"Hey," Connor said as he stood up, pacing a few feet off to pluck a dandelion he'd spotted. "Watch this." He sat back down and held the dandelion out and gently blew it, the little white seeds started to explode off and fly in the directions towards Tania, amused, she giggled as a few landed on her face, immediately blending in to her white fur.
"What are those?" She laughed, her laughter was sweet and soft.
"I believe they're called dandelions." Connor said as he turned around to pick another, Tania stood up to sit closer to him. With another in his paw, he blew it, this time the seeds settled on Tania's snout.
That was when Connor had unexpectedly leaned in and gave her a lick on her neck. She froze in shock and felt a burning sensation throughout her body. But before they could say anything else, they heard the sound of footsteps from a distance. "Alpha!"

"Yes, we have to head off now or we'll be very late." Koda said as he approached the pack, just in time Artermis had also returned. "And also, meet our new member, Elan."

The Northern Stars consume nothing at the moment. Need more food. (5 servings).
Norman is out of duty until next post.

The hunting patrol hide their catch, leaving Shiloh behind to watch their already caught prey. The knew it would be hard to find prey this winter, but the pack was also fighters. They could get through it together.

The hunting patrol splits up in to two groups. Wallen, Akira, and Amber continue to patrol while the remain dogs return to camp. When Brittany and her group return to camp Boss informs them about the badger. The others agree to go with Boss to chase the badger off.

Parker and Bear return to camp, the shaman quickly going to Bandit and giving the male some poppyseeds. The shaman then has Bear go check on Norman to make sure the young dog was doing alright.

Bear helps Parker out while every one else is out and about.
Thunder, Shiloh, June, Daisy, Rose, and Nina keep hunting.

Number of Dogs: 2 ♀ one ♂

"alpha...alpha, wake up!" moon's eyes flew open, her heart racing. "what is it? what happened?!" she asked hotly, her ears perked. nutmeg flinched back and snapped, "calm down! i found a dog who wanted a pack, so i brought him here!"

moon felt her heart slow, and embarrassment set in. "i-i'm sorry! just...wake me up calmly, yeah?" she stammered, and nutmeg scowled. "fine. should i send him in here?" she asked, her fur starting to lie flat again. moon cringed and nodded. "yes. again, so sorry."

nutmeg just rolled her eyes and walked out of her den. moon felt herself deflate, sighing dejectedly. how was she supposed to figure this whole alpha thing out? pack-mates were supposed to like each other, right? why did nutmeg seem to have a problem with her? moon sighed again, resting her head on the moss she had brought. at least she had caught that hare, and managed to gather bedding for all the dens. ...even if they weren't filled yet.

a quiet voice interrupted her musings. "moon crater, alpha of the moonlit waters kennel, may i enter?" "yes, you may." moon answered, standing up. a large grey dog walked into her den, his head down and tail tucked submissively between his legs. "i'm slate. the tiny one told me you were alpha of a pack, and looking for new members?" he asked, and moon nodded.

"this is true. tell me, why are you alone?" she asked, and the dog dipped his head. "no sad story here, just born in this forest." he said, his tone sincere. if it wasn't for the den echoing, she would probably not hear a word he was saying. she looked into his eyes, debating on whether to accept him or not.

after a few moments of silence, she barked, "follow me." and brushed past him to the camp. she scrambed onto a fallen tree and howled to the sky, a universal sign for the kennel to gather. nutmeg slunk out of her den, sitting across from slate.

"slate, do you accept that when you join us, you will no longer hunt for yourself? you will hunt for the moonlit waters. you will fight for moonlit waters. you will no longer be an unrestrained dog, but become one with us. do you accept?" she asked, her eyes blazing.

slate nodded once, his expression certain and doubtless. "i accept this reality, and offer myself to the pack." he said softly, and moon looked at nutmeg. if the vote wasn't unanimous, slate would become a shiningclaw. if it was, however, he would become a blazingclaw. it all came down to nutmeg.

"i approve." nutmeg called, her high pitch carrying with the wind. moon tilted her head and howled, nutmeg and slate joining in. moon felt a thrill from head to tail. once the howls had dissipated into the air, she ordered, "slate, we'll go hunting again. nutmeg, the moons with no sun is here, so stock up on as many herbs as you can."

(I feel bad, you rolled for 6 pups. Then I did another roll to see how many are stillborn and it landed on 50%. And then Laika needs raspberry leaves. Also she is a klee kai and not a husky ^.^)

Thunder, Shiloh, June, Daisy, Rose and Nina caught a rabbit and a small bird.
Wallen, Akira and Amber found a sick Tenderpaw while on patrol. They will need coltsfoot.
Brittany, Slade, Azalea and Boss do not find the badger.
Brittany, Slade, Azalea and Boss run into Boss' old gang and they attack them. Slade was killed in the battle and Boss will need cobwebs for a wound he has received, but they managed to chase the group off.
On the way back from the gathering Kodiak, Stone, Korra and Eagle caught a rabbit and a squirrel.
Red is starving due to the lack of food!

Agustin just arrived at camp.He looked around happily,joy in his eyes as he limped to a few dogs with a swishing tail,until he landed on the alpha.''Good morning,alpha!I was wondering if I could stay here?I can hunt well,even though my three leged nature.'' Loki hadn't realised that the german shepherd had only three legs until now,but he trusted his instinct ''I think you will be a great addition.This is your home.Go and find a den and could you go with Benjamin and Peligro for a patrol?'' he asked with a smile and a nuzzle as Agustin ran as fast as he could to the two dogs with a jump.

Ulva was lying in her den,resting,as she suddenly heard a howl for her name.As she turned to Loki,she saw a short-haired german pointer standing next to him,Loki dipped his head with a generous smile.The dog was brown with white legs and accents and as he turned his head,he grinned as Ulva gasped.''Fuchs, wie geht es dir hier? Ich habe dich so lange gesucht!'' she whined in German and ran to him ''Nun, Ulva. Manche Dinge können niemals erklärt werden.'' he grinned and chuckled,rough accent thick, as he got tombleddown a hill,floppy ears dancing.

After some time with Fuchs,Ulva and Bruno were laying on a grassy hill,full of flowers,resting and spending time with eachother.Bruno's heart was racing,Ulva felt it.She looked up and whined ''whats wrong,Bruno?'' she asked as Bruno gulped,sighing to himself ''look,U-Ulva,I just love you so m-much and we've spent so much time toge-'' ''Will you be my mate?'' Number of Dogs: 2 ♀ two ♂

"what's your name?" moon asked the young dog, panting a bit. the hawk was tough to catch, but with the help of this mysterious dog it was quick.
"ah, i'm tapir. escaped my furless two walkers about a claw-moon ago." he said cheerfully, and moon glanced at slate.

"you...escaped? but how?" she asked, both curious and impressed. tapir sat down and began scratching his left ear. "wasn't that hard. kept barking at the barrier and they opened it, so i jumped the fence."

moon gave the younger dog another look, thoughts entering her head. "well tapir, how would you enjoy being a part of our kennel?" she asked, and the male stood up immediately, excitement in his eyes. "well i thought you would never ask!" he yipped, bouncing on his paws. moon chuckled and swatted him playfully. "they'll be time for that later. for now, let's get this prey back to camp! slate, since you had the killing bite, you can bring it to camp."

"thank you alpha." slate said, gingerly picking up the hawk. the trio trotted back to camp, making idle chit-chat on the way.

when they entered the camp, the first thing moon saw was nutmeg sunning herself on the rocks, soaking up the sunlight in her pelt. "nutmeg, we found a blazingclaw while hunting!" moon chirped excitedly, slate and tapir moving to the prey pile.

nutmeg just hummed, her eyes closed and her expression uncaring. "that's nice." she said, and moon wagged her tail. "it really is! his name is tapir, come meet him." moon said, and nutmeg groaned before opening one eye to look at moon. "fine." she said shortly, rolling over onto her stomach and springing to her paws. tapir noticed and bounded over, his tail wagging fiercely. slate followed at a steady pace behind him, watching moon.

"i'm tapir! i guess i'm a blazingclaw now, huh! it's nice to meet you! hey, can we eat? i'm hungry! tapir barked, and moon huffed with amusement. "we just caught that hawk, so yeah. we can split that hare, whaddaya say?" a chorus of agreements rose, and the kennel sat down to eat.

when everyone was finished, satisfied and full, moon stood up. "slate, tapir, go hunting. i'll check out borders. after declaring enemies at the gathering, nutmeg should stay in camp."

slate nodded and stood on his paws, motioning for tapir to follow him. "come on pup, let me show you how to really catch something." the two males walked out of camp, quietly talking about hunting techniques.

Elan and Atermis both carried a rabbit each in their jaws back to camp. As the kennel walked on, Connor spoke up.
"Alpha, do we stay put at this camp..or do we continue moving North?'
Koda turned around briefly, "We'll move."
Connor sighed deeply, as if purposely trying to let Koda hear him.
Something wrong?" Koda asked.
Connor shook his head no. "Well..it's just that the pack has been travelling constantly, and wherever we go, we don't have a proper place to call home, much less say trying to adapt to our new environment everytime."
Koda looked over the pack quickly, noticing that the pack did look rather tired, their heads drooping slightly and chest heaving for air.
"What do you say we rest for awhile, continue moving, and we'll set camp up far North?" Koda said.
"Alright Alpha, your call." Connor said.

[2 Rabbits have been added to the prey pile.]
[The kennel consumed a rabbit.]

Pack of Olympic Forest
Number of Dogs: 15 adults, 4 pups; 9 female, 10 male

Pie heard Raleigh's pawfalls as she drew near him, but he did not acknowledge them. Raleigh wasn't surprised; Pie had always been a stubborn young boy.

"I heard you got mad at Pebble and Bramble today," she instigated as she sat next to her son.

"Well, they had it comin'!" Pie growled.

Raleigh grew stern. "Pie, you jeopardized the pack because the group you were in was not able to focus on prey," she warned.

"Tough luck," Pie muttered.

"this pack is more than just you, you know," Raleigh growled. "You need to start thinking of other dogs, like your pups for starts."

Pie shot up and rounded on Raleigh. "Why does everyone say that?!"

Raleigh stood as well, but slower. "Because you are the father. You may not want them, but they are yours. So unless you can do something about that, you need to start taking care of them."

A cold gleam suddenly passed over Pie's eyes. Without a word, he turned on his pawpads and left.

Starkie lay in her den. She was full of remorse; she may have loathed Pie for being an absentee father, but she had neglected her pups, and Jazzie and Tuxie now had colds to show for her neglect. Suddenly, a form in the hollow entrance blotted out the wan winter light. She looked up and was startled to see Pie's silhouette. Wordlessly, the Airedale male lunged at mother and pups.

Meanwhile, the rest of the pack was oblivious to the family's drama. Pebble and Bramble and gone off on a hunt as they said, but Blue suspected it was more than a hunt. However, Blue had his own duties, namely taking the new Staffie Tank on the traditional initiation patrol. Jack and Freya were in a state of mixed feelings. They had two lovely pups, but Freya had birthed four bodies. Stitches had resolutely gone on a hunt despite the chilly air, taking Briar and Rocky with him. Rowdy and Mousie had gone on an emergency herb-hunt

Rocky calls his kennel to him, knowing what he needed to do.

"We have foxes in our territory. With new pups, we cannot let them stay. Baldr, bring Bil with and let's go remove the threat." Rocky said as the rest of them went back to guard camp.

Exhausted after the fight, the three dogs return to camp and go to bed immediately.

Apollo turned round from the water, casting one more glance at the falling water before staring out at the barren forest. In the corner of his eyes, the short coat of a well-muscled boxer could be seen. Instinctively turned his cream-furred head, he inspected the male for a moment, waiting for him to speak.

"The ancestors have sent me here in hopes of finding shelter in these chilly times. Is this spoken place here?" The male tilted his head, curious eyes looking at Apollo.

He nodded at the male, "This is Valiant Storms, a pack of dogs that are bound together by loyalty and strength. It is destined that you be here, now I must ask for your name." The kangal whisked his tail and started to move towards camp just as the male introduce himself as Chablis.

Once Apollo arrrived at camp, he took little time waiting before the nursery. Pushing past Valerik, the male poked his head in to see Laika curled around six pups, Lucian at her side whilst on the other side of the cave was Halcyon, Ace & Zariana. He noticed how unhappy the room felt, and suddenly knew what it was about. Though three pups were yipping joyfully, the other half remained unmoving. Laika's sobs drew in louder, her tongue still washing over the dead pups.

Apollo stepped out of the den, followed by Zariana who seemed to be in a hurry. He released a sigh, head lowered in defeat. He would be hosting a ceremony of life and death that day. He prayed to his ancestors that nothing bad would happen to Halycon and her pups.

The hunting patrol had returned, though they still didn't know what was going on. Deciding to wait tilil Halcyon had birthed her own pups, Apollo sent them for another round of hunting. He wanted to also see how Chablis was at hunting, as it was quite important to be a good hunter to support the pack. Apollo noticed that the dogs seemed a bit upset that they needed to go hunting instead of see the new pups.

Apollo didn't feel quite sure that the pack should see and hear about the news, and he knew that Laika would need to grieve about it first before announcing it to the entire pack. He wasn't stupid, as he knew too much all at once could be overbearing to the mother.
