For some, the first snows have arrived. For others, it is simply a chill in the air. regardless, all Clans will experience Leaf-bare as a harsh and unforgiving season. Queens and kits are more likely to die during birth, prey will flee from patrols, and loners are less likely to stray from their warm city homes. In addition, predators and sicknesses abound, waiting for the chance to pick off the weak. All in all, it is best for a Clan to be at full strength during this time.

↪ Hortulata | The patrol passed by uneventfully.

↪ Baya | Ricotta had suffered a disastrous-looking fall from a cliff while on patrol and had her Clanmates fear for her life. She was found alive, but unconscious, with her back skewed in an awkward position. She was gently carried home so Gooseglare could assess her condition where he determined that she might've gotten a severe fracture. Luckily he thinks he can save her without her ending up paralyzed and quickly got to work, using +1 bindweed, +1 stick, and +1 broom almost immediately after his diagnosis. She'll also need three moons of rest for a full recovery.

↪ Lore | The patrol was terrified when they realized they were being chased by an avalanche, running for cover as the onslaught of snow headed their way. Silkworm tragically wasn't fast enough, and she lost her life after getting buried alive...

↪ Pierce | The battle party made themselves known to the rogue band, and their leader wasn't dumb enough to send their cats to battle with experienced Clan cats. They decided to leave the Celestials' territory, a small cheribum-aged cat breaking away from the group to ask if they could join. Pierce was quite surprised at the young cat's tenacity, questioning why they wanted to join when they had their old group. The cat shrugged, saying they were a new member of that band, and they didn't feel welcomed there anyway.

↪ Disease related | Tunatail struggled to hang on for the sake of his mother, even telling Fernmist as much, but he couldn't bare living much longer and passed on. The rit zien leaned over to gently close his clouded eyes, propping the limp tom to a more comfortable, almost sleeping position, before leaving the den to inform his mother. The sound of Inkbread's scream enough to stay with her forever.

↪ Disease related | Hawkfrost knew he didn't have left; he was old, and the symptoms were so severe it was like he was a shell of the wise cat he used to be. A messenger was sent to the Paradise Camp to inform friends and family that he would be passing soon, but they returned with Mambo Magnolia. The virtue ignored all protests as she charged to his den, ignoring the scared tremble in her legs, settling down beside the unconscious tom until he took his final breath in his sleep. Magnolia shuddered, pressing her nose against his forehead and willing him to get up the same way she willed tiny kits back to life, but she knew it wouldn't have worked. Her mate was gone.

↪ Disease related | Whimbrelface's ear twitched weakly as he swore for the umpteenth time that he heard Gingerpelt speak to him, he elected to ignore her though, assuming his late sister's voice was the result of a delusion as he drifted off to sleep. He woke up, baffled to see his eye sight clear for the first time in seasons, and even more baffled to see the black and ginger tabby pelts of both his littermates. Gingerpelt quipped that it wasn't nice to ignore her, her eyes filled with emotion, and Basspelt knocked his forehead against his brother's affectionately when Whimbrelface got up to his paws. The once-sick tom turned to look at his body, lifeless and cold, and realized his siblings were here to welcome him. His face eased into a tired smile, following his brother and sister as the three cats left the den together to embark on one last adventure before their spirits returned to their own hunting grounds.

↪ Disease related | Grasswhistle considered herself lucky, even in these dark circumstances, that she was able to be with her mate as her life faded before her eyes. She and Martencloud spoke in hushed tones, the pauses on her end becoming longer as she struggled to speak. She told him she was sorry for keeping him waiting so long after RisingClan disbanded, and that she would regret not seeing Weaselpaw and Barleypaw grow. Martencloud told her she had nothing to apologize her and gently cleaned the rheumy tears around her eyes. At such gentleness, Grasswhistle fell into an eternal slumber, waking up to see Ferretkit and Pampaskit ready to guide her home...

↪ Disease related | Songsparrow beckoned Fernmist to her, thanking her former apprentice for all she's done so far for the Celestials' and all she's done for her. Fernmist's eyes well up, not ready to say goodbye, but too acquainted with the sound of a final breath as Songsparrow's spirit leaves her body. The younger rit zien buries her head in her thick neck fur, not caring over the possibility of getting sick as memories of her first day as a grigori with her late mentor at her side overwhelm her.

↪ Disease related | Nightsky lost her life shortly after Flybackpaw's ceremony passed, as if she'd been hanging on until she was certain the Celestials' would be okay so long as the next generation of rit zien's was confirmed. Gooseglare couldn't hide how distraught he was, voicing his fears to Fernmist when the two found time to talk. With a pang of sorrow, both realized they were now very much on their own.

↪ Disease related | Like her older brother, Silkfeather succumbed to the disease, begging forgiveness for accidentally making more of her Clanmates sick and for leaving Cragshriek alone.

↪ Disease related | Swooptalon was another causality lost, leaving behind her extended family long-time mate.

↪ Disease related | Sprinklerain couldn't recover and quickly succumbed to disease, dreaming of the mountains of her first home as her life ebbed away.

leaf-fall -- snow lies in massive drifts over the territories. even the warmest areas feel the effects, from frost killing vulnerable plants, to causing coughs to those who have experience too much exposure. as prey and herbs have become scarce, there will also be fewer strangers looking to explore the vast clan territories. queens may have a harder time kitting, so medicine cats will need to be well-stocked and prepared for the following moons. There were whispers of a rouge clan, one which did not follow their ancestors. They killed and stole, hurting as many as they could. They cared little for any morals. This would soon end in their deaths, as Starclan opted to destroy this rouge clan themselves, rather than risk having any good clan cat attempt to raise a army against them. All but one clan cat died. Her name was Marshpaw, the youngest out of all the clan cats. She was the only one to have any sort of light in her life, and as such was heavily bullied by her fellow appetences. She was spared by Starclan when her clanmates were covered in snow, just after she was given her warrior name of Marshpelt. Now all alone, she must restart anew. Inspired by the blizzard that purified her life, she decided to name her new beginning Frostclan.

Territory: Frostclan is by a giant lake. and a abandoned twoleg nest. For the most part, Frostclan is out of the way, since that paticular part of the lake has been abandoned. It is marked by two specific large trees. There used to be lots of foxes in the area, before they were all driven off by twolegs, leaving their empty dens for use by the clans. The majority of cats live in these dens, which make up small networks. These networks are dedicated to specific ranks. The twoleg nest is reserved for a few ranks. The former bedroom houses the leader, the bathroom is rarely used, unless there are guests. The kitchen is for the elders, and the living room contains the kits and queens. Apprentices,Warriors, and the Deputy live in the fox holes.

Prey: Mice [1] are the Frostclan's most common prey item, since they are everywhere in the abandoned twoleg nest. They also eat fish from the lake, both little [2] and big [3]. Cats also can eat Squirrels [2] and shrews [1]

Predators: Cats won't have to worry about twolegs for the most part, since the area is abandoned. However, on rare occasions, a couple twolegs will appear. They point strange black objects at the cats, and maybe kidnap one or two of the members , but for the most part they are harmless. However what isn't harmless are the snakes that can often be founded in the grasses. There aren't small enough snakes to hunt, so they have to deal with large ones. Occasionally a fox will appear and cause trouble. Badgers and rouge dogs are also huge troubles.

Ranks:
Leader: Self explanatory. They rule over the clan and receive nine lives from Starclan.
Deputy: The one who manages the day to day clan life. Will replace the leader if they die.

Warrior: The normal cats. They hunt, fight, and protect the clan. They make up the bulk of the cats.
Apprentice: In training Warriors. They have "paw" as their suffix until they grow up enough. They do all sorts of duties around camp in edition to learning the ropes of clan life.
Kit: The youngest of the clan cats. They play in the relative safety of the dens. They turn into Apprentices when they are old enough.

Medicine Cat: A special type of cat who help cure their sick and wounded fellows with herbal medicine. They also have direct contact with Starclan.
Medicine Apprentice: kits who decided to train in the way of medicine instead of war.

Queen: A she-kit who is currently kitting, and will stay in the nursery until her kits are ready to become apprentices. However, there are the occasional she-cat (and even tom) who stay in the nursery to take care of kits.
Elder: A cat who retried to a happy life of telling stories. They are important, as they are the ones who remember history and pass it down to the newer generations.

season: leafbare / winter
snow lies in massive drifts over the territories. even the warmest areas feel the effects,
from frost killing vulnerable plants, to causing coughs to those who have experience too
much exposure. as prey and herbs have become scarce, there will also be fewer strangers
looking to explore the vast clan territories. queens may have a harder time kitting, so
medicine cats will need to be well-stocked and prepared for the following moons.

• i recommend noting if there are any cats that you'd prefer be skipped over in the case of death rolls/injuries

TUNDRACLAN ▬ selkirks

hunting results
• mr. j's patrol split up, believing that it would be the best way to catch more prey. for a moment, it seemed to be a good idea as mr. j caught x1 common raven. however, his joy at the catch turned to terror when he heard an alarm cry. mr. j caught up to the rest of the patrol to find rogues closing in on the clan cats, his friends already beginning to fight for their lives against the aggressive rogues. after a difficult fight, the tundraclan warriors managed to chase the rogues away, but not without a loss: by the time they returned to camp, warblercry had succumbed to her wounds. though she had only been in the clan for a short time, its clear that she will be missed.
• gaster and their patrol gathered around a small yet respectable pile of fresh-kill, counting up their catches of x1 stoat, x1 tundra vole, x2 hares, and x1 tundra shrew before dividing it up to carry back to camp. however, the small of freshly caught prey must have attracted a hungry fox, and the group is left to scatter when the predator lunges for pearleaf. however, in the brief attack and the flee to get away, several members of the patrol sustain injures. lionwhisper receives a major scratch on his flank, which will require x1 comfrey root, x1 cobweb, and x1 moon of rest. violetheart also suffers from minor bleeding after getting tangled in brambles. however, her wounds are shallow and will require only x1 moon of rest.
• during hollystar's patrol, the group watches as their leader chases a squirrel higher and higher up a tree. with the colder weather beginning to settle over their territory, hollystar knows that every piece of prey counts, but she fails to notice a dead branch until it gives way under her weight. the patrol watches in horror as hollystar plunges to the ground, ultimately losing a life after the fall. for obvious reaons, the patrol turns back home, carrying x1 lemming and x1 duck.

border patrol results
• sunglow's patrol returns to camp with high spirits, showing off x4 pebbles to their clanmates.
• terrabite's patrol crosses paths with a warrior-aged cat. though initially wary of the stranger, the patrol warms up to them and offers them a chance to return to tundraclan's camp for the night.
indent↪ the warrior is a "gray classic bicolor mediumhair with green eyes," colored by H155 on Grey_Hoodie's lines. here is their starting geno: Ll, B-, Xo-, dd, A-, mcmc, C-, WsWs
• cloudytree's patrol also meets a warrior-aged cat, though the circumstances are much less pleasant. the cat was hiding from a group of rogues, which quickly turns on the tundraclan cats, circling the clan cats before attacking. thankfully, with the help of the stranger, the warriors manage to drive the rogues away, though dunestep receives a major infection on a deep cut on his shoulder. he will require x1 honey, x1 chervil, and x1 moon of rest.

herb hunting results
• with cockroachstar and tsunamibite there for protection, swanflight gathers x1 dock, x1 cobweb, x1 raspberry leaves, and x1 marigold without any incident.

training results
• plumepaw failed after spraining his paw. thankfully, the medicine cats determine that he'll live from the injury despite the pain, reassuring plumepaw that he'll be able to return to training after taking x1 moon of rest.
• all of the other apprentices pass and learn their respective skills.

assessment results
• though all of the apprentices pass their assessments this moon and are ready to receive their names as full warriors of tundraclan, apricotpaw sustains critical bleeding during the assessment. though she proved her worth to become a warrior, she will, unfortunately, need x1 cobwebs, x1 raspberry leaves, and x1 marigold as well as x3 moons of rest to properly recover.

• though tundraclan remains on high-alert for any signs of attack and cloudytree continues to update the clan about anything she has heard of from inside the rogue group, the rogues still manage to lauch an attack, during which the rogues steal x1 tundra shrew, x2 tundra voles, x1 rock ptarmigan, and x1 common raven.
• after venturing out on two patrols this moon, it seems that pearleaf may have pushed herself too hard and returns to camp coughing. the medicine cats notice and determine that pearleaf is sick and will need x1 tansy, x1 hawkweed, and x2 moons of rest to ensure that it doesn't become more severe.

sonothingbreaks
krokorok is found just on the outskirts of jubilife city, and is offered to join the clan as they make their way into the large industrialized two-leg town. the two-leg buildings here are massive sky-scrapers that tower far up into the sky, and there is far less patches of "nature" than in the smaller canalave city the clan had previously been in. they find one such bustling building that had a rusted hole leading into an alleyway, and sneak inside, making it their temporary camp for the time being.

banette and cursola are found wandering a bit aimlessly. banette is defensive at first and very wary of joining another clan, muttering about them not having good luck with these things, but his father convinces him to give it a shot, because its safer and an easier way of life for all.

Stretches of prairie and walls of forest have been turned into a glacial landscape – stark stone and branch break out from beneath a blanket of snow, but there is little other to color the barren white horizon. Storms are much more frequent, with cat and prey alike ending up snowed into their dens. Sicknesses are much more likely to occur and latch onto those that wander during patrols. Queens should be extra careful of their health and that of their kits, as there will be a shortage of herbs and prey until warmer months return.

In a fierce chase, focus solely devoted to the fleeing
hare ahead, Leafgale lost track of his surroundings
and ended up following the long-eared runner onto a
thick stretch of ice. Slick as it was, the tom lost his
footing and skidded onto a thinner sheet, immediately
cracking and giving way beneath his weight. While his
clanmates were able to retrieve him, Leafgale had
already gone into shock and his paws were showing
signs of frostbite. The tom will need three moons of
rest to recover as well as 2x feverfew and 1x catmint.

The cats have returned home from the gathering. It was rather uneventful and went without any major occurrences, but Northstar was happy with her performance. She has shown her majesty and grace to the other clans and has definitely gained their respect. She wasn’t so sure about how her subordinates did. She quickly lost sight of them. It was normal with Nightfall, even for a cat he was abnormally silent and sneaky like a shadow. As for Thornblaze, she simply did not care for that lazy tom and sometimes it was better not have him around. She was hoping that he didn’t bring any shame to her clan by telling too many of his made-up stories. If anything, she would just claim that she had never seen him before.
Days went by quickly. The weather was getting worse. Wind and rain started picking up while temperature kept dropping. Golden and brown fallen leaves started to lay carpets over the grounds. Everyone had an established role in the clan and was now used to their new life. Everyone, except for Amber. The ex-kittypet was still frightened out of her mind, refused to go alone out into the woods and collected all herbs only growing near the carts of the old train that she lived in. If she spotted some interesting greenery in the distance she would ask one of the other cats to bring it to her. She was also scared of blood and wounds so it made her into quite a terrible sylph. Yet, she was the only one they had so when Northstar got scratched during a patrol she turned to her. The interaction didn’t go without many insults from North aimed at Amber and Jinx having to apply the medicine to North’s forehead, but they managed. Somehow.
Jinx also used to be a kittypet, but she found herself as a warrior much better than a lap pet. During one of their early morning patrols they encountered her sister. She was overjoyed about the reunion and told Jinx that she’d been looking for her since she disappeared and could now take her back home. But Jinx refused. She didn’t want to return to her old life. She had a new one here and she was happy about it. Zoe didn’t take well to it. She left her home and spent weeks worrying and searching through forests trying to find her little sister and now when she finally did, when they were supposed to have a happy family reunion and return home together, her sister refused to listen. They ended up shouting at each other and Zoe left, but not for long. She returned and decided to stay until she can make sure that her sister is safe and can take care of herself. At least, that’s what she told Jinx. In reality, she would keep trying to sway her to change her mind and return to being a kittypet. Life in a safe house was much better than out here, surrounded by wilderness and dangers. Perhaps when the first snows fall and Jinx will feel the cold and the hunger that winter brings, she will finally realise what a mistake she’s made and Zoe will reach her goal and ultimately, Jinx will stay under her wing and be safe and won’t have to struggle as a wild cat as Zoe had to, a long time ago.
