Next ancestral visit: Next Wednesday {Est timing}

With a small dead bird in his jaw, Noctis padded slowly over to the small cave like den where he had marked for his own use, placing the bird in a corner he turned around, and to his surprise, he realised that he wasn't alone.

Sitting in the other side of the cave was another dog, grooming herself, lifting her head, she looked towards the alpha before padding over to give him a gentle rub of her head.
"You asked for a beta?"

Season: Spring
Weather Report: As Spring begins to come and Winter begins to fade, the snow begins to melt.
There doesn't seem to be the chance of flooding. With the days becoming warmer the feral dogs can
now begin to find prey much easier.

With winter passing and Spring finally coming many packs had disbanded, leaving many dogs with out a pack or a place to call home. However during the normal gathering many of the pack-less dogs where able to find a home with some of the other packs. It was going to be rough starting over, but each dog was grateful to have a pack again. Kodiak, the alpha of the Northern Stars wasn't one to turn a dog away in need. The strong alpha ended up taking in eight new dogs. Although it would be rough for a little while, Kodiak believed in the ancestors to make sure everything went well.

Some dogs with higher rankings where now demoted to Ironteeth, as Kodiak was alpha and already had a beta. However the large male knew they would adjust soon enough. Among the new members where the Broken Sentinels' Shaman Kai and Irontooth Graham, the Blood of Ember's Alpha Dane and Irontooth Zeus, the Kennel Of Rushing Water's Beta Leif and Irontooth Sasha, and finally the Half Towers' Alpha Dakota and Beta Banjo. Some where more friendly then others, but Kodiak knew it would take time for them to warm up to his pack.

Spring had brought the sun's warmth along with the Northern Star's rarest prey; deer. The pack had successfully hunted a few down, being able to feed all the new mouths they had acquired. The pups where growing stronger with each passing day and the pack remained fairly healthy. With more helping paws around they where able to hunt more and check their borders more frequently. Kodiak sat on top of a large boulder inside the main cave watching as his pack mates began their day. He smiled a bit, happy to see everyone quickly adjusting and getting along. The alpha dipped his head a bit, closing his eyes before thanking the ancestors quietly. Without them he knew his pack would fall, however the ancestors had been kind enough to gran them a fabulous Spring.

After thanking the ancestors Kodiak called for a pack meeting, hoping to get patrols sent out. "I know Winter was rough, but with Spring comes plenty of prey and future pups! We are growing quickly which means we will need to hunt more. Today I want to send out a few patrols while those with Tenderpaws get out there and get some training in." The slight pump up caused many dogs to let out happy yips, howls, and barks. Waiting for the noise to die down a bit, Kodiak smiled proudly as he looked out across his pack mates. "I want Stone to take a patrol out to find that deer from the other day. Amber, you shall lead one of the border patrols. Bailey, you will lead another hunting party. Dakota, you'll lead another border patrol. The rest of you I want out training your Tenderpaws or looking for something to help the pack. Your dismissed!" he barked, hoping down off the boulder.

The patrol leaders quickly gathered up dogs to take with them before heading out. Kodiak waited for them to leave before going to his Tenderpaw, Bird. Today he planed to take her out and show her a new skill, like Korra, Bird was showing tremendous progress filling Kodiak with an overwhelming sense of pride.

Pack of Endless Howles
Number of Dogs: 11

It is a very busy day for the Tribe of Endless Howles, for they skyrocketed from only three members to eleven in one moon! Bronco could already feel a headache coming as he stepped out of his den, the ground lightly snowed over like usual, to see a bustle of activity already. The pup-mother he requested, Latara, already had her paws full trying to handle Bruno since she didn’t even have her own pups yet. The two shamans had a debate over who knows what and some Irontesth chatted to the goofy Beau trying to show off for his lady, Clover. Then, Bronco’s eye was caught by two fluffy figures moving out of camp. It was Kaelys and Kalsang leaving for their day of training already as Kalsang seemed a little nervous. Despite coming from another pack where he was already a tenderpaw, he had to deal with learning in a pack he knew no one from. Bronco would be intimidated too! As Bronco sat, watching the sight, Cho-Lynn assigned jobs for the day nearby. The pack truly exploded with activity but it was great! Then with a huff, Bronco rose to squeeze himself into the chores schedule.

Swinging Blades

The tenderpaw quickly returned with the Marigold in mouth. Lekkar expertly treated Callie's wounds. In a few days she was able to move around and was soon 100%. Callie called Dimitri over and the two chatted for a bit. Callie started "I hate Summer. It's because of her poor leadership that so many of us have injuries. Titus even knew that three dogs would be no match for a mountain lion. And even when she went out with her patrol, many of them got injured. Duke is lucky that Lekkar was able to heal his eye and applied the herbs so quickly."
Dimitri looked around nervously. "Callie you should talk quietly. Summer is our alpha and if she found out you were talking about her like that, she'd make you an omega. You know how harsh Summer can be."
The ridgeback huffed as she paced in a circle. "I'm not intimidated by her. She's reckless and her judgement is costing this kennel resources and healthy dogs. Weren't you with her patrol?"
"Yeah, Summer got knocked out at the beginning of the battle. Tobias looked after her and it was three on one. That's why the lion was able to attack Duke. If she didn't get hurt, we would have had the upper hand."
"See? Summer doesn't know her limits! She should have never become alpha. I should have challenged her as soon as she defeated Kota."
"Maybe it was a good thing that Kota isn't the alpha anymore. He cares deeply about passing on his way of fighting and with the new pups, I think that he was planning on training them all. He couldn't have done that all by himself. He had a hard enough time with me. But I think he's happy that I'm at least training Clover."
"I liked it better when Kota was the alpha. He at least had compassion about the dogs in this kennel." Callie stormed off and Dimitri visited Kota.

Summer had also gotten better. She decided to have a chat with her beta. "Titus, let's talk."
The collie walked over and sat down next to Summer. "What's on the agenda?"
"We need to discuss the issue of our borders. I still want to move more into the forest. Now it's spring and more prey are coming out of their hibernation. It's the perfect time to move into the forest."
"What about the other kennel that lies in the forest?"
"I haven't smelled them for weeks. It seems they have moved on. I want you to take a patrol over into the forest and start marking the trees over there."
"Right, I'll send a patrol out now. How many dogs do you want me to take?"
"As many as you feel like will do the job and send the message."
Titus nodded and walked off.

Season: Spring.
Weather Report: The winter snows have just begun to melt away as sunlight
streams through the budging tree branches, warming the feral dog's backs as they
move along with their days. Their doesn't seem to be a chance of any flooding.
Prey has begun to liven up once more and stir around, though they are still un-
alert due to hibernation, which makes much hunting easier.

Thunder Valley Pack

Next Ancestor Visit; 20th of December
Pups Due In; 2 Moons

Rexx walked by himself, his paws hitting the ground with resounding thuds, his eyes searching the forest before him. He had heard other dogs talking, but they were moving quite fast, and he couldn't seem to find them, let alone get close enough to them to talk to them. For a long time, he couldn't seem to find the dogs, and it had finally gone silent. He sat down, very confused, and slightly turned around.

He decided to let them go, but as he turned around, he heard the whispers of a voice, and he sprinted towards it. His strong, lean frame galloped at the sounds, and in the middle of a small clearing, he saw an two faes and a male. The male was hunched over the grey female, and was talking to her in a comforting voice. Rexx cleared his throat, and all three dogs's heads snapped up. The large white female glared at him while the red male studied him curiously. The female on the ground was struggling to get up, but realized that they outnumbered the one lone male.

He cleared his throat again, and asked, "Why are you on my territory?"

"We didn't know anybody owned this land," The white female answered.

"Well. I'm starting a new pack here, and my goal is to be the biggest pack around, one that nobody would mess with."

The white female looked at him and nodded, "Well, I need a place to be. My former pack, unfortunately, disbanded. They were good folk, but I need a pack to belong to. I'm not sure about Vulcan & Atlantis, but I want to join."

Rexx shook his coat, surprised at the females bluntness & straightforwardness. "Alright. What about you two?"

The red dog nodded, "Need a Shaman?"

"I already have one back at camp, but she's young, and you look a little more experienced. I'd gladly have you. What about you?" He pointed his nose toward the female resting on the ground.

She sighed, "I've - I've never been in a pack before, and I've always lived on my own-"

The red dog interrupted her, speaking so softly that Rexx couldn't hear him, "You have pups that need to be taken care of. They need a place where they will be safe & protected."

She sighed, and her doe eyes glistened as she thought of the young pups in her belly. "Oh, Alright, I'll join, but once my pups are adults & can take care of themselves, I'm leaving, and going to follow the sun."

Rexx nodded, his eyes wide, "Pups?" He wasn't sure that he had a big enough den for pups to survive in, but he was willing to dig a larger one, or find an old bear burrow.

She smiled, standing up and shaking her coat out, "That ok, boss dog?"

He nodded and chuckled , "Sounds alright mama dog..."

Another moon had passed without important events. Rose was getting heavier, but refuses to retreat to the nursery and insists that she is well enough to continue as beta. Eventually though, as Koda was the only Irontooth, he would fill in as Beta. But for now Koda was off to investigate the scent of a strange dog near the southern border and Rose went patrolling with Pepper.
