”You must be so bored here!” Kamu grumbled as he batted playfully at his sister’s nose, trying to encourage her to venture outside to rejoin their siblings. For the past moon, Kuta had been confined to the mending vulpe’s den whilst her leg healed. Mouku had managed to find the necessary herbs, and prised away Aruhe’s ‘cool stick’ (much to the scout’s chagrin), to set the kit’s leg. The vulpe was confident Kuta would heal nicely; even if she were to have a limp, it should not prevent her from training as a scout once she was old enough.
”It’s not so bad,” Kuta murmured with a small laugh as she tugged her ear away from her brother’s excited nibbling, using her front paws to push the smaller kit out of her nest.
”But it’s so dark, and empty, and Mouku is so…” Kamu pulled a face to indicate his displeasure at Mouku’s attitude, causing Kuta to giggle. It was true that Mouku’s company had been anything but warm during her stay as his patient. He asked her how she was feeling, brought her water when she was thirsty and replaced the poultice on her leg, but otherwise the young vixen was ignored. The mending vulpe would barely look at her, and pretended not to hear her questions about the various herbs she had spotted in his store. Eventually, Kuta had given up asking. The highlight of her day was definitely when her siblings came to visit her.
Kuta shrugged her small shoulders, picking moss from her brother’s grey pelt. ”I made a game from the herbs in the medicine store. I can name every one now,” she beamed proudly, fluffing out her chest. Kamu, though, seemed disinterested in her achievement. Herbs didn’t interest him, he just wanted to wrestle.
”Be careful with your sister, Kamu,” Niko scolded lightly as he emerged in the entrance of the cave, frowning at the site of the small tod clambering over Kuta’s back. Reluctantly, Kamu rolled back to the ground, scowling as Kuta stuck her tongue out at him Excited laughs followed the second in command as Kaho, Peoi and Tairo raced in after him, scrambling between his legs as they fought to be the first to reach Kuta’s nest.
”I win!” Kaho barked, his tail wagging as he touched his nose to the moss, only to be bowled over by Tairo in protest.
Niko chuckled, shaking his head as he was largely ignored by the litter. ”Your mother’s gone to visit the stars, remain here until she returns,” he instructed, his words falling on deaf ears. He thought he heard a grunted ‘yes dad’ amidst the playing that made his heart wrench, but otherwise he may as well have been a shadow against the wall for all the interest they were paying him.
”You better come get them soon,” Mouku muttered as Niko brushed passed, crouched hesitantly outside his den as he kept a distant eye on Kanuka’s kits. He didn’t know why he had to play babysitter.
”It wouldn’t hurt you to be nice to them, you know,” Niko snapped, bristling as he stalked away to gather Toutou for a border patrol. Mouku watched him leave with an empty expression, ears twitching as he listened to the kit-ish laughter echoing within his cave, because it did hurt. It really did.

Apple nearly laughed. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I had a dream about you. I'm supposed to follow you." He took a slow step towards her, not wanting to frighten her or scare her away. "I'd like to join your skulk, if you'll accept me."

Apple pondered this for a moment. That had to be a sign... the stars had really listened! They'd sent this fox to be her second in command! Apple nodded her head. "Alright. You may come along with me." With a smile, she added, "Welcome to the Skulk of Waterlilies!"

After leading her new friend through their new home, Apple and her second, called Minnow, decided to split up. The rumbling in their bellies was enough to motivate Minnow to go out hunting, and Apple decided to head North in search of other foxes.

When choosing a scout, they will be required to do the above, plus an additional ritual whereby they challenge the leader, or else, if is being mentored, challenge the mentor. If they manage to pin the leader/mentor down, they will be deemed fit to continue to serve the skulk.

Punishments:
If a fox does what the leader deems as wrong, they will be given a warning, however if misfits continues, the leader will punish the fox by branding through a scratch on the hind. If repeated, exiled from the skulk.

the skulk of Roaring Storms is a skulk that is closely-knit, even the most measly of foxes are credited by the skulk. They are hardworking and incredibly determined, once focused on something they will work hard to reach their goal. They do not like being questioned of their skill or any threats coming there way, usually lashing out at those who do such things. Many don't know how close and loyal these foxes are because of their often rougher exterior. They are known for their hardiness and defensive skills.

This skulk lives in the high, alpine areas where the more harsh weather beats down on them and more apex predators live. They must watch out for bears and mountain lions, though it is very rare that they will see any humans. Their camp is a assortment of small caves that have been shaped over the years by the weather. Most of the territory is rocky forests, though their are some more flatter regions where a few streams are. One of the streams is were they call upon their ancestors, because it glows in the dark at night because of the many glow bugs that reside near it.

The foxes in the skulk are typically of more diverse and unique colours, often marble, plantinum, silver, cross and many morphs in between. They pride themselves on these colours, and it's often frowned upon if their coat isn't like that for multiple reasons. It is often necessary for them to have such colours, as it is often easier to blend into their surroundings, hide from predators and go unnoticed by there own prey.

SKULK OF WATERLILLIES

Apple and Minnow were just approaching the pond after adding to the fresh-kill pile, when they saw another fox emerging from the water, shaking droplets from his fur.

Minnow bristled immediately, but Apple quickly gave him a stern look and shook her head. She approached the new fox warily, though he didn't seem to be much a threat. He was malnourished, thin, and looked awfully bewildered.

"Hello," Apple greeted the newcomer. "Can we help you?"

"Uh..." The newcomer looked around. "I'm not entirely sure where I am..."

Apple nodded. "This is the Skulk of Waterlilies. I'm Apple, and this," she nodded to her second, still standing some ways behind, "is Minnow, my second."

"I'm Garnet," the fox introduced himself. "I'm sorry to have stumbled in uninvited..."

"It's okay," Apple decided quickly. "You're disoriented, I can tell. You're welcome to stay here--"

"Apple," Minnow said, his tone warning. "I don't think--"

"I'm in charge," Apple reminded her second. "And Garnet, you're welcome to stay here for as long as you'd like. Welcome to the Waterlilies. But if you stay here, you need to pull your weight. Minnow and I are going to patrol the border towards the pond. Do you think you could stay here and guard the den?"

Garnet nodded, finding a soft place to lay down and resting his head on his paws. "I'll keep an eye on things here. I won't let you down."

Apple chuckled as she and Minnow set off. "I'm sure you'll do a great job."

callisto looked out into the deep forests surrounding her, though turned her pointed muzzle back in the direction of the scared stream before her. she lowered her head, dipping it respectfully to her ancestors. she had called upon them this day to ask for her second, some-fox who could help her skulk rise above them all. "dear ancestors. I thank you for gifting me the strength to lead my skulk, though I need my second in command to guide me in the right direction when needed. for that reason, I request a second." She lifted her head, giving her pelt a quick shake and signalling the end of her meeting with her great ancestors.

snow observed the new addition to her skulk as he inspected his new home. echo was a rather small fox with a nick in his right ear and with a small scar along his left eye, therefore making him almost blind. the tod was however not bothered by this and could walk without bumping into things just fine. echo suddenly turned to face his new leader, making her take a step back. i know i'm not exactly the best addition to the skulk, but thanks for letting me join. snow nodded, letting silence settle between them once more. once you're done, you'll go hunting for food, the vixen dropped before going patrolling.

SKULK OF WATERLILLIES

"Maybe we shouldn't've left Garnet all by himself." Apple reluctantly observed as she made her way back to camp with Minnow. "It's probably not safe for him. He didn't seem well at all, I wonder if he hit his head?"

Minnow kept his eyes on the ground, seeming to be deep in thought. "I guess that seems likely enough, but I'm more worried about leaving him alone in our camp. Maybe he's not as innocent as he pretends to be--" His voice stopped abruptly as they both entered the den to see Garnet accompanied by another fox.

"Chew on this," the other fox was saying, "It should reduce the swelling, which will help with the headache. You'll be back to normal in no time, but be more careful from now on. That was quite a fall."

"Apple," Minnow warned as the leader stepped forward.

"Hello," Apple called, her voice uncharacteristically commanding. "Can we help you?"

"Yes!" Garnet leapt to his feet and nudged the fox beside him. "Ash, this is Apple and Minnow. Apple, Minnow, meet Ash."

Minnow and Apple exchanged an apprehensive glance.

Garnet continued, "Ash and I were with the twolegs together. They dropped us both here a few moons ago, and we hadn't seen each other since... until now."

Ash stepped forward then, poised and regal in nature. "I'm a talented mending vulpe." She revealed. "I was just assisting Garnet with that nasty bump to the head when you returned from your patrol. I believe I could be of some assistance to your new skulk."

Apple nodded. "I believe you're right. Ash, welcome to the waterlilies."

Minnow groaned, "Not again..."

Apple laughed. "Alright, no more sitting around. The day's still young, and there's work to be done. Minnow," she turned to her second, "I think you and Garnet need to spend some time together to get to know each other better. Why don't the two of you go hunting? I'll go explore that northern path we saw earlier, and Ash can search for herbs. That way we'll have a sizable stockpile in the event that anyone else gets hurt."

Minnow chirped his approval. "I'll show Garnet the way. Let's try to all be back before sundown."

Ash agreed, "Yes, let's."

As small,curious ears flipped from side to side,Feroz heard a noise.He heard a sneeze on his grounds as he growled in warning ''who's there?'' the deep,stubborn voice grumbled ''aha,it's gordon.'' the friendly and fluffy fox gingerly skipped out the bushes.Mysti suddenly smiled,seeming already attached to this dog when the vixen met his eyes,Feroz growled ''and what are you doing here may I ask?'' ''i've wanted to join your skulk i'm a mending vulpe,you see.'' Gordon offered with a suspicious smile as Mysti nudged Feroz with a smile.

the light coloured vixen sat beside the flowing stream, her head lifted once she had finished asking her ancestors for a second. her tail brushed over the grass and then curled around her paws, ears perked for even the slightest sound. callisto hoped that her dear ancestors had responded to her, she did feel as though a lovely second would help her creating her skulk.

she turned her head around as the sound of leaves rustling caught her ears, delighted to see a light red and white splashed vixen appeared from the brush. the fiery Amber eyes of the female confirmed what callisto thought; she was her second. "Greetings, my new second. I am Callisto, your leader." She addressed herself, chest strutted out just slightly in pride.

"I am atalanta. my ancestors have called me upon your skulk, and it have met your requested needs." The vixen spoke very properly, not showing much emotion yet. Callisto didn't mind, lifting herself to her haunches and beckoning the second forwards.
