I can never sleep, my average would roughly be 5 hours a night but I've been sick for almost two weeks now so it's been pretty bad 😭

my company's christmas event tomorrow. they're putting up a whole damn christmas market with food trucks and mulled wine this year, so i'm looking forward to enjoying some good food and hot beverages while chatting with my colleagues

^ one of the best things you can do is get out of bed fully and do something tbh. your brain should associate your bed with sleep, but the activities you do outside of bed also shouldn't necessarily be stimulating or rewarding in any way since that doesn't promote sleepiness. though there's also professionals who claim the opposite, to just lay there with eyes closed and focus on your breathing or put on ambience to focus on so you stop thinking like "oh god i can't sleep why can't i sleep i didn't have caffeine i did this and that and this to promote sleep why can't i sleep", so,,,, who knows who's right lol. best of luck to you and get well soon!

There are two contenders, which also happen to be my only two pairs of knee-high socks lmao. In terms of appearance, a black-and-white striped pair; in terms of comfort, a thicker black pair with three white stripes near the top.

rui kamishiro from project sekai! he's just a really silly goofy character who i want to kill and destroy (affectionately). i think hes really neat and i think ab him all the time among other characters but i do not think i could comprehensively write out all of my Thoughts. i jsut think his character has like. the perfect balance between just being a funny guy but also being able to make me shed real tears. the whole concept of a lonely person being able to finally find a place where they can truly be themselves and share their passions with the people around them is something that can be so personal... also his dynamic w/ tsukasa is everything to me they're both such weirdos but it's so evident how much trust they have for eachother, but this also extends to his interactions with the entirety of wxs because it's so obvious how much he cares for every single one of them .. makes me so [breaks into tears]

• not Great. idk i'm feeling Things, some nice, some...not, all overwhelming.
  but ANYWAY, uhhh that's hard to say. i suppose it depends on what you mean by 'identity'. if you mean gender identity, i'd say i try to dress somewhat masculine, but i love dresses and skirts. i don't actually see myself as all that masculine. it's been difficult for me figuring out whether i'm a nonbinary person or a nonbinary man because most of the time i feel like neither. i just...Am:tm: but agender doesn't necessarily feel right, either. i would dress more femininely but i am scared of being misgendered.
  if you mean identity in regards to my personality, i don't know. i guess i mainly see clothes as a burden, as that's pretty much what they've been to me my entire life. i'd go so far as to call them a necessary evil. so, style isn't my first thought when it comes to clothes. i could describe my style as,, fairly average. i wear mainly t-shirts and jeans (or pajama bottoms, if i'm at home). i also have a polyester zip-up hoodie that i wear all of the time, even when it's hot. i'd like to express myself more with clothing but finances and sensory issues have been a major roadblock with clothing my entire life. so yeah. i guess that could be emblematic of what i am as a person. i'm very much an idealist, and i have fantasies of little things and big that most likely never will and in some cases can't come into fruition. so, i do what i have to in order to Be A Person. and i hold onto my dreams but at the end of the day they're just...dreams

lately I’ve really been liking doing digital art!! I used to be not so good at it, art is subjective but, lately I’ve been digitizing my traditional drawings and I’ve really been liking it a lot!!

Ok, so I'm one of those people who is animal-mad, and the other day I was watching a documentary about the reef and it was talking about bomb fishing. I was horrified because apparently bomb fishing kills 80% of the coral in some places. And a lot of the dead fish just sink to the bottom and don't even get collected. In case you don't know, bomb fishing is dropping a bomb in the water so the shockwave kills lots of fish. I would've watched more, but my mum turned it off to find something not depressing to watch. And people can be so cruel! I saw a program a couple weeks back. In it there was a dog chained in a dump on the side of the road. I'm not even going to try to describe the horrific condition he was in.
Now that I think of it, a lot of the shows I watch are depressing.

^I think it's despicable that people can be so cruel to animals when the animals have a lot more feelings than the people who abuse them!

hmm, i'm really concerned about global warming and climate change like any sane person LOL but my heart really aches for certain endangered species - elephants have been my fav animal since i was like a few days old pretty much and hearing how few are left and how poorly they're treated just breaks me :( however i find that a good cure to the anxiety/sadness is following a few trustworthy animal rescue foundations, i have a few that i love and whenever they pop up in my feed they make my day feel brighter and remind me that it's not all bad

^omg, i TOTALLY agree! my childhood dog was a rescue (rip<333) and luckily we were able to give him a long happy life filled with love after those first 5 months, but some things just stuck with him and it made me sick to see :( idk how people can be so awful

i really want classics (specficially roman/ancient greek antiquity) to be more accessible and approachable for people.

people around me avoid picking up a classics subject because "it's too smart" for them or "too hard" and in all honesty, learning a classical language is really difficult. but i really, really hate it when people get caught up in the elitism of the classics, that it's too intellectual for them, or the reverse, that only cultured intelligent people can appreciate the classics. it's no help that the history of classical antiquity has an established background for elitism (art history, i'm looking at you).

i am very happy for the efforts people have made recently though. stephen fry's mythos is an incredible read, and other kinds of literature like madeline miller's works, lore olympus, ariadne, and so many other works, have introduced mythology to a general audience. they make reading accessible (!!) and thus, greek mythology and ancient greek culture more accessible.
