I feel bad for her loosing her kits and how incredibly cruel the clans were to her, but she's still a murderer and she tried to kill Sandstorm and killed Spottedleaf who basically did nothing to her.

three, yes {spoiler alert for the last hope} mapleshade killed spottedleaf in a fight and spottedleaf died, disappearing from starclan altogether

Yes, she did kill three cats, but she was banished from her clan, lost her kits and her mate blamed her for it! It is just sad, I understand her really, she never really did anything (before she lost her kits and all that) and it makes sense that she wants revenge.

Hmm.. I really should finish reading the books. And that is sad, but I think that punishment might be equal to killing three innocent cats, if they were innocent.
