mentions that she’s been hearing rumors among the other warriors that Badgermask
has evil intentions and Badgermask tells her not to worry about it and that they

Icestar asks Fawnstep if they could spare the mint that they had just gathered today for a potential set of paws to help around camp. Fawnstep says no, but agrees to give the leader the older mint. Icestar does not really care if it is new or old, he just would like mint for this cat. Fawnstep hands over the herb and Icestar delivers it to the cat.

Icestar lets the clan rest for a few days but wont allow for the cats to slack off a whole moon. Seeing how the prey pile is just too small he makes patrols of just hunting, praying to Starclan to keep the predators away for a moon.

bulrushclan’s territory is comprised mainly of a wetland marsh that remains filled most of the year. here, cats can navigate the interspersed islands by swimming or navigating the abandoned boardwalks that span this section of the territory. the northern reaches of their territory are raised up on hills and sparsely forested, and the bulrushclan camp is situated on one of these hills to prevent it from flooding with the newleaf thaw, though it is still somewhat at risk.

two main rivers run into the wetland. the larger of the two is turtle river, which is a good source of fish for the clan. for most of the year it is rather slow-moving, but its width still makes it formidable to cross for less experienced swimmers, while during the thaw it becomes dangerous even for the most skilled warriors. the smaller is tadpole stream, which runs just to the east of the bulrushclan camp and allows for a convenient source of drinking water for the clan. despite being smaller, its proximity to the camp means that if it floods, it can be even more dangerous than the turtle river. there is also gosling pond, which is a small pond near the bulrushclan camp where young cats are taught how to swim. mothers will bring their kits down to the pond to get them acclimatized to the water, and it is generally a place for cats to relax and have some leisure time.

other notable landmarks include the twoleg’s shed, training island, and the mother tree. the twoleg’s shed is an old shed on the cusp of the wetlands left behind by the twolegs that built the boardwalks. it has no particular use to the cats, but stories are often told of it creaking and groaning in the night, and cats are advised to stay away from it. training island is a island in the center of the wetlands where mentors train their apprentices to fight and fish. the mother tree is a old, large oak in the bulrushclan camp where cats socialize and meetings are held. it is allegedly the first tree to grow in the territories. it is customary for the leader, mothers, and medicine cats of the clan to get spots of honor closest to the tree, with the other members of the clan spreading out and sitting in its shade.

bulrushclan believes in starclan, and leaders and medicine cats visit their ancestors at the moonpond, a perfectly circular pond that always seems to reflect the moon just right. their version of the dark forest is modified slightly, and they regard it as the dark depths. according to legend, cats who have done bad things spend their afterlife in a damp, dark place under the wetlands where water always seems to drip down from above. it’s considered bad luck to sleep next to a still body of water, because it may allow a spirit from the dark depths to invade your dreams or even reach you and drag you in.

the warriors of this clan are strong swimmers and adept fishers, and much of their lifestyle revolves around the ponds and marshes they call home. they are still trained for hunting on land, but it is not particularly their speciality. cats of bulrushclan are usually brown or grey, and have sleek pelts and strong legs for swimming. adaptable and compassionate warriors are respected among this clan, and as a whole, the clan is pretty non-confrontational, and shies away from interacting with other clans too much.

prey commonly caught by bulrushclan cats include voles, frogs, ground squirrels, small and large fish, and waterfowl. predators for the region include owls, bobcats, and foxes. twolegs also occasionally roam the region, and can present a danger to the cats.
