I would very much like to host a round, though I do find it awkward to host two times in a row, though i'm busy with homework right now. and i'm sick.
anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I feel really bad about this thread's inactivity.
it makes me sad to see all the fun moments we had here coming to an end. But I will continue to try hosting every now and then when possible, and I hope that some of the mods find some free time to do so as well.
also if I havn't hosted in a while, maybe a prod in the pm side saying hey moya,
get back to work or something wouldn't do any harm ;)

^somewhat related to what endless said, I would host on my iPad but it crashes and I lose all the hunger games data when I try to use it so...

As someone who had participated in this thread early on, I can easily say that those who became mods were users who were extremely active back in the day. Heck, I remember falling behind with this thread because things were speeding along quickly. As time progressed, things came up, and we came across times when it took many days for a round to get going. Eventually the time between rounds grew longer, and WCHG slowly came to rest indefinitely.

So someone comments on how dead it is and points a finger at the mods. What then? Force these oh-so-guilty mods to start up another short-lived round, then afterwards have everyone go on with their own business, leaving this thread as this state until another person comments on how dead it is?

Honestly, with the thread's huge inactivity period, it's not weird at all for a mod to host 2+ times in a row if it's to revive the game a bit. But honestly, if there is a more organized attempt at reviving, like a complete revamp as kacchan, suggested, then it wouldn't constantly feel like we're flogging a dead horse.

I do not want any more blame put on the staff for WCHG's inactivity. If you want to point fingers, point them at me. I'll admit that I haven't felt the same passion I felt towards this game when I first chose to restart it, not for a long time. Me, as the owner, should have always maintained and kept the thread active at all times but I've done nothing but the opposite for the past few months. I've always debated on making a post like this, and I can assure you I've been thinking of saying this for months now, and I can finally say it with confidence:

WCHG will be closing down indefinitely.

I do not intend to start this up again in the near future, and please do not ask me if you can remake this or remake it without my consent; to those who haven't gotten their prizes - PM me. I will miss this game, but I see no reason to continuing running it any further when I can't devote myself to it like I used to. Thank you all for the laughs, the ships, the art, the memes, the killing trees and the squirrelcalypse round, the sheer amount number of evil kittens the rounds have fostered, and for many more things that have spawned from this silly forum game that exceeded my expectations for how large it grew.

Goodbye, and in true HG fashion, may the odds be ever in your favor.

ohno oh gosh, I agree with Agent Two. but even though this thread is closing, i will always remember all of the fun I had here. all the friends i made. we will always have our memories, good and bad, for better or worse. I wouldn't be the me who I am today without y'all. and even if this is our goodbye to this thread, as like anything it is merely a fleeting moment,
eek i was about to post a long and weird goodbye to this thread but as i was writing it it made less and less sense so here i go less ramble-y this time
bye, i will always remember you all. i hope you remember me too ive met so many cool people here (one of my biggest artistic inspirations being one of them coughslatecough and many all around amazing people whom i will not dirty their [screen]names by typing) who i will not soon forget.
the memories ive had here will always be with me, and yeah. tearful farewell but understandably necessary. see you all when and if we meet again!

I would write a paragraph or so but it would be icky and rushed soooo ummmmm

I'll just put in here that I've had fun. i'm sure you all have too. I woke up early, stayed up late, and for a game. but it didn't matter if it was a game, because I had fun. there. that's it.
all I can say is that it was great getting to know you all, and your characters and whenever I see any familiar faces around the site I always get exited.
aaaaaaand I suppose i'll finish with a goodbye.

I'll add my own farewell as well. Being someone who usually writes a paragraph or more, expect this to be as long.

I remember someone irl who had a general idea on what I did on here questioning me why I would make a statistics sheet for the game when it's time-consuming and "boring" (as they stated). Honestly, it was mostly because I wanted to do something significant for it. I wasn't really someone who talked to others regularly-- or even had people on the site I talked to often-- at the time, so WCHG was a very meaningful experience for me on CS because I got to be part of a, I guess you can call it, community. There were fun times, rather wild times, and some not-so-pleasant bumps, but ultimately it had a good run.

Anyways, thank you Deimos for creating the thread, the mods for running it, and the players for making it enjoyable. It's only natural that we gradually will lose interest I'm pretty sure there's a good handful of us who were only bound to it due to nostalgia, so it's best to end it with a strong finish.

I loved being a part of this, I love this community and it made so much fun for using our characters in such a fun way!

aw, it's so sad to say goodbye to this thread, but I understand it's the right choice.

I'll miss all of you! I came into this lil' community kind of late, but I truly enjoyed being a part of it, and I won't forget the countless laughs I got from this amazing forum game. :)
