It was a particularly hot day in the canyon and Daquir quickly grew tired from hunting. He hasn't even seen an animal yet today, nevertheless an animal he could eat. He decided to break under the shelter of an overhang from one of the rocks. Daquir rested his tired paws and the afternoon sun began to retire for the evening. After a while, the large leopard noticed an animal begin to make it's way to the river. Daquir stood up and began to quietly pursue the animal. As he got closer, he realized the animal was a skinny cougar. They stopped and almost dove into the water, lapping it up at an intense speed.
Daquir decided to defend the river from this intruder and charged at the cougar. He growled and ran straight into the other cat. The cougar and Daquir both fell into the water and they began to tussle in the shallow wake. The fight did not last much longer as Daquir noticed who his opponent was. "Azil?!"
The female stood and between pants answered "Daquir... is that... you?"
"Yes. I'm surprised you survived the drought this long."
"It hasn't been a forgiving sun cycle, that's for sure. But I have made it through. How is the tribe?" Azil looked at Daquir curiously. She hasn't seen another member of the Clay Tribe since left two sun cycles ago.
Daquir dropped his eyes. "It has also not been a successful cycle. In fact, the tribe had to fight many animals for the river and shade we possessed and slowly we began losing cats. It started with the elderly. They couldn't make the long trips to the river to drink and the heat became too much for them. Afterwards, it was the cubs. Those who did survive birth either died from dehydration or a cough from all the dust in the air. When the melting season's rains didn't come my father grew worried, but no one could have predicted a blister paw season this bad. Cats began to leave and when the tribe's numbers decreased to half we began losing territory and the river. I'm the only one that I know of to survive. My father was kicked by a bighorn and died from his injuries. Fennel couldn't get up one day and we had to leave him. Verstin took the last four remaining tribe members out of the canyon, but I decided to stay."
Azil was silent. She commented after a moment. "My cubs also did not make it. I hoped they would have been old enough to push through, but the drought was too long. It seems like the god Mylik is taking his revenge for his banishment. I hope Ree and Dayin can fix this situation soon or the rest of us will die too."
"You don't have to be alone through this drought. If we stick together we can get through it. You won't have to fight for the water and travel all day to find food. I'm building the Clay Roamers and continuing the glaring. It'll be even better than the first one."
Azil smiled. "For our sake, I hope so. Let's hunt. I'm starving."

Reida had finished up marking the borders, letting out a sigh as she stood on the mountain, gazing down below. The river had been nearby, she could hear it's gentle rushing water going down the mountain before she had forced herself around. She had decided it'd be best to start gathering up some prey, if more cats would join quicker than expected she needed to be prepared. She turned toward the area flourishing with trees and began her hunt.

The Silver Cloud Glaring live high in the mountains, so high up that clouds can form both in the camp and under it. The mountain they live on is broad, and consumes their entire territory, minus the edges which just barely start to dip down into the forests below. On the southern border there is a steep cliff face, this is where traitors are taken.

The animals of Silver Cloud are as follows: caracals, bobcats, lynx, ocelots, servals, tigers, leopards, snow leopards, cheetahs, and lions
(since servals are listed above I'm hoping caracals are allowed as they are similar size)

Silver Cloud only has female leaders. See, the first leader, the founder, got it in their head that because females can bear cubs, they are superior to males. This is a belief that has bled into the Glaring. Males may become shamans, but that's as high up the ladder they can go.

A white and black she-serval padded across the flat mountain-top. If you didn't know better, and the sky was clear, one would never assume that the mountain top was just that. It was so flat and broad, that standing in its exact center, you could trick yourself into thinking you were thousands of paw-steps below.

Waving her thin tail, the female padded through the forest, towards the clearing that would be her Glaring's camp. Just beyond that was the place she'd first heard from the ancestors, telling her to create her own glaring. It wasn't such a bad idea, really. She'd been kicked out of her old Glaring because of her so called 'wild ideas' if she was a Chieftess, then those under her couldn't disagree. Well, they could, but then they'd be kicked out.

Which was why she was going to speak to the ancestors, to ask for a fellow female who shared her views, and would make a proper second.

There was another cat among the ranks now. Luske had wandered through the rocky plains at the edge of the territory a few days ago. He had surprised River, who wasn't expecting a new member this quickly. He had told her that he was sent from the stars, whatever that meant. Realization hit River as she remembered her request. After that, she had amiably welcomed him. Since he was the second cat of the Mountaineers, River had made him second in command. So far, he had proved himself worthy of the rank, helping out with the glaring as much as he could. River sent up a silent prayer. 'Thank you, ancestors, for a good cat. Please help all of our members be as loyal as Luske.'
