overall, the imperius herd values knowledge and strength above all-
however, they do not reinforce these values so much to the point w
here everything and anything is about social ranking. they do have f
un once in awhile, with each horse in their own tightly knit group of
friends, but the imperius herd does stress that they are ambitious,
most horses within the herd are cunning and intelligent. anyone who
is less of that is, at most, slightly disapproved of. however, no one is
bullied within the imperius herd as they like to maintain a sense of
justice - they strive for a positive reputation. the imperius herd likes
to have independence and freedom in what they do.

lower ranks if one wishes to have influence on the herd. however,
challenges usually do not occur within the herd as they do not pr
omote dominance battles. they are known to be a quiet herd that
does not engage unless needed, and when they do, they stand
their ground with solid points. they are horses with cunning minds
and can prove to be great allies. with their close bonding, if you
challenge one member, you challenge the whole herd.

Negrita lifted hia black muzzle, stiffing the musky air. His ears twitched, noticing a small thud on the ground. He whisked around, eyes narrowed and flattened his ears. It's not safe here, he thought, stomping his hoof with a sigh. Why was it so hard? The stallion skidded forward, crashing through the mountain top. This place was nearly perfect, with streams winding around the tall oaks. If only it wasn't so stuffy with so many trees. Never the matter he decided, bounding over a small stream with a graceful leap. Another thud echoed behind him,followed by cracking twigs. Negrita threw himself over a rock, his mane and tail tangling in the branches. He whinnied in pain, a stray twig cutting into his chest. He didn't stop though, charging down the mountain. The paw-steps behind him ceased, and Negrita eased into a trot. He slid down the rest of the cliff, pulling to a stop. Before him stood a vast, dusty plain. He breathed in the fresh air. Short patches of grass dotted his vision and hope flicked in his stomach. This had to be it. Despite the scratches littering his body, he was going to explore.

The herd of rumbling thunder



Placid but fiercely loyal to one another, this herd goes by the belief blood is thicker than water and many pure thunder-blooded mustangs are revered among them. However they are generally accepting and trusting, so more often than not this is over-looked. Roaming the dusty plains, they amble along solemnly. Much of this herd are generally liver, sorrel or tan in colour, with the occasional black and white horse thrown in. But no horse is better than the other just because of their fur, it's what's in their heart that truly matters.

Howling Ridge Herd
HWH have adapted to their cold, fierce winter climate, where the hills are step, the pine and aspen trees are tall, the river runs fast and the grass grows thick. They have fourmed stocky, heavy build for when the snow falls, their coats are think and curly in winter and they shed it each summer.

janus's tail swished back and forth, his ears pinned back. he snorted, his eyes wide. "i have to find somewhere." he said to himself, looking around the plains. the meadow stretched wide, and he exhaled sharply. janus started walking again, frustration mounting inside him. "come on, come on." the cool night breeze made his mane flow in the wind and he stilled, his eyes going upwards. "herd of night sky, please help me find a place for my herd. i cannot do anything until i find somewhere to stay. please." the stallion continued to search the sky, his dark eyes filled with hope. his ears shot forward as a streak of light filled the sky. he whispered a quiet, "thank you." and started galloping in the same direction that the star disappeared to.
as the sun stretched over the mountain, janus sighed happily. the herd of night sky had lead him in the right direction, and he had found the perfect place to start his herd by the time the moon was at its highest. as excited as he was, he didn't have any trouble falling to sleep. his dreams had been filled with his thoughts on the future. he had seen images of his herd, but filled with other horses. they had ran through the meadows together, their hooves pounding on the ground and rumbling like thunder. he shook his head to clear his thoughts. "time to make my dreams a reality." he started walking towards the border.

Ildefonso’s mother had disappeared a few moons ago. She’s told him to stay put, and to avoid the men nearby seeing them; just she was sure she’d hear another horse whinnying, and as a scout, it was her duty to see if this horse could join their now very small herd. She had been caught right before Ildefonso’s eyes, and he had ran, knowing that at least he would not be caught. Only a poor warrior would not understand that sometimes retreat was the best option, and only a fool would call a retreat against insurmountable odds cowardly.
It had left him alone. He could not be the general he was meant to be without guards and scouts under him, as his warriors. But, more importantly, Ildefonso had been lonely for too many months. He knew many stallions ended up travelling alone, but it was rarely without even having access to a herd. He hadn’t even seen there being bands in his life!
Ildefonso knew he had to correct this. And so, on a regular basis, he went on patrols, seeing if he could find the traces or tracks of any other horses that had passed through.

Sorry for doing this, I really doubt that it's an actual issue, but I just got a warning about art theft for using a clearly sourced image, with the search I did for it being from a recommended page about avoiding art theft, and given the standing of that, I feel like removing any images from my posts is the best course for me not being banned. It might be best to save on a Word document the images of the horses I get assigned if my descriptions of the horses don't suit for purposes.
Also probably worth noting I got a false start on this post, and that it wasn't my set mod responding to it... however, the same stuff would be set as my actions in any case, and I can easily change that little description of Ilde, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

The Herd of the Windblown Mountains

Territory; A plateau with many streams and rivers, long, dry grasslands and scattered trees. There are mountains along the north and east borders, and these are dotted with a bit of deciduous forest.

Reputation; The herd is known for being amiable towards strangers and close with friends. Enemies are almost always permanent. However, this greatly varies depending on the lead stallion.

Horses; The horses of the herd are often strangly marked, usually attributed to the abundance of the chimera gene in their population. This doesn't mean that normally colored horses don't appear every once in a while! The breeds range from chincotague ponies all the way to fresians, but purebreds are extremely rare. Although they get many skeptical looks, the herd is quite proud of its diversity.

Everest whirled around at the sound to see a dun horse trotting up to him. By the looks of them, they were quite friendly. "Hello..." he said slowly.
The horse's face brightened more so at the response. "Well, you seem quite lonely. What are you doing out by yourself?"
Their nosiness made the stallion a bit hesitant to reply, but he stated proudly, "I am searching for horses to join my new herd."
"Oh, really? Well then, you've just found one!"

The stallion was quiet as he made his way towards the river in his territory. He had finally claimed the perfect place to call his own territory, and he found the perfect place. It was lush and large, it was perfect for food and shelter and he couldn't be happier.He was was about to go on patrol, he wanted to get more horses into his herd. Breathing in the breeze his hoof hit the ground firmly, that smell of pine and fresh grass always put him in a brighter mood then he was. He wasn't in a bad one but this made his a day just a little better. Walking along the river he would continue his patrol.

As Blazing Jupiter continued his patrol along the river, he came across a beautiful blue roan taking a drink of the water. "Hello," he called, coming to a stop.
The roan lifted their head, ears perked up with surprise. "Hello there. What might I help you with?"
"I was just looking for horses to join my new herd - so far, it's just myself, and it's a bit lonely," he confessed.
The horse let out a soft chuckle, "Well, you won't be lonely anymore."
