winter was harsh and unforgiving, claiming the lives of many animals that were too weak to make it through the chilling months. prey had been scarce for so long, yet with gentle rays of warm sunlight beginning to break through the gray clouds, spring had begun. the grass is now growing greener, small flower buds are forming and there are tiny leaves sprouting along branches. prey are crawling out from their dens, making hunting much easier.

Authun paced toward the low whining with purpose. His original intent was to find the source and kill it, nothing drove the male more crazy then insistent pups and their whining. When he found the source, however, he stopped short. The little pup sat before him, a shaking, whining mess. The little face looked up at him and his whining ended abruptly, eyes growing wide with fear. Authun demanded a story from the pup and he quickly explained. Something tugged at Authun's heartstrings, a shock that came not only to the pup but to Authun himself as well. The massive Kir scooped the pup in close with his huge paw and ran his tongue over his ears, "Listen here, little guy. You'll be safe with me. I'll teach you everything you need to know."

The two headed back to camp and when they arrived the whole kennel became alive with murmurs. Everyone whispered between themselves about the little puppy and how he'd managed to survive in the face of Authun.

Not shortly after Hakon and Torstein arrived with a tag-along. A fae that called herself Runa. Authun hardly paid her any mind as he stepped up to his own den and let out a loud, decisive bark, "Fangs!" Once everyone was settled around him he continued, "This," he gestured to the little pup with his snout, "is Jokul. He is officially in training to become our Falvilda. I expect everyone to treat him well and teach him everything they know about not only the gods, but life itself." A silence fell upon the pack as they digested the words, "Well!?" Authun demanded, "Yes, Kir!" the kennel resounded unanimously.

Svafar entered the den reserved for the pup-mothers, part of a vulture hanging in his jaws. Katla was carrying his pups, he couldn't just leave her to rot. As the male trotted in he set the vulture down in front of her, "I brought you this, Katla-Tor, you need to be strong while carrying pups." The female's head snapped up to her with a vicious snarl, "I don't need your help! I'm not crippled, you know!" The male recoiled and tilted his head gently, "I never suggested you did. But compassion for the one carrying their pups never hurt, you know." Katla scoffed in his face, "Yeah, well, listen here, just because you were assigned my mate doesn't mean I care for you or need you. You can forget I even exist. The only part of me that wants your attention is your pups and who knows what they even want yet." Svafar turned without another word and left the den.

Hakon paced near Torstein, a growl rumbling in his gut, "Why a pup!?" the male snapped in the direction of his partner, "What did that little scrap of meat do to deserve that privilege!?" Torstein sighed and shrugged his shoulders, "It's not your problem, Jaa-Hakon, leave it alone. Why are you so desperate to be the Falvilda, anyways, aren't you content with your lot?" Hakon laughed and looked at Torstein, "I've done nothing but prove myself! How can I be happy with nothing more then a patrolling peon!?" the male paced for a moment longer before pausing. A grin grew onto his maw so wide Torstein thought he'd gone a little insane. Hakon's eyes grew wide and when he spoke again it was a threatening, nearly silent mutter, "I'll kill him, Torstein-Ove... I'll kill him..."

~Now~
Leaves had started to bud on the trees and the world was buzzing with new life. Hazel had given birth earlier and even though one was a bit weak and sickly all seemed to be well. Another pup-mother had joined with her pups and was distressed, claiming to have lost one of them.
Camp that day was quiet, many dogs just basking in the welcoming sun, enjoying the peace and quiet while the rest of the kennel was on patrols. All except Leslie, who watched from the shadows of camp, waiting to strike. This was the day she had been waiting for, the day she would finally show this weak kennel what a real alpha was like. An alpha was not supposed to welcome rouges with open paws, nor let the dogs of the kennel roam around without so much as a leaf-full of discipline. They needed a strong alpha, someone like her. She would be the alpha this kennel needed.
Her eyes caught movement as she saw Chance slipping out of camp. If she was alpha that would never happen. Leslie let out a low growl and pushed herself up, it was time. She carefully stretched out each leg before moving forward, after all, she didn't want to have cramps if she had to fight for her rightful place as leader of this mangy kennel. Not that she was expecting a struggled, she doubted the feeble kennel even knew how to fight.
Leslie stepped forward, the dogs coming to life around her. Ant with his lithe body, muscles rippling beneath his spotted fur. Echo and her lanky legs, sleek body quivering with excitement. Lily's brindle fur and unwavering courage. Hazel, unfortunately, was occupied with her weakling pup but would join soon. These would be her captains and generals, the ones who would follow her to the end.
Leslie stopped at the base of the trail leading up to the Highledge and turned to the side in order to speak with Ant, faithfully at her side. "Mingle with croud; be ready to fight. I'm going to address our new subjects." With a nod Ant gathered Echo and Lily and headed to where the rest of the kennel was gathered. After making sure Ant and the rest were settled Leslie headed up the rocky path to the Highledge. About halfway up the kennel noticed her actions. Few lifted heads, drowsy in the welcoming warmth, but soon returned to relaxing, to comfortable to object to Leslie’s actions. Leslie reached the ledge and addressed the camp, “I thank you for your cooperation and understanding why this change must come,” Seraph inturupted and called up to her, “Change? I don’t see any change, and you know that only the alpha is supposed to be up there.” Leslie smiled, though her tail was unmoving, it was more like one of a predator. “Ah, thank you for so kindly pointing that out. I was just about to address that little problem.” She pauses and then elaborated,”I have so graciously decided to fill the role of your Alpha.” The kennel shared looks of unbelief. Maena surged forward, incredulous “Did something happen to Pepper? What about Rose or Levi?” Leslie’s grin darkened as her hackles started to rise. “No, you mouse-brain, I am your alpha now. Pepper was useless anyways.” Maena looked dubious then commented, “You can’t be Alpha...” Malice entered Leslie’s voice as she cut Maena off and said simply “Kill her” Ant lunged forward, effectively catching the little Papillon off guard. But before he could get there a flash passed in front of him, his strong jaw crunches on something decidedly not Maena as he fell to the ground, bowled over by Blizzard. The Alaskan Klee Kai was flung to the ground, lying motionless. In the chaos that followed no one had time to see if he still lived. They wouldn’t find until later that Serapis last breaths were spent protecting his mate.

Before the fight Blizzard urges his tender paw, Torra, to find a patrol to come to their rescue.

Lily dies somewhere along the way. No one knows who issued the killing blow.

Dakota looked through the snarling and tumbling crowd of fighting dogs, making eye contact with his brother. Ant, who he's loved and protected his whole life. He knew it was coming, he knew it would lead to this. Ant was not the same brother he once knew. Dakota tore his pained gaze from the once-familiar eyes of his brother's and joined the fray.

A howl ripped through the air, freezing the struggling dogs below. A lone Australian Shepherd stood atop the crest of the ridge, looking down at the panting dogs. She paused then rushed forward and barked, "Attack!" Dogs of many sizes and colors rushed into the camp, successfully alerted by Torra. The grappling canines lunged at one another once again, but this time the tide had turned.

Echo is trapped and can't flee with the rest, she gives up and decides to stay as and Omega. She didn't really believe Leslie would actually go through with it anyways, let alone have Ant kill a dog.

Hazel turned and fled, not towards the entrance as one might expect, but towards the nursery. Tufts of fur caught on the branches that made up the nursery's walls as she fought her way through the thicket, desperate to rescue at least one of her newborn pups from this savage pack. Finally, she tore through the back of the den, leaving behinds a large fraction of her double-coated fur, a started pup swinging from her jaws.

Chance trotted into camp, a grin of pure ecstasy on his merle face. Off in his own little world he didn't notice the chaotic camp until Pepper strode up and growled at him, "And just where have you been? You were supposed to guard the camp!" Chance looked around camp, startled, then changed the subject trying to defend himself, "It looks as if a couple hundred badgers stumbled through here, what happened?" Pepper took a deep breath, trying so hard not grab him around the throat and shake some sense into him, "Leslie and her gang decided they needed a new Alpha, good thing Torra was fast enough to alert the patrols before it could get any worse. Though I suppose it wouldn't have happened if someone had been here when they were supposed to" She ended in a growl, glaring across at the other Australian Shepherd. Chance took a step back and made up an excuse "How was I supposed to know this would happen? It's not like it's my fault anyways, you're the one who should keep a tighter leash on your dogs." Pepper sneered, "Thats what I was going to say. You are now in charge of the camp's clean-up and seeing to the injured needs." Verdict settled, Pepper whipped around before he say anything else and increase his chances of having his normally smug look forcefully wiped off his face.

The season of spring came, and glorious weather along with it. The dogs of Blue Moon Kennels spent plenty of time enjoying themselves and relaxing in the shade of the cherry blossom trees, enjoying the caress of a light breeze.

Their lives were getting easier. A lone pup-mother had joined their ranks, and the pack eagerly awaited their first litter. It did not matter that she was not an established member - growth and new life was an intoxicating joy that put everyone in the best of moods.

Even Dolly had lost her aggressive attitutude toward Zuli. The husky had been spending more and more time with Osiris, causing the other males to draw back from her, for fear of angering their leader. Once again Dolly had attention and the little cattle dog was absolutely delighted.

Trance was getting quite a big medicine store, and he secretly hoped to train one of the new pups as an apprentice, so he would have some help preparing everything in case there were ever a need to heal someone in the pack. Thus far they had not, and a medicine dog is one of the only pack members who feels delighted when their skills are not needed. Trance knew he may someday look back at this time and wish for it's return.

Neith was quite suspicious of the new regent, the muscly doberman aries. He was a fearless member who fit in instantly, along with his two sons Remus and Romulus. Neith found the whole thing suspicious despite the fact that he was sent to the empire by the gods.
As she crept to the mouth of her den, she let her piercing gaze flick through the camp, searching for the male. She let out a growl of frustration when she realized he wasn't present, and quickly drew her nose to the ground and began to scent about for his distinctively peppery aroma. Despite the many other scents that intruded her nose, Neith managed to sift through them and latch onto his, quickly following the trail.

"Neith, what are you doing?" The soft voice of the huntress Minerva filled her ears, and Neith jerked her head up, not bothering to disguise the blatant annoyance of being disrupted.

"Do you mind?" She snapped, eyes narrowing. Neith strode angrily past her without glancing back to see the hurt face of the secretly pregnant she-dog.
Her search was set into place once again, and she had quickly regained the trail that would hopefully lead to the regent. Neith padded almost silently through the foliage, ears erect and alert as she advanced closer to the location of Aries. She froze as a quiet voice—muffled by the blooming shrubbery around her— reached her. She moved closer, taking tentative steps as she became closer. Pushing her head through a bush, she soon saw a large figure next to two much smaller ones.
Aries and his sons, Remus and Romulus.

"Good job boys, those moves will be very helpful in battle." Aries complimented.
"Why are we doing this, again?" Romulus asked, tipping his head.
Remus shoved him with his shoulders. "Because we should be prepared for our cadetship, idiot."
Aries quickly responded to scold Remus. "Remus, that is no way to speak to your brother." He looked sympathetically to Romulus, "The tests you will face as a cadet will be tough, so you must train even before becoming one for a higher rate of success. "
"Are we doing good?" Romulus asked, Remus looked up at his father hopefully as they anticipated his response.
The huge Doberman tucked the two into his chest with a smile, looking down at them. "Of course. Your mother would be very proud."

Neith felted interest pull at her as she saw his sudden look of pain at mention of the pups mother. She honed her attention onto Remus & Romulus, watching as they showed keen interest yet the same sadness.

"Tell us the story about mum and the dog-catchers again!" Remus asked excitedly.
Aries rolled his eyes. "You've heard that one so many times. Why don't I tell you about when me and Pachket met?" The looks in his son's eyes were enough for him to continue. "Well, I had just ran away from my owners and his dogs were on my back, trying to bring me back even if it meant dragging my dead body back. I made one bad move and I was caught in an alley, no way out." He smirked at the shocked faces of his progenies. "I thought that was that. I was prepared to fight, but with five of them and one of me I had slim chances."
His eyes glittered as he continued. "Then, your mom came in. Her bark was like thunder rumbling in a storm, and she sent her pack of dogs on those evil dogs with just a blink of conformation. She fought like mad, and her small group of friends owned my former comrades. They went running with their tails between their legs. She told me her name and invited me into her group. We stuck together after that, we were the fearsome duo." He smiled softly as the pups barked their delight, and with a quick flick of his paw and sent them back on the trail back to camp. His shoulders slumped after they left, sadness overcoming him as he went to go back to camp.

"But I guess even the best fall." He murmured.

Territory:
The territory mostly resides in a forest that has lots of uneven ground and overgrowing branches, because of this, the dogs of The Forgotten are built specially with strong limbs and sleek and agile bodies, blessed with the ability to climb trees and be silent, this dogs can come and go without anyone noticing, almost like they were assassins.

Their den resides in a small cave that is strategically hidden amongst the vegetations and trees, and the dogs can be found usually sunbathing in a small ravine.

"And so we will bite back twice as hard."

Reputation & Nature:
Because of their seldom appearances, they were nicknamed "Shadow dogs", for they do not choose to appear in front of intruders but rather stalk them from above in the overhanging branches, if need be, they will then show themselves.
The dogs in the kennel are known to be hostile towards outsiders, trust does not come by easily to them and it requires lots of patience in order to gain theirs, however, though, they can be friendly and welcoming if they sense no threat in a particular creature.

The alpha of the kennel is the most important member of the family, he is headstrong and resilient, and just like the others, chooses to remain in the shadows without being known. Dogs in the kennel has deep respect for the alpha and are willing to risk anything for him.
