Splotch quickly showed herself to be a proficient hunter. Malibusky was impressed at this former kittypet, who was younger than him too, but could fend for herself much better. Thorn seemed to be noticing that too, and warming up to Splotch much more as the days passed. And Malibusky turned his attention to recruiting more cats, believing they would be stronger as a larger group.

After many days of fruitless searching, Malibusky finally encountered a cat foraging near a small twoleg food-pile house. As the other cat turned around, Malibusky was shocked to see scars over her body and a missing eye. Despite his reaction, the cat still waved in a friendly manner, padding up to him a respectful distance away, holding plants in her jaws.

Deeming her to be trustworthy, Malibusky brought her back to the Paradise Risen camp in a cafe in the fantasy section of the park. Thorn and Splotch both haven't met her before. She introduced herself as Softfern, and was a "medicine cat" in another group of cats, a Clan, in the past before their territory was overrun by a pack of dogs. At this, Thorn nodded, mentioning that there was a pack of dogs on the other end of the park as well. Softfern seemed nervous, but bravely continued her story: she wandered around until she found this place. She also told them about StarClan, and the traditions of the clans. Malibusky decided to adopt some of those traditions in tribute; following his lead, Splotch decided to pick a name Splotchsun, however, Thorn decided to stay as he was.

'Twas a moon of both great celebration and great tragedy. The clan welcomes not one but two new warriors with Valleybloom and Buckeyeblaze, but soon after, their mother Laurelstorm meets an untimely demise. Valleybloom and Buckeyeblaze find solace that at least she was able to witness their warrior ceremonies before passing.

Baywhisker, Buckeyeblaze, Valleybloom, Oakclaw, and Frostpaw sit vigil for Laurelstorm. Oakclaw, while normally standoffish, couldn't deny that the death of her mother affected her.

➼ ACTIONS.

Arroyoclan consumes x2 small fish and x1 other bird.

New arrivals.
Arroyoclan welcomes a nameless apprentice-aged cat, found alone and lost at the edge of the clan's territory. She is happy to stay with Arroyoclan and train as a warrior in exchange for food and shelter, and accepts the name Pelicanpaw. Beetletail is chosen to mentor her, though he is not the most ecstatic to be taking on an apprentice.

Buckeyepaw becomes a warrior after passing his assessment. He accepts the name Buckeyeblaze for his resilience.
Valleypaw, who was waiting for her brother to finish his apprenticeship before formally being promoted, accepts the name Valleybloom for her kind and thoughtful demeanor.

juncostalk is sleeping most of the pain away, but every time pumpkinseed applies something he makes it sound like he's dying. pumpkinseed gets very annoyed very quickly and says if he doesn't shut up, he'll let broomlift practice medicine on him and then he'll be in real pain.
this kinda hurts broomlift's feelings tbh. she doesn't say anything, though, it's not like she's actually a medicine cat. but she could be, if she wanted to. she could be a great medicine cat. she just. doesn't want to. she tries to shrug it off because she knows pumpkinseed didn't mean it that way, but it still rubs her the wrong way and proves that no one in the clan really trusts her yet. but can se blame them? she's new and she demanded some herbs, so. she isn't too mad.

meanwhile, lichenbite has been hyped up by deersun to ask out sorrelcreek. they go to the ledge where they had their first "date" and they have a picnic (aw cute). as the sun sets, lichenbite gushes about his feelings. he loves sorrelcreek so much. she is the most beautifulest cat he has ever seen, and he doesn't understand how he could be so lucky to even be in her presence. he asks if she would do him the absolute honor of becoming his mate. through tears, sorrecreek instantly says yes. she feels the same way and is so happy she wasn't just imagining his almost obvious feelings towards her. the two spend the night under the stars, basking in each other's presence.

wolverinestar is not as lovey-dovey. she is visited in her dreams by one of her ancestors, telling her she needs to get a move on and secure her legacy. what happened to juncostalk is living proof that things can change in a moment, and if she doesn't have a daughter to carry on her leadership, then she will have failed the stars and generations of she-cats before her. wolverinestar is angry at the stars, she's her own cat, she can decide when and IF she even wants kits. this baffles the cat and makes them disappear. wolverinestar knows she was lying; she has always wanted kits, but never knew the right time. she was kinda getting a bit older, but she hadn't met the right mate yet. she heard her mother scoff in her ear. she always said there was no such thing as "the right one." The leader was also worried about the process of raising her children. her mother sucked to say the least, and she didn't know how else to raise a cat other than the way she was raised. and she didn't want that to happen. so she needed to find the perfect father, one who was kind and patient, thoughtful and caring. and one she could stand looking at for the rest of her life. only one cat came to her mind, but she pushed it down. she cared about him too much to rope him into whatever she was in. so instead, she decided to put that off til tomorrow, and go to bed.

WEATHER !!

LEAFBARE || The days are cold. The nights are long. Snow falls periodically, coating the grass with a frosty sheen of ice. It is perhaps the hardest season, but many agree it to also be the most beautiful. Hungry predators prowl through the forests, greedy enough to attack fiercer opponents for the slightest chance at a measly scrap to eat. The levels of sickness rise to an almost unbearable point, and most agree on one thing. Life is hard.
