xxxx • while out hunting, LARKA manages to find and catch x1 rabbit in the midst of the foggy woods.
xxxxxxxx → on her way back to the camp, LARKA picks up the scent of another wolf in the area. whoever it is, they are intruding on her pack's territory, they should know very well of the scent markers she's left. should she go and follow this scent and investigate, or leave it be and see if the wolf will finally get the message?

xxxx • patrolling through the fog was quite the hassle, but LARKA manages to succeed in her patrol and has marked all borders of the pack's territory. while on patrol, she also comes across an unfamiliar face.
xxxxxxxx → in the middle of patrol, the she-wolf encounters another wolf who she definitely does not recognize. out of instinct, a growl rumbles in the wolf's throat in what appears to be a hostile way, but their body language completely contradicts this──their tail is pressed between their legs, pupils widened, hackles rose and back hunching over in what appears to be submission ... after a moments of silence, the wolf stops growling and its head suddenly tilts to the side, confused on why the she-wolf has not done anything yet. LARKA asks why they are doing here, in which they hesitantly reply──explaining that they were looking for a pack to join. should LARKA accept them into the pack, or chase them out of her territory?

xxxx • deciding to follow the scent, WILTEDSTAR is led to the an unoccupied den that is just near the southern border of his pack's territory. the den is empty besides with the bones of what appears to be a rabbit, the kill had been recent. outside of the den, there are a few paw prints of the loner in the muddy earth, but following them is pointless as they eventually vanish in the thick grass. after attempting to track down the scent, it appears that WILTEDSTAR had only been running in circles. strange. should he continue looking for this loner?

The Glacier Pack
The Glacier Pack lives in a national park. Their territory consists of forests, mountains and lakes. Their camp is in a ravine with their dens carved out of the sides. It gets extraordinarily snowy in the winter and is rainy in the summer. It is never truly hot.

The pack has a variety of pelt colors and personalities but the one thing all the wolves seem to have in common is their over aggressive territorial view on other packs. Don't try to steal their prey or their land unless you want broken bones.

Forbidden relations are considered unclean, however they are not necessarily banned.

Shamans are allowed to have pups. In fact, it is required that the shaman is the offspring of the last one. The healers are viewed to have sacred blood and an unbreakable connection to the ancestors. The first born pup is destined to become their parent’s protégée while the rest of their siblings are free to be another rank. If the firstborn somehow is unable to fufil their destiny, the next born pup will fill its place.

To be able to become a full member of the pack, the apprentice must challenge their mentor. If they are a hunter, they must see who gets the most prey in a day. If they are a guard, they mist challenge their mentor to a battle; not to the death, just until one pins the other for a certain amount of time.

The elders are very respected. Young apprentices or pups go to them when they need guidance.

Omegas aren’t really that disadvantaged. Of course, their specific treatment depends on the wolf and they aren’t allowed out of camp without an escort, but they still play a vital role. Omegas attends to camp affairs, like rebuilding nests and dens and watching the pups when mothers need alone time.

xxxxnoctus was. . .dissapointed when he could only catch the stale scent of another wolf, but he had hope that tomorrow, his luck would come through and he would welcome another packmate. the hare he had caught swung from his jaws as he padded back slowly to house black’s castle of residence. his eyes narrowed when as he approached the castle’s steps there was a figure sitting upon the top step. reaching the bottom step, noctus gently dropped the hair on the marble before racing up the steps toward the figure, lips peeled and teeth bared. ”who are you? this is house black territory.” the other wolf was a fae, her rather spiky pelt different shades of light brown and the color of sand. her eyes were warm and golden and she sat with her tail wrapped neatly around her paws, not flinching when he charged up the steps.

ShadowAngel was returning back to the camp after a long day's hunt, and waiting for him was a she-wolf with strange fur colors. Pretty, but strange. The only wolves he had seen in his former pack had solid colored pelts, but she seemed to have splashes of black and white and tinges of red along her fur, and startling, canine eyes of yellow.

A tremble of excitement ran through him. This must be the Wing that the ancestors had brought him. The she-wolf blinked and stared at him with equal interest, stepping forward warily. She examined the makeshift den he had built in the grass, noting the salmon he held. His jaw went slack. It seemed like she was analyzing him, and that set an uncomfortable silence between them.

"I'm ShadowAngel of the Shadow Angel Pack," he growled finally. "Pack? What pack?" Her voice was surprisingly gruff and taunting. "All I see is a young, ignorant wolf on his own, left out to die by another bigger pack." He bristled, the words taking a harsh blow on his pride, and couldn't help snapping back, "Aren't you a 'young, ignorant wolf' as well, driven out of whatever pack you were in too?" This stopped the she-wolf, and she turned to glare at him. Her gaze softened, though, and then she murmured, "So, tell me about this 'pack', then..."

Kage padded over the ridge. His stomach rumbled and his paws ached, but he had to continue. The stars had told him to leave his birth pack for a reason and he wasn't going to give up now. His thick pelt was moved by the wind as he poked his head over the peak of the ridge. A feeling swirled in his heart. This was where he was supposed to be. He opened his eyes and saw a turquoise lake surrounded by looming pines. A grin spread on his muzzle. His eyes caught a dried up river. Tilting his head, he decided to inspect it. The black wolf carefully made his way down the ridge and into the lake valley. He ran to the destination, passing tree trunks and large boulders, looking up to see the mountain peaks clawing at the sky. The points still had snow clinging to them and there was a slight chill in the wind. Kage eventually reached the ravine. It wasn't deep, the sides only rose to about a head-length above his ears. Then again, he was fairly tall and bulky; to a normal wolf, the walls would conceal them. There were holllowed out spots carved into the walls, with two large boulders perched a little ways ahead that cut him off from the rest of the stream. He counted eight hollow dens. Poking his head in all of them, he realized they were relatively large. The two boulders created a sort of cave. That would be another den. That made eight in total. Counting how many ranks made up a pack, a smile formed on his lips. Perfect. This would be his pack's home.

Ace sniffed at the tracks, a growl rising up from his throat. They looked canine, but small. A fox perhaps, or a small coyote. Fur on the back of his neck rising, he decided he'd have to investigate, but not today. Not now. First he had to return to camp and prepare a metal snake to be a nursery for the she-wolf his old Alpha had shown him. She would be arriving soon, and he wanted to be ready.

The she-wolf padded slowly through the city, fur fluffed instinctively to make herself appear bigger, more threatening, to keep any would-be-attackers at bay. Lowering her muzzle, she sniffed at the stones, and felt her tail begin to wag. This was the scent her dead mate had given her!

The two of them had been lone wolves, until an aggressive pack moved into their territory. Her mate had challenged the Alpha, and had died of his wounds. She had then fled, fearful for the lives of her pups, growing inside of her. She had ran, and several sunrises later, she had seen him. He'd appeared in a dream, and told her to seek out the wold pack who was led by Ace. He would protect her and her pups.

Lifting her head again, the she-wolf let out a howl, and then sat down to wait.

The sun had been in the middle of the sky when Ace heard the howl. Turning his head towards the southern border, Ace bounded in that direction.

When he reached the source, the sun was traveling downward, and he saw the face of the wolf that had been shown by his old Alpha. "Are you Ace?" she asked, looking at him with a combination of hope and fear.

Ace nodded, wagging his tail in a friendly manner "I am, who are you?" The she-wolf's tail wagged in relief "I'm Poppy, my mate...well he's gone, but I carry his pups. His spirit told me you would keep me safe, is that true?" Ace nodded. "I will do everything in my power to do so." Poppy smiled, tongue lolling out of her mouth "Then I pledge myself to you, Alpha."
