Bitter winds whip around the cats. Prey is starting to take shelter, and the hunting results reflect it. Cats are more likely to join to ensure themselves food and shelter. Queens will have some difficulties during birth.

Valleyglow snuck into Fireclan camp with her kits in her mouth. It was cold outside, but at least they were staying quiet. She rushed into the nursery where she saw Shadowstride laying as the only awake queen. She padded over to her quickly. "Shadowstride...?" she called. The queen looked up and locked her eyes on the kits Valleyglow set down. "Valleyglow... what are these?" Shadowstride asked as the two began mewling for warmth. They were lucky there were so many kits in the nursery right now. "These are... my kits. And I need you to watch over them. Please." Valleyglow said with pleading eyes. Shadowstride looked at them, then back to their mother. "I'll do anything for you... you helped me in the past."
"Thank you so much. Also... can we keep this between us...?"
"Of course."
"Thank you so much. You have no idea how grateful I am..." Valleyglow said before hurrying out of the den. She snuck into the medicine cat's den and into her nest without being caught successfully. She couldn't get to sleep though.

Crowcloud meowed gently to Felicia, worry etched onto his face, "How are you feeling?" The elderly she-cat chuckled weakly and rasped, "I've had better days, Crowcloud, but I suppose I'll manage." The mostly-white elder had a faraway look in her eyes as she added, "I've lived a full life now-" "Stop saying that!" Crowcloud exclaimed; the black tom's intensity even made him startled for a moment. The black tom recovered quickly and took out some catmint from his herb storage. "It's not much," Crowcloud began, "but here, catmint for your coughs. Please eat all of it," he begged, looking Felicia straight in the eye, "and stop saying things like you are going to die." The she-cat snorted, but lapped the aromatic herbs up without complaint at the black medicine cat's glare. "Make sure you get some rest," Crowcloud murmured softly, before he excused himself. Mousepaw, his blind, but brave apprentice, was waiting for him to train that day; the black tom had promised for days to train him, but given the circumstances, neither of them had any time until now.

Needless to say, both mentor and apprentice could not focus on their training later that day, Felicia's health being the biggest worry for the two.

[ Unfortunately, Mousepaw did not learn any skills this moon. Perhaps next moon, if Felicia gets any better. ]

It was a cold, miserably wet day, with rain dampening any cat's spirits. It was no excuse for Raggedstar either. The ginger-pelted leader of EchoClan was dashing through the wet weather to his den from the fresh-kill pile when he noticed them. Wide-eyed, Raggedstar stared as he made out the seal point pelt of his loyal deputy, Gorsebird, and the distinctive coat of Sunnyflower. There were four tiny faces he did not recall, but nonetheless, the ginger tom felt elated at seeing his lost Clanmates returned to the Clan. He cried joyfully, "Gorsebird! Sunnyflower!"

This got the camp buzzing with life. Cries of surprise and shock at the news soon turned into cries of welcome, and in some cases, sobs of relief. EchoClan burst into life as every cat who had heard the news came rushing to greet their returning Clanmates with happiness and relief. The two she-cats seemed overwhelmed at the sudden attention they were receiving, and they were only too relieved when the cats respectfully made way for Applefur, Rabbitwish, and the rest of Sunnyflower's family. Gorsebird took the time to excuse herself and the kits; Raggedstar wanted to speak to his deputy, of course, but he decided to wait. The beautiful seal point she-cat clearly had other things to attend to, and that was to get the kits out of the rain and dried.

Raggedstar would wait. Reunion and getting used to Clan life would come first.

[ All of EchoClan welcome the return of their deputy and warrior with warm and open paws. They accept the three adopted kittens as well, after listening to the two she-cat's stories. ]

Soon after the Clan's celebration of the returning cats, Sunnyflower quietly supervised Bumblepaw's warrior assessment. The ginger she-cat nodded appreciatively as gray-furred apprentice came back to her, panting but eyes wide as she stared at her mentor expectantly. Sunnyflower chuckled and nodded firmly, purring, "Excellent work, Bumblepaw! That was flawless, I can tell!" Bumblepaw whooped with delight at the news - after all, this would mean she could become a warrior! - and meowed brightly, "Can I go tell Raggedstar myself? Please? Please?" Chuckling at her apprentice's enthusiastic behavior, the ginger warrior replied, "Of course, let's get back to camp."

[ Congratulations! Bumblepaw has passed her final assessment and has become a warrior - Bumbleflower! ]

Petalbound signaled for her patrol to stop for a moment with her tail. Blazefur asked, head cocked to the side questioningly, "Something wrong?" The silver tabby she-cat shook her head and meowed, a small smile on her lips, "Nah, thought we'd take a small break here. We haven't seen anything threatening or needing help yet, and we're almost at the home stretch." Wildpoppy took the time to stretch her limbs, remarking dryly, "This weather is a killer." "I'll say," Blazefur agreed, shivering in the chilly air, "looks like rain." Petalbound sighed, "We'll just take a few moments to stretch our limbs, and then let's get back to camp before that rain starts falling." "Agreed," Rowanstrike replied, echoed by the rest of his patrolmates.

[ Petalbound's patrol passes uneventfully. ]

Hurricanejaw called urgently, "Frecklewish! Frecklewish!" The tortoiseshell she-cat turned to face the black-and-white tom and asked, blinking, "What's up?" The EchoClan warrior indicated toward a bush and cried urgently, "It's a lone she-cat, and I think she's dying, and... kits!" he exclaimed with emphasis. The tortoiseshell she-cat needed no second bidding. She called toward her patrolmates and alerted them to the situation, and soon, all six of the EchoClan border patrol were staring at the barely moving form of a brown-and-white tabby she-cat. Three kits were mewling pitifully next to her. "Oh no," Mossycreek whispered, horror on her face, "the mother's dying..." At the mention of her, the dying she-cat lifted her head weakly and stared at the six cats, fear and dread in her clouded eyes. The she-cat's paws were pawing feebly at her kits, to try to pull them closely to her, in vain. "Shhhhh," Frecklewish murmured, assuring the dying mother, "conserve your strength, ma'am." The dying she-cat murmured, her meow barely above a whisper, "Their... father... a rogue... they're old enough... eat prey..." She didn't have the strength to go on, and soon, her head lolled to the side. Gently, Pigeonnose closed the dead she-cat's eyes for her as Wickerfur whispered, "May StarClan guide your path" after her.

A few moments before a chilly wind caused everyone in the patrol to fluff up. Bramblingflight meowed suddenly, "We can't leave these kits behind, they'll surely die!" "Let's get them to camp!" Hurricanejaw declared; at their mention, one of the three kits, a brown-and-white tabby tom-kit, asked fearfully, "What are you going to do to us?" "Nothing," Frecklewish promised softly, "nothing bad at least. We can take you to a safe place, so you can grow up and be strong like your mother wanted you to be." Glancing at the rest of her patrol, the tortoiseshell she-cat meowed calmly, "Let's get back to camp as soon as we can."

[ Frecklewish's patrol comes across a dying mother and her three kittens. The mother, unfortunately, passes away, but the EchoClan cats manage to convince the kits to come to EchoClan. Raggedstar may choose to accept them to EchoClan, or not. (notes: they are old enough to eat solid food, if it helps, and one of them is a tom, the rest can be decided!) ]

Icefang crouched, his gaze focused intently on the squirrel in front of him. Granted, he was hidden from view by the tall grass, and he was staying upwind from the prey-creature. The small creature was busy munching at a nut it had found, unaware that it was going to give its life so that EchoClan could eat. Icefang crept closer, as close to the squirrel as he dared, and then pounced. The squirrel let out a startled squeak, but before it could cry out to warn its brethren, the silver torbie tom quickly snuffed its life with a bite to the throat. Quietly thanking StarClan for the catch, the EchoClan warrior buried the fresh-kill and noted where he'd done so, reminding himself to come back for it later.

[ Icefang's hunting patrol successfully caught Mouse x2 and Squirrel x1. ]

Haybriar crouched at the edge of the water, staring at the frigid water, trying to see if a fish came nearby for her to grab. Small fish that hardly looked like a morsel of food swam by, unfazed by her presence, and the cream tabby she-cat was about to give up. 'I have better things to do than sit here in this weather,' she sniffed as she thought to herself. She was about ready to give up and hunt elsewhere when a sleek, gray shape of a fish she recognized -trout!- came into view. Quickly, Haybriar let out a wild cry and slapped at the water with both her forepaws, grabbing at the slippery fish with claws unsheathed. Yelling wildly again, the EchoClan warrior made a scoop with her paws and threw the flopping trout onto the ground, managing to pin its tail with both paws in time. Quickly thanking StarClan in one breath, the cream tabby she-cat killed the fish with a bite, and happily carried it toward the hunting patrol's meeting place. 'I bet they'll love to hear what I caught!' she thought excitedly.

• After Autumnstorm hauling a wounded Eleanor from Locuststar’s den,
Marshflame quickly assesses the injuries and determines that Eleanor will
require one moon of rest and x1 cobweb to prevent infection and further
damage.

• Consumed by the recent clan conflict, Marshflame has a difficult time
finding any herbs and returns to the Charclan camp empty-pawed, ho—
wever, as the medicine cat nears the camp quarters he finds x1 thyme

• Allured by the crimson king of quickclan, Flowerskip is now pregnant
with Redstar's progeny. She will be due in two moons/posts.

• The harsh colours of leaf-fall have certainly showed as the hunting
part consisting of forsythiashine, pepperstrike, and elkrose return to
camp with only x1 minnow.

• Vervainthroat and his company have a particularly uneventful
patrol, with only the hushed chatter of the recent chaos in camp to
fuel them forwards… until crossing paths with a former clan cat,
burntmask of basinclan. what will they do? chase this feline away, or invite
him to stay?

A crisp breeze blows across the land, the warmth of Greenleaf disappearing. Prey is starting to hide and prepare for Leaf-bare, and cats are beginning to do the same. ↠ Frostfoot and Shadowstar encounter a very cold and scared former kittypet, who tells of harsh Twolegs who abandoned them about a moon ago. It explains that it's been hunting, though not very well, and was looking for a place to stay. Intrigued by the scent of what seemed to be many cats in one area, the cat came by to investigate. Will Frostfoot and Shadowstar send it away, to try and stumble alone back into the forest to fend for itself, or will they lead it back to the Clan?

↠ While hunting, Gorsepaw did well and sent a distracted toad right into Reedface's outstretched claws. Nearby, the soft sounds of bird wings meant a small bird narrowly escaped the claws of Blizzardear - alerted by the sound of the toad being caught. Fortunately, Windheart and Mudpatch tracked the bird and the patrol successfully took it down. Add 1x toad and 1x small bird to your prey stock.

↠ Elated still by the quick thinking of catching the toad, Gorsepaw was too distracted to pay attention to Reedface's instruction on safe climbing. He scaled a tree easily, but forgot about the part where he was supposed to safely get down. He blanched, having to ask his mentor for help, apologizing for not paying attention to the instructions. He failed this moon, but he can try again next moon.

My clan uses 9 servings

all apprentices train, gingerpaw redoes her assessment. sootpaw becomes an apprentice and will be trained by snowdusk. he trains also.
duskwing and quickflash decide to allow mudear to use the tansy and honey. however there's not enough herbs for them all.
gingerpaw and stormwhisker look for herbs.
quickflash and duskwing use 1x honey each.
frostwing, buzzpaw, otterfang, lilypetal and midnightwish do 1 hunting patrol, quickflash, rossclaw, twopaw, graywing, gaia and kai do another hunting patrol.
goosefeather & lilypetal, breeze & eicko, frostwing & featherflash try for kits.

after a slight bicker with his ancestors, they send charcoalclan the
third triad leader. she seems to be a little uptight.
heatstar finishs his border patrol, disappointed as he didn't find anything
interesting. however, as he heads back towards the camp, he encounters a
possible apprentice freezing outside of the entrance. though heatstar
didn't want to possibly show any weakness to his clanmates, especially
yarrowscar, he brings the little cat in, and gives it to smokeyfoot so she
could warm it up.
though it wasn't the ideal amount of prey, the hunting patrol feels rather
proud of themselves as they have brought in a paca and a sloth. heatstar
compliments smokeyfoot's mentorship of mossypaw, as the young molly's
hunter's crouch was close to perfect.
it was a little hard for yarrowscar to collect herbs due to the frost and
leaves covering them, but he managed to save one burdoc root and one
poppy, which he can use for its seeds.
smokeyfoot successfully teaches mossypaw tree hunting, the pupil easily
scaling the trees of charcoalclan's territory and learning how to hunt
the creatures that live in them.
heatstar begins to develop a cough. perhaps it's because he went for
two patrols this moon? try sending him on less patrols, and he won't be sick
and have to deal with yarrowscar!

leaf-fall
as the clans enter leaf-fall, their prey starts tox
hide away, going back to their dens and only com
ing out in the early morning, making it less likely
to catch a lot of prey, so it's a good decision to
start sending out more hunting patrols. as the
cold settles in, herbs start becoming more sparse
especially kitting herbs. kittings will be harder
and the chance that the mother or kittens may
die, so stock up on fennel, chervil, ragwort
and raspberry leaves. the lack of prey doesnt
only affect the clans though, and the chance of
encountering predators rises.
