↪ Emeraldchin and one of her sons - Sightpaw - took some time to themselves after his cheribum ceremony. The little tom was eager to learn about his father, especially after being told how much he looked like him, and his mother would've never passed up the chance to tell any of her children about Sightblaze. As they went further, they found themselves in the middle of an exposed meadow with sparse patches of tall grass. The two took the moment to venture out into the middle to capture some warm Newleaf sun on their bodies before heading back - until the threatening cry of an eagle sounded above them.
Mother and son raced for the nearest patch of grass, and Sightpaw swore he felt talons scratch down his back before they ducked into the patch for cover. The eagle became bold and circled their hiding spot, but it wouldn't dive so long as neither of them moved. Emeraldchin's heart raced as she tried to think of an outcome that would leave them both alive, but couldn't think of anything. In hushed whispers, she told Sightpaw to run back to where they came from as soon as she did, and that no matter what she would find Sightblaze and that they would watch over him and his littermates forever. Before Sightpaw could even fathom her words, she ran out of the grass. The eagle quickly dove for her, and the final glimpse Sightpaw would ever see of his mother was her body being dragged to the sky as he raced back to camp by himself...

Slatesun... the first warrior she appointed after rebuilding HazelClan and the one she truly believed would lead it after she was gone. And after all these past four seasons, she never expected him to die the way he did. The reality of the situation flooded Rosestar at once, a sudden pain seizing her heart as she collapsed to the ground and felt her vision fade. She opened her eyes to the blurry gray pelt of her fallen deputy walking away from her, but as she opened her mouth to call out to him, she was tossed back into darkness and woke up with a sharp gasp. She laid quietly on the ground to regain her strength and was thankful she allowed her warriors the moon to rest. No cat should walk upon their leader as she recovered from losing another life.

↪ Age Related | Jayspring wasn't sure what the commotion was about after his hunting patrol came home, but the sight of seeing the medics dart in and out of the caretakers' den was always a sad sight. He tries not to think much of it as he deposits his prey, but once he catches Scorchlight's remorseful eyes he understands what is going on. Approaching the scarred molly, Scorchlight breaks the news that Tortoisecreek is fading and that she wanted to see him before she passed. Jayspring releases a shuddered sigh and heads inside the den, immediately curling up besides his mother, who feels so thin under her long-furred coat. The old tortoiseshell cat lets out a rusty purr, telling her son that she was glad that she and Aurorapond moved to ChaosClan despite her adopted Clan's fair share of troubles. She tells Jayspring not to fret and that he's not as alone as he might feel once she leaves. He nuzzles against her cheek one last time as Tortoisecreek's voice trails off and she passes on...

He listens to her concerns intently and then asks her what they can do. Imbe pauses, at first unsure, until a memory comes back to her. Before she joined the Peak, she'd seen a a traveling trade fair just outside their borders that was stocked with prey and herbs. It's likely they're still lingering around, she explains. Pyrrhus nods, dismissing the premolar before pondering if he should send a group out to find this trade fair... | visit the store to stock up on some needed herbs!
