the territories are in full bloom and prey is running rampant, making them an easy catch. queens and kits will be much more likely to survive during birth and new cats are still likely to be found. however, the chance for drought and dehydration is higher and predators, while unlikely, are more dangerous than ever due to the abundant resources.

We could choose between brutality or peace. And we chose brutality.
So do not question us. Do not cross us. And you will avoid the lash
of our fangs.

The Shadowed Kingdom is probably one of the most ruthless, brutal, and powerful clans to have lived in the Avethlon forest. These cats are cutthroat, cruel and prefer to fight first ask questions later. Their founder, a sleek warrior turned rogue with fur darker than night, supposedly stole away in the dead of night, and several moons later, returned to his clan as a killer. He weeded out the weak and kept the strong, taking over as High Lord. Despite the founder being male, the clan is not strictly patriarchal.

The cats of the Kingdom (as they are referred to) have a very unique hierarchy style. The ranks are listed below. Males are typically called Darkbringers and females are called Blackhands. Mates are arranged throughout the clan, and polygamy is forbidden — one must stay true to his/her mate. Cheating is punishable by death.

Very rarely are elderly cats allowed to stay; the High Lord will order the
Storm Guard to chase off any cat who is not fit to fight anymore. Only
those cats of pureblood lineage and ample service will be allowed to
stay and retire in peace.

Appearance-wise, gender is pretty easy to tell. Darkbringers are burly, muscular
and battle-hardened toms who usually have one or two scars to tell the tale of
a life on the war-ground. Blackhands are also lean and muscular, but they look
distinctively more slender than Darkbringers.

As for religion, the cats worship rather war-like gods. The main ones are
called the Shadowed Lord and the White Lady. The Lady represents the blood purity a
wolf is required to have in order to be successful on the field. She also represents a cold, strict
political mindset. The Lord represents brutality and the battleground. It is said that if a cat f
ights off an enemy for his pack, but dies, the Lord will bring him to his ground, where the warrior
will fight and feast for all eternity.

DrownedClan

It was so cold and so, so, so dark.

They weren't quite sure how long they'd been gone for or how long they'd been asleep for. Shaking out their damp pelt, they rose to their paws and looked around slowly - In front of them, there was a strange dark forest, full of whirring wings and humming lights. Behind them, there was an abyss-black river and beyond that lay...nothing? Backing away slowly, they blinked in astonishment. It was just darkness stretching out for miles, and it was so mortifying. They had faced off dogs, badgers, foxes and cruel leaders. They had never been scared of anything in the past - But to be approached by nothing? It haunted them. Trembling, they backed away slowly from the silent waters and disappeared into the forest. The shadows swallowed them and a cool-wind ruffled their pelt, and gradually they calmed down. It seemed so much more like home now, they thought with a gentle smile.

One by one, all the stars disappeared

The forest was rather dark, they noticed, with branches so tangled with one another that the moon struggled to shine through. Swallowing uneasily, they quickened their pace and tried to ignore the ravens in the trees. They had killed and eaten ravens before, they were just birds that was all - Birds with a terrifying amount of wisdom. They'd heard all the elders stories of ravens leading cats either to glory or much, much more likely...their doom. With a twitch of their tail, they disappeared into the undergrowth. Thorns scratched their ears and leaves crunched softly under their paws, and as they crept out of the bracken, they were startled to spot an open clearing full of pale-blue flowers and soft grass. It was breathtaking, and they felt a curious sense of peace for the first time since they set foot in the forest. Glancing up at the sky, they gaped at what they saw - The moon, pallid and leering over the canopy of dark trees, and the stars absent from the sky. There was only a void.

And all the dead turned in their graves

StarClan was gone.

Gaping, they looked around nervously and felt their heartbeat begin to spike. Their ancestors weren't there, they were gone! Gone! There was something terribly wrong with this place, they realized, looking around anxiously. The trees yielded them no answers, and they felt so terribly alone. ''T-this isn't home, is it?'' They whimpered, feeling grief and terror welling-up inside of them. Suddenly, out from the corner of their eye, was a death. And another, and another, and another until they were too much for them to bear - Kits dying from the cold, warriors being slain in battle, elders dying from greencough, entire clans being swallowed up either by man or beast. At last, directly in front of them, they saw a vision of a cat trapped under a log as a flood tore through their clan - It was them, clawing for safety and crying out for help before disappearing before hungry, dark waves.

They had died.

DrownedClan is a clan made up of lost spirits, unable to reach StarClan - Their leader was a prophet and had drowned before they could deliver their message. While they lack the 9 lives of other leaders and are unable to communicate to the living, they are able to live and grow as normal cats - Simply stuck in limbo. There are two ways that they may die; Either they're sent to the Dark Forest or StarClan, or one of them slays the other. The latter is frowned upon and strictly forbidden, except for the most dire of cases. DrownedClan worships the judge and their council - A group of ancients who look carefully at their lives and decide whether they are worthy for StarClan or for the Dark Forest.

thistlestar was quick on his feet as he moved through the forest, his hunting was done. in the meantime he'd search the forest endlessly until sundown, praying, hoping for starclan to guide cats to him. his prayer seemed to be answered when he stumbled upon a ginger and white tabby she-cat. she peered at him with a interested gaze. "hello there, clan cat." she greeted, striding forward confidently. thistlestar stepped back, unprepared for the sudden burst of confidence within the cat. she laughed, "i mean no ill intent." she reassured, "i- i want to join." the brown tom nodded suddenly, eagerly. "of course, we're in need of new cats." the ginger she-cat nodded, "there used to be a big group of cats, you smell of them. but they're gone now, aren't they?" she asked as she scented the air. "they left, im leader now. we're starting over." the she-cat seemed excited by the idea, "I wanted to join but the big group was always intimidating, if they ever saw me they chased me out without a seconds hesitation." she explained, "i'm rowan, by the way." thistlestar paused before speaking, had his clanmates really acted that cold toward a needy loner? "i'll apologize for them, then. it's nice to meet you, rowan. i'm thistlestar- leader of fjordclan." rowan seemed honored and she dipped her head, "i have a feeling we're going to be good friends- well uh, clanmates."

rowanstrike wandered the forest, she was supposed to hunt and patrol; thistlestar's orders he'd joked. the two became close fast, and she was honored to become the first member of his newly built clan. the two talked hours on end, thistlestar fantasizing about his clan, fully formed and thriving. rowanstrike agreed it would be a great sight. the roar of the river was louder, ringing in her ears as she saw a big figure moving toward her with green eyes. the tom slowed down as he approached her, "might you be thistlestar?" he called, and rowanstrike let out a laugh. "sorry, i'm afraid not." the tom seemed to hang his head before she purred. "but i do know him. might i know who you are?" the tabby tom seemed to think he was in the clear as he trotted forward. "starclan sent me, my names tigerpool, im a medicine cat." he introduced himself and rowanstrike dipped her head. thistlestar had taught her about starclan, so the tom was obviously a clan cat. "im rowanstrike, a warrior of fjordclan."she opened her mouth to ask more but she thought it was best to wait for thistlestar to ask him them. the red tabby beckoned her head to follow her as she began the trek to camp. when she arrived she found thistlestar's head perked as he eyed the tom behind her. "this, is tigerpool. he's a medicine cat." thistlestar's gaze seemed to become one of amazement. "i had prayed to starclan to send me a medicine cat, they've answered.." he seemed to be explaining to the she-cat while talking to himself. "apologies, tigerpool. i am thistlestar, leader of fjordclan. we're honored to have you join."

The warm days started to grow ever warmer and just when it seemed like it would get to hot to do just about anything, it started to rain. The rainy days are welcoming, specially since it is light enough to do things in, even prey is running about as they prepare for the ever coming leaf-bare. Predators are also going to be at a high as they look for food as well.

After the clan is gathered to name the new apprentice, weaselpaw, the clan shares a bird that had been caught, helping to ease the hunger that had been growing. They retreat to the caves for the night early, starting to split into different caves. Stormflower, Lionstar and sandypelt moving into the cave that stormflower had been keeping her herbs, meanwhile the apprentices and warriors move into a more comfortable cave. In the morning, boulderstripe nudges his new apprentice awake, leading him into the main cave to start teaching him to swim, gradually moving out of the pool of water in the cave, and into the ocean. During this time, Lionstar, whiskersnow, bramblepaw and stormflower leave the caves together. Stormflower breaks off to go herb hunting while the rest of the patrol hunts. Whiskersnow and bramblepaw bring anythingthey might’ve found while Lionstar departs to travel to the moonpool to request a deputy for the clan. Back at the cave, boulderstripe had sent weaselpaw off to get some rest for later, and upon the rest of the clan returning, excluding Lionstar, boulderstripe and his apprentice leave to go on a border patrol as boulderstripe shows weaselpaw the edges of the territory.
