“Morn…uh…Twistedstar?” Galalight corrected herself. “Why don’t you eat these?” She pushed a bundle of dried oak leaves and feverfew towards the leader. “You’ve been pushing yourself rather hard for your weak condition lately.”
The calico regarded the herbs with a skeptical gaze before finally lapping them up. Ruststripe flicked his tail happily. “Dear, I know you’re trying your best, but you cannot do that if you are dead.”
Galalight nodded vigorously. “You are on bedrest until further notice. The Clan is already restless as it is, we don’t need you to lose any more lives.”

There was quite a commotion in the center of camp. Dovestrike had fallen ill, and Sunchaser was extremely anxious although he wouldn’t talk about it. Darkmist had been assisting Twistedstar and Sunchaser with their duties since “I know what it was like to be leader, and I would want someone to help me out if it was me”. Birchwhisker and Ruststripe had taken shifts to make sure Twistedstar wasn’t overexerting herself. So when there was a loud argument taking place in camp, they were all relieved it wasn’t Twistedstar working herself up.
“I’m not going to wait here to die off one by one!” A tabby tom was yowling at his black mate. “I actually want our family to survive together.”
“Valleyrunner…” Crowtalon pleaded. “We aren’t going to die! Our kits finally became apprentices, we can’t leave now.”
“I’m not Valleyrunner, I’m Geronimo! We were heading to the mountains, why did we even stop here? There’s something happening in this forest, and I want out!”
“Can we talk about this privately?” Crowtalon asked. “We can debate like always and make a decision together.”
“I’ve had enough.” Valleyrunner dropped his voice. “You can stay, but I’m taking our kits far away from this place.” All the attention turned to the three apprentices sitting on the sidelines of the argument with wide eyes. “Come on, Ravenpaw, Twilightpaw, and Mountainpaw. You’re coming with me.” Valleyrunner urged them. Ravenpaw and Twilightpaw took a few uncertain steps towards their angry father, but Mountainpaw stayed sitting.
“I don’t want to go.” Mountainpaw softly said. “I want to stay and become a warrior.”
“Are you really leaving?” Crowtalon’s voice broke. “We’ve known each other practically our whole lives.”
“Come with us.” Valleyrunner urged. “Please, Crow.”
“I’m going to stay Crowtalon.” He said. “I’ve chosen my path, and it’s here.” As he watched his mate and two kits walk out of camp into the unknown, his heart ached. Turning, he slowly went to his nest which still smelled of Valleyrunner. When it came time for the apprentices to switch out the bedding, Crowtalon still kept a small chunk of moss from his old nest even though Valleyrunner’s scent was long gone.

Softdapple was quietly cleaning herself before going on her first patrol as a warrior. She was taking Valleyrunner’s place in Snowstorm’s hunting patrol and was patiently waiting for the sun to fully peak out from the trees. A snap of a twig turned her attention to the brush beside her. “Rushingflame? Why are you sneaking around? Most of the clan is already awake.”
“I guess this does work out better if I tell somebody.” Rushingflame whispered. “I’m leaving.”
“Like leaving-leaving?” Softdapple softly exclaimed.
“I think Valleyrunner had a point. My mother already was killed by this forest, and I don’t want to be next.” Rushingflame said.
“Where will you go?” Softdapple asked. She wasn’t prepared for telling the rest of the clan how she just let a warrior leave just like that.
“Anywhere.” Rushingflame shrugged. “I’m not very picky.”
And that was that. The fluffy calico was gone. “Ready to go?” Snowstorm’s deep voice soothed her.
“Rushingflame is gone.” Softdapple said. “She left.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if she wasn’t the last to leave.”

It turned out Snowstorm’s prediction was correct. With Dovestrike’s health deteriorating and having Twistedstar get around by half-dragging herself across the dirt, TwistedClan was becoming increasingly anxious. Claystream departed without Mallardwing, causing yet another heartbreaking goodbye. She did trust her daughter to stay strong, but this place was filled with bittersweet memories with Toadsplash. Galalight was worried about Stonefrost leaving since he never bounced back from Briarwhisper’s death, but he walked out of camp without any doubts. Jaywhistle took a more secretive route to disappear, and TwistedClan assumed he had ditched the clan since his body never was found on a patrol. Windcall, despite his loud and obnoxious personality, had lost a significant amount of weight from stress and tried his best to announce his departure with dignity. A day later, Galalight assisted Dovestrike’s journey into StarClan with a foxglove seed as her condition deteriorated into the Crazed state that Marsh had talked about. However, it seemed the wave of fleeing cats had ceased. Rainsong and her kits mourned Dovestrike, but their faith remained steady in TwistedClan.

Quietstep turned her head slightly as pawsteps approached her. “How’s Graybelly doing?” She asked Minnowflash brightly. She swore she saw an annoyed look flit across his face for a second before he answered.
“Still doing fine.” He responded curtly. “I’m glad you haven’t left TwistedClan yet.”
“Yet?” Quietstep’s voice hardened. “I’m not a kittypet anymore. I’m a warrior.”
“I know,” Minnowflash backpedaled. “I didn’t mean it like that. I’ll try again…I’m glad you’re still here.”
Quietstep huffed. “That’s a bit better.”
“Hey, I grabbed a squirrel for us to share!” Stormheart came trotting towards the two. “Oh, hi, Minnowflash! Wanna bite?” He offered.
“No thanks.” Minnowflash dipped his head and stood. “I should bring something to Graybelly. She’s grouchy if she’s hungry.” Quietstep watched the tom leave. His sleek figure moved easily throughout the bushes.
“Did I miss anything fun?” Stormheart watched her with his mouth full.
“No, just talked about Graybelly.” Quietstep turned her attention to her friend and meal. Although perhaps if Stormheart didn’t show up, their conversation would have become a bit more fun.

“Are you okay?” Honeytail asked Maplebreeze. “You seemed quiet lately.”
“I just can’t get Cloudpaw out of my head.” Maplebreeze shut her eyes. Honeytail held his breath. He hadn’t heard any of the siblings mention Cloudpaw in a while. “And how helpless we all are.”
“You don’t want to leave do you?” Honeytail loved Maplebreeze and would go if she wanted to, but he also wanted to stay in the first place that really felt like home to him.
“I don’t think leaving would make it any better. Cloudpaw and Stormstrike are already gone. Birchwhisker can’t take another loss.” Maplebreeze leaned against him. “I’m glad I have you to confide in. Willowbranch and Thundercry want to jump into doing something right away instead of thinking with a level head like you.” They intertwined tails.
“I love you.”

territory
located within the infamous canadian rockies in the southern part of canada, the clan has a rather large territory. the primary water source for the clan is lake louisein which creates the eastern border of the clan and a protective first line of defense in getting to the clan's "camp". this lake also means that all clan members are trained how to fish. hidden within the rocky mountainside on the right side of the lake are the clan dens; one must climb up the almost completely vertical rock & make it to a small ledge jutting out about halfway up the cliffside. there is a secret opening, but to enter one must move the rolling boulder/rock out of the way to slip into the den area. a space is a large, open cave/cavern, where the majority of the cats all sleep. the only different "den" is a the healers den, which is a smaller cave that breaks-off of the main space. the weather here is typically very cool; summer and spring tend to be warmer but never hot, autumn begins to cool down, and winter is freezing cold w/ a constant blanket of snow & ice. to speak to starclan, the healer & leader have to swim to the "deep lake" within the lake louisein, which is a small underwater cavern.

ranks (from high to low)
leader the clan leader is a rank for a single cat, & is the highest rank achievable. every leader gains the surname of "moosestar". basically, a leader would keep their warrior name but just add to it; an example would be "silverpelt the moosestar". each leader gains 9 lives from the ancestors & gods at the beginning of their rule, as well as an added strength that is deemed the 'bull-moose', which refers to the larger/stronger adult male moose who are typically the strongest of their species. the leader also has control over assigning the hunting patrols.
deputy this rank is the second in command, having power over every rank except for the leader & being considered equal to the healer. typically has no blood relation to the ruling pair, it is simply the cat selected by the leader to take their place, should they pass or retire. there is only one deputy in the clan. the deputy typically is the leader's most trusted cat in the clan, one that they go to for advice on clan matters. the deputy also has the control over assigning the guard patrols.
healer this cat has the strongest connection to starclan & the gods; they have a direct line of communication with them, both in their dreams & if they choose to go to the "deep lake". this cat is the one who has a storage of herbs & treats those who are sick or injured, as well as helps queens in the birthing process.
healer app. there are typically 2 healer apprentices, & these cats are competing for the future role of healer. they are both learning the same things, & eventually it will be narrowed down to a single apprentice who has shown the most potential in their training.
guards the guards make up about half of the clan. these are the protectors of the clan, the true warriors, with two standing guard at the den entrance each night. they are the fighters who, should a predator or another clan attack, defend everyone else.
hunters the hunters make up the other half of the clan. they are the cats who focus on feeding the rest of the clan. prey must be brought to the camp so that everyone has a fair share to eat; it is forbidden to catch & eat prey for yourself without sharing, & is highly punishable.
apprentices these are the trainees, who are split between hunter & guard trainees. the younger members of the clan, typically within the ages of 6 to 12 moons. they are 'scouting out their futures' aka training. each apprentice has an assigned mentor, which is an adult cat within the clan.
queens also sometimes referred to as 'queen-mothers', these are the nursing mothers of little ones or pregnant females of the clan who will soon have kits.
kits these are the kits, under the age of 6 moons, who are seen as the future of the clan; they will be the next alphas, healers, etc. they are incredibly important to keep safe.
elders these are the older members of the clan who have retired from their previous positions. typically it is due to the influence of their older age, such as stiffness of joints, blindness, deafness, etc. but it can also be younger cats who have experienced a debilitating injury that has forced them to retire early.

spirituality
there are two aspects. the first is their connection to their ancestors. these cats believe that when a cat in their clan dies, it takes its place among the stars. these felines believe that each star is one of their ancestors. when a shooting star is seen, it is a troubling sign, because it resembles the spiritual/eternal death of an ancestor; typically this signifies negative changes or a threat coming in the clan. there are also two 'gods' that the clan worships, the bull & the cow. the bull is the male moose who represents physical strength, & is the protector of the clan; he is seen as a pure white moose w/ massive antlers & light blue eyes. the cow is the female moose who represents care/compassion, & is the nurturer of the clan; she is seen as a piebald white & brown moose w/ no antlers & heterochromatic blue & brown eyes.

oddities
there are a few things that are intensely unique to the clans of mooseclan. these cats' clan is named such for a reason; it is said they have the "strength of a moose within a cat's body", which is how they have the strength to push the boulder out of the way in front of the camp den. these cats also exhibit incredible vision; due to the darkness of the cave they call home, their eyes are able to adjust in a matter of seconds to light/dark changes, and they can see just as clearly/sharply in the dark as they can in the light. finally, these cats have an enhanced metabolism that allows them the ability to adjust their body temperature, which is helpful especially during the intense cold that they face during the winters. it is important to note that any cat that has even a fraction of mooseclan blood will have all of these observable traits; for example, if a cat left the clan many moons ago but later a different cat appeared on their territory that showed these traits, that second cat would be assumed to be the first cats kin & accepted within the clan.

iindentthe weeping willows was founded by a rogue whom harbored a special gift, enabling them to be able to speak to the dead. upon the discovery of these active grounds, they decided to settle themselves and their small band of followers in order to tend to these restless souls whom promised protection and reward for their obedience. every few moons or so, the leader will travel to the single white willow they call the hanging tree to meet with the fallen and discuss the wellness of the group. however, no matter what time of the day, month, or year it is, the leader is always encountering spirits───they see and hear them around every corner, and they are constantly bombarded with their memories. in order to preserve this gift given to the leader, the single child of the current leader born with the gift will become the one to inherit the throne at their parent's passing or once they have retired. those with royal blood, as it is often called, will only be those to take-over as the leader, no others. if there does come a time when the leader passes and an heir had not yet been produced, often the spirits will take matters into their own hands to reward a cat they feel worthy enough to lead with the gift.

iindentbut is it really a gift, or a curse?

iindentthe domain of this group encompasses an entire creek and the land surrounding it───the banks are lined with cattails, reeds, and, of course, willow trees, with their leaves swaying at the water's edge. the creek is abundant with fish and other prey of the like to hunt, and the surrounding forest just as so. after a hurricane ripped through the area many years ago, uprooted and fallen trees are the best sources of shelter among the grounds. just a few foxlengths shy of the creek, the group resides among these fallen trees to rest at night. a commonplace toward the center is where they gather to share tongues and simply converse, or to attend meetings with the leader. outside of these spiritual grounds are a scattering of dense forest and overgrown clearings, places none other than the border patrols or hunting parties will roam. the group never touches paw further than the forest lines, where a great river rushes and gurgles, separating the safety of their dark forest from a bright, unexplored valley.

iindentafter sickness and harsh weather conditions disbanded the group many moons ago, a descendant of their past leader, born with the gift, has arisen. guided by the spirits, they return with their rag-tag band of follows, much like their founders had, to the sacred grounds to start anew. it is now up to them to restore what once began here at the weeping willows . . .

both of thistlehearts parents had been supposed loners when they joined jaggedclan; they refused to talk about their past, clearly having some clan background but not willing to talk about it. thistleheart's mother was already heavily pregnant at this time, & they sought refuge to provide a safe birth for the kits. now, she ended up being the only kit out of five that was not stillborn. then, nearly thirty moons later, another loner sought to join with a mysterious background. thistleheart quickly fell head over heels for this tom, & soon little feathereyes was born. but soon after, tragedy struck, and her new mate grew sick with whitecough; it was too far along to save him. the last thing he told thistleheart was, if anything ever happened to jaggedclan, to find mooseclan, and that she & feathereyes would be accepted there if they told the mooseclan cats his name & relation to them. last moon, right after feathereyes received her warrior name, jaggedclan had disbanded due to a terrible winter, which resulted in the loss of many lives due to the inability to find enough prey to feed all of the mouths. and so the two she-cats began the journey to the mountains to find the mooseclan that they had been told of.

the scent of a strange cat entered the pair of mollies senses, and they followed the scent as it grew stronger. they stopped at the side of a large lake, both stopping to take in the cool water to ease their dry throats when they heard a strange call that resembled the low yet nasally grunting sounds of a moose. the amber-green eyes of feathereyes and the heterochromatic eyes of thistleheart shot up, landing on the lean form of a dilute gray calico cat that stood on a small ledge, more than halfway up the nearby rock wall. "who are you and why have you come into mooseclan's territory?" she called down to the pair, her soft green eyes never leaving their forms as she gracefully climbed down the rock wall, leaping elegantly onto the ground about a foot or two away from the pair. thistleheart stepped forward to stand infront of her daughter before speaking, her voice low and, while not trying to sound rude, her voice was sharp, as per usual for her. "my name is thistleheart, and this is my daughter feathereyes. we are from the now disbanded jaggedclan, but my mate, her father, on his deathbed told us to come here, to find mooseclan." now a bit more relaxed at the odd request, her eyes filled with a curiosity to learn more. "and who, may i ask, was your mate?" the smaller form of the tabby stepped forward, proud of who her father was, and said in a confident voice; "my father was a dark gray tabby tom named dustpelt." there was an immediate change in the mooseclan cats facial expression; it was clearly a shock to her to hear that name, and the mother loner took this as a positive sign, but couldnt help but wonder what it meant. "how did you know my dustpelt?" she asked. ashbreeze had to physically shake her head to clear her thoughts enough to get her voice to speak up again; "dustpelt was my older brother. you are both welcome here. come, follow me, i'll take you to the camp dens."

several days had passed since the leader had stumbled across the pair of she-cats at the lake, and both had been accepted into the clan among specific ranks. both had to pass several tasks to be selected into their ranks; thistleheart became a guard due to her excelling during a 'battle' with another clanmate to test her skills, and feathereyes became a hunter due to her excellent speed & agility that had been shown while hunting. thistleheart and ashbreeze left the camp early that day to do a patrol of the clan's territory, and towards the end of their patrol, both molly's ears perked up at the soft mewing sounds coming from a large oak tree. neither of them could see exactly where the sound was coming from, but upon locking eyes, the leader nodding at the guard, both she-cats leapt into the tree and began to climb. ashbreeze called out to thistleheart that they were done with the search, and both mollies returned to the ground. ashbreeze set down the small gray kit that she had found, and thistleheart's motherly instincts kicked in and she began to groom the kit. "i'm ashbreeze the moosestar, leader of mooseclan, and this is thistleheart. whats your name, little one? how did you come here?" the little kit was clearly shaken up, practically skin and bones he was so thin, and his little voice shook as he spoke up. "i'm palekit. a big bird picked me up and carried me for awhile before i bit his feet and he dropped me in this tree. can i be in your clan? i dont like being alone..." the two mollies immediately took pity on the young kit, clearly not old enough to be apprenticed yet, and the leader gave a small smile. "of course little one. come, i'll carry you up. thistleclan, complete the border patrol for me please." picking up the kit by his scruff, she trotted off in the direction of the lake/cliffside.

thistleheart continued on in her solo patrol of the border, and with the sound of cracking twigs, her body tensed and her ears pinned. the gray and white form of a tom emerged from the bushes, and she immediately let out a loud hiss, not recognizing him as a member of mooseclan. immediately sensing her aggression, the larger tom lowered his head, his eyes on the ground as he spoke in a soft voice. "please ma'am, i mean no harm. i'm stonefrost. my clan was torn apart by illness; it took my mate, my family. i'm simply looking for a new place to call home." still on edge but less ready to pounce after his words, the molly simply nodded to him, gesturing him to follow with a head motion; ashbreeze would determine his fate, not her.

as thistleheart brought the tom up the cliffside to the camp, he was slower than she was at climbing the rocks but did not falter or struggle; something she made note to tell ashbreeze. as they got to the ledge, the tabby calico pushed the boulder out of the way, and the silver and white tom gave an odd look but entered as he was told. thistleheart brought him up to the dilute calico molly, who had just gotten palekit to settle down in the healers den break-off of the cavern. the leader took the refuge aside, to the back of the camp where she herself slept, and sat down to speak to him. she heard his story, his tale of loss, why he was here and what he was seeking. and in return, ashbreeze explained to him how their clan worked, and how he would need the ancestors and the gods blessing if he was to join their ranks; he had to join her for the swim to the deep lake, which for a regular cat like him would be dangerous. but he was willing to make the risky trip if it meant a new home.

redoak was originally known as a loner named 'bark', and when his prior clan, owlclan, found him he was renamed to 'darkened bark'. he couldnt remember much about his time before owlclan; it was as though whenever he tried to focus too hard on a past memory, everything just turned blurry, like it was surrounded by a fog that he couldnt see through. he lived within the clan for 5 moons, serving as their deputy, but a group of badgers began attacking the camp in rounds, and this final attack caused the few remaining clanmembers to disband as they fled the brutal scene. praying to starclan that he would either find other survivors or find a new home, based on where starclan wanted him, he stumbled across mooseclan by total accident. or as he would say, he ended up where the ancestors desired for him to be. it was odd though, because everything seemed vaguely familiar to him; the lake, the cliffsides, the camp dens. he wasnt found at the border by anyone; he was following an invisible pathway to the cliff that the dens were in, taking every turn and twist as if it were second nature to him. how did he know where to go, what to do? was this starclan taking over of his paws for him?

as he got to the edge of the lake, he lowered his body to crouch beside the waters edge, taking deep gulps of the cool liquid. hardly a second flashed when his ears perked up, catching the sound of a twig cracking behind him. he didnt have time to turn around before he felt claws dig into his back, and immediately he went into defense mode. a brief fight ensued, mainly made up of hissing and kicking, until the pair of cats broke apart for the first time, allowing the tom to see the cat who had attacked him; how in starclan was she not even out of breath? "excuse me but can you tell me what i did to illicit such a quick attack with no provocation?!" the calico pinned her ears at the disrespect of his tone, snapping her reply back at him at first but calming her tone down at the end. "you drank from the sacred lake but you have no tie to mooseclan; this is a sign of disrespect. who are you and why have you come so deeply into my clan's territory?" taking the chance to sit down, he kept his eyes on the molly while she spoke, licking at the wound she has caused on his chest, as to stop the bleeding. "i apologize for any disrespect on my part, but know it was unintentional. my last clan was torn apart by badgers, and i have been praying to starclan to bring me where i belong. this is where i ended up."

it was at this moment that the mooseclan leader took a step towards him, her eyes narrowed as she truly looked him over for the first time. "do i... know you?" the moosestar said, her voice a bit softer, holding an almost confused tone. the black & rust tom gave her an odd look, not quite sure what she meant, and shook his head. "not that i know of, but if i'm being honest with you, i dont remember much of my past before owlclan. its all just a blur of distant, unclear memories..." he barely finished speaking before the calico's eyes widened and she leapt, once again, at the tom; this time however, instead of hissing she had a purr emanating deep within her throat as she nuzzled at him. "oh my stars; oaky! i havent seen you since we were apprentices and you went missing during your warrior test." in that moment, it was like he was in a dream, and he watched a young version of himself being chased out of mooseclan by a crazed fox; by the time he had lost the fox, it had begun to pour down rain, and he was so far outside of mooseclan territory that, since the rain washed away the scents, he couldnt find his clan. shaking his head heavily as he returned to the present, he felt a weight leave his body, and saw the calico standing at his side. slowly, he stood to his paws as well, and a very small smile appeared on his face. "ashpaw.. well i guess its not paw anymore huh? i cant believe im home.." the molly reached forward with a massive smile on her face as she nuzzled him again; "its ashbreeze now, ashbreeze the moosestar. welcome home oak. lets get you settled in, then we can make the swim to the deep lake to get you your warrior name." as the pair walked towards the cliffs, neither noticed the way their tails intertwined as they stepped in unison; just like old times.

With the calming of the storm, Jayfur had decided to take his six daughters out for a small walk. It had been awhile since he had spent time with just his girls. The tom missed Woodbloom greatly, but had promised to visit her once things had gotten under wraps again. For now Jayfur would spend the day with his girls, getting to know them better before they grew up and went on with their lives. The tom watched as his daughters walked and jumped in front of him, their eyes sparkling with excitement. A sense of pride and joy wash over the warrior, grinning slightly. "It's so good to have you girls here with me to complete your training. Although I'm sure your mother is worried sick about you guys." Jayfur meowed, sightly chuckling. "Well I'm sure mother is just fine! I mean we get to explore HazeClan now too!" Finchpaw pipped up. "Ya!" Willowpaw meowed after Finchpaw. The two she-cats exchanged looks before tackling one another and beginning to play fight. It didn't take long for both Sparrowpaw and Twigpaw to join, however both Dahliapaw and Wrenpaw remained standing next to their father Jayfur. "Their kinda crazy aren't they?" Dahliapaw meowed, letting out a laugh and gently nudging Wrenpaw. Letting out a small chuckle, Wrenpaw gave a small nod. "I guess... But doesn't that mean we're crazy too?" she asked, tilting her head a bit. Jayfur listened and watched his daughters, letting out a laugh causing all six of them to stop and look at him. "You girls are adorable. So much like your mother and yet your own cat in your only little ways. Come on. Let's keep going." Jayfur meowed, flicking his tail and padding onward.

All six apprentices found their footing and chased after the father, giggling and laughing the whole way. Smirking a bit the warrior took off in a full sprint, knowing that the girls would be able to keep up. "Catch me if you can!" Jayfur called out over his shoulders, making sure to look back and check on the girls every once in a while. At one point when the tom turned around he only noticed that Wrenpaw and Dahliapaw where trailing him. Startled, Jayfur froze in his tracks looking around for the other four apprentices. "Girls!?" Jayfur called out, his heart beginning to race and panic starting to set in. "Now!" Dahliapaw shouted, a smirk forming on her's and Wrenpaw's faces. In a flash four other streaks of fur emerged from their hidden places and launched themselves at Jayfur. On top of that both Dahliapaw and Wrenpaw also attacked Jayfur. With all six of the apprentices throwing themselves at Jayfur, the tom lost his footing and fell to the ground. "We win!" Sparrowpaw purred, a wide grin on the young she-cat's face. Giggeling, Twigpaw gave a small nodd, gently poking Jayfur's nose. "And the powerful six strike again." Twigpaw giggled once more.

Although it had been only a few short moons since the mass loss of many cats in HazeClan, Pantherstar was still beating herself up. She felt like she had failed her clan, let everyone down, but most of all she no longer felt like she deserved to be called leader. To the public, Pantherstar put on a face pretending everything was alright, but when she retired to her den at night she became a mess. However as much as she tried to hide it, her mood change did not go unnoticed by one particular she-cat. Turtledove. Only a mother could tell when their kit wasn't acting right, and thus Pantherstar's behavior worried Turtledove. Like any normal mother, sweet Turtledove decided to confront her daughter and surprise her with dinner that night. "Sweet Pantherstar my darling little star." the fluffy she-cat cooed. The other fluffy she-cat turned to face her mother, startled by the sudden appearance of another cat. With a heavy sigh and a shake of her, Pantherstar turned away from her mother once again. With a flick of her large fluffy tail, Pantherstar tried to shoo her mother away. "Not now mother..." Pantherstar meowed softly. Letting out a smallchuckle, Turtledove stepped closer to her daughter and nuzzled her and began to groom her. "Oh hush it my little star. You can't get ride of me. I know you've been beating yourself up over the past few moons because of everything with the Mint cough wipe out... I know it's hard. It hit us all hard, but no cat is blaming you. You did what you could. You saved us from the dark ages. They look up to you." Turtledove meowed, sitting next to Pantherstar and pulling the she-cat close to her. "Mother please... I let everyone down..." Pantherstar meowed, giving a small shake of her head and her ears dropping.

"Hush my little star. You may see yourself as unfit to lead, but darling your a great leader. You put the clan way before yourself, I mean you refused medical help because at the time they didn't have enough herbs. Your always helping out the other queens and myself, making sure their well taken care of. Pantherstar, my dear little star, if it wasn't for you far more lives would have been lost under Buzzardflight's reign. If it hadn't been for your group and you, who knows if we would have all these glorious kits we have now. I know it's hard to understand, but I know one day your gonna realize that. With that I will leave you alone." Turtledove purred, giving her daughter an affectionate lick on the cheek before standing and taking her leave. As if on cue a starry figured appeared next to Pantherstar, giving the young she-cat a gentle nudge. "How many times do I have to tell you your an excellent replacement... no an excellent successor. Huh Pantherstar?" Hazestar meowed. The fluffy gray and white she-cat jumped once more, and let out a small curse under her breathe. The former leader let out a laugh and gave a small shake of his head. "That never gets old... I'm sorry. However your mother is right Pantherstar. You shouldn't beat yourself up. I understand it's been tough, I too have had my fair share of toughness. Do you remember the drought way back when you where just an apprentice?" the tom asked. Pantherstar gave a small nod, remembering the tough times, the loss of her first love Softpaw. "Y-yes... I remember" she meowed softly. "It had me doubting my skills as a leader at the time too... But no one blamed me for it... They understood that I did what I could. Your doing just fine, heck even better then I at the time. Please do not fret. I shall be taking my leave once again. I'm always around the corner if you need me." Hazestar purred, his figure disappearing quickly as it had appeared.

After speaking with Pantherstar, the tabby leader wondered the moors of HazeClan his heart tugging him towards QuickClan. Although he spent most of his time there in his afterlife Hazestar haden't been there in some time due to the chaos happening in HazeClan. However now, something was telling him that he was needed in QuickClan. The tom rushed to QuickClan, feeling like his paws couldn't carry him fast enough. The gray tabby tom watched in horror as cats he knew and loved seemed to drop one bye one. It was in times like this Hazestar wished he was still alive, hoping maybe then he would be able to prevent tragic deaths like the ones he witnessed. It was hard for him to sit, more like lurk in the afterlife and watching QuickClan suffer so much. It wasn't until Redstar's final death when Hazestar truely felt his heart be ripped from his chest. "I-I...Redstar... I'm sorry." The tom meowed, his voice cracking as tears brimmed at the corners of his eyes.

During the majority of his life, Hazestar was fairly level headed, that was until it came to Redstar. Hazestar sat in silence next to Redstar's body his eyes dull of full of sorrow. Although he wasn't alive anymore, he had to share respects for his best friend, make sure his second home was going to be alright. Hazestar had no worries that Cyanslash would be an excellent leader, the tom always seemed to be level headed with his heart in the right place. "Although your gone... I still won't be moving on. Not until Cardinalheart and Ploverpaw pass on themselves. Although they do have a lot of life ahead of them I pray..." Hazestar meowed, knowing no cat would hear him. "I hope your doing well in StarClan my friend... One day I'm sure our paths will cross again... I love you." he meowed, pressing his nose into Redstar's lifeless body before his starry figure disappeared.
