Norman is out of duty for 1 more post.

Boss came up to the sleeping Charlie and Red. Red pressed himself against Charlie and the female tried to curl around him, they both seemed so warm. The large male couldn't help but smile at the sight and wished he could join the two but knew Charlie would bite his ears off. A cool breeze blew past and it made Boss shiver, he found himself not able to resist as he padded closer to the two and pressed against Red's other side. He carefully looked over at Charlie but saw that she had not opened her eyes, either she was exhausted from the day's work or she chose to ignore him. Boss wanted to know which it was but decided to ask in the morning, something he grew to regret as the thoughts gnawed at his mind.

Parker gives Kodiak the poppyseeds and promises Bandit that the next morning he would go out and get some for him. Bandit nods, fully understanding that Kodiak needed them more at the moment.

Thunder and his hunting patrol return to camp, exhausted and ready to relax for the night. Brittany and her tenderpaw return with a starving dog, quickly making sure they are fed. Once making sure the new dog was taking care of Brittany had them introduce themselves to the pack. "I am Shiloh." The female barks, happy to have the pack to help her. Kodiak nods his head a bit, allowing the female to stay with them.

Kodiak sent the pack to bed, knowing it was late. He would wait to finish everything tomorrow morning.

The next morning Kodiak gathers the pack to introduce Red as a tenderpaw. Assigning the red pit to his beta Charlie. He knew that the pair had grown close over the past few moons and knew Charlie would make an excellent mentor for the rambunctious pup. Upon the short ceremony the alpha sent patrols out.

The alpha calls Stone, Korra and Parker to him, explaining to them about the gathering later that night. Parker informs Kodiak about how he would be staying behind and sending Eagle in his place. Kodiak nods his head before having his small group get prepared for the journey. Before Charlie headed out with Red Kodiak filled his beta in and left her in charge before he and his small group of dogs headed out for the Junkyard.

Charlie and Red Parker leave the caves together to beging training. Charlie takes Red out for some stealth training, excited to begin teaching the young pup.

Parker goes off to go hunting for poppyseeds, knowing he needed them for Bandit. Bear accompanies the shaman to help out while his mentor attends the gathering.

Shiloh joins the pack.
Thunder, Shiloh, June, Daisy, Rose, and Nina go hunting.

The clan gathered in a straight line outside the nursery, eagerly awaiting news on the pups. Rerria was at the front, fresh back from her meeting with the ancestors. She had faith in her Beta and believed she'd produce a healthy litter. From inside she could hear little squeaks, and happy cries from Kierat. All of a sudden, that stopped and was replacing by a quiet wail. That couldn't be anything good. The leader considered entering, and was about to when Waylar emerged. Quickly she read him. He appeared to have mixed emotions, and she couldn't tell if he was pleased or despondent. Respectfully, he nodded at his leader before speaking. "Juniper has been strong. She is well, and all pups have been born. Four, there was, though, only three were healthy. One was... one was stillborn." He almost had to choke out the last sentence, and Rerria felt pitiful, "The parents are both grieving their lost pup, and rejoicing in the life of the other three. Two faes and a brute. Umm, they're still deciding on names."
Rerria nodded and took this all in. It was so sad that they'd lost one, but the chances were always high for newborns. However, they shouldn't be looking at the bad things, but the good. Three new members! All that will surely grow into fine young ironteeth that will keep their kennel safe from harm.

Inside, Juniper was curled around her four pups, head resting gently on the stillborn as she sobbed. Her child was dead, and hadn't even been given a start in life. "I... I want to name her." she announced softly. Kierat leant in and pressed his nose against hers so that he too was touching his cold daughter. "Of course. She will need a name as she walks among the stars."
There was silence for a few seconds, then Juniper spoke one word.
"Alyhra."
Silence again. Solemnly, Byran watched. Deep down, he was so happy with his first birthing. But at the moment, he felt a deep sense of guilt. This pup could've been saved if he'd noticed that something was wrong before the birthing. There must've been a way. But it was too late now. "I should take Alyhra away. She'll need to be prepared for her burial." Gently, he parted the parents with his nose and picked up the pup as gently as he could. Now, they could focus on their living pups whilst he cleaned the body.

Mazey trotted into the cave and Billie stormed in after her, dropped a rabbit on the freshkill pile and sat down heavily. Ridge hurried over to her, eyes wide with worry. "What's wrong?"
"Worst hunting party ever! She didn't say a word and didn't even try to help me! The only reason we came back with the rabbit is because I caught it! She is too incompetent to continue the chase if it's further then a kangaroo tail away!" The female snarled, glaring at Mazey who was stretched out yawning like she was exhausted.
"I'm so sorry..." Ridge buried his nose into his mates fur, feeling guilty for making her do this. Mazey got up and left the cave, passing Red and two other dogs on their way in.
"Red. Welcome back. Who are these two newcomers?" Red stood in front of his alpha and beta, dipping his head respectfully before speaking.
"The little grey pup is Stormy! I found him at the border and thought I could bring him back here because he was looking for a home." He explained,
gazing down at young Stormy fondly.
"Of course, and the older one?"
"Oh yes! His name is Frost. We met him the way back and I think he asked where to find Roo Chasers..."
"What do you mean 'think?'" She asked, confused.
"Frost had strange dream and he now looking for Billie and Roo Chasers kennel."The new male said, bark deep and scratchy.
"Uh he talks kind of strangely so I wasn't completely sure what he was saying but I think I do know..." Everyone slowly recovered from the shock and glanced at one another.
"I suppose the ancestors fulfilled my request... Anyway, hello there!
I'm Billie and you must be Stormy!" The alpha said, gazing down at the young dog who sat at Reds paws happily.
"Yep! Red told me about you on the way here! He's pretty great you know!"Billie noticed Red's fur prickling with embarrassment and chuckled.
"Seems you have a little fan! How old are you kiddo?"
"6 months! My mumma told me I'm old enough to live and hunt for myself! Only problem is I don't know how to hunt... I guess I won't be living on my own either because I'm here with all of you!"
"Don't worry, Red will show you how to hunt! You're old enough to be a tenderpaw and since you like Red so much he can be your mentor!" Red stared at her while Stormy hopped around excitedly.
"Wow... Wow! Thankyou Billie! I'll do my best!" everyone looked at the cave entrance as a stone fell and Mazey came slinking in.
"Now everyone go get something to eat." Billie ordered, a slight growl in her throat. Red nodded and guided Stormy and Frost to the prey pile where Mazey was already nibbling at a rabbits leg. Ridge and Billie retreated a few steps until they sat just outside the shamans den. "Look at them all...
We're growing stronger every day! I wouldn't be able to do it without you though...I love you Ridge." She smiled, resting her head on his shoulder and blinking up at him.
"I love you too Billie..." Suddenly there was a loud gasp behind them and they spun around to see Bailey staring, eyes wide.
"Did you just say you love each other?"
"Bailey? We didn't know you were back yet! Yes and for our ancestors sake keep your voice down! We didn't want anyone to know..." She glanced at Ridge with dismay.
"What if you were about to have pups? I wouldn't know what to do because I wouldn't have the herbs prepared!" Bailey was panicking slightly and her fur was prickling.
"Ok, ok! Can you leave the topic alone and have a look at me? I've felt slightly dizzy and sick today."
"The first signs that you're expecting pups. I rest my case!" The red dog huffed and stomped back into her den.
"Well she knows... But hey we're going to have puppies!" Her little tail quivered with excitement as she gazed up at Ridge. He licked her head happily.
"Come on. Let's get the patrols ready." They got up and stood in front of the other dogs.
"Patrol time. Frost borders, Bailey herbs, Mazey camp and everyone else hunting." Bailey appeared again frowning.
"Oh no you don't! You're not going out when you are expecting!" Everyone gasped and barks of congratulations echoed around the cave.
"Fine... I'll stay at camp and Mazey will go hunting in my place." She sat down with a soft growl and watched as everyone left the cave without her.

The Misfit Growlers

Logan growled at this newcomer, they acted like they were invading his territory! "Get away from my territory!" he growled, he began to step over the border, letting out a low growl as he stepped closer, Logan got in front of his patrol and stood straight, staring deeply into the eye's of this trespasser, he let out a loud howl before speaking, "I am Logan.. beta of the Misfit Growlers! We do not take trespassers lightly anymore.." Logan barked, Poppy and Florida rising up beside Logan, the newcomer stood strong though, just letting his growl get bigger by the second, "Surprised you haven't backed away.. you know maybe Belle would let you join.. maybe" Logan barked, the newcomer followed Logan, Florida, and Poppy as they returned to camp, Florida and Poppy split from Logan while he lead the newcomer to the nursery, Sparrow, Bracken, and Lassie were sound asleep under Belle, "This loner wants to join us" Logan woofed, "I mean you kinda dragged me here but... okay" the newcomer barked quietly, "Your allowed to join.. but expect some dogs to be suspicious of you" Belle quietly barked, trying not to disturb her pups, Logan and the newcomer cautiously exited the nursery, "What's your name anyway?" Logan barked, "I'm Jet" he barked, before padding off to grab a bite of rabbit.
One moon later..
Belle had still not left the pups, not even for a second.. refusing to let them leave the warmth of the nursery till she knew for sure the cough was over.. Logan had to listen to her for what to do to the kennel, Logan had gone with Iris to go herb-hunting, while Sophie went training with Rookie, "So what herbs do we have to look for?" Logan asked, Iris chuckled, "Unless we really need a certain herb we don't have, we just go with the flow and find whatever comes our way" Iris barked, Logan was slightly confused, thinking only hunting required that.. but didn't bother questioning her.

Luzifer stayed inside with regret.He made a sleeping spot in the corner with moss and left over pelts to stay warm like the rest of the pups.

Duci was proud,today was the day that Mckenzie was turning into a irontooth.Mckenzie came outside,her fluffy coat bouncing,hearing Loki's call from afar as she ventured through camp.Loki seemed to be seaking to the stars,asking for a ceremony.

Loki travelled with hs gingerly light paws to the cliff he had not left since he was born.He closed his eyes ''oh,ancestors,send me a loyal dog and help us to find that poor Fuchs,please.'' he left with a smile.

As the ceremony ended,Duci congratulated her daughter with a motherly smile as Rocy/Coco came up to her.They became really good friends but have now felt the same pain.alot of it.Duci gasped and howled ''Loki!Basil!PUPS!'' they fell to a den with pain as Basil and Loki rushed.

[Rocy/Coco and Duci went into labour.]

Roxy/Coco gave birth to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 pups! One is stillborn and due to complications Roxy/Coco has passed away. A pup-mother will have to adopt her remaining pups or they will die.
Duci gave birth to 1, 2, 3, 4 pups! Two are stillborn and she will need chervil.

Most of the clan was hiding from the cold in their dens. The pups had started walking and were very curious about everything around them. Like Rerria had planned, the new elder, Harrin, was great at entertaining them. He was a big softie and the pups enjoyed spending time with him, and Juniper enjoyed the rest she got. Their mother enjoyed observing them. Eraelis was definitely the biggest, and looked the most like her. Cason and Maena looked more like their father, and thanks to their size were often bullied by their bigger sister. Juniper noticed that those two stuck together more than they stuck with Eraelis, and she could only hope that the pup didn't feel left out. Perhaps if Alyhra were alive she'd have someone to pair up with, unless she bullied her too... Thoughts like these made Juniper feel both sad and warm inside. Kierat also spent a lot of time talking to the pups and playing with them every so gently. Not play fighting yet, merely 'chase dad's tail' which always went down a treat. But, at the moment, Kierat was on patrol. There had been few patrols recently so one had been sent to ensure the borders were well. Another had been sent to stack up on food for winter. It was already very cold, and Bryan had warned the pups and elder to stay inside in fear of disease brought on by the cold. Waylar was also at a slight risk, so he stayed in the shaman den to teach his tenderpaw a bit about different herbs.

The dogs that were on the hunting patrol arrived back at camp, content that they had at least caught something. It had been pretty good, though more prey would've always been helpful. Apollo held the large bird in his jaws, his head raised pridefully. Caught off guard for a moment, Nessie took the chance to snatch the bird from him, a playful grin dancing across her face. Apollo couldn't help but let out a rumbling chuckle, trotting after his beta. That left the mates halcyon and Ace to talk, a I-told-you-so look crossing the lab's features. Ace rolled his eyes playfully, dodging her as she batted his muzzle with her paw gently.

The camp was calm at that moment of the afternoon, dogs sharing a conversation and relaxing themselves up until the loud howl of the pup-mother, Laika. Pain could be heard in the howl, and it was clear that the female had starting going into labor. The pack had snapped into action in just seconds, dogs waiting anxiously for what the higher-ranking dogs would say. Lucian looked especially worried, the male has grown attached to the female in the past weeks. He liked her wit and just kind nature.. even more than Nessie.

Though the two didn't say it to eachother, they were growing further apart. It just seemed like they had been enchanted by eachother for a few moons, though the spell dropped. Nessie had began to grow eyes for another.. though wasn't ready to speak openly about that.

Apollo bounded out of his den, his head swinging from side to side in alarm. He barged through the pack, ignoring all the questions to dogs asked him. The huge kangal went straight for the nursery, though was immediately stopped by Valerik, the wolf's body blocking the entrance of the cave. "Sorry, alpha. I've gotten orders from Zariana that no dog will step foot into this nursery until she has finished birthing. Too much stress could be put on Laika." He said to his alpha, looking briefly at his alpha, seeing the frustration in his eyes.

Apollo looked round at his kennel. He saw how anxious they were, so decided that they would need to occupy themselves. "Nessie will organize you into patrols, I'm going to speak to the ancestors." He said, giving his beta a quick nod before stalking off into the barren forest.

Nessie looked over the camp, quickly scanning over the dogs to see who could come on her hunting patrol. She didn't think it would be a wise decision to let Halcyon hunt, she was far too close to birthing herself. Lucian was just getting over a cold, and he was told to rest for a few more days if they wanted to be sure. Nessie liked to be sure. She studied Clover for a moment, the golden retriever tenderpaw was at Halcyons side. The collie supposed it wouldn't hurt for her to go on a hunt, besides, Patriot would surely want to teach her a thing or two. Thinking her patrol over for a moment, she nodded at herself before opening her mouth to speak. "Alright. Lucian & Halcyon will not join us on the hunt for obvious reasons, the rest will go with me in hopes of catching something. We will be busy, as pups are currently on the way and another litter will soon follow." She then briskly turned round, the patrol following after her.

"Dearest ancestors, I am here today on the behalf of my pack. Life is blooming, our newest member has begun the birth of her pups, and one of my seasoned ironteeth has also been blessed with a pregnancy. I hope that you will be on our side for this, as I realize how harsh a winter birth can get." He paused, thinking. He wasn't sure how the birth would go. It was winter, and they were suspectable to everything, it worried him frankly. "However, that is not what I have come for. I have come to ask for a powerful, tough irontooth to have for our pack. This is my request, thank you for your time." Apollo dipped his head respectively, then lifted his paw from the water of the river that the falls dropped into.

They were both from lineages of war kangals, some of the finest that their could be, which was why the people had chased after them. He only remembered bright lights, lots of yelling, and when he had hidden under the upturned roots of a tree, she hadn't been at his side. Did she find her own way back, was she caught? He wouldn't know. Giving his head a good shake to push away that thought, the brute than thought about how Laila's pups were. He didn't know if they were even birthed yet.. or made it. Still, they were the future of his pack, so they meant so much to him already.

The new dog followed behind the others, her face amazed. She had not thought that she would ever find them. Rocky was keenly interested in the pretty young female, and he hoped that he would be able to get to know her better.

Henna kept sniffling, even after getting back to camp. Rocky frowned and wondered if he expected too much of his kennel. He noticed that Bil was looking rather shaken when they got back from their less than successful hunt.

"What's wrong?" Baldr asked his tenderpaw.

"Eir, she had her pups." Bil said in a monotone.

Iggy looked shocked and took off running towards the nursery. After a few tense moments of the kennel watching after her, she came back out with a relieved smile.

"Three pups, one male and two female. Everyone is healthy and ok." She reported.

Rocky heaved a sigh, releasing the breath he did not realize he was holding and sent everyone to bed. He had to be more careful in the future.

~THE NEXT DAY~

Rocky awoke with a big yawn, thinking hard about what the day might bring.
