"Lotusstar?" Fuzzribbon asked, padding up to the tortoiseshell nervously.
Lotusstar smiled at Fuzzribbon, then frowned as she saw the worried look on Fuzzribbon's face. "Is everything alright Fuzzribbon?"

Fuzzribbon looked down at the ground and said softly "I need to ask you...a favor." Lotusstar tilted her head "Are you injured?"
Fuzzribbon shook her head "No, I'm, I'm pregnant. And I need your help to-"

"Pregnant?" Lotusstar exclaimed "Fuzzribbon, that's wonderful, who's the lucky father?" She hadn't noticed Fuzzribbon getting close to any of the toms in the camp, though maybe it was Spiraldapple? He seemed to enjoy spending time with the curly furred she-cat. If Lotusstar had been paying attention to Fuzzribbon, rather than thinking about the toms, she might have noticed Fuzzribbon flinch slightly.

"I..." Fuzzribbon took a deep breath. "I have the right not to reveal their father. I am choosing to not say who he is."

Lotusstar frowned. She could think of a few reasons why Fuzzribbon might not want to reveal the father of her kits. "Did you have a fight with him? Is that why he's not here?"

"No," Fuzzribbon shook her head "But for reasons that....he asked me not to reveal, he can't be seen as the father of my kits right now."

Lotusstar frowned, but she nodded. "Very well. What did you need from me then?"

"I still want to train Daisypaw, I dont want him to feel like I don't care for him now that I'm expecting. I thought if I stayed in camp and taught him, then you could take him out into the woods and show him? Rhododendronpaw's taking her assessment this moon, if she passes, then you won't need to keep training her. Please Lotusstar, I really need your help."

Lotusstar sighed, and nodded again "I'll help you. But you keep it easy. And promise someday you'll tell me who the father is? I'm not expecting him to come up and be a father if he can't, but I would like to know who he is still."

Fuzzribbon shook her head. "That's a decision that both of us need to make, and we've agreed it would be better to stay quiet about it for now."

Lotusstar sat as she waited for Phoenix and Banshee to arrive. She'd just finished calling for the two deities.

She wasn't sure why but...something about Fuzzribbon's words had concerned her. None of the toms in the clan had a mate, so it could be any of them, but then...why keep it a secret?

Phoenix flamed into existence, and Banshee formed from the shadows. "Hello Lotusstar." Phoenix said softly. "How can we help you today?"

Lotusstar lifted her chin "I need to know who Fuzzribbon's mate is. She won't tell me but...it feels like there's something else she's keeping hidden about him. I just want to make sure he isn't going to hurt her, either physically or emotionally."

Phoenix shifted on her paws. "We know who he is," she said, glancing at Banshee, "But, Fuzzribbon is right. It is not a name that is ready to be shared. I know you don't like not knowing who he is Lotusstar, but...for the sake of Fuzzribbon, her kits and her mate, please do not go seeking out after this knowledge." With that said, Phoenix burst into flames and vanished.

Banshee lingered a few seconds longer. "Look, trust me or not, but I promise you Lotusstar, Fuzzribbon's mate is of no harm to her, and their kits are of no harm to the clan."[/b]

Surfbird approached camp while Venomstar was sunbathing in one of the only spots that offered light.
As Venomstar heard paw steps, he picked up his head and got ready to fight if needed. When he saw
a black and white cat in front of him, he relaxed only the slightest bit. As the cat introduced themselves,
Venomstar waited patiently for them to finish. As they did Venomstar stood up, "Alright listen,
I'm going to go easy on you. I don't fully trust Starclan, but I'll let you join without a test
because you are the first one here." Surfbird sat down, "A test?"
Venomstar got up, "Yes, a test to see if you have the strength needed for life in this clan."
Surfbird assured him that not only was he was pretty strong, but clever too. Venomstar was wary,
but believed him. "Alright, patrol and hunt with me. Then I'll see how special you are."

Surfbird was a little too excited and stepped on a pointy rock, he winced, but recovered before
Venomstar noticed. He laughed awkwardly, which rewarded him a stare, but nothing more.
Surfbird sighed in relief as Venomstar led them out of camp.
