Number of Mushers: / Number of Dogs: 0 / Next Town Visit: Now
Samuel glanced at the rising sun, anxiety pulsing through him like a wave of water crashing against a beach. He traveled to town for the first time since his father- champion sledder- had passed away. He had decided it was time to complete the legacy and make his own sled team. He named the team after the polar lights, the same lights he had been born under. He glanced up at the sudden booming voice of a seller, advertising a dog that most seemed frightened of. As Sam approached, her noticed that the dog looked more wolf than anything. Though still, he was unbothered by the idea of taking a mutt into my time.
"Ah, young lad! You're the Prose boy, aren't ya? Looking to buy a dog?" The seller encouraged, gesturing to the red-tinted wolf at his legs. Samuel gave the seller- a man he recognized to be Killian, his father's old friend- and shrugged.
"You sure that's a dog, Killian?"
"Purebred czechoslovakian wolfdog, he is. He's one of your father's old dogs pup- only, not a pup anymore. I'll give him to you for free, since you are your father's boy."
"I would have anyways." Sam said thoughtfully, taking the lead from the man.
"You would have what?"
"Even if the dog was a mutt, I would have bought him anyways."
[ Samuel goes into town and purchases a lead dog. ]

location. passed down by generations, many acreages of land has been owned by the blanche family. It is filled with rich pine trees and river's, though holds clearings that were originally for the pastures for horses. They are now used as the training grounds for their sled practices—although, they really do all of the land when they get into their mushing practices and training. The owner's cabin is rather spacious, yet all the same quaint. She adores her dogs and often let's them sleep in the cabin, though sometimes they need to be housed in the stables in case the weather gets quite severe. The stables have been modified to work for the dogs, though some stalls are left normal in case they have any equines in the residency.
history. it had begun in France, where the original blanche family formed a rag-tag group of huskies, forming a sled team that was ridiculed for being weak and useless. They were teased until the real competitions came, and it was then their true colours shone. They were victorious, raking up wins time after time. From then, they breed a lineage of great dogs, strong and wild as the wind—departing France to go to Alaska, where they bought the many acres of land and started a sledding team and riding business. Slowly the family began to lessen with those two particular jobs and go after normal lives, but the legacy continues. Now, one of the great-great granddaughters of the founding blanche family is ready to continue it.
training. the training here is tough and it takes only the strong to deter it. Many dogs cannot handle it, leaving them either as pets or sold off to other mushers. The tempest values the dogs with stamina, intelligence and determination. Their is always a morning sledding race, where the dogs will pull heavy loads across the forest to challenge their strength and will to do hard things. Always, they are praised for their work and given time to rest their aching bones by the warm fire, but it still does not change the hard challenges they face.
attitude. The dogs that they have are often slightly protective in nature, though with a quick command from their master they settle down quickly. Indeed, they are obedient, but only to those they trust. They are similar to the humans, who are a bit rough around the edges but sweet to those they know well. Nonetheless, they are a team that should be known as a force to be reckoned with.
dogs. they team is quite strict on their dogs, only taking the finest breeds and nothing else. They have been known to shove away those that do not fit the bill, but this is very rare.

Ice Shards Team
The Ice Shards team takes camp in a large cabin, home for the dogs and musher. The Ice Shards Team has been known to be very swift and independent. Surrounding the cabin is pine trees and a frozen over lake that the dogs must stay cautious of. The owner had the cabin built away from the town only a few years back so it isn't anything old and still working condition. The dogs are trained hard, but are all given a long nap after their training.

David Johnson's first exposure to dog sled teams and racing were as a young kid. Sadly, he never got to watch his dad actually sled. See, his father had had him at a bit of an older age and had quit sledding not long before he was born. The dogs once part of a team grew older and older as David grew and his father was drained by the years that took more and more of a toll on him. The dogs became his responsibility to take care of as a young boy and he grew to love them and all the energy they had, how they were still itching to go out there and run, run through the ice and snow as if there wasn't a care in the world.
David was still fairly young when he decided to rebuild his father's legacy and build a team of his own. While he was still alive, his old pops taught him as much as he could about this sort of sport, though there wasn't much actual action to be done. Some of the dogs were growing lazy from their own old age and they had already lost the poor leader who had succumb last spring.
Now that his father too was gone and none of the good old team still around, he decided there was no longer time to stall. He had to act now. And so, he searched and searched for the perfect puppy, an Alaskan Malamute to serve as a leader for his future team.
He fixed up his dad's old sled, bought any equipment he couldn't find in the old kennel, saved up money from work and vowed to himself to revive the old team's name. Now he just needed to get dogs for the team. Oh boy.
The team is based near a small town in Alaska. Despite the limited breeds around, they have all sorts of characters among them. But one thing is for sure - they love what they do.
(I didn't know what else to do but a little backstory like thingie.)
(Dogs will be Malamutes, Huskies or mixes between them, most commonly malamutes)

The Team of the Rising Sun are known to have very passionate and energetic pups, seriousness is never needed and jokes are often spread, most of the dogs here are childish at heart, and all the dogs truly want to have a good time. That never does stop their competitive spirit, as these dogs more than ever want victory.
Dog Breeds Shortish furred, erect ears and alert eyes are main traits of these dogs.
Alaskan Husky
American Indian Dog
Greenland Dog
Jamthund
Karelian Bear Dog
Siberian Husky

weather; during summer, you will catch a max of six pieces of prey. during runs, you are more likely to run into tourists so keep an eye out. there might be droughts towards the middle of summer. your team will still receive new dogs but not as much as you would in spring. it is harder to train in the mushy snow, so it will be more difficult for pups to learn at this time.───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Team of Healing Paws
Daisy was always interested in racing sled dogs as soon as she saw the movie Balto. She knew there may be times when it could happen again and decided to build her own team, consisting of mutts and Siberian Huskies. Daisy has been through a tropical storm and 3 tornados so she knows getting supplies to those communities in need is the first priority along with the cleanup. During the off months, she uses a bike to train her team and make sure they keep fit for winter months, and to be ready in case of emergency rises as she knows it can happen at any time and anywhere.
Healing Paws Team consists mostly of Siberian Huskies and mutts but will allow anyone to join.
I'd like a musher to be a female.

”you’re a strong one, aren’t you, steele?” those bold blue eyes
of the long-legged, muscular red husky looked up into eyes of a
similar blue, a few shades darker than his own, and grinned, his
tongue lolling from his jaws as his fluffy tall gave a little wag.
”let’s go for a run. i want to see how fast you can go.”
and with that, the husky tipped back his head and gave a howl
of approval. oh, he would run, all right, on those long legs.
and he would prove he was quicker than the wind itself.

it was a rather cold day. jaques shoved his hands into his pockets, constantly shivering
as he made his way into town. he had felt passionately about dog sledding since he was
a child, and now that he was an adult he would finally be able to achieve what had been
something that felt impossible. with a lot of hard work and elbow grease, arctic drift
would be one of the most successful dog-racing teams.
