Round 4 Kill wrote:Lopunny had taken no part in the 'activities' so far. Perhaps it was the loss of her good friend, Audino... Actually, it definitely was, and everybody else knew it. Some had tried to comfort her, be there for her and ease her through it, but she seemed to have shut off after the first attack.
It was no surprise, then, that she was next to be picked off.
"She was an easy target." Blastoise reasoned in the town square, the next morning. "The werepokemon must think they've already picked off anyone who is a threat. We cannot afford any more mistakes. This is honestly our last shot, before we get very, very desperate."
Round 4 Execution wrote:She knew it was her time. She protested, but she still knew. Despite Umbreon's outrage, despite her protestation and her pleas of innocence, she was fully aware that this would not be avoided.
She had been one of the longest survivors, and one of the most determined to find this werepokemon from the very beginning. She had tried her hardest to apply logic to every decision she made, to find reason or pattern in the killings, and the judge the Pokemon she once considered her friends, perhaps even her family, as fairly as she could. But it was no use now. She had been voted for, two to one, and that small a difference would now be her death.
Murkrow, Hydreigon, Charmander, and Shinx all patiently waited for Blastoise to return. When he did, he was as solemn looking as ever. Everyone's respective hearts were racing, though they all knew the answer already. The answer wasn't whether or not Umbreon was the werepokemon, it was whether or not the village would ever recover from this blight. And they knew, when they looked at his tired face, that it would not.
"It wasn't Umbreon." He said quietly. "But there is nothing now that we can do. One of you is the werepokemon, but the other three are innocent. Tonight, another innocent will die, no doubt, and then that leaves only two. A false accusation leaves one killer and one innocent left behind, and that will be the end." Everyone stood in silence as Blastoise paused. "Shinx has been unresponsive after the death of her mother, Luxray. We can't count her as an active party. We've lost, my friends."
Nevertheless, that night was a quiet one, at least in the beginning. Of the remaining four, one had been a clever killer of the highest calibre, picking off his so-called 'friends' one by one, until all that was left was a few guilt-ridden survivors, and no chance of fairness taking the killer out. But the night was not yet over. The werepokemon would yet strike again.
