Brownie sniffed the fresh winter air. "This is the perfect place to start a pack," she said with a delighted sigh. She and her mate, Musk, had met only a few months before and had traveled through the territories of many packs to reach their current destination.
"It sure is," replied Musk warily, looking around as though he expected to be under attack at any moment.
"You don't have to be on guard so much," chided Brownie. "No one would attack us here."
"So you think," Musk muttered.
Brownie yipped with laughter. "C'mon and play!" she said, wagging her tail and jumping around her mate. Musk's posture relaxed and he soon joined in, yipping and barking as the two played.

"This is the place?" Noether looked to her mate for confirmation. The forest before them looked promising, choked with trees which blocked out any light which the undergrowths may have thrived on, all blanketed with a carpet of white. It seemed promising enough to her eyes, but it was Keats who had been blessed by the Call of the Cedars and not her. The Call that had led them out of their former packlands (though the fact that a rouge wolf pack had attacked theirs and slaughtered the other remaining members hadn't hurt the decision to move) and bonded them to each other.
Noether and Keats had hardly known each other in the days Before, but after the Attack that left the two of them the only surviving members of the Pack of Deep Rooted Cedars sticking together had become their responsibility. Not necessarily their pleasure but their duty nonetheless. The she-wolf eyed Keats over again, not being able to push past the twinge of annoyance that he had to be the one to receive the call and not her, but she didn't let it show. The Cedars had chosen him, and according to tradition his word was now law. "As surely as the North Wind blows North and the Cedars grow Up, this is the place I saw." No matter how extravagant those words may be.
The pair soon nestled into their new camp- a copse of Cedars so closely nestled together they formed a nearly impenetrable wall of wood. The Cedars would protect them well in this place. Keats bowed low to the largest Cedar in the ring, and Noether followed suit. "May the Cedars watch over us on our New journey as they did our Old. May we remember and honor our Ancestors through their Traditions as they honored theirs for generations back and back." "May the Cedars watch over our camps, our bodies, and our hearts," Noether added, waiting until she heard Keats scrabble up from the dirt before she too rose. Their camp now blessed, the mated pair settled down to sleep after an exhausting day... on opposite sides of the camp of course.
The next morning rose clear and glistening, and as usual Keats was up first, admiring the icicles that dripped from the Cedar branches. He was murmuring something under his breath as Noether opened her bleary eyes to the new sun and saw him. "What do you think of?" She asked, adopting a modified Respectful Inquiry stance of touching her nose to the ground while she still lay. "Of how lucky we are the Cedars brought us here. After the Battle I had nigh given up. But then the Call came," Keats's voice adopted a dreamy tone, "And we were given the chance to start again." "And start again we shall. We shall hunt and then ask the Cedars' Blessing." Keats nodded his agreement, pups would let their pack thrive. He got to his paws and bowed to his mate, who rose to hers and gave him one in return. The pair then bowed to the largest Cedar, said a prayer for hunting, and then trotted off into the woods on a mission.

POV: Third-person limited, Yondu
Layla slowly inhaled the air as she eyed the fallen willow tree, its thick, tangled roots creating a small labyrinth of shelter. She curled her tail around Yondu's, continuing to watch the deceased tree. Yondu shuffled his position a bit, not really sure what his mate was doing and not sure what she expected him to do. Her nostrils flared slightly as she took in the air once again, as if testing it. Yondu allowed his mind to wander, and turned his head to the side, observing the new area. So far, Layla had not spoken a word all morning, so the alpha male wasn't expecting it when his mate barked a resounding "Yes."
Yondu, startled, jumped to the side, his pelt spiked. "What 'yes'?" He eyed Layla with worried eyes. Is she ok? What if something's wrong with her? Is she sick?! The male couldn't keep the panicked thoughts from his mind, but to his surprise, Layla just stood, and stretched.
"Yes, this is where we will make our Winter den, and yes, this is where we will have our pups." Was all she said before trotting off. "Now come on, I'm hungry."
Yondu sniffed, padding after his mate. She had been acting strange lately; more demanding than usual. And she thinks I'm the weird one! Suddenly, the dark wolf stopped in his tracts, eyeing Layla with shock in his eyes. "Wait.. did you just say 'our pups'?!"

[center]Cecila gazed up at the night sky, leaning against Pepper. The sky was clear, a dark black littered with glowing stars, floating among it a milky white moon. A zephyr blew by. "Pepper?" Cecila murmured to her mate, her companion.
"Yes, Cecila?" Pepper responded. The two tan wolves paused for a second.
"You ready to leave again?" "Yes. How about we get moving?" The pair stood up and continued walking through the even darker forest. The trees rustled.
The two stopped at a large pond with an island in the middle, and sipped together. They then moved on, and before long, stumbled upon a clearing. Large rocks lined it, and there were many hollowed-out trees near the sides. A couple of patches of tall grass sat in the clearing. The moonlight spilled onto the clearing like water from a waterfall. The pair entered the largest tree, and lay down to sleep together.
The next morning seemed to have came quickly. The two bounded up about the same time, and looked up. The sun was bright, illuminating their camp.
"Yeah, we'll need food. So how does a good hunt sound to you?" Pepper offered. Cecila pondered from a moment, then agreed. And the two set out to hunt for their newly-founded pack.

This pack resides in a forested valley surrounded by cold, towering mountains. Their territory currently consists of a redwood forest and a sacred cave-filled mountain. Through the forest there runs a river, starting from a waterfall that cascades from the tallest mountain they border, and ending as a dangerous, churning rapid that means certain death for those unfortunate souls to fall in it. The in between areas aren't quite as dangerous, and an absolute joy to swim in, but if you hear roaring water then jump out right away. The forest boasts some of the largest trees around, the fog that shrouds their tops giving the illusion of never-ending branches. Some of them even appear like woody mountains! Leafy shrubs litter the ground, and small flowers dot the ground giving it sparks of color. They also have a mountain of their own. While not the largest you'll see, it's filled with caverns and secrets. Dark holes that provide shelter, safety, and adventure. These are sacred to them, as they are the ones their ancestors first took shelter in, all those years ago. They use an outcropping near it's peak as a lookout post, but it's a dangerous path to the top, and only the most surefooted should go.
The wolves within are a rather tranquil group. They favor calm and intelligent minds, holding careful planning and wisdom in the highest regard. They are formal and somewhat aloof to others, attempting to hold an air of mystique that sometimes makes them appear as snobbish or arrogant. They also have a high sense of pride, leading them to be very passionate about themselves and their pack. In a physical regard, they tend to be tall and thin in build. They find agility and grace attractive. They aren't particularly weak, but strength is not a main priority. Their pawsteps are swift, yet as quiet as a mouse, and they tend to be ambush hunters, relying on outsmarting and outmanuevering their prey. Their fur typically pale brown or grays. Red is occasionally seen, the same with black, but white and gold colors are a rarity.
The Pack of the Quiet Breeze has been founded. You are blessed with a mated pair.

wish pack wolves aren't all what they seem. they are cautious, and cunning. their name is a false alarm, for they are intelligent and sly. while they're not completely evil, they will keep their guard up, and use intelligence AND muscle to find their way out of fights.
wish pack wolves usually have light fur, consisting of white fur, light grey fur, or cream fur. their eyes are usually blue, grey, or green, and they have thick coats to survive their frosty home. they eat fish and any rodents they can find.

dark edge is a pack of wolves who do not mess around. they are usually serious and have darker pelts, but there are times where there are wolves with lighter pelts. all wolves are accepted here as long as they know how to fight. they take fighting seriously and, if you cannot defend yourself, you will have to quickly learn. there is little sunlight in their territory which is why the name "dark edge" is fitting. it is like they are at the edge of darkness where light does not reach them. to the north, there is a dark forest where sunlight barely manages to make its way through the trees. to the south, there is a river that can be dangerous if one does not know how to swim. to the east, there is a mountain where the alpha pair go to howl to their ancestors. and, to the west, another dark forest that blocks out the sun.

The pack's name comes from the blinding darkness here during the night and dim lighting during the day. The forest has clearings where grazing animals may find food. The wolves tend to have darker pelts, rarely lighter gray, most commonly dark gray or black.
This pack is very family oriented and will most often attempt to kill trespassing wolves, relying on pups to be the source of prosperity for the pack. Very rarely would they accept rogues into their mongst. Due to their aggressive nature they will often make enemies with nearby packs which is likely to lead to wars and thus, death. Who knows, maybe that will wipe out the pack some day.
Pups are given their names at about 3 months old when they will be presented to the pack and named after their personality, habits/behavior and/or appearance.

morality snarled at his old alpha, his teeth bared. "i will make my own pack, and someday i will come back for you. i will make you regret this, because i am stronger than you will ever be." he gazed at the hostile pack members and asked, "who will come with me? i can promise you will have much better luck with me, rather than this starving pack - who has to eat fox food to survive winter. come join my new pack and be strong with me." there was silence for a moment, and then a lithe, fawn wolf stepped forward. "i will join you. this pack has done me no favors. i am fawna, and i will be your alpha female." fawna glared in contempt at her old pack, her lips curling over her teeth. the old pack leader growled a warning, and the two wolves left the camp, their paws flying on the frozen grass. they howled together, the sounds mingling in the wind. for a few days and nights they traveled high and low, looking for a suitable territory. "i don't want a territory in the mountains. we need a forest, something with cover overhead and water running." fawna nodded, her expression thoughtful. "hm, i agree. let's try and find something suitable. we should go south." the two wolves continued to walk together for about a week, and finally stopped. "this is the place. look here, water flows freely, we can smell prey, and right over there is the perfect place for our dens!" she yipped in happiness, her tail wagging back and forth. she winked at morality and added, "i assume we'll be sharing a den." morality nipped her ear playfully and rumbled, "of course we will, alpha." fawna wrestled him to the ground, her tail wagging furiously. "let's go hunt, alpha. after we hunt, we can go and check out our dens."

The two wolves huddled together in their newly found winter area. It really was serene, the perfect place for pups to frolic. Redwood's eyes flickered to her mate.
