A few nights after Summer requested the assassin, a dog woke her up in the middle of the night. Summer jumped up and growled at the intruder. The dog hushed her and said "The ancestors sent me to be your assassin. My name is Granite and I'm at your service."
Summer relaxed and led Granite out of the camp. "Ok. I have an important mission for you. There is a dog in this kennel who has always been opposing me. She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and I need her gone." Summer explains her plan to Granite.
He responds "I will do my best," and leaves.

The next day Summer walks up to Lekkar. "Where is your herb storage Lekkar? I want to make sure it is in a secure place so the rains don't soil the herbs."
"Oh, it's right this way. I keep all of the herbs wrapped up in grass containment. They are in their own little nest that I built that is also waterproof."
Just then, Verona runs up to the dogs. "Summer, Revolution just told me that one of the puppies is looking sick! Meadow is getting very weak!"
"Hold on. I am discussing important information with Lekkar. I will visit the puppies later. Give Meadow some water for now and keep her away from the others."
"But, she needs you. Meadow needs more milk and warmth from her mother."
"Have Revolution take care of her!" Summer snapped. "I'm very busy now."
"Oh... ok. Sorry for disturbing you." Verona runs off and tells Tobias about Meadow. Tobias runs straight to the birthing nest and cuddles up to his pups.
Summer dismissed Lekkar and starts to make her way from camp. Lekkar asks "Where are you going? Aren't you going to check up on Meadow and Chester?"
"I will do that later. I have somewhere to be."
Summer finds Callie after taking a walk. "Callie, come here immediately."
Callie begrudgingly walks away from Clover and Roxy and asks "What is it you want?"
Summer growls a little. "I'm sending you on a mission to patrol the western side of the lake. There have been some signs of a dog roaming around there. Investigate it and return to me with your findings."
"Fine, I'll ask Clover to come with me."
"No. The Scouts are going out to hunt. You will leave immediately before the dog leaves our territory."
"Alright. I'm going." Callie leaves for the western side of the lake.
She grumbles to herself about how Summer has too much power and no one else has a say in the kennel. Granite was stalking her from a distance. He silently sprinted up to Callie and pinned her down. Granite quickly took the packet of leaves and shoved it into Callie's mouth. She bit down on it and the Foxgloves exploded in her mouth. She kicked him off and attacked. The two fought for a while and Granite received some minor wounds. Callie grew weak and collapsed to the ground, dead. Granite dragged her to the edge of the territory and into the mountains. He made his way to camp, the deadly nightshade packet carefully bundled in some leaves.

Summer called a meeting of the kennel. She announced that Callie had gone missing and a search party was to be sent out looking for her. She assured everyone that one dog would not stop the normal functioning of the kennel and that everyone would go about doing their business as usual. She dismissed the kennel.

morning sunlight shined all throughout colorado, warm colors dancing across the cold skies. a large, thick coated ovcharka stirre
d awake from his slumber by the whistling of a train. he had a look of confusion on his face, wondering why and how he had gott
en here. oh, that's right. the ovcharka had realized he was going to telluride to see some old buddies. kion, the ovcharka, glance
d at all the other dogs boarding the train, seeing malamutes, huskies, pyrenees dogs, spaniels, and other dog breeds. some were
in groups, mothers with young pups, or flying solo as a loner. kion was a loner, he had traveled this far and long without a compa
nion that he had became used to being alone and on his own, it wasn't like he needed anyone anyways. though, at some times, h
e couldn't argue that he had felt lonely and sometimes wanted a traveling companion; most wild dogs seemed to have one, and t
hey were to look out for each other. maybe he could find someone one day to rid him of overwhelming solitude.

kion twisted himself from out and between the boxes and packages, which were being sent to telluride and other places. he look
ed from out the train and stared outside. they were almost in telluride, according to the various signs passing them. the ovcharka
focused on the nature, from the trees to the small streams glimmering in the distance, the plants glistening from the early rain s
hower they received. his surroundings screamed calmness, kion felt a connection to the outdoors and he would always feel free w
hen he's surrounded by it. his mother would raise him and his siblings outdoors, they'd stay in a small fenced area and play. kion h
ad grown used to living outdoors, and being enclosed in that fenced area had begun to drive him crazy, making him want to go be
yond the fence. of course his mother didn't approve of it and wanted him to stay near home, but he disobeyed her by leaving and
roaming this far, miles away from telluride, his hometown. kion sighed, a puff of air appearing and dissipating. he missed his moth
er dearly, she died from pneumonia that came from influenza, or what the humans had called the 'flu.' she was comforting to him,
giving off comforting vibes that most did not, which included his siblings, especially nanuq and juno. she was taken away when sh
e was only five years old, still a young age for dogs. as for their father, kion never knew him, but mother yukon had said he was a
mazing, the feral dogs had killed him before they were born. kion wished he could see them both, but he deemed it impossible.

before kion could become gloomy, a voice had startled him. "bonjour," the ovcharka glanced over to the voice's owner, his eyes la
nding on a rare breed of dog: a braque du bourbonnais, or just a bourbonnais for short. "oh, bonjour." kion had said solemnly, givi
ng a small smile to the dog. "tu travailles? je suis." kion knew little of what this dog was trying to say to him, he knew it was fren
ch but could not recall these words' meanings. "uh... pardon?" he questioned with a glimmer of confusion on his face. the bourbo
nnais gave a small chuckle. "i said are you travelling somewhere? and that i was. i'm sorry, i thought that most dogs here knew fre
nch and came from canada." he had restated in english, something that kion could understand. most dogs, or feral dogs, had knew
french and had migrated from canada to here, the united states. some dogs coexisted in large groups they had often called 'kenne
ls' or 'packs.' kion had never been apart of a pack or kennel before, but in the past, he had wish he had did. it was kind of dumb t
o want to live in a pack, it would be much more difficult to survive out, and that meant that food would have to rationed and sha
red. kion would like to have a travelling buddy, but only just that one dog and no one else. "yes, i'm travelling to telluride to visit
some old friends." the ovcharka replied smoothly, the bourbonnais giving a nod of understanding. "ah, i'm travelling somewhere th
at i don't know the name of, it's where my father stays. i decided to visit him for a while, i haven't done so in a long time." kion n
odded to tell him that he was listening as he stared out. kion didn't visit his family in long time as well, it made him feel guilty fo
r not coming to check up on them. "my father had been lonesome for a long time, my mother passed away, you know? and my sibl
ings lived far elsewhere with owners, unlike me." he had said, a tint of sorrow in his voice after mentioning his mother, kion could
feel the same. "i felt bad for leaving him all this time. he just stayed there and wallowed in his despair, until one day, i just felt t
errible and finally decided to go see him and perhaps stay while i can." the bourbonnais continued on, staring out with him. a sile
nce had passed over them before any of them said more. "my mother passed away as well, she had influenza and was taken away."
kion shared, the dog giving him a look of sympathy. "oh, i'm sorry to hear that." he muttered as if he were one to blame. "no need
to apologize, it wasn't anyone's fault." another silence passed over them, they both could feel each others' dejection and guilt, no
t deciding to speak anymore.

eventually, the silence was broken once again and the two had began to pick up a decent conversation without mentioning anyth
ing bad, or particularly upsetting. an hour later, the train had came to an abrupt stop as they had reached telluride, his destinati
on. he felt a bit anguished about leaving the dog, archer as he said he was named, behind. it was the first company he had in a w
hile and the first good conversation too he had with someone that he hadn't known. as the ovcharka hopped of the train, archer h
ad called out a goodbye to him, saying that they may cross ways again with each other in the future, something that kion would l
ike to happen. he watched as the men unload the packages from off the train and then continue on to the next destinations, the
train's whistle slowly faded as it raced away. telluride, kion was finally here. he wondered how his friends would react to seeing h
im all of a sudden, along with his siblings, they'd probably argue with him and that was something he didn't really want. he'd just
have to see for himself. taking a deep breath, kion headed off and further into the depths of the town, hoping to come across fam
iliar faces.

Otto sneaked a quick glance at the newest member of the kennel, Skye, as he chowed down in the remains of a fish earlier caught in the day.  He seemed to be set into a trance with her, her charming looks and kindness easily capturing him and holding him hostage.  The Aussie shepherd seemed oblivious to the male's liking towards her, though Otto's sister Marina could tell that her sibling was falling for her.  She rolled her eyes, turning to Hudson, who sat just to the left of her, sprawled out on a large slab of rock as he sunned himself.

"Warm, alpha?" She asked amused as he flipped himself onto his back, exposing his stomach as he peacefully soaked up the warmth of springtime.  Hudson tilted his head to look at Marina, grinning lopsidedly as he tongue lolled from his mouth.  "Definitely!  I'm taking this spring warmth for advantage and you should too." The German shepherd replied cheerily.  "But in all honestly im just doing this because I know I'll have to trek to speak to the gods later today." He added on a more serious note.  Marina looked at him with an interested spark in her eyes.  "Really?  Well, good luck alpha-Lacke, I hope the gods grant you your request.  Whatever it may be."  Hudson rolled back over from his back, now moving closer to Marina as he spoke.  "I hope to bring back the pack a shaman, I think that having a healer in our pack is a pawsteps closer to greatness."

Lindon was woken up to a sharp gasp coming from the nursery, he knew instantly what was happening and ran out of the Irontooth dens and to the nursery. However he was stopped by the other pup-mother, Dusty. "whats going on?" he asked desperately. In response Dusty shook her head gently "don't worry, shes alright" she said kindly "Zaria is there now helping her deliver her puppies. Why don't you go do something productive, like hunt?" she gave him a gentle look "We need one last good hunt from you before you get distracted by the pups.

Cal padded out of his den yawning as he shook away his exhaustion. It was early but no one could sleep with a pup-mother in labor. He looked over at the worried Lindon and signaled him over. Lindon obeyed and came "go gather Varian and Julius for a hunt" Cal suggested. Lindon dipped his head in respect and went to his two friends.

Hudson closed his eyes and bowed his head so it was almost touching the ground. He prayed "Zenshun, I pray that you send a skilled shaman to my kennel. They will be needed later on when the kennel gets larger. A knowledgeable shaman will help keep the kennel healthy and is essential to becoming a great kennel. I thank you for listening and hope you grant my request."

Skye, Xylah, and Otto make their way around the territory. They move stealthily and prick their ears at any noises. Soon they come across a couple of mice, feasting on some fallen berries. They dogs creep closer and Xylah nods her head to her hunting members. They give slight nods in return and the dogs fan out. They attack from three sides simultaneously and the mice scatter. Otto and Xylah manage to catch one each. The other mice scurry past the dogs. Skye says "Good work guys. I'd day that this is a successful hunt."

Basil and Marina scout the shore of the lake for some food. Ducks flew overhead but didn't land in the water. It was hours before they found their first fish. Basil spotted the trout and dashed into the water. She dove her head in but missed the fish and it swiftly swam away. Marina ran into the water and said "Basil, you can't just run blindly into the water without warning. We could have tried to push the fish to shallower waters where it would have been easier to catch."
"I saw the fish. It looked like I could have gotten it. It was starting to swim deeper anyway. We wouldn't have gotten it."
"We could have tried though. Nevermind, we should keep looking for more food."

The young black and white canine followed nervously behind Bullet, navigating along an endless range of trees. "Almost there." Bullet promised in a murmur, and hope glinted in Felix's eyes. Moments wearily passed, and they finally entered the camp clearing. All sorts of dogs were busily doing their duties, and some were chatting away white they waited patiently for their turns. One dog in particular, a small and brown Irontooth, waddled up to Felix. Stifling a laugh at the size difference, Felix smiled awkwardly. "Hello, I'm Achilles. Welcome to Falling Leaves." The small dog yipped. "T...thank you." He replied. "I'm glad our ancestors brought me here. I promise to do good as a member of Falling Leaves." Felix vowed, dipping his head so it was around the same level as Achilles'. But something inside of him told him it wasn't so perfect.

It didn't take long to make Minnow driven into madness. After his brother's death, his mind was flaring with violence. Something that shrieked in his mind, and words he could not stop. Had he gone insane? Impossible. It was Bullet who had gone insane. Doing seemingly nothing for the pack, and definitely undeserving of the title of Alpha. Minnow, himself, would do fine as an Alpha. He had strength, courage and intelligence. He was fit for the title of Alpha. But how would he achieve the title? By convincing him? No way. By killing him. It would be hard, with all his lives and all. But he would take each life away, slowly but surely. And he'd be Alpha. But he needed someone to help, and he knew the perfect 'someone'. His very dear apprentice, Sieger. Bullet's very own son, ripping his lives away? Glorious.

"Nettle, Achilles, Saskia, Laurelle and Raj. I'm trusting you five to hunt down the deer. Bullet had offered to come as well, so that makes six of you to bring home a deer." Gabriel barked, and the five nodded and split off, preparing for their patrol. Bullet trotted next to his mate and gave her an affectionate lick on her head. "It's nice to be Beta again. The days of sitting in the nursery were so long and boring. Yet Sieger and Blitz were worth it." She grinned. "I'm glad you're back into being Beta. Boom did an excellent job in your place, yet you're still brilliant." Bullet replied, nodding his head. "I suppose I'll have to go hunting that deer down now." Bullet sighed, starting to make his way to the other five. "Please," Gabriel started with a whine. "Please be safe."
