Fletcharrow woke up, and sighed. She was still covered in sleeping cats. Chances are, if she moved she'd wake them too.
So, she sort of just lied there, not moving. She gazed around camp. The first rays of light were peering over the horizon and suddenly she looked over and locked eyes with another cat watching from the shadows, piercing green eyes.
She tried to stand up to defend herself and the others, but they must have been heavy sleepers, because she was effectively immobilized.
The cat crept closer, and she noticed that he had a purple horn with strange runes on it. He was a tuxedo, with well groomed fur that was short and sleek.
She snarled warningly at him, but he continued to approach slowly. He opened his jaws to speak, but without warning,
Crysan sprang up and pinned the strange tom to the ground.
"Who are you?" He spat.
"Geez! I'm Carver, but what is wrong with you! I come to try and help the she-cat you're all squishing and you act like i was gonna try and murder you all!"
By now, his shouting had woken the others who clambered off of her. Fletcharrow stood up and shook out her riffled fur.
"For all we know, you might have!" Thistle hissed, flexing the claws on the tips of her wings.
"Thistle, it's alright." Fletcharrow soothed. "Crysan, you can let him up."
Crysan obliged and Carver got to his paws.
"What's your business here?" Tide asked cautiously.
"I came across you all by accident, but you all looked very close, figuratively and literally, and there's safety in numbers, so i thought maybe i could join you? I know it's a long-shot, but—"
"Can you commit," Fletcharrow interrupted, "to our way of life? We are wanderers, and those who can't deal with that, are left behind."
"Yes." Carver smiled. "I can."
"Then i don't see why not. Fletcharrow shrugged.
"Fletcharrow, can we talk?" Crysan hissed. "Why are you just letting him in?"
"Because i trust him." She replied steadily.
"Fletcharrow, a few seconds ago he was watching us all while we were asleep." He argued.
"Fine! I'll keep an eye on him, but that doesn't mean i'm turning him away. We need all the help we can get, especially since there will be kittens running around soon! Tide's very close to giving birth now, we can't afford something going wrong!"
"We need a healer." Crysan said. "Not Carver."
"He stays. Fletcharrow said firmly, before walking over to talk with Thistle.

Tide watched everything unfold around her, and sighed. It wasn't any good fighting, it got nothing done.
She watched as they all prepared to leave, in groups to go hunting.
"Rowan, it's time!" She called the kitten over.
"Alright." Rowan said sadly, and she sauntered over, burying herself up to her shoulders in sand with her tail.
Tide sat down, folding her paws beneath her, and pulling her tail close.
She watched Rowan and wondered how a kitten so little and innocent had gotten so deep in this mess.

Pod stared at his mentor as Crysan watched Fletcharrow, Thistle and Carver leave camp, heading in the opposite direction as them, slinking through the fields.
Crysan was so busy staring at them, That he probably didn't even notice Pod staring at him until the little tom spoke up.
"Are you jealous?" He teased.
"What? No!" Crysan flustered. He was clearly lying.
"Mhm." Pod rolled his eyes, turning away, but not before Crysan saw the smirk on his face.
"Come on Pod, let's get going. You'll want to practice your hunting skills."
"Why? I already know how to hunt."
"Because, you already know lots of things. Enough things that you'll probably be taking your final assessment soon." Crysan teased Pod. The rookie simply shrugged.
"Don't worry Crysan, when you finally realize that you like her, your secret is safe with me!" Not!

"Crysan loves Fletcharrow!" Pod whispered to Thistle after they'd all returned from their hunts.
"What!" She asked. "How do you know? Did he tell you? Are you sure?"
"Oh he loves her alright, he just doesn't quite know it yet. Here's the problem." He grabbed two rocks, one darker than the other.
"This dark rock, is Crysan, a hopeless romantic. This lighter rock is Fletcharrow, love of his life. But neither of the have any idea. This leaf," he grabbed a dead leaf and placed it carefully beside the light grey rock. "Is Carver." Pod moved the dark rock away. "Crysan is jealous because Carver spends more time around Carver."
"Hmm... I do see the problem here. I also see a solution." Thistle mewed. "What they need, is a little push in the right direction..." She pushed the two stones together, and the both smiled at each other mischievously.

Later on, as everyone was getting ready to go on patrol, Thistle and Pod dashed up to Carver.
"Can we both come on patrol with you, please, please, please?" They both chimed.
"Uhhh... I don't know what you two are up too, but i don't see why not."
"Us? We're not up to anything!" Thistle said innocently.
Pod turned to Fletcharrow and Crysan. "Oh no, are you guys sure you'll be okay together? All alone?" He smiled.
Crysan laughed awkwardly. He looked Pod dead in the eye, and whispered, "How could you do this to me?"
To which Pod responded, "Thank me later! For know, you two, have a patrol to get too!"
With that Thistle and Pod shooed them both away.
"We did the right thing!" Thistle meowed.
"Okay, seriously, what's going on you two?" Carver asked them once they were away from camp.
Pod pretended to be hurt.
"Carver, i have no idea what you're talking ab—"
"We're playing matchmakers, and Fletcharrow and Crysan are adorable together!" She squealed.
"Thistle, Pod, that's very irresponsible! Count me in!"
They all grinned.
"Hey wanna spy on them?" Pod asked.

Tide sighed, back at camp. Sitting uncomfortably had become normal, as she constantly felt unbalanced and unsteady. Her kits would be due very soon, and she prayed that they found a medic or something, otherwise the birth could go horribly wrong.
She looked down at Rowan who'd once again taken to burying herself with sand, and falling asleep in her sandy nest. They'd tried as a joke to bury her, but Rowan cut her paw pad on one of Tide's sharper crystals, and she was worried it might end up infected.
Just another reason they needed somebody with medical expertise!
She couldn't wait to have her kittens. Not only would Rowan have some playmates her age, but then Tide could start to get back to her duties. She would miss Rowan, but maybe Fletcharrow would let her mentor the kitten.
No, the ages didn't align well.
Tide closed her eyes and coiled around Rowan, looking up at the sky. She was disappointed to see it was darkening. Another storm must be coming.
A crack of thunder made Tide jump and Rowan blinked awake.
The first droplets hit her nose, and soon began to fall much faster.
She looked around desperate for some shelter from the rain, but there didn't seem to be any. She huddled over top of Rowan, trying to at least keep the small kitten dry.
In the midst of her fear, the thunder and lightning, a lone figure appeared over the rise. Carver stood, his voice raised so that it could be heard above the thunder.
"Over here!"
Without hesitation, Tide picked up Rowan and followed Carver. There was an urgency to the way he walked. They both were water aligned, but it wasn't the rain that scared them. It was the lightning and the wind.
A minute or two later, Carver ducked down into a tunnel.
"This way." He said, his voice much more audible as they descended underground, the sounds of the storm fading. Soon they came to a cave, where she saw Pod and Thistle huddled close together, soaked and shivering.
They would need to hole up here until the storm passed.

Fletcharrow and Crysan padded through the grass, side by side. Fletcharrow kept catching Crysan looking at his paws, nervously. "Hey, are you alright?" She asked him when it happened again.
"I'm fine." He sighed. Then his ears perked up. "Do you hear that?"
"Yes." The sound of crashing thunder wasn't far off. The sky was so dark now, Fletcharrow had no idea how they hadn't noticed it yet.
"Should we head back to camp?" Crysan asked, urgency in his voice. Tide and Rowan were back there.
"No, it's too far. Besides there's no shelter. I trust that they'll find a way to keep safe. Carver and the rookies too. It's us i'm worried about." She told him grimly.
"We need to get to shelter. Now!" Crysan shouted and they ran, the rain was fierce and came down hard, plastering their fur to their skin. They looked urgently for a place to hide, and eventually they dashed into an abandoned twoleg barn.
Crysan and Fletcharrow settled down now that they were out of the worst of the storm.
"Hello?" Crysan called. No answer. "Hello?"
"Empty." Fletcharrow meowed.
Without another word, they curled up in a pile of hay, pressed together, shuddering from the cold. Fletcharrow tried to fall asleep. It was going to be a long night.

As the Servants moved closer to their new home, they found three more cats.
Cookie, the mate of Winter and the mother of Oreo, Finnick, a water elemental who seemed interested in
traveling with them, and Paka, a small kitten who had joined Oceana's small army of adopted children.

Fleur's horns thrummed softly as she listened to Sanvi, the older female was giving her a lesson on how to recognize spirit
magic. Since Fleur and her siblings were all extra sensitive to spirit signs, Fleur's ability being the strongest, Sanvi had said
that she wanted Fleur to know which god the signs were coming from. There was no true way to test it of course, not without
getting actual signs from the gods, but Fleur still should have a rough idea.

As Sanvi kept talking, Fleur's gaze slid to the nursery. When she'd first seen Paka, her horns had pulsed warmly, making her think
that the kitten might have a gift like her own. Except for, he didn't have horns. Paka was a winged cat, his feathers a vibrant pink,
yellow, and blue. He was also too young to understand her questions about spirit magic.

"Fleur, are you listening?"

Fleur flinched, her green eyes drifting back to Sanvi. "Yes?" she said hesitantly.

Sanvi smiled slightly "Really? Well then, I just gave you your assignment, why don't you go ahead and repeat it back to me?"

Fleur paused, the pulsing in her horns slowing. "Ummmmm...." she stalled, glancing around the den. "I have tooo...."

The pulsing in her horns slowed further, until it stopped, and then it picked up again, as fast as it had been going
originally, and a word flashed through her mind. Fleur frowned, then slowly said (though it was more of a question
really) "do nothing? You didn't actually give me an assignment?"

Sanvi looked started, then she smiled "Good job, looks like you really were paying some attention. Now, back to recognizing
signs..."

Fleur let her mentors voice fade away again as she focused on the pulsing in her horns. Thank you? she thought slowly
However you work, thanks for that.

The next round of pulsing didnt bring any words, but Fleur got the distinct impression that something was pleased by her thanks.

The Sorority of Brilliance is a group of all AFAB cats centered around communal kit-raising. They're all named after gems, and gems are highly valued by these cats. They live in a temperate forest with thick undergrowth and a network of underground tunnels filled with gems of all kinds. Brown tabbies and torbies are very common, as their pelts help them blend in. Ginger tabbies, solid cats, and dilute cats are uncommon. White spotting and dominant white are rare, but not unheard of.

The leader is the religious head of the group. She will perform ceremonies of all kinds for the Sorority. The leader is believed to have a piece of the mother godesses's soul inside of her, which gives the leader the power of the spirit element. Upon the leader's death, the mother godess will bless a new cat with a piece of her soul, and that cat must step up as leader.

When a kit is born, they are blessed by the leader and the gem they're named after is placed in the nursery, in the belief that it will ward off illness for the kit. This is done for kits of all sexes - although AMAB kits are either sent to their fathers upon weaning or sent out alone at adulthood, the Sorority still cares for them just as much as they would an AFAB kit.

Prey consists of mice, shrews, birds, lizards, and rabbits. Natural predators have long been gone from the territory, but by no means are the cats safe from danger. Wraiths and elementals wander the area, and will attack and kill cats for no apparent reason.

For my founder, I'd like to request crystal growths please! I feel like that would only be fitting for a gem-themed group lol.

The current season is spring! The leaves are adorned with fresh dew and the sun beams gently onto the earth. Because the weather outside is so lovely, lots of cats are going out to enjoy it, and they might just need a new fellowship to settle down in. Births are going smoothly and the hunters are bringing back more food for the fellowship to enjoy. Go out and catch some butterflies!

✧ Gladiolus found 1 catmint.
✧ Zinnia and Chimaira got caught up chatting with each other about their backstories, and didn't find anything of interest while on patrol.
✧ Condor, Star, Sauron, and Toucan caught 2 orzae.
✧ Blue, Clematis, Nubian, Brimstone, and Trachy caught 2 qeder, 2 graek, and 1 avriex.
✧ Dianthus successfully learned a skill this moon.
✧ Fescue passed his vision quest.
✧ The raid party was a fail. Dianthus and Coreid attempted to take on a dhacul on their own, which ended up being a bad idea. The predator had been strengthened after the abundance of prey and the two fellowship cats were no match for it. Thankfully they realized this early, and both escaped with only minor injuries that will require them to rest for 1 moon. However, this means the dhacul is still present on the territory.

✧ Ardgal and Feranna caught 1 burrenbird.
✧ Maeve and Chulanna come across a mage/mystic while on patrol. They apologize for hunting on the territory and offer their catch, 1 fey mouse, in hopes of a place to stay. They were colored by me. Their phenotype is: blue tabby with blue eyes and feathered wings. Their genotype is: Ll, BB, dd, AA, McMc, ww | WifWif.
✧ Ruadhán successfully learned a skill this moon.
✧ Aodhagán found 2 raspberry leaves and 1 chervil.
✧ The raid was a success! The four cats on the patrol were easily able to drive out a single whipit from their territory. It was a bit of a lengthy fight, but every cat came out with little to no injury and all should be fine to continue with their duties.

Sorority of Brilliance
Number of Cats: 1 | Next Mother Goddess Visit: Now | Mod: BlackJeans&IceCream | Mod Notes: Because all members of the Sorority are AFAB, I'd like to ask that only AFAB cats be given. No deaths yet please!

The mother goddess's wrath isn't pretty. Tanzanite had seen it firsthand - the massive cat had descended from the sky, striking down cats with a single blow. Cats fled in all directions, hoping that they hadn't drawn Her ire and that She wouldn't follow. It was only Tanzanite's promise that ended Her rampage:

I'll make up for Iolite's blasphemy!

She had stood in front of Tanzanite, staring her down. Tanzanite refused to step down, knowing that this could mean her death. But She blessed her with a piece of Her soul, giving her the element of spirit and marking her as the next leader of the Sorority of Brilliance.

For many, it was too late. The camp was littered with corpses. Only Tanzanite and her brother remained standing - everyone else had fled or been killed. The two of them took care of funeral rites for all the deceased - blasphemers and innocent bystanders alike. Once everyone had been buried, Tanzanite's brother had set out to look for survivors while she tended to camp. She didn't expect him back for at least a moon.

Today, the camp look spotless, no sign of the blood that the mother goddess had spilled just a few days ago. The rain had taken care of that. Clouds hung heavy above, promising worse storms to come. Tanzanite hoped the storms wouldn't bring her brother any trouble - storms could bring floods and mudslides. But she couldn't waste time simply worrying about her brother right now. Even if he found all the survivors, she doubted there'd be enough of them to get the Sorority through winter. Tanzanite needed to bring fresh blood in.

"Please, Mother," prayed Tanzanite, "bring me an herbalist, so that the Sorority may remain healthy. And guide my brother's travels, so that he may stay safe and find any survivors."

What the Dance of Matter and Light would summon was always a mystery, an alluring or repulsive sort of gamble that attracted only the desperate. Most of the population had attended at least once, more would have repeated the experience had they the chance. A gelatinous ocean smelling of putrid decay was the last thing on the attendees' minds, and thus it was what phased into existence at the waltz's height. Prior Equinox had never seen the sea, never seen water in any form but a still pool that reflected the void, and yet her body still knew the motions of dodging rolling waves, her lungs were familiar with the burn of breaching the surface with mewling scraps of fur choking her attempts to draw breath. The lines between the Before, the Present, and the After were blurred for everyone in the Below, but for Prior they had, did, and would always bleed. It was how she survived the dual memories of impossible order and chaos.

Prior had always, would always, try to slip away before the 'thank you's and wailing began, this time, thankfully, the former more than the later, but still she was caught by a cat the color of the night sky. His fur was still damp with goop and as he flicked his tail (which he did with the nervous air of someone who would vanish had they the ability) viscous liquid splattered Prior. He didn't apologize. She didn't remark upon it. They sat side by side in silence, watching the same calendar.

"Were you the one that killed the sea?" The night cat finally asked.

"Yes," responded Prior, hoping her clipped tone would discourage further questions. A bleeding memory suggested it would not.

"Are you waiting for the ship? Going Up?" It was a foolish question. There was only one answer. "I am too. We could go together. Safety in numbers and all that."

The Prior of Before intended to say no, wanted to ask what safety he offered beyond another body to save, but the words of a cat with different Future memories left her mouth. "My name in Prior Equinox."

"Vicars."

"And I'm Temporary Pilgrim," came an unknown voice that a deeper part of Prior had expected. Vicars, whose fur bristled into stalagmites as a small cat with neatly folded wings stepped out of the shadows, evidently had not. "Names now known, we are bounded together, yes?"

Prior squinted at the kitten, who returned her gaze with a solemnity that many adults lacked. "If we were fae. Is that what you believe?"

The kitten, Temporary Pilgrim, shook his head. "No. I come from Above. This is-" He trailed off and stared, eyes unfocused, into the distance as if making a mental note. "-new information for me."

Vicars, who had until that point looked very displeased with an untrained kitten attempting to force himself into the company, perked up when Temporary claimed to hale from Above. "Does this mean you know how to leave this place? Then why are you still here?"

"I can guide you Above," Temporary Pilgrim confirmed, still looking at Prior. She could sense the unspoken 'probably' in his eyes. "This place is far more interesting, but I can lead you Above in exchange for protection."

"From whom?"

"The people that killed me."

Prior frowned, her misgivings growing. "Ghosts cannot return so easily, and the gaps in your memory alone-"

"I am not a ghost," interrupted Temporary Pilgrim with such righteous authority that Prior found herself truly believing what he said next, "I am a god." And then, just as quickly, the authority that wiped even Vicar's face of renewed concern, vanished, and the being standing before them was once more a kitten. "I do have a ghost friend who we need to pick up along the way, though. Sorry."

"Great, another kid," griped Vicars.

"Why are you apolo- oh." The wailing on the wind answered Prior's question. She knew that voice, and not only from memories that hadn't yet come to pass. Vicars recognized it too.

"I am not traveling with her."

"You are if you're travelling with me. I promised her."

"And as a god you're beholden to your promise? Not from my experience."

"Hold your tongue you nearsighted, stuck-up, poop-head!"

"Who are you calling a poop-head?"

"Enough!" snapped Prior, silencing 'poop-head' and god alike. "Yue will be traveling with us. Vicars, if you don't like that you can leave, but she is a condition of Temporary Pilgrim's help and an asset on her own." Not to mention little more than a child, but the Prior Equinox of Before wasn't willing to admit that as a motivator. "Now are there any further complaints or name calling either of you wish to exhaust?"

She took their silence as a win.
