"They're dead." Pepper's words escaped her mouth, which stop the constant wave of questions that come from each side, making Pepper feel trapped. Pepper had limped back into camp after the incident with the bear, and she collapsed, unable to move from the slash in her side. Amour had hurried her into his den, and treated her wounds. "Dead." Lily echoed in disbelief. Boom shared the mental pain that ached at their hearts. "Who killed them?" Boom asked, Lily mourning the loss of two of her pups. "A bear." Pepper mumbled in reply, still bewildered at the saddening event. Maybe they were alive when Pepper staggered away, but she left the bear to completely finish them off. Twinges of guilt and fear sparked in her mind, even with the numerous times she attempted to dismiss the thought. Boom murmured something into Lily's ear, and they left, Lily's head hanging low. "Goodbye, Beetle. Goodbye, Valentine." Pepper choked out, her usual chipper, high spirited voice disappearing. "In some way or another, I'll avenge your deaths, not matter the cost."

Today was a mix of both joy and sorrow. Valentine and Beetle perished, and Pepper escaped but with a nasty wound on her side. But Viola was about to become a Tenderpaw, a new dog joined the pack and Bullet heard from Amour that Gabriel would be due any in any moment. Although it was Bullet's duty to ask the question of whether Viola was a worthy Tenderpaw, Bullet would hate to miss the burst of new life in the pack, especially from his own mate. But he had to do what had to be done. Slipping into the nursery, he spotted Gabriel, Reena and her four pups asleep. But Viola spotted Bullet, and bounded towards him. "You ready?" Bullet asked with a warm smile. "Yeah!" Viola chirped, already bounding off. Bullet chuckled and followed the to-be Tenderpaw.

"It's my fault that they died. If I hadn't told them there were foxes into the forest, they'd never had ventured off." Aurelius aggressively spat at himself, shaking his head. "I'm such an idiot." "I'm sure you're not." A tranquil voice came from behind, and Aurelius spun around, and was face to face with the beautiful female known as Melody. "I... hello Melody." Aurelius greeted, swiftly feeling flustered. Melody sat down in silence beside Aurelius, nodding. After a few moments of the simple sounds or buzzing within the pack, Aurelius spoke. "I'm the reason two innocent Tenderpaws are dead." Aurelius grumbled. Melody sighed. "Nothing is your fault, Aurelius." She spoke with a gentle tone. "It was their idea to go search for them." Aurelius returned her sigh. "I guess..." he started. "I guess that's true."

The patrol followed the herd of deer, tracking their every movement. The patrol had planned it carefully. Sparrow and Aurelius was to be on the right, Caden and Raj on the left with Minnow bringing up the rear. Delta was to cut off the herd if they tried to escape through the front. The herd of deer had moved to an area between of large rock, which made the perfect ambush spot. When the herd had settled, the dogs would make their move.

The deer were uneasy, one of the lead buck sensed something was amiss and was on the lookout. His fellow herd members just flicked their ears at him and kept on eating, knowing there was no predators around. At last the stag lowered his head and started to nibble at the dewy undergrowth. That was when the dogs made their move. Aurelius leapt from atop the rock onto the doe they had chosen before hand, the one that obviously looked weaker than the rest and easier to take down. The rest of the patrol then attacked. The herd was up at once and rushed to et away. Many of the them crashed into each other in the rush. Caden darted under the fleeing herd's feet, trying not to get trampled. Being the smallest he was also the quickest and was able leap from deer to deer and try to cut their tendons. Alas, even the deer's feet were to tall for him and he soon gave up and retreated. Standing back and looking around at the battle he saw a buck with his antlers lowered, getting ready to charge Raj. Caden leapt into action. He sprinted towards them, hardly having time to even think, swerving beneath flaying hooves and dodging the terrified deer. Spotting a rock, he bounded up it and leapt off, landing on the charging deer and successfully saving Raj's life. Then everything went black.

Season Fall/Autumn.
Reports With the presence of summer dissipating throughout the lands, autumn returns once more and now most days are cooler
and more bitter. Less prey is to expected for both predators and dogs as they prepare to head south to find warmer areas or get
ready to hibernate during the freezing winter. It is highly recommended for medics to stock up on herbs to fight back cough, alo
ng with herbs that will make whelping more easier, if one does not do that, the life expectancy of young pups will go downhill...

Caelan, Duvessa, Seraph, Rory, Sona and Romeo have brought back x2 squirrels and x2 mouse from their hunt.
Frost's, Seraph's and Maena's patrol was uneventful.
Almond has brought back x1 bindweed and x1 tansy.

maverick had been acting strange all day long... andromeda wondered what the issue was with him, but every time she
went to ask, he would always avoid her or say it was nothing... she knew there was something up, he wasn't like this wi
th her, so he planned to ask again when they arrived back from patrol.

as soon as she heard the crunching of autumn leaves nearby, the aussie's head turned to face the group, her eyes instant
ly landing on the dark shepherd. his eyes immediately widened as soon as they met hers and he quickly looked away and
pretended to talk with the others. they all went away to do their own activities with mars, cassiopeia and diana heading
off to their dens, apollo going to have a quick lesson with haru, and with pluto whom had sneaked off to go and help gai
a out with a few things. before maverick could successfully escape, andromeda had caught him before he could even tur
n away.

"maverick, we need to talk." she said, sounding overly professional. the aussie ushered for him to come over and sit with
her while she sat atop the trunk as usual. he slowly made his way to her and sat as well, avoiding eye contact with the a
ussie. he had been doing this for nearly two moons and it was sickening, andromeda missed it when he would always com
e and sit with her in the early mornings, but now he would run off without her noticing, it kind of hurts her a little.

"um, y-yes, andromeda?" he stuttered out, staring out at the horizon.

"i know there is something wrong, and whatever it is, you know you can always tell me." she stated, looking over to him.
"so please, tell me?" maverick looked over to her as well and then turned away once again. there was a long pause befor
e he decided to speak. "if you really want to know then... fine. a-andromeda, i've been wanting to tell you this for quite
a while now and here we go... i guess." the aussie cocked her head to the side, curious to here his reasoning.

"andromeda... will you be my mate?" he said slowly, looking her in the eye. she was taken aback by the request, so this w
as why he had been acting strange for those two months? she'd never knew that he was the one to like her, she thought h
e'd like diana, or possibly the newbie, but definitely not her. "... o-oh, maverick," she managed to sputter out. he looked
to the side and sighed. "yeah, i didn't know what i was thinking, expecting you to be my mate. guess i was wrong..."

"y-yes."

the shepherd looked back at her, his eyes widened suddenly with confusion. "w-what?"

"yes, maverick!" andromeda repeated once more, a bit more clearly. "i'll definitely be your mate." she nuzzled into the side
of him. nothing but shock was evident on his face for a second, but then came a large smile. he nuzzled her back as they c
ontinued to watch the sun fall, as they always did.

the leaves have started to fade into rich reds and yellows, signaling the approach of winter.
it's still somewhat warm, but prey has started to retreat back into their holes,
and predators lurk closer, searching for suitable dens to wait the winter out.

The whole kennel was buzzing in excitement over the news of pups. Conner was the most affectionate anyone had ever seen him and Tulip was also fussing over Aster. Tulip had found a warm, dry large hole which is where Aster would be staying while she is expecting pups. Rusty was ordered to find soft things to make nesting material and he reluctantly agreed. Sol told him that sometimes to be a member of the kennel you have to do jobs that no one likes. To make up for it, Sol said they would train later. By the afternoon, the kennel was still busy and talkative.

"Geez, it's almost like the pups are here already," Sandy grumbled, resting her head on her paws.
"Haha, it really is getting busy, huh?" Kierat agreed.
"You must be glad," Goldie said and turned his head towards him. "You won't be the smallest one anymore!" Kierat snorted. Beside them Bella was watching Aster and Conner as they talked. She felt the happiest she had ever been. Aster was a close friend and Bella was glad she was able to help her find a mate. She had thanked her a million times but Bella just said it's what friends do.

"Hey, I heard a rumour," Sandy said.
"What is it?" Goldie asked. All the dogs turned to look at her.
"Apparently, Bella here helped Aster confess and make Conner hers," she smiled. Goldie and Kierat mumbled to each other and Bella stood up.
"Yep, that's true. I helped her. We are friends after all!" she barked happily.
"Looks like you'll be our love guru then!" Kierat laughed. The dogs laughed amongst themselves. Suddenly, Seria, and Tulip walked towards them. Tulip said some parting words and then went outside. Seria turned to the group.

"Well then, we should sort out some patrols. With Aster's pups on the way, we shouldn't slack off," she said.
"That's true. Let's get moving then," Kierat nodded and stood up. Patrols were then sorted and the dogs left the camp.

As the prey becomes more scarce, predators lurk closer to find new dens and any prey to eat. Pup life expancy goes down with the colder weather, so stalk up on herbs.

Sahar stood guard, searching around the clearing where the blood was found.
Vixen was nearby, looking around at all the herbs in the area. "It's not enough blood to be dead, but whoever that is will need some treatment." The shaman stated, going over to sniff the puddle. He could also smell some other kind of fluid, but he wasn't quite sure what it was.
'Definitely a fae...' Sahar thought. That was all he really could make of it. As the two followed where there was a scent trail, they came up to an abandoned badger den. As he leaned in to give the den a sniff, he was automatically greeted with a strong, loud growl.
Out came a Finnish Lapphund fae, her teeth bared. "Watch your step!" She barked. Sahar was close to going into a defensive mode, yet, he could see the three pups in her den. "Are you sure you can care for those pups on your own?" Sahar questioned with his tone a little smug.
"Oh, definitely not! It's too cold to find enough food on your own for pups!" Vixen piped up, getting a glare from the Alpha.
The fae flinched, looking back at her pups. "Can you help?" She questioned.

Sahar and Vixen find a Finnish Lapphund Mother with thr ee pups. Two of the three are sickly. They'll need close attention to survive. The mother, due to the pains of birthing, will need either goldenrod, horsetail, or cobwebs.
Trix, Aphrodite, and Zinc catch a hare and a vole. (x3 servings)
Vixen collects cobwebs and coltsfoot.
