the original clan of the hyperborea had moved away from it's ancestral home after an outsider took the throne and convinced
the clan to move somewhere 'better'. zantha refused to leave her homeland and decided to stay while the others left. due to
this, she was able to claim the title of queen and create her own clan. she didn't really want to lead a clan, but she also didn't
want anyone else to lead and destroy the clan like the last leader did. if you want it done right, do it yourself.

since she is alone in her new clan, zantha turned to the great stone for help. the stone carving of her clan's deity, a gryphon,
is where the leaders go for advice or assistance from their hybrid deity. being the new leader, zantha seeks the stone's help
and asks for a druid, the most needed rank since she doesn't know much about medicine herself. after consoling the stone,
she heads out of the camp for some hunting and patrolling. hopefully she'll be able to find food and maybe more members.

the territories are in full bloom and prey is running rampant, making them an easy catch. queens and kits will be much more likely to survive during birth and new cats are still likely to be found. however, the chance for drought and dehydration is higher and predators, while unlikely, are more dangerous than ever due to the abundant resources.

The pale ginger male slinks through the charred forest, weaving through the black trees, his paws shifting through the ash on the ground as he does. He can still hear it as if the forest were still on fire - the crackling and heat of the leaping flames, buffeting him with unbearable heat. The snap and crash of burning and falling branches, crackling as leaves burn, smoke pouring into his lungs, chocking, strangling him, eyes watering with tears and from the heat. And the terror as it surged through his veins. He shudders violently, but continues on despite the grief still threatening to overwhelm him. He pauses, tail flicking, ears swiveling.

He’s close to the destruction of the former camp, because he recognizes the trees, devoid of branches, bark blackened and crisp from the flames that had licked at them. The same trees he had run past, coughing, as he fled the home he had lived in, was born in, and had grown up in.

A familiar scent reaches his nostrils - could it be? As it had been these past few moons, he dared to allow himself a sliver of hope. The scent of death was heavy as he crept towards the burned-down camp, making him want to gag, but he pushed it down as he peered through the ruined foliage. There was a feline at the edge of the former camp, back towards him, head bent down and shoulders hunched, tail wrapped neatly around paws. But the dark paws, dark ears he recognized. He straightens, ears twitching with surprise. ”Willowsong?”

The other cat stands, whirling around to face him, shock written over delicate features. The dark face, pale blue, piercing eyes, and white underbelly, swollen with kits...he knows her. “Novawing?” She breathes, equally surprised.

The Thane purrs, a rumbling noise deep in his chest. “I’m so glad you’re okay! And...with kits?”

Willowsong appears sheepish, looking down at her dark, slender paws. “They’re yours.”

The walk, slower because Willowsong is with kits, was quiet. His kits? His stomach roils violently, but he focuses on putting one paw in front of the other for now. It had been one night, and he hadn’t thought about it since then. He’d told Shadefur, of course he did. Begged her forgiveness, which she had given. They hadn’t been able to have kits of their own, and he didn’t think he ever would. But now, Willowsong is with his kits...he’s going to be a father. He’s thrilled, naturally...but still grieving after losing Shadefur so recently,

Autumnleaf and Borealtooth come up to them as they emerge onto the beach. “Willowsong! I’m so glad you’re okay.” Autumnleaf purrs at the sight of the female beside Novawing, and Borealtooth nods, relief flickering over both of their features. “And you’re with kits! That’s wonderful.”

“Thank you.” Willowsong purrs and she glances at Novawing, who clears his throat.

”They’re mine.” He says, and pride glimmers in his eyes, mixed with grief.

Autumnleaf glances from Novawing to Willowsong, before another purr rumbles in her throat. “Congratulations.”

While on patrol, Lionstar and Bramblepaw started to mark the border of the new clans territory, stumbling upon a loner who had been living nearby during the process. Lionstar tells him about CliffClan, giving him an invitation to join, which he accepts after a few moments of thought. The cat, Boulder, accompanies them to set up the border, and once they return Lionstar gives him the name boulderstripe. They all retire to a cave, as they had decided to all share one den for the time being, getting some sleep before waking early in the morning. Lionstar takes Bramblepaw out to train hunting skills, and upon returning to camp all three cats leave again to go on patrol. When the patrol is almost over, Lionstar leaves to travel to the moonpool to request a medicine cat.

Leafstar beamed at his four kits, whose pelts were almost glowing, thanks to the meticulous grooming of Whiterose, their mother. Arumkit smiled back shyly, while Chamomilekit and Limpetkit both seemed like they had heard an earful from Whiterose, sulking slightly. Onionkit, however, was standing as stoically as his older brother Carrotfur had when he had been apprenticed, causing the SeaClan leader to smile even more. He purred, "Congratulations on reaching your sixth moon!" Arumkit mumbled a soft "Thank you!" as Chamomilekit bragged, "I'm not a wee kitten anymore, Leafstar, I'm gonna find me the biggest squirrel in the forest!" Limpetkit snorted and shot back, "Hah, not before I catch the biggest shark in the sea!" Onionkit shot the two toms a glare and mewed sharply, "We haven't even been apprenticed yet, show him some manners!" As Leafstar stifled his laughter, he heard the amused-yet-stern voice of his mate, Whiterose, coming from the Cave Path that led to the nursery, "Now, kittens, you better be behaving in front of your father!" Limpetkit cleared his throat and replied pompously, "Mother, we are six moons of age - we are not kittens anymore!" The white she-cat came padding out into the main camp as she mewed, an amused look on her face, "However old you may be, all five of you will always be kittens to your parents. Isn't that right, Carrotfur?" She added, as the ginger-furred deputy entered the main camp through the main entrance. Her much older son blinked in surprise at the sudden question and replied, "Uhhhh.... yes?" He then frowned, watching Limpetkit and Chamomilekit pout at his answer, "Wait, Mum, what did I just agree to?" Onionkit replied for the white queen, "She said that however old we all may be, we are still kittens in her and Dad's eyes. Including you," the young ginger tom added, as Carrotfur chuckled. "Well," he allowed, "that's never going to change, is it?" Limpetkit complained, "Carrotfur, you were supposed to back me up!" The ginger-furred deputy chuckled and placed a gentle paw on his younger brother, mewing, "Perhaps it's time to put your attention to somewhere else." Turning to Leafstar, he added, "You should call the meeting, Leafstar." The cream tabby nodded and mewed, "Yes, of course." Facing his second litter of kits, the leader of SeaClan mewed solemnly, "Go on, I'll start the meeting soon." The four kits nodded and scurried away, leaving Leafstar with Carrotfur. The SeaClan leader mewed, glancing at his oldest son, "How's the prey running?" The ginger tabby replied, "Fairly well, Leafstar. The patrols caught enough to suggest we will be safe for another day." Leafstar nodded gratefully and turned away as if to leave; he then turned around and remarked, "I almost forgot, Buntingpaw, Boragepaw, Mistypaw, and Rainpaw have passed their final assessments. They will become warriors today as well." Carrotfur purred, "That's wonderful news! I'm assuming their parents are aware?" "Of course," his father replied, "the four rushed into the warriors' chamber after passing their assessments." "I will go and inform the apprentices their ceremony is to begin shortly then," Carrotfur offered; Leafstar replied in the positive and dismissed him. Once the ginger tabby tom had disappeared into the warriors' chamber, the cream tabby made his way to the Meeting Ledge, leapt up to its top, and called loudly, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey meet here, under the Meeting Ledge, for a Clan meeting!"

Once the cats had settled, Leafstar began, "This moon marks the coming of apprentice age for four of our kits - Arumkit, Chamomilekit, Limpetkit, and Onionkit!" Cheers erupted from the crowd as the four to-be-apprentices stepped into the clearing. The SeaClan leader beamed down at his cats before clearing his throat. This was a signal for the Clan to settle down; when they complied, the cream tabby meowed solemnly, looking up into the ceiling of the cave system they called home, "The four kits in sitting in front of me have reached the age of six moons, and are ready to be apprentices." Looking down at the kits again, he continued, "Until you have earned your warrior names, you will be known as Arumpaw, Chamomilepaw, Limpetpaw, and Onionpaw." Scanning the crowd for the cats he had in mind for their mentors, Leafstar spotted one of them and smiled, meowing, "Cardinalsong. You joined us during SeaClan's darkest hour, yet you remained steadfast and firmly believed in our ancestors. You also learned only the best from your mentor, Carrotfur. I want you to mentor young Arumpaw - I hope that your gentle and kind personality will help her up her confidence, as well as help her in learning to become a full warrior of SeaClan." The ginger tabby tom's eyes were wide as saucers as he made his way slowly to meet the white she-cat. He glanced at Leafstar and mewed, "I will do my best," and turned to face his new apprentice. He bent down to whisper something into her ear, before instructing her to touch noses with him. When she did so, the ginger tabby guided her to where he had been sitting earlier. When he deemed it was good to continue, Leafstar located the next cat he had intended to be a mentor and meowed, "Egretflight. It is high time that you took on your first apprentice. You came to us after the fall of your previous Clan, and learned to adapt to our ways quite quickly. I hope you will pass all that you know to young Chamomilepaw." The white she-cat couldn't hide her excitement as she padded up to the energetic white tom. Leafstar smiled as the two white cats touched each other's noses, and stepped back. The cream tabby meowed briskly, "Daisysong, you have learned from the likes of the great Brightstream and Shorefall, and have taught Boomtail well in the past. I hope that you pass all that you know to young Limpetpaw." Daisysong wore a mask of pleasant surprise as the ginger-and-white she-cat made her way to Limpetpaw, who was squirming visibly in his excitement and eagerness. Leafstar saw her murmur something into the brown classic tabby's ear, and saw his son nod excitedly. Again smiling, he watched as the mentor and apprentice touched noses with each other, and stepped back. Once the two were clear of the clearing, the SeaClan leader continued, "Sulphurstream, it is high time that you took on your first apprentice. Despite having lived most of your life as a loner, you took to Clan life like any Clanborn cat, and have proved yourself time and time again as a valued member of SeaClan. I hope that you teach all that you know to young Onionpaw." The cream tabby tom stood from his corner of the clearing, shock in his clear blue eyes. He made his way to the clearing shakily, and upon seeing Onionpaw, he meowed loudly, "I will do my absolute hardest, Leafstar." Onionpaw and Sulphurstream then touched noses with each other before stepping back. At once, the entirety of the Clan shouted happily, "Arumpaw! Chamomilepaw! Limpetpaw! Onionpaw! Arumpaw! Chamomilepaw! Limpetpaw! Onionpaw!"

As soon as the clearing fell silent, Leafstar meowed solemnly, "We also have four apprentices who have passed their final assessments today, and will be receiving their warrior names! Step forward please - Buntingpaw, Boragepaw, Mistypaw, Rainpaw." Excitement showed in the four apprentices' eyes as they stepped forward. Leafstar then turned to their mentors and asked, "Wolfshadow, Bellcloud, Boomtail, Goosewing, are your apprentices ready to become warriors?" Wolfshadow meowed, "Aye, Leafstar, Buntingpaw is agile and nimble on his paws, and shows great eagerness to serve his Clan for moons to come." Bellcloud meowed, vouching for her apprentice, "Yes. Boragepaw shown great talent in hunting, but he also has a great outgoing personality that will serve him well in the coming moons." Boomtail was next, as he meowed solemnly (rather uncharacteristical of him), "Rainpaw is a fantastic swimmer, and a natural fisher. I know that his strengths will make him a valued member of SeaClan." Goosewing was last; the solid gray she-cat mewed calmly, eyes focused on her apprentice, "Mistypaw's calm demeanor and ability to dispell any tense situations among her fellow apprentices will surely be valued in our Clan." Leafstar nodded gratefully and meowed, "You heard them, SeaClan! These four apprentices shall receive their warrior names now!" The Clan burst into loud cheers for the apprentices; when the clearing became quiet again, the cream tabby meowed solemnly, looking above at the ceiling, "I, Leafstar, leader of SeaClan, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down upon these cats. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turns." Turning to Buntingpaw, Leafstar asked, "Buntingpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to defend and protect the Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The cream tabby apprentice nodded confidently and mewed clearly, "I do." "Then," the SeaClan leader continued, "by the power of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Buntingpaw, from this day forth, you shall be known as Buntingfeather. StarClan honors your courage and determination, and we welcome you as a full member of SeaClan." Coming down to the floor, the cream tabby padded up to the younger cream tabby and laid his muzzle on the apprentice's head. In response, Buntingfeather licked his leader's shoulder. This done, Leafstar quickly leapt back up to the Meeting Ledge and meowed, turning toward Boragepaw. "Boragepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to defend and protect the Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The gray tabby tom mewed, "I do." Leafstar replied, "Then, by the power of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Boragepaw, from this day forth, you shall be known as Boragewhisker. StarClan honors your tireless energy and agility, and we welcome you as a full member of SeaClan." Again, Leafstar leapt down and laid his muzzle on the newly named warrior's head, and Boragewhisker returned the gesture with a respectful lick on the shoulder. And once again, the SeaClan leader returned to his lofty position before meowing, "Rainpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to defend and protect the Clan, even at the cost of your life?" The gray LaPerm tom replied loudly, "I do." "Then," Leafstar continued, "by the power of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Rainpaw, from this day forth, you shall be known as Rainstream. StarClan honors your resourcefulness and confidence, and we welcome you as a full member of SeaClan." The exchange between new warrior and leader was repeated for a third time, and, for the fourth time, Leafstar leapt up to the Meeting Ledge. Turning to Mistypaw, the cream tabby tom repeated the ages-old words of the warrior ceremony, "Mistypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to defend and protect the Clan, even at the cost of your life?" "I do," the gray LaPerm she-cat replied, prompting the SeaClan leader to reply, "Then, by the power of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Mistypaw, from this day forth, you shall be known as Mistyriver. StarClan honors your kindness and eagerness to learn, and we welcome you as a full member of SeaClan." For the fourth time, Leafstar leapt down and laid his muzzle on the newly named warrior. Mistyriver then licked his shoulder in reply, and stepped back. This was cue for the whole of SeaClan to burst into loud cheers as they chanted the cats' new names:

"Buntingfeather! Boragewhisker! Rainstream! Mistyriver! Buntingfeather! Boragewhisker! Rainstream! Mistyriver"

gobypaw and caesar talking with each other before they go off to train. caesar seems to be jealous that gobypaw's hunting. almondbark comes by and caesar leaves to train, leaving gobypaw and reedpaw. gobypaw mentally remarks about how quiet reedpaw had been and that he seems to have little/no friends in the clan. gobypaw makes an effort to talk with him but reedpaw only giving one-two word replies doesn't make it easy. they are interrupted by moosetrail and pikeclaw coming by to take them hunting.

Greenleaf has only grown hotter as the moon grows fuller and many cats' fear has started to be recognized. The water levels of streams and lakes all across the territories have fallen, and with them a number of cats' moral. Drink is not yet scarce and neither is prey, but leaders and deputies have been meeting with their senior warriors to formulate disaster plans just in case.
