the two cats trotted side by side out of the camp. stormcall had her ears perked up, swiveling around for any sound of prey scuttling through the snow. willowstar kept his nose up the air, trying to catch the scent trail of prey. both stayed silent, not wanting to scare off any prey that might be close by. soon stormcall heard the flapping of wings. she paused, looking off to the right. she flicked with her tail signaling for willowstar to follow her. the duo stalked off to the right, trying to stay as quiet as possible. in their sights came a small bird hopping around the frozen lake, trying to find food. willowstar veered off to the left while stormcall went right. the bird was too busy pecking at the snow trying to dig anything up to notice the two cats heading for it. by the time it realized it was in danger it was too late, willowstar attacked. he charged, grabbing the bird by its foot as it tried to fly off, but stormcall pulled it down with her claws, killing it.
with a proud look in her eyes stormcall picked the waterfowl up in her mouth.
good catch. willowstar complimented the she-cat.
it was a team effort. you grabbed it and i killed it. stormcall said back to him. the duo started back toward camp, chatting.
i hope this leaf bare doesnt last much longer. its too cold for my taste. stromcall said, her voice muffled by the bird in her mouth.
what was that? willowstar teased her. stormcall rolled her eyes at the tom. before the cats could talk anymore the scent of a new cat came to them. both stormcall and willowstar tensed up, wondering who was in their territory. following the scent trail it lead back to willowclans camp. both of the cats looked at each other. someone was in their camp. quietly setting her prey onto the ground, willowstar and stormcall stalked toward the entrance to the camp.

side by side willowstar and stormcall burst into the camp. stormcalls fur stood on end and she had her claws out. willowstar wasnt as prepared for a fight but he was still wary of his surroundings. at the end of the camp sat flamestsripe with another cat. when stormcall and willowstar jumped into the camp amber had jumped back, shrinking away.
flamestripe, get away from the intruder! stromcall ordered, stepping closer to amber and flamestripe. flamestripe didnt comply. instead he stood in front of amber in a protective manner.
stormcall, its alright. shes not an enemy! flamestripe said, glancing back at amber.
this is amber, she just wants to be part of the clan. willowstar rested his tail on top of stormcalls shoulder.
amber, im sorry for stormcall. we thought there was an intruder. willowstar softly said. amber peeked out from behind flamestripe. she eyed stormcall who was eyeing her as well. stepping out from behind flamestripe, amber stepped forward.
flamepstripe told me all about willowclan, and id love to be a part of it. the she-cat quietly said. she already decided that she didnt like stormcall, so she kept her eyes off of the grey cat.
padding over to one of the willow trees up rooted roots, willowstar jumped up on it. the three other cats gathered around below him, amber sitting closest to him.

hey, stormcall, would you like to take a walk with me? the tom asked. almost immediately stormcall agreed, bouncing up from the spot that she had been laying in. the two cats walked out of camp, walking side by side. for a while neither of them spoke as they padded forward. unable to bear the silence any longer stormcall spoke up.
okay, why did you ask me on this walk? were not doing anything! willowstar flinched, sighing. the male never flinched, he wasnt scared of anything, at least thats what stormcall thought.

when the sun did rise stormcall and willowstar started to make their way back to camp. they walked pressed together, their tails intertwined. even though the wind was blowing and snow was falling, stormcall felt warm inside. willowstar had finally asked her to be his mate, and it only took moons of getting his heart to be hers.

sleeping in an actual den for once was probably the highlight of ambereyes life. for so long she had slept out in the open, but now she had an actual shelter and place to call home. she thought that all the warriors slept together though, but last night stormcall was nowhere to be found. as ambereyes climbed out of the den she shrugged this thought off. maybe the she-cat guarded the camp at night. looking around the empty clearing ambereyes sighed. no other cat was out, and ambereyes was bored. as she looked around, shivering in the cold, ambereyes caught sight of red against white. flamestripe was walking out of his den.
