It had been three moons since the attack by the rogues that led to the deaths of spiderwhisker, coonpaw, and skunkpaw. She hadnt really wanted to go to the gathering that moon; she wanted to stay behind with squirrelpaw, marmotpaw, and beaverpaw. You could say that she had become a bit of a helicopter mom since the deaths of her mate and two of her kits. She was practically glued to the side of at least one of her kits at all times, much to their displeasure, and she insisted they all sleep together again, like they did when the trio were still little bitty kits. But the three of them had convinced her to attend the gathering this moon so that she could see some of her good friends from other clans and just forget about the bad times from the last few moons. So she went along with the handful of cats from her clan to attend the gathering this moon. As they arrived at the glade, everyone sort of split up; satinstar went to sit with the leaders, poolwatcher went to sit with the medicine cats, and the others sought out their own friends.

The classic black tabby wandered through the tangle of cats, smiling at everyone and greeting anyone who made eye contact with her. She stopped a few times to have brief conversations with cats that she considered acquaintances or friends from previous gatherings or border meetings. But there was one particular cat whom her brown eyes were on the look-out for this entire night, the one tom who she desired to see more than anyone else that night. The evening was almost over by the time she came across a group of Keyclan cats who were beginning to gather with one another to prepare to head back to their clan. Her brown eyes fell on a younger ginger tabby that she recognized from previous gatherings, and she approached the molly with a friendly smile. “Hey, babypuff right? I’m Lunawing. I’ve been looking for Swiftwind all night but I havent been able to find him, and normally we meet up right at the beginning of the gatherings. Is he alright?” As soon as she mentioned the clan’s trapeze artist, a tension seemed to fill the air among the Keyclan cats, and being the perceptive molly that she was, Lunawing noticed it immediately. She could see that the ginger molly was uneasy about answering her question, looking back to some of her clanmates, but the classic black tabby wasnt about to budge. “Since his name has brought up a clear sense of unease among you all, I will ask again. Where is my friend, where is Swiftwind?” The smaller and younger keyclan molly took a slight step back, gulping before she answered the older cat. “He-he got hurt recently. He’s alive, but he’s lost his vision. He’ll never be able to see again.”

It was at this moment that two more cats joined the group, one of which being her own clanmate. Poolwatcher was by the side of a petite abysinnian who, like him, also smelled of herbs and flowers; the keyclan tamer smiled at the group as she joined, immediately trying to diffuse the situation. “Everything alright here?” Lunawing’s own clanmate left the side of his fellow healer to stand beside her, lowering his head to her eye level before he spoke in a low, soft voice. “Your tail is bristling. What’s wrong Lychnis?” She made eye contact with the ruddy red tamer, shaking out her fur in an attempt to smooth it down. “I’m coming with you to see Swiftwind.” You could hear the audible gasps from some of the cats behind the tamer, and her calculated eyes were judging how stubborn the classic tabby would be if she said no. The massive brown form of Poolwatcher left his clanmate’s side to lower his head directly into his newfound friend’s ear; “Weasel, she lost her mate and two of her kits a few moons ago. He’s one of her best friends. She needs to see with her own eyes that he’s alive and going to be okay. She won’t cause you any trouble, I promise. She’s just scared to lose anyone else right now.”

As the petite molly’s yellow eyes looked up into his own olive orbs, it was like she could sense the honesty from him; Weasel knew from the conversation she had had with the Rit Zien that his clan had suffered great losses several moons ago. And with the recent betrayals and deaths in Keyclan, she understood what the scottish straight-ear must be feeling. She gave a brisk nod of her head before turning her eyes upon the older molly again. “Alright, but we’ll need your leader’s permission. We can’t have this situation turn into something it’s not.” Poolwatcher knew what she meant - a cat from the celestials seen with a patrol of Keyclan cats could, to an outsider or anyone who didnt know the situation, look like a prisoner or hostage situation. Just at that moment though, the lean form of the dilute calico archangel appeared at Lunawing’s side, gracing everyone with a warm and friendly smile. “I’m Satinstar. You have my blessing. As long as Lunawing returns to our clan within the moon.” Weasel’s head nodded again, giving a slight lowered dip in respect to the higher ranking cat, and then she gestured for the group to follow her, and they were off into the trees, leaving the gathering space and going to keyclan.

The trip itself was rather quiet and quick, with Lunawing taking up the rear of the traveling party, as she had no idea where she was going. She had heard of Keyclan before, even had a few clanmates who had friends, flings, or mates within the clan, but she herself had never actually ventured past its borders. As they entered the clan’s camp area, she couldnt help but feel a bit uneasy, as there was just so much rusted and broken metal, among other two-legged contraptions long since abandoned. She knew it was slightly judgmental of her to dislike this place, when her clan also lived in an abandoned two-legged building, but this camp just felt much less safe and more unstable somehow. As they made their way to what Babypuff whispered to her was the ‘metal snake spine’, the cats split off into their dens, which appeared to be separate boxes of this snake, and as they approached a slightly larger one, Weasel turned to the other molly. “You have to be quiet inside; loud sounds reverberate and can be deafening. He’s inside, I’ll allow you two a few minutes before I enter.”

Lunawing nodded her head in thanks to the other molly before she slipped her body through the small opening that was left from the seats being thrown upside-down many years ago by the two-legs. As she pulled her body through fully, her eyes adjusted to the slightly darker setting, and quickly landed on a form in the corner; a blue somali tom whose eyes were completely covered in cobwebs and some thick paste, likely an herbal concoction to ease the pain and heal the open wounds. “Oh, Weasel, you’re back! How was the gath-” The tom began to speak as soon as she entered, but he stopped mid-sentence, noticing the scent was not of keyclan. His fur began to bristle, unsure if this stranger meant him harm, but he couldnt help but recognize this strange scent somehow, from somewhere, he just couldnt place it.. Lunawing let out a loud purr as she approached the tom, immediately nuzzling his neck and taking a seat at his side. She began to lick his ears, grooming him before even speaking a word, and once she was that close, her scent overwhelmed his nostrils and he knew who she was. “Lunawing! But how-why?” Through her purrs she let out a chuckle, touching her nose gently to his before returning to grooming his pelt. “I heard you were hurt badly and I came. You don’t think I’d let you go through this alone did you? I’m not losing anyone else I care about.” Their purrs began to rumble together in unison as the tom allowed her to groom him, and the pair began to converse as if no time had passed at all since they last saw each other.

The petite molly had found herself growing more and more nervous as her pregnancy progressed; every day that she was closer to her kitting, she worried she wouldnt be strong enough to endure it, or that she would lose her kits in some complication. She had recently moved from the auditorium hall where most of the cats slept, and instead was sleeping in the hallway that connected the auditorium to the rit zien’s den in the kitchen. Just as she was lost in her thoughts, she felt a sharp pang in her abdomen, and she cried out loudly; luckily, a large brown tabby tom had been heading towards the kitchen with some herbs in his maw, and poolwatcher quickly dropped the herbs to rush to the small ticked tabby’s side. The labor was long and strenuous, and poolwatcher brought his partner milktuft out of her hole of depression for long enough to bring some borage out for the she-cat; somehow, despite lasting from the sun rise to the sun set, all of the kits were healthy as was their mother.

It was the first litter that the clan was welcoming with their new leader in charge, and so the dilute calico had been pacing the hallway for several hours, praying to the angels that things would go smoothly. Finally, Poolwatcher had come down to get the archangel to greet the new mother and her kits, and satinstar approached the white/grey queen with a smile, leaning down to rest her chin on papyrus’ head for a moment in greeting. “Congratulations Rippledream, Poolwatcher told me you have two toms and two mollies, all healthy. I’ll let the rest of the clan know. When you’re ready, let us know, and we will help you move the kits to the den that we have prepared for you back in the auditorium hall with the other cupids and nephilim.”

Softwish, Stormheart, Smogtongue, and Satinstar each picked up a kit as the tired mother stood up, balancing her body weight against Poolwatcher’s body, relying on his strength to help her walk. As Smogtongue set Crowkit down at her stomach to nurse, his friend looked up at him with her blue eyes and whispered as quietly as she could; “I miss her smog..” Once they all got settled, Smogtongue rubbed his head against her own before he shared a whispered conversation with Satinstar, before the fluffy grey tom slipped out of the church and made his way into the forest. He followed the Gihon River towards the southeast border of the celestials territory, the border that they shared with one of their allies, Islandclan. He waited for a few moments to see if there were any patrols, but he grew impatient quickly and crossed over, making his way towards the familiar lake; he commonly came to the Islandclan camp to meet his mate Cumuluscloud.

Sometimes he would visit alone, but other times he would come with a clanmate who also had a crush or mate in the clan; his close friend Nettlebite was hardcore crushing on a molly from Islandclan named Marigoldpatch, and his other close friend Rippledream had been crushing on Cumuluscloud’s sister Badgersniffle. He personally had introduced Rippledream to Badgersniffle at a gathering several moons back; he had been interacting with Cumuluscloud and Badgersniffle had come over to talk to her brother about something, and in the meantime he had made eye contact with Rippledream and invited her over to join their conversation. Well Badgersniffle and Rippledream had hit things off right from the start, the same way that he himself had hit things off with Cumuluscloud.

He was pulled out of his thoughts when he arrived at the lakefront, shaking his head as he huffed softly; he always hated this part, his thick fur being soaked through and sticking to his bones. Without another thought though he slipped into the cool water, swimming through the lake until he made it to the small island in the middle. He shook off his fur before he ducked through the bushes, keeping his amber eyes peeled as he entered the clan’s camp space. He let out a loud meow to alert the cats of his presence, but clearly not fast enough, because in a flash an orange and white molly had him pinned to the soft ground, her ears pinned and teeth barred, and a group of other cats had surrounded them, ready to jump in if he proved resistant. “Hey, hey, Marigoldpatch, it’s me, its Smogtongue.” He managed to choke out, despite her paws on his throat, and with a hiss the molly slipped off him, allowing him to stand back to his paws. A brown and white tabby broke through the onlook of cats, and he recognized her bobtail before her green eyes landed on him, causing the molly to sigh. “Smogtongue, please excuse us for being on edge. We’ve had some issues with rogues recently; we thought you could have been one. What are you here for?” The grey tom smiled at her awkwardly, scuffing his paw on the ground. “Sorry, I guess I’ve just gotten used to walking in here. My mistake Swanstar. I’m looking for Badgersniffle, is she here?”

Just then, before the leader had time to respond to his question, two fluffy black and white cats walked up to them; his own mate, who greeted him with a purr and a lick over the ear, and his sister, Badgersniffle. Taking a deep breath, he decided not to bother going to a private area, and instead he spoke; “Rippledream had her kits. She needs you right now.” The molly’s amber eyes looked up to meet Swanstar’s green orbs, and the leader nodded her approval wordlessly. Without verbalizing, Badgersniffle leapt into a run towards the island’s edge, and Smogtongue silently followed her into the water. The trip back to the celestials camp was completely silent, with both cats being lost in their thoughts until they slowed down to a walk just outside the church. The grey tom led the Islandclan molly through the building, gesturing with his head towards the white and grey shorthair who was curled up against the far wall of the auditorium hall, laying on some soft rabbit furs, with four black bundles at her stomach.

“Hey there Ripple..” Badger’s soft voice called out as she approached the resting family, and the new mother’s blue eyes widened in surprise, but the smile on her face was obvious. “Badger! I-I’m so sorry for everything. I-I made a stupid mistake and got pregnant, but I never wanted to hurt you or be with anyone else. You-you’re the only one I think about all the time, the one who has my heart… I-” The petite molly didnt have a chance to finish her rambling, because the darker molly quickly slipped between Ripple and the wall, curling her larger body around the grey mother’s more petite frame in a spooning position, and began to lick her grey ear. “I love you too Ripple, and I’m not going anywhere. Your family is my family; now tell me about our kits.” If it was possible for her to cry, the mother would be, and she leaned back into the comfort of Badger’s long fur. “Well, the all black tom is Ravenkit, the black tom with the white paws is Crowkit, the molly with the white on her nose is Gracklekit, and the molly with the white on her nose/chest/stomach/legs is Rookkit.”

So this was it? Her ancestral home.
She had heard much about it, tales and legends of times long past. Of mighty Clans, wars and joyful times. Of MoleClan, having taken the remains of all 4 and trying to persist into the future as one. And failing.
It was said to her and her siblings that their mother was a close descendant of one of those cats, the ones who lived in MoleClan before their final day, the last remnants of the Swamp Giants.

It was time. Time for her to do what she had traveled all the way here to do. To do what MoleClan once failed to. Revive the Clans, with SwampClan first. But unlike them, she had no warriors from the old Clans-

StarClan, was it? StarClan would know how to proceed from here.
Through the forest, up the river and into the hills, that's where you'll find a pond. Lay down the in the reeds, dip your head in the water and curl up on the shore, the stars will find you there...
Speaking truthfully, it seemed rather silly and batting at the small fish under the surface seemed like a better use of her time, but it was her only lead for the time being.
What little it was worth, the sun did warm her long pelt somewhat from above and she found herself drifting off into a nap sooner rather than later, snoozing in the cover of the reeds.
She expected little else besides a dream of one sort or another, hunting birds in the trees, perhaps?

It was nothing unusual where she found herself. A field of grass and a rustling of a bush nearby. She crept around it, sniffing briefly for prey, only for her nose to meet another.
And as Camas backed away, from behind the bush came a blue-grey cat, skinny and worn with age, body held on legs that seemed a bit too long for it.
"Greetings." He spoke, bowing his head respectfully, a gesture that Camas briefly copied despite her tense, battleready posture.
When the tom's gaze drifted away from her is when she turned around, seeing numerous other cats she couldn't name no matter how hard she tried. Her fur fluffed and spine curled, she worried that this may just be a nightmare.
"Relax." A patched molly came forward, clearly amused. "Can't have a coward leading a Clan, can we?" The short, scarred molly glanced around, particularly at a few other cats that came forward.
"Aye. A SwampClan cat is never afraid. But perhaps you need a family's backing first. It's dangerous alone." A fluffy giant of a tom, almost a bear to her, laughed along, coming close enough to bump her shoulder with his.

"Who are you?"
