for some, the first snows have arrived. for others, it is simply a chill in the air. regardless, all clans will experience leafbare as a harsh and unforgiving season. queens and kits are more likely to die during birth, prey will flee from patrols, and loners are less likely to stray from their warm city homes. in addition, predators and sicknesses abound, waiting for the chance to pick off the weak. all in all, it is best for a clan to be at full strength during this time.

Tigerfang stood hunched in the corner of the medicine cat's den, ears pinned back and growling low as his fur rises defensively. "What are you doing in here?" Blazepool snears at the strange cat. Tigerfang only hissed in response to his interrogator, unwilling to let even a word escape him. "Don't want to tell me? Fine. I'll call for the rest of my clan then..." Blazepool threatened, raising his head to call out for his denmates and clan. It was early in the morning, so much so that even the sun hadn't risen yet from its slumber, so Blazepool was the only one lucky enough to rise and meet the intruder. "No!" hissed Tigerfang quietly before Blazepool could cry out. But it was to no avail, as Blazepool disregarded the plea and began his call for help. Ears from the other two bodies in the den perked in the darkness and their heads rose soon after. Even sooner, the sound of paws running toward Blazepool's cries echoed beyond the den's exit. "Blazepool, what is the meaning of this?" Pinegaze hissed angrily. Valleyglow snapped at Pinegaze for her anger. "Pinegaze! Use your eyes before your tongue, there is a thief in here!" she growled, stepping closer to the defensive Tigerfang with herbs at his paws. "Who are you?" Valleyglow demanded. Tigerfang straightened his posture to face his confronter head-on, one that was clearly in better charge than the young tom that woke the whole clan. "I am Tigerfang of Deathclan!" He hissed proudly to the three medicine cats. He held his head higher to show off his pride in his clan and how he didn't fear mere medicine cats from a weak clan as Fireclan. Greystar stepped forward from the darkness, Forgottennose close to his side and the elders a bit behind him. "Where is Deathclan, if it is so mighty, and why does it need our herbs?" Greystar demanded answers and wouldn't tolerate waiting, as evident in his claws digging into the ground. "We are lead by the mighty Barkstar, and that is all you need to know! Fireclan will die to Deathclan!" Tigerfang hissed triumphantly. The three elders turned their heads and looked at one another. "Didn't-"
"Yes. They did."
"So you don't think it's..."
"It is... may Starclan help us and Timberstar guide us..." They all whispered to one another in concern.
Tawnypelt's face seemed flush at the den entrance, whiskers drooping and eyes wide. "No... no it can't... I got away I..." she stammered. Her kits, now apprentices, all looked up at their frazzled mother. "Mom, isn't that Tigerfang?" Salmonpaw croaked. "I thought we were safe and wouldn't see them again..." Tansypaw mewed worriedly. Tawnypelt couldn't respond to her young through her shock. It was too much seeing Tigerfang here, in the one place she thought was safest for her family.
Tigerfang heard the whispering around the den, but his ears adjusted to Tawnypelt's meows over all else. He turned his head to see the silhoette of her in the entrance with four apprentices around her feet. He grinned a twisted grin. "Good to see you harbor traitors here too..." he whispered to himself, too quiet for anyone to notice, but enough to let Tawnypelt know he knew she was here now. "Take Tigerfang to a place we can safely hold him. We will question him later... until then, I need Brindlestripe and Firtooth to keep an eye on him at all times during the day. Gatorhead and Silvertail will take night watch, and make sure we have one medicine cat awake throughout the nights." He commanded, turning to leave the den. Forgottennose helped Brindlestripe and Firtooth push Tigerfang to a safe spot to hold him in.

Lavenderfoot sat down in the clearing with exhaustion after waking up so early in the morning. He hunting patrol wasn't until the evening, so she had time to lay around and rest up for it. As she laid in the sun, ready to nap, she heard pawsteps coming closer to her from the side. She lifted her gaze to see a black tom standing beside her. "Hello..." Forgottennose meowed shyly. It had been so long since the two of them had spoken, between having apprentices then piling up on patrols there was no time for Lavenderfoot to feel her affection for him grow. "Hi, Forgottennose. Is there something you need me to do?" She inquired curiously. She usually only spoke to him to get tasks so it wasn't odd seeing him come over to assign her a task, but this time was different. "May... may I lay beside you? I am free right now so I thought it would be nice to rest with company..." he mewed like an apprentice asking their mentor for a break in training. Lavenderfoot's heart skipped and she nodded. "Of course, I'd be more than happy to have company." She replied, nodding her head to a space in the sun beside her. Forgottennose laid down beside her and kept his gaze to the ground. "It's getting colder, I fear for Tricklestep's litter. They will surely be suffering through Leaf-Bare." Lavenderfoot commented, looking at the nursery as Blazepool ran back and forth with herbs. Forgottennose looked over at the nursery, kits running all around it and playing as their proud mothers watch and fathers say hello. His heart ached. "I'm sure they will be fine, they are in good care." he commented nervously. Lavenderfoot smiled. "I agree!" She purred before laying her head down and closing her eyes to rest. Forgottennose looked at her finally, seeing her beginning to rest, and couldn't bring himself to say anything more that was on his mind. He rested his head as well and stared off until his patrol was gathering, leaving the sleeping Lavenderfoot alone until her patrol gathered her up later.

The mottled, patched warrior snuck around the side of the camp, camouflaged by the thick brambles, brown-and-white fur flattened against his pelt by stinging nettles to hide his strong SleetClan scent. "Cherrytooth," he hissed, and his clanmate wove towards her, flanked by two more petite cats, Houndpaw and Goosepaw. Across the other side of the camp, Bristleclaw signalled to Sleekflare and his apprentice Wavepaw. Narrowing his eyes, the mottled warrior leapt onto the mossy rock roof of the leader's den and stood proudly atop it. He unlatched his jaws, turned his muzzle to the starless sky, and howled like a dog. "SleetClan!" he yowled, eyes flashing furiously. "Attack!" He leapt down, ears flattened against his head, and pounced onto the Highthorns stump. Behind him, a pack of scarred, flea-bitten warriors flooded the camp. Their tails lashed, they bared their teeth and slid out their claws.

Bearsnarl was the one to awaken ThicketClan. "Attack! They're attacking!" he screeched, and ThicketClan cats swarmed out of their dens, fur on end and snarls marring their faces. Coltray half-panicked, pressing against Pikashine's side at the sight of so many of their old clanmates. Pikashine blinked hard then opened her eyes to a world already sprayed with blood. Swallowing, she curled her tail against her younger friend and ran with her to the nursery. Patchedslip was facing up to a huge grey tabby whose grimace was terrifying the squeaking kits behind her. The slim muzzle of Orielnose peeked out from in between the brambles just as the huge tabby flew at Patchedslip. Pikashine readied herself to leap but Bearsnarl got there first, so Pikashine focused on Orielnose: "Get the kit's out of camp, it's getting crazy," she mewed.

Pikashine nodded and left Bearsnarl, Dappledhowl, and the huge tabby tussling and squished into the nursery. Newtkit hopped forward, black-and-white fur fluffing out anxiously. "What's happening?" Ragwortkit and Lovagekit squeaked: "Where's Patchedslip? Is she okay?" Their sister Mallowkit huddled next to her friend, Shrikekit, her rosetted fur ruffled with nerves. Fluffkit and Curlkit sat upright by their mother, Steamsplash, and Dappledsplash huddled around her friend Patchedslip's kits. Pikashine went for the oldest first, hustling Newtkit out the back tunnel through the nursery thorns, followed by Mallowkit, Ragwortkit, Lovagekit and Newtkit's parent Glimmerbee. Oliveshade shuffled after them, looking shell-shocked by the goings on. Steamsplash led her three out and Dappledhowl began carrying along Patchedslip's tiny kittens when Coltray's shocked yowl snapped Pikashine to focus.

"What? What is it?" she wailed, dashing out again to be faced with a shocking sight. Littledusk and the huge rouge were grappling with each other as Patchedslip fought with - Bearsnarl! Pikashine growled low in her throat. "Traiter!" she howled, hurling herself at him with a vengeance sparked from years of bullying from her former SleetClan clanmate. Claws unsheathed, she flattened him against the ground, knocking him away from Patchedslip. She bared her teeth and met his fiery gaze, pressing her hind claws deep into his legs. His tail whipped around her feet but she snarled in his face. He writhed underneath her, and she steeled herself, unlatching her jaw and going in for the kill.

Backing away from his body, Pikashine felt herself shudder, but Coltray was pushing her towards Patchedslip, who was standing hunched over another body, shaking. Pikashine followed Coltray around Patchedslip, to be faced with the blood soaked form of the huge tabby - and Littledusk. Coltray bowed her head, the battle was slowing down around them, and Patchedslip screwed up her face, then spun around and returned to the nursery. Pikashine hovered, uncertain what to do, when a screech ripped through the clearing. "You!" Twocrow yowled, over by Lemonstar's den. Lemonstar stared up at her, Myrtlepaw and Tansypaw blinking at their mother. "You," the brown-and-white tomcat hissed back at her. Pikashine watched it unfold, taking in the blood-soaked camp at the same time.

Twocrow shivered, her odd eyes askew from the SleetClan leader's. She slid out her claws, but the leader got their first. Twocrow staggered backwards, already weakened from the fight. "Duststar." The leader called Duststar smiled a crooked smile, whiskers flicking. "You left me," Twocrow continued jerkily, "I was pregnant with your kits!" She swept her tail to indicate Myrtlepaw, Daisypaw and Tansypaw. "Look at them. Look at them. Did they deserve you? This is already the second Clan they've lived in." Duststar ignored all this and sprang at Twocrow. "You think I wronged you?" he laughed. "You are a freak, Twocrow. You shouldn't exist!" he snarled, throwing her across the clearing, blood streaking from a slash in her throat. Daisypaw let out a scream, and Tansypaw threw himself forward to attack, but Myrtlepaw had already pinned the leader to the ground. Duststar was feeble, and Myrtlepaw had barely fought that night. The kill was swift and simple, and Myrtlepaw let Duststar fall to the ground, already dead. "He was not our father," he announced. "He never was."

Daisypaw huddled against Twocrow's black fur, sticky with blood. But outside the camp, the battle was still going on. Above the thorn wall around the camp, Twigwish watched, horror-struck, as a grey apprentice sank her fangs into Sleekflare's neck. As the two SleetClan cats fell, Sleekflare's killer from battle injuries, Twigwish saw on their brother's chest the mirror image of the mysterious scar on theirs. They bounded forward to stare down at Sleekflare. "You saved me," Twigwish whispered as Sleekflare reached towards them, then fell still. As his eyes closed, Twigwish's scars glowed with stardust then disappeared, snowy fur replacing them. "No!" they cried, thrusting forwards and burying their nose in their twin's fur.

Sleekflare's blood smeared on their muzzle as they wept by his body. The grey-and-white apprentice sprawled next to them, face frozen in a snarl, spirit some faraway place. Burning tears trickled down Twigwish's cheeks, but they steeled themselves and dragged Sleekflare's corpse towards the camp, where frustrated wails were coming. As they reached the entrance, they saw Lemonstar, looking significantly shaken, and behind her, a howling Patchedslip surrounded by her four new kits. We won the battle, they realised, glancing around. But some of us didn't. They dropped the body of Sleekflare, and in horror made out the stiff shape of Littledusk surrounded by his family, and a little way of the mourning shadows of Twocrow's three children around her body.

But Breezepaw wasn't exactly mourning as far as they could see. Their eyes widened in horror as they made out the bloody mess that was his face, and they bounded over, shoving their medicine cat duties before their grief. They barely stopped themselves from retching at the ravaged chaos that some warrior had made of Breezepaw. Sparkgaze was attempting to get him to chew up some dandelion, and Nightpaw returned with horsetail in her jaws. Twigwish took it from her and chewed it up. "Lick his eyes clean once he's eaten the dandelion," they instructed the youngest medicine cat. Nightpaw did so, flinching slightly, and Twigwish massaged the horsetail poultice into the gouges on his head.

Fernclan

Fernclan is known to be a very soft and kind clan, one who
welcomes kittypets without a problem and doesn't care
about origin of a cat. Fernclan is a bit too trusting of a clan
and it is easy for them to be tricked and taken advantage of.
Fernclan is the type of clan who can't let any cat behind, and
will try their best to save every cat.

Fernclan's land is vast with many leafy green plants and flowers
the trees are short and low to the ground acting more like
bushes than trees. There is a shallow creek cutting the camp
in half. The creek is too shallow for cats to drown in, but kits
can drown and because of this are not allowed in the second
part of the camp.

not to mention that they flourish in one of the most difficult ecosytems while
maintaining an incredible culture and lifestyle. isolated from the mainstream
traits and building blocks of the cats from across the ocean, the cats of jungl
eclan march to the beat of their own drum and engage in practices any outsi
der might call strange. they believe in a religion that strays from starclan, li
ve in caves and alongside paranha-infested waters, and peruse an incredibly
different variety of herbs that took many many moons of experimenting to es
tablish as actual medicinal cures. but even despite jungleclan's strange ideas
and cultural quirks, they are cats who value family and inner closeness more
than anything else, and would never abandon one of their own no matter how
tough the going may get. jungleclan makes its home on the long, sprawling ba
nks of the amazon river, and although flooding is common during the rainy mo
nths (of which the cats of jungleclan can predict with terrifying accuracy), the
y can always relocate to the auxiliary camp that lies nestled within the many
caves dotting the mountainsides that surround them at all times. in fact, where
any cat may see the rainforest as a trap for those who think too highly of their
abilities, jungleclanners would never have it any other way; the difficulties of j
ungle living only enrich their culture and sense of identity, and they would nev
er give it up for the world.

- W E A T H E R -

Leaf-fall- The air has a slight nip to it, easily finding its way inside dens, so make sure to repair your dens and patch any cracks. The twolegs and their dogs won't come into the Clan territories as often as they do in greenleaf, but you will still see them from time to time. Foxes and badgers are now more commonly found, so be careful. Kitting will start to become harder during this time.

[ Shortly after the patrols set out, Hawkthorn and Shadowtail's respective groups merged together to hunt. The large patrol came across a vole den and caught a combined x6 voles ]
[ Pinefeather's patrol came across the stragglers from the vole den and managed to swipe up x3 fleeing voles ]
[ Longriver's patrol returned to camp, boasting about the x3 plump voles they managed to catch by the river. Their boasts quickly died when they saw the catch Hawkthorn and Shadowtail's patrols had made ]
[ Dawnblossom's patrol settled next to the river and readied themselves for a long time of waiting. It was a few hours before they headed back to camp with x3 fish ]
[ Lionheart's patrol returned to camp at the end of the day, pleased to report that nothing seemed out of the ordinary ]

A memory of a lost land, the mere echo of his father and his forefathers and those that came before him. That was all that made up who Yalun was. He watched everyone he loved fall victim to the strangeness of the rainforest and he saw the light leave their eyes, so then what was left of him? No identity? No heart? No home?

The trees he had grown up around suddenly seemed strange and foreign, menancing in how their leaves shifted and their branches waved. what hid up there? What kind of unseen enemy lied in wait for him? He was no fool, he knew everything of the forest was beyond his machinations, but with sentience comes the dislike of a lack of control; he wanted to the rainforest to bend to his will, not subjugate him. He never wanted to see another cat he loved die.

The river had always brought plenty to these lands. He would settle there and think on the days to come, for he could not bear a future of loneliness. The bubbling stream called and beckoned for him, and he listened.
