"sunteller?" wolf that cries to moon called tentatively, nervously shuffling her paws outside of sunteller's burrow.
"yes, wolf?" dawn replied warmly, then she tilted her head and her eyes clouded with concern as she took note of wolf's anxiety.
"i've been sick to my stomach lately, and i was wondering, is there herbs you can give me? she said awkwardly. dawn beckoned for her come inside her den. wolf laid down on the feather nest set out for sunteller's patients, and dawn gently pressed her paws to wolf's side.
"there's a bit of swelling. have you been feeling nauseous?" sunteller asked, still touching wolf's side.
"is that bad?" she asked anxiously, nodding to answer sunteller's question.
"i think you might be pregnant."

Sunset's patrol was proving to be uneventful. The wanderer sighed and turned back to return to camp, saying to herself, "Why do I even bother?" Then she stopped. A thin cry for help sounded nearby. The she-cat raced over to find a family of cats huddling for cover against a large snake. The serpent's eyes were mere slits, focused on their youngest member, a small kit. Bird and Leaf must have heard it too, as the two patrolling burrowers came hurrying to help. Seeing the three grown cats, the reptile hissed one last time before slithering away. Sunset approached the father, a gray tabby tom, and asked, "Are you all right?" The tom nodded, relieved. Turning to his mate, a beautiful calico, the loner meowed heavily, "we lost a kit to a snake two days ago." The kit-mother meowed softly, "I hope that you can protect us?" Glancing at the other Tribe cats, Sunset meowed firmly, "Yes we will. We are part of a Tribe, the Tribe of the Scorching Desert." Bird added, "Yes, exactly. We are like a big family."

Coming back to camp, Sunset headed straight to Dawn's den and meowed, "Sunteller, come out please! We have new cats!" The lithe she-cat blinked and came to see the family of five standing uncomfortably nearby. The Tribe-Healer exclaimed, "Welcome!" and hurried to look over the mother and the kit. Sunteller's three kits tumbled out of the den behind their mother, staring at the new arrivals with wide eyes.

[ Sunset, Leaf, and Bird come across a family of loners. They were being stalked by a snake,
but the appearance of Tribe cats scared it away. The mother may need to be calmed down some first. Father / Mother / Daughter (to-be age) - Son (to-be age) / Son (kit age) ]
[ Badger and Wolf catch rabbit x1. Wolf feels ill afterwards, and is told that she shouldn't have gone out hunting. ]
[ Dove learns the combat skill. ]
[ Moon learned the combat skill. ]
[ Leaf recommends checking the territory for snakes, just in case. ]

[ Sunset and Feather come across a young snake, but it slithers out of sight. They check all night, but there is no sign of any more of the creatures. Be on the lookout for a few posts hereafter, however. ]

[ Leaf and Bird successfully catches two (2) mice. They also catch one (1) owl with the help of a rogue. You can either accept them into the Tribe or chase them away. ]

"Cloud and Timber are dead!" Minnow panted as she ran into camp, her eyes misty with sorrow. The cats that had attacked were the cruelest Cave-guards she could imagine, unworthy of the graceful titles of her tribe. They`had come in a pack with cruel grins on their faces as they laun#hed their claws at innocent cats. Their newest prisoner, Rowan, sat with his eyes wide as soon as the accusing gazes shot him like the sun's beams. "Who?" he asked in innocent tones. "You did it!" Amber growled, eyes wide with shock and another emotion that was quickly stowed away. Rowan looked at her blankly. "Whoever you are, I didn't!" the tom had been acting like he had forgotten everything. Wolf curled his tail protectively around Azure as if he didn't want to be near the accused murderer. Pearl merely edged away as she could it believe a word of anything anyone said. Suddenly Dawnteller emerged from the crowd, eyes raw w)th anger and grief. "I thought I told you to get`out of my sight!" she snarled. "Most of the deaths of these cats are on your paws!" Ash, Wolf and Soot bowed their heads as Lavender's cheery smile was remembered. Minnow let out a whimper of grief as she collected all of th/se memories of the few times she and her mother had shared good`words. "Where's Cloud?" Lion burst in, wearily stretching after his slumber. "Timber promised me a mouse when 'e got back." The elder continued grumbling, unaware of the hush. "Is there a rat on my head or somethin'?" he grunted. Minnow forced herself not to break down like a kit. But grief caused her to shout with despair. "You old rat, don't you realize my mother is dead? Shadow - who thinks herself so high and mighty - just pranced about and killed her!" With that the she burst out of the cave, glad to have a chance to run free while she collected herself. Rowans head lifted as if the sun was rising. "I - Remember!" he cried.
"Shadow is planning to destroy us all and take the tribe over!"

The sun was going down as Rowan began to explain a plan he was making after conferring with Dawnteller. The prey-Hunters and a few Gale-Guardians were out undercover, plastering themselves with mud to be unrecognized. the Haze-Hunter to-bes jumped to and fro with their mentors, desperate to prove themselves with the job of scouts. Most of the gale-Guardians and a few of the prey-Hunters stayed behind along with the queens, other to-bes and Lion. Flicker was stationed by the entrance due to her sharp hearing, with Owl who was desperate to tell the Haze-Hunters she admired what to do. Pearl, Wolf and Ash protected Azure as she sat up in her nest. Lion strode back and forth like the noble creature he was named for, looking young and strong in preparation. A nearby battle cry was first heard by Flicker. "I hear them!" she cried. Dawnteller raised her head. "Everyone. This is no time to argue. We most work together to drive these filthy rouges out!" the cold streak that had previously been acknowledged by all tribe members had vanished as they united.

The first rouges poured in, slashing at everyone. Owl hurried outside while Flicker hurried out of the way with her claws bared. Dawnteller began to stride towards them, claws bared. However with a fond glance at her to-be as leaf scurried to her side the leader began to speak. "Leave!" she yowled at the rouges milling by the entrance with their claws bared. "This is our territory!" one of the rouges declared, stepping forward, tail lashing. Leaf and Dawnteller gave each other nods before striding forward. "One last chance. Leave," "Or fight!" the two healers yowled. "Attack!" the rouge called to her allies in an ear-splintering yowl. At the same time Dawnteller and Leaf launched themselves at the rouges. They smirked, only before claws hit them from behind.One swift rouge darted forward and started to slash at Azure, but as his claws nearly connected with his target, Ash leapt in front to take the bow. This rouge snarled, biting and slashing and snapping at the haze-Hunter with savage force. She fell down and tried stumbling to her feet but Pearl hurriedly stopped the she-cat, only getting Ash to her feet to lead her away so she would be out of the way before licking Ash's wounds. Wolf let out a small whimper as he saw his mother badly hurt but fought with double the force he would have to make sure no one else might be hurt that way.

A battle-scarred old rouge launched himself at Minnow as she stared around blankly. She jolted into attention just as he suddenly brought out his claws and lashed at her ears. Suddenly she recognized his dark grey pelt and brought out her claws. "You..." The tom slowed down his claws. "You killed my mother!" she yowled, her claws unsheathing as she rewinded the ambush in her mind. His green eyes glinted with mock sympathy. "Poor kitten lose her mother?" he asked. "Run home to your father then. Wail and weep at him." Minnow bared her teeth. " I never knew my father!" she wailed. The rouge narrowed his eyes, before swiping at her. "I knew him." he smirked. "Who is he then? One of those stupid rouges?" Minnow asked, her gaze curious. Both cats' claws were no longer out.
"No. I am your father. And I will destroy you just like I destroyed your mother."
with that he took her surprise and lunged at her, ready to bite her throat, as she gaped in horror and disgust. Suddenly something flashed in front of her, and just as he swiped his claws the mysterious cat took it head on proudly. As Minnow widened her eyes she realized who it was. "rat! You leave her alone. If you kill your own kin then you must be desperate." Lion! "Well you have nothing at all. Not even some kit unfortunate enough to be your son." with that he tried to strike a killing blow. "You've lost everything! I have nothing to lose. If you are killing defenceless cats then I would do everything in my power to stop you." just as the blow struck Lion gave a defiant smile before dropping to the ground. "It's your turn to be the hero, Minnow. This is your destiny." Lion whispered one last time,
a small smile coming to his lips before he closed his eyes one last time. "Thank you for giving me the strength to do this. I owe you my life." Minnow muttered respectfully before slashing at her father. "I am not your daughter, you disgusting rouge!" with that she struck at his throat, and as her father's life ebbed away he croaked, "You have spirit. I wasn't able to overcome that." He paused, gasping for breath. "I'm sorry."

"I've waited a long time for this, Dawnteller. I am the Duskreader of my tribe and soon I shall be the leader of your tribe too." Shadow relished the words on her tounge as Dawnteller hissed. "Afraid to fight me for leadership over these scrawny excuses for cats?" she purred. "Leave them out of this! They are my family and I shall not lose them to your dishonourable claws." with that comment both leaders lashed out, clawing and snapping before stepping back to get their breath. Evil glances crossed back and forth the two sides. Without warning Dawnteller launched herself at Shadow, causing her to nearly topple over. With a growl Shadow righted herself before extending her claws and widening her jaws so every cat could see her teeth. Like a rabid dog, Shadow attacked again and again, but as she paused Dawnteller raked her claws over Shadow's eyes, causing the black she-cat to shriek. Without looking Shadow knew both of them were injured. Her head felt light and dizzy. Feebly, she reached out a paw to make Dawnteller lose her grip on the rocks but instead her paw connected with Dawnteller's muzzle, causing her to fall over. While falling Dawnteller swiped at her paws, so both she-cats fell down.

"Dawnteller!" Leaf ran forward to her fallen mentor. Nobody else spoke, apart from most of the rouges running off in terror. A few rouges stayed, but started backing away. Olive grasped her courage. The tribe of shimmering dawn didn't matter to her. Her true leader did. "Shadow?" she asked softly, ignoring the gasps at her betrayal. "I'm here for you. They may have abandoned you but I'm here. two green eyes filled with gratitude and terror looked up. "They're going to send me where the bad cats go, aren't they?" she rasped weakly. "I want to go with you, wherever you turn up! I won't abandon you, even if the stars have." Olive promised, sitting next to her leader. Shadow's green eyes were sharp with fear, yet a calm tone edged her fading voice."Olive...I'm not seeing tomorrow.The stars hate me. But thank you... For being there." the last tear the leader would shed landed on her loyal warrior's pelt as her spirit left. "Wait! I love you Shadow! Don't leave me!" thorns gripped Olive's heart as she lay her head on her leader's flank. She was gone.
"She's gone. She has actually gone." Leaf's head bowed, shielding her tears. "Dawnteller, we did it!" Swan purred joyfully, oblivious to Leaf's words. "Shadow's-" Dawn stopped. "Dawnteller?" her words slowly forcing themselves out. "Dawnteller! Wake up!" Swan insisted, yowling her words. Leaf remembered her mother had said that Swan was one of the first cats, as was Oak, her mate and herself, so Leaf could feel her pain. When she used to play with Timber as a kit with her siblings it had been fun, but when he had been ambushed all the to-bes had grieved. "Swan... She's gone." she said softly, her eyes rimmed with sadness. "Dawn?" when Swan had joined the tribe as the second cat Dawnteller had still been referred to as Dawn. "Leaf?" Oak asked. "Is Dawnteller okay?" interrupted Wind, her eyes wide with curiosity and... fear? Acorn stood between the two groups, the smaller one of Olive bent over Shadow with terror in her eyes and the one where Leaf grew increasingly flustered. He remembered that day, playing hide-and-seek in the snow with his older sister, playing in the puddles, hunting together... although he hadn't had a strong bond with the leader he had lots of respects, yet for his sister they had always had fun together. Just as he was about to ask what was going on Leaf's solemn cry filled the air."Dawnteller is dead!"

weather: it is getting warmer! green-leaf is just around the corner. prey and herbs are flourishing, kittings will pass smoothly, greencough and whitecough are extremely uncommon. cats will be more abundant and willing to join the tribe. be wary, though - predators are also plentiful!

weather;it's summer time! the weather is hot and prey is nice and superfluous from spring-time. cats are roaming around looking for safe places and shelters from the predators that are heavily active around this time of year. be careful sending cats out on more than one patrol!

[ the bear turns out to be an adolescent, and puts up only a short fight. however, cormorant sprains her paw chasing the bear out of the territory, dew's shoulder is clawed and he is unable to move himself without further damaging his wound, and eagle's tail has been bitten and broke. there is a chance he could lose it. the rest have minor scrapes and bruises- but their pride in having defended their territory and successfully chased away the bear shines brightly. many apart of the patrol wonder if they would have defeated the predator had this cat not shown up in the nick of time! perhaps they could be a good tribe-mate if convinced in the value... ]

[ Twig, Ebony, and Dragonfly patrol the border near Silverleaf Forest, while providing protection for the hunting patrol. ]
[ Stoneskipper goes looking for herbs. Sapling follows him to refamiliarize herself with the territory + stretch her limbs properly. ]
[ Training: Twig teaches Ebony tracking. ]
[ Training: Flight teaches Meadow hunting. ]
[ Training: Needle teaches Sun hunting (Tribe style). ]

Flight, Meadow, Needle, and Sun hunt, the Tribe-Guards close, they don't venture too far, unsure of what to make of Stoneskipper's recent prophecy, he had not kept it to himself very well, and soon the whole tribe knew, including the kits, except for small Bird, who is deaf, and cannot hear anything the tribe talks about.
Lately, Stoneskipper has been restless, always checking on Dew and the kits, especially Bird, who he frets about often because of her deafness. They figured it out sometime after she was born. Bird had not been responding to Dew, who was frantic about it since the other kits eyes were open and were playing around. Bird was just sitting there, her eyes still closed. Dew's eyes were closed a day after the other kits and Stoneskipper began to worry, he tried to help the kitten, he soothed her, but she would not respond, not a single mew. The day after, her eyes opened, bright blue, like her mothers, but when Bird began to venture out of the den, her mother would call for her, but no response. Not a head turn, not a complaint. Stoneskipper began to test Bird. He had heard about this disease, 'deafness' they called it. But he had yet to see it in a cat, until then. Stoneskipper officially declared Bird 'deaf' and broke the news to Dew. This of course, devastated her, but she loved the kit all the same. The healer's suspicions about the prophecy and Bird and Dew began to grow, but he kept his muzzle shut.

The weather is hot and prey is nice and superfluous from spring-time. Cats are roaming around looking for safe places and shelters from the predators that are heavily active around this time of year. Be careful sending cats out on more than one patrol!

-Weather Report-
Current Season: Summer
The weather is hot and prey is nice and superfluous from spring-time. Cats are roaming around looking for safe places and shelters from the predators that are heavily active around this time of year. Be careful sending cats out on more than one patrol!

After a lot of running after prey and freezing in the deep snow while stalking, Sand's work had finally just paid off. He now had a rabbit to show for his efforts. He sat down briefly, drinking in the scent and catching his breath after chasing this hunk of stringy meat. A rustle caught his attention. The tom stood up, looking in the direction of the sound. He slowly drew near it, but the next thing he knew, there was a pain in his side and he was laying in the snow. He got up swiftly, hissing at the flame-pelted creature that had taken his catch and was trying to run away with it. Jumping on its back and clawing at the fur like a rabid animal, he hissed and yowled at it to give back his prey. The fox kept running, making a series of sudden turns and twisting, jumping into the air to toss him off, but he held on. Desperate, the fox even rolled in the snow and banged against tree trunks. The spotted tom was slowly losing his grip and the last he saw of that fox was when he ended up swerving to the side just enough for his head to get bashed against a tree. His vision blacked out and when he got back up to his paws, all was empty. Nothing but the fading scent of fox, the trail left in the snow and silence all around. Unsteady and dizzy, he sighed and headed back to camp emptypawed.

Shadow was left alone...all alone...in an empty...quiet camp...He sat at the entrance, staring out into the distance, cherishing any sign of life out there. His ear flicked as something light and soft touched his tail. The tom spun around, catching a feather under his paws. The tabby purred, playing with a brown feather, rolling around in the snow, tossing it up in the air, pouncing on it, chewing on it. It was a blast and he didn't even feel the cold despite the stinging wind and his completely soaked pelt...
That night, he couldn't stop sneezing, however. Possibly a cause for alarm.
