"-yssa. Alyssa, wake up."

Only silence greeted the little girl who stood in the doorway, illuminated by the streaks of sunshine peeping through the curtains behind her. A frown worked its way across her cheeks as she folded her arms over her body, shielding herself from the shadows as she took a step forward, cautiously placing her weight on the plush bathmat. The tile creaked beneath her 64 lbs., making her squeak and jump backwards, back into the hallway. "Alyssa, please! I always ask for stuff, but this time it's important. Please get up!" she hissed into the blackness.

Moments passed and still there was no response. The girl jumped back and forth from foot to foot, looking distressed. "Alyssa!" she whispered, craning her head to see if she should find her sibling in the dark room. Nothing but the phantom silhouette of the towel rack just beside the door caught her eye, making her shift with discomfort. "Alyssa..." she whined, drawing out the a sound.

Getting the urge that her sister simply wasn't going to wake up, the girl crept forward, tiptoeing as light as she could across the tan and white floor, streaks of black dirt sticking to her feet as she crossed the evidence of her sister's return home the night before. "Ali, I know you're-"

A hand suddenly latched around her neck, stopping her sentence halfway and making her choke on air. She found herself falling backwards and landing on the bone-chilling floor, the icy cracks pressing into her spine as she lay there, unable to breathe. Her hands reached up and clawed frantically at their wrist, desperate for oxygen. Hot breath washed over her ear as the owner of her chokehold leaned forward over her body. "What are you doing in my room?" the voice rasped, making the girl squeak louder and struggle harder.

"I'm sorry! I know I-" her voice jerked as the hold tightened, "I just needed you and you-" she coughed hard around the hand, struggling to finish. "You wouldn't get up..."
