The flowers are in full bloom now and the mud has almost dried up into a damp soil that is cool for the paws of cats. Everything is plentiful now and life seems to be going smoothly for the clans during this time of Newleaf.

Goldfoil's request had been heard and an Earthbreaker has been sent. You can choose five herbs from here to start.
Salix, Feadan, Mirinae and Lacuna find a pregnant queen while on patrol, she is due in 2 moons/posts.
Arete and Komorebi's patrol went uneventful.

(You can only have 6 different kinds of prey at the moment.)
(Are all those kitties from readopts? If so the max number allowed between mod posts is 5 cats. This is for next time though, if you need clarity on this please PM me.)
(Also, just if you are unaware, there are two different types of patrol, hunting and regular patrols. If one is hunting please specify, otherwise they are just patrolling the borders.)

The patrol spotted the frantic molly before she spotted them, when her eyes laid on the patrol she started to trot towards them. None of them seemed worried enough about her approaching because they had more numbers on her, not to mention the look of worry was heavy in her eyes. When she go closer, Tantoclaw stepped forward to make it clear that he was incharge, “Hello, is everything alright?” The leader asked calmly.

The queen shook her head, “No! My babies! My poor little kits! They- I showed them how to jump out of the hollow I use to tuck them in and, and now they are gone! I lost their scent when it got to muddy, please! You have to help me look for them!” Her eyes pleaded as she looked at all the toms. Brightshade and Coconutheart looked away from her but kept their ears perked to hear the conversation.

Tantoclaw didn’t nod or shake his head, instead he asked for the molly’s name and she told him it was Dawn. “Dawn, my name is Tantoclaw and though we are new to the area we are claiming this territory as our own. So we have spent the last few moons patrolling and making that clear, but I am being kind enough to extend a paw to those that lived here for us. If you want our help then you will have to join us. I don’t want to send cats out to help strangers, especially mothers that are in charge of their young.”

Dawn looked hesitant, “I-I don’t know what to do, I need the help. My kits just turned 3 moons not to long ago and I worry.” A moment of though and silence before she set aside her worry and asked, “What is a clan? What is my role in this?”

Tantoclaw smiled ever so slightly and explained what a clan was to Dawn, he then explained the strange traditions and he could see that Dawn blushed a tad when she heard how kits are supposed to be raised. Things stayed silent when Tantoclaw finished, the patrol of toms were pairing off in twos already, waiting for Tantoclaw’s signal. The leader waited for the queen’s decision on joining and her promise to return when it was time.

Owlseed returned to her little burrow with a few herbs that she had gathered. She had no need to gather them, it was just out of habit and it kept her moving and busy. It has been about a moon now since she last slept, the fear of loneliness slowly ate at her brain and eventually started to give her nightmares. So the molly decided to not sleep and kept herself busy during the day, hunting for herself and gathering herbs that she found not to far from her little burrow. Her burrow was an abandoned badger den and it was quite spacious and at first a tad dirty, but while all the cleaning she has been doing no cat could hardly tell it was a mess.

The molly laid down when she stashed her herbs further into the burrow, she could feel her eyelids grow heavy and she shook her head and stood up. The movement made her slightly dizzy but there was no way she was going to fall asleep today. Owlseed shook her head again and trotted out of the burrow in search of more herbs further into the mountains. The medicine cat found a patch of mint and went to pick some, instead the smell sent her back to her memories and the comfort she found in the strong scented herb. She closed her eyes and felt herself drifting to sleep. “No!” She shouted and shot up, the move made her dizzy but she turned and ran anyways. Owlseed didn’t watch her step and slipped in a small puddle of mudd, she lost her balance and fell. Due to the momentum of her running she was not able to stop herself and her dizziness did not help her think when the large rock appeared in front of her. Owlseed slammed into the rock and laid there in front of it, dazed and tired she closed her eyes and let the darkness take her as she fell asleep in the open.

Applebee was busy explaining and showing Shama a few basics to hunting while Vixenspirit and Jackalfang sat in the shade and talked quietly.

“Do you like this new territory of ours?” Vixenspirit asked Jackalfang.

The molly shrugged, “I have lived in worse and harsher places to be honest. The clan I was previously in, we were given assigned mates and were told to have kits so the clan could grow fast. I am glad that Briarclan doesn’t push that on me but I know we could use the numbers.”

Vixenspirit shook her head, “Let’s not worry about that yet, we have gone through to much and if this place doesn’t work out then now is not the time for kits…” she trailed off. Though she herself wanted little kits of her own. “What I meant was how do you like the new changes and the hunting we have to do?”

Jackalfang shrugged, “I find it strange we won’t, no,” The molly shook her head, “We can’t teach Shama how to protect herself. What if the toms fail us and get through them? How are we supposed to protect ourselves? There’s only so much that hunting can do, you know?”

Vixenspirit nodded, “It’s strange but Tantoclaw said this is how he grew up and that it worked. Though sometimes I wonder what happened to his old clan if it worked so well.”

Jackalfang nodded, “We could always ask him? He seems pretty open and friendly towards us anyways and it gives us a chance to learn our leader a little more…” The molly trailed off.

Applebee and Shama joined the two now, Shama was panting with exhaustion. Applebee told the others, “I worked her hard and she seems to have picked up a few basics, though I don’t think she is ready to join in a hunt just yet…” The mentor meowed.

Vixenspirit nodded, “She could watch our next hunt, maybe she can pick up a few more of the basics?”

Applebee was hesitant at first, she wanted Shama to get some rest but it wasn’t like she was going to do any hunting herself. A nod seemed to have worked because Shama was jumping around with joy, “I’ma go on a hunt! I’ma go on a hunt!” The others watched her with smiles, they remember when it was their first time hunting and how excited they were.

It was Vixenspirit who spoke up through the joy, “First, you need to rest. So go back to camp and sit in the shade for a while, we are going to scout for a good place so you can see our hunting skills better. When we find a suitable place we will come and get you okay?” Shama nodded and ran off before any others could say anything. When the apprentice was out of sight they trio got up and scouted areas close to camp, settling on the forest.

[Border Patrol] Tanto and the others agree to help Dawn find her kits, but Tanto explains that she must promise to become part of the clan and follow the tradition or they won't help her. If she agrees the 6 cats split off in groups of two to go and search for them, if not then they ask her to leave and they patrol the area.(Any cats found in the next post will be offered a place in Briarclan for now)

weather: new-leaf.
during newleaf, kittings will run much smoother and the chances of the queens or kits dying during birth will go down dramatically. there is also a higher chance that you catch more prey than usual. in addition, the chances of catching greencough, whitecough, and kittencough will go down. with all the snow melting, it is very likely that your territory will start flooding. there will also be more storms that will contribute to the flooding. the odds of finding new cats is very high.

two moons ago

the spider scuttled across the dirt at the edge of the grass. she had absolutely no way of seeing what colour it was, but she knew, nonetheless, that it was brown and white. it was with that knowledge, she lowered her head to murmur to the squirming, mewling kits, still wet, blind and deaf from birth, that searched fruitlessly against her belly for milk, that their mother was on her way. "soon."
the spider continued on it's journey to somewhere. unperturbed and unaware of her and the kittens even as her ears flickered intently as she tracked it's movements. yes. it wouldn't be too long at all, now. the tortoiseshell kit, the bigger, stronger kit of the pair who was in possession impressive set of strong lungs, let out another indignant wail as they pushed their muzzle against her foreleg in search for the promise of nourishment. she had no milk to offer - kits of one's own are a path which does not cross with the path of a seer - but she could, at least, do her best to offer what comfort she could.
she hummed as she licked the kitten's heads in turn, careful to pay as much attention to the bicolour as the tortoiseshell.
overhead, the clouds rumbled with the loudest clap of thunder she'd heard yet in the storm. was, in fact, the second loudest clap of thunder she had yet to hear in her entire life and the sheer ferociousness of it made her lift her head away from the kits to look, sightless, up towards the clouds before she nodded. 'breath in,' she thought as she braced herself. 'and out.'

the mother of the kits burst through the long grass with a yowl that made it abundantly clear where the tortoiseshell had inherited their lungs from. patch froze with her paws on the spot the spider had been some minutes before, head lowered, ears flat against her skull and her lips pulled back in an ugly snarl of maternal rage and fear. sides still heaving from running, she let out a terrible guttural sound. a warning.
"your den was about to flood," the cat who had taken her kits said. her eyes, mostly pupil but for the tiniest sliver of yellow on the fringes, missed her own face, an inch or two too high. at the stranger's stomach her kits squealed, hungry. the sound made the stranger twitch, like she wanted to move to comfort them but knew it would an unwise move. "you can ask the patrol you're following with to check."
"how do you know that?" patch spat, hackles rising. there was something off about this cat.
"our ancestors," the cat said simply, like that made a lick of sense, before she turned her head to the left with an intrigued flick of the corresponding ear. "mallowclan's leader," she purred softly, dipping her head. "it is an honour."
mudstar, for what it was worth, seemed just as miffed as patch was as she made her way out of the long grass to stand alongside her, though she was quick to smooth over the bemusement on her face. "hello. i don't believe we've met?"
"not before now, no," the cat concurred. "my name is darkpool. the cats of the stars have sent me to you as your second seer."
any lingering traces of confusion evaporated off the chocolate molly as patch's continued to rise. what did this darkpool bloody mean by a seer? how could one single word hold enough weight to apparently calm any and all fears that must surely run riot in a leader? then again, this was a clan that had managed to take in nibi, had offered to help her find her kits when they didn't even know her. why should she start being surprised now?
the seer shifted slightly, turning her wide pupils back to her before mudstar could ask anything more. "will you not claw me if i move? only your kits are rather hungry and i should think you're rather antsy to have them back. don't really fancy ending up on the wrong side of those claws of yours, though. so i move or you come here?"
"don't move," patch warned, though darkpool didn't seem to be all that much of a threat.
"the latter, then, alright," darkpool murmured, mostly to herself it seemed, and patch watched the way the tortoiseshell's muscles went taunt ever so slightly as she took a step forward. 'how come your ancestors aren't tellin you i'm not gonna hurt you now?' she thought, but what she spat out, unintentionally, too drained to fully control her tone was: "ain't gonna claw you, calm down."

Snowstar found nothing interesting on his patrol until the forest border. Near the river that ran through it, a fluffy white she-cat sat. She was gazing over the border, looking at something Snowstar couldn't see. "Hello?" he asked? The she-cat jumped. She whirled around with a hiss and leaped at Snowstar. He ducked and rolled onto his back. It was dangerous, exposing his belly, but he had an idea. The she-cat missed Snowstar, but laughed when she saw his exposed belly. As she leaped at him, he bunched his paws together, claws unsheathed. When she was about to land on him, he pushed up with all his strength, flinging the she-cat into a bush. She panted, wincing as she got up, but didn't attack. He hadn't noticed before, but the she-cat had managed to scratch his pad. "You should use dock for that. Of course, you should put marigold and cobwebs on it first." she snapped her jaws shut. Snowstar was now more curious then mad. "You know about herbs?"

The she-cat nodded. "Yes. I came from an old Clan called SeaClan. My name is Whitepaw." "A Clan?" Snowstar said, his voice sharp with interest. "Yes. Follow me." Snowstar bounded towards the camp, looking behind him every once and a while to make sure Whitepaw kept up. She followed him through the entrance to camp before they emerged into the camp. Ashfall sat near the Food Pile. A rabbit and a vole lay next to him. "Another cat?" the General said. Whitepaw squeaked. "You!" Ashfall wrinkled his muzzle in concentration. Then his eyes flew wide. "Oh StarClan" he mewed. "You - you let your sister die!"

Snowstar glanced between Ashfall and Whitepaw. She looked much to old to be an apprentice, he realized. But then the force of Whitepaw's words hit him. Snowstar glared at Ashfall incredulously. "You let your own sister die!?" Ashfall winced. "I would've been killed if I had interfered!" he yelped. "Also, I was angry, alright! I left the rogue group later!!!" "You...you did?" Whitepaw asked. Ashfall nodded.

Snowstar narrowed his eyes. "Alright." he mewed. He turned towards Whitepaw. "I must speak to my General about his...past." he mewed. "So I don't have time for an official ceremony. But you will learn the ways of our clan in time. Whitepaw, would you like to become a member of StemClan?" Whitepaw nodded. "Could I be the medicine cat?" she asked. Snowstar shook his head, confused. "I have no idea what that is, but you may become a Healer. The first, actually." Whitepaw looked confused until something clicked in her. "I accept." she said. "Then by the power of StarClan, you have a full name. Whitepaw, you will now be known as Whitepelt. Explore the territory while I hunt with Ashfall as he explains his past." Snowstar said. "Then you and me will go to the Moontree."

Bloompaw and Foxpaw were silent as Rabbitnose checked them over. They even had their heads turned away from each other. As Rabbitnose parted her lips, the silence was broken. "Um, well there's only small scratches so you should both be fine. Just please don't get into fights on a daily basis," she said.
"Foxpaw started it," Bloompaw growled. Foxpaw stayed quiet as Rabbitnose let out a sigh. Suddenly, Appleblaze ran in. "What happened!?" she demanded.
"Sorry, I was out wh-" Rabbitnose started.
"I was talking to Foxpaw and then he attacked me!" Bloompaw shouted.
"She was annoying me," he hissed. Unsure whose side to be on, Appleblaze looked at them both with pity. She each gave them both a lick and brought them close. "Now apologise," she said. They turned their heads. Foxpaw then walked out.
"Foxpaw, wait!" she yelled.
"Just leave him," Bloompaw said. The two stayed to chat as Rabbitnose awkwardly watched. After some time, Birdstar came inside. She bowed her head at the gathered cats. She turned to Bloompaw.
"I have received reports of the incident from anyone present and I have come to the conclusion that you aren't solely to blame. You may do your warriors assessment."
"Really!? Thank you so much!" she squeaked. Appleblaze wished her luck and then she left as Bloompaw went to do her assessment. All that was left inside the den were Rabbitnose and Birdstar. They stared at each other for a while.

"So, how ha-"
"Rabbitnose! Come quick!" Songfeather panted.
"What happened?"
"Kits are coming!" she shouted.
"Kits? Oh! Dapplecloud's kits. Coming right away!" she shouted back and gathered a couple things. She nodded a farewell to Birdstar and ran for the nursery. Songfeather followed. At the nursery, Drizzlepool was helping Dapplecloud feel comfortable.
"Sorry, Drizzlepool. Please move," Rabbitnose said.
"Sorry, Ms," he said and shuffled out. She squeezed herself in and stood before Dapplecloud. Despite everything, she seemed to appear somewhat calm. She explained what she had to do and obediently behaved. The elders watched from behind until Songfeather had an idea.
"Ah, Rabbitnose?"
"What is it?" she replied, looking back.
"Why don't we help out? We aren't doing anything else," she suggested. Rabbitnose looked at her, then Dapplecloud then back to her.
"Okay, just please do as I say." Together, Rabbitnose and the elders helped to deliver the kits.

Elsewhere, Dustbreeze was angry about what Emberstorm had told Hailpaw. He had forced her out of camp to tell her what he thought.
"I told you not to tell him about that but what do you do? You do it anyway!" he shouted.
"Well, we need more members. And besides he would get involved since you're a part of it," she calmly said.
"I wasn't going to make him involved! I was going to leave him out of it. But now he is! " he hissed. "I change my mind. I don't want anything to do with the alliance."
"You can't do that. You can't back out once when you're in," she said. He froze and slowly looked at her.
"You never told me that."
"I didn't? Oops! I must've forgot," she mischievously smiled. He growled. "Look, think about it for now. You don't have to get Hailpaw involved too much. You can wait for when he's a warrior."
"Whatever. I've had enough of talking to you," he said and walked away.
"He'll get over it," she smiled. Someone approached her from behind. "Ah, Foxpaw! Have you been well?"
"Yes. About from my sister," he replied.
"No worries. We're your family now." He gave her a smile and his mood seemed to improve immediately.

Morningcloud had herded her kittens outside of the nursery again, not wanting to bother Ryeflower
much. Her four children had become large and rowdy, and it wouldn't be long before they moved
to the apprentice den. Morningcloud would welcome it, for she would love to be on warrior duty
before too long. She was getting restless cooped up in the nursery, as much as she loved her kittens.

She noticed Martinwhisker approaching her, their newest addition to the clan, and watched him come
closer a little warily, glancing at her as if for permission. She nodded evenly, and he came to sit with
her, looking down at the kittens. "They're adorable," he said, warmly.

"If you think so, maybe you can sleep with them for the next moon," Morningcloud said, though her
prod was good natured. Cranekit approached the patched warrior and pounced on his tail, and
Martinwhisker gave a faint yelp. Morningcloud laughed softly. "See, they like you."

"I don't think I'm cut out to be a queen," he said, though he dropped into a crouch in front of Cranekit,
wriggling his behind and grinning at the kitten. Delighted for attention, Cranekit copied the stance,
but poorly. "A mentor sounds good, though."

Morningcloud reached out with a paw, and gently patted Cranekit's lower half down, as if to help him.
"You may want to speak to Adderstar about that. I'm sure she would be happy to oblige."

"Really?" Martinwhisker asked, and his gaze shifted over to the leader. She was sitting very close to
Tipwhisker, their pelts brushing together. "I'll have to ask later. She looks busy."

Creamfoot padded into the pride and stored his find. While he waited for the rest to come back, he checked in on Dawnrush and her kits.
"How are you all doing," he asked, glancing over the queen and her sleeping kits.
"Much better now that we've been able to sleep. The poor things have dealt with so much". Creamfoot nodded, eyes still glazing over the kits, looking for any issues he could.
"Well of course, if you ever need anything, you can come to me. I'll fill you in on all the incoming news of the clan" he said, finished looking over the trio. Dawnrush only nodded to his words, turning her attention back to her kits.

Bluestorm followed behind her leader, and for the first time, trying to hide her own doubts. The leader stood out in the snow, brown fur clashing with the white snow. In truth, Bluefor thought they were going come back empty mouthed till she spotted a rabbit her leader hadn't seen yet. Ready to prove herself, she bounded after the creature, too early. She sprang forward with a thud, scaring her prey away.
Laurelstar turned to her companion and gave a gentle smile.
"It happens to the best". Bluefur was unhappy with the comment and opened her mouth to protest when Laurelstar climbed up into a tree and disappeared. Leader or not, how dare she talk down to her. She stopped to sit in the snow and mumble to her herself. Laurelstar hopped down from the tree shortly after, squirrel in jaw, she sat it down and looked a Bluestorm.
"It's been a while since I've hunted in the snow, I take it this is the same for you?" Bluestorm sighed and nodded.
"It's a lot of changes at once, but I believe in that our growing clan can make it", Larurelstar looked up to the sky, "But we should be heading back" she added, picking up her catch and started heading back.
Bluestorm was quiet for a moment as she followed, but a question stood out in her head.
"Do you think things would have turned out different if we had been here?"
Laurelstar shook her head.

"She'll be disappointed in us" Fernstep moaned as she and Sandbrush walked back from the hunt, no prey to share. Sandbrush shook some snow from his fur.
"She will understand. I don't suspect her to be one to judge when the weather is like this".
Fernstep stared and the male then shook her head.
"I don't understand how you can be calm right now." Frenstep never got a reply as a male and female approached. The male geared down for an attack, but the female shook her and jumped in front of him.
"We mean no harm! I'm Sunflower, and this is my mate Coyotefang. We're lost, or more, looking for somewhere to go".
"You're too nice" Coyotefang growled lowly behind her, Sunflower ignored him and continued.
"Our clan is gone, were looking for a new home, if we can find on that is".
Fernstep and Sandbrush looked at each other, then nodded. Fernstep gestured with her tail to tell Sandbrush to speak.
"Why don't you come with us" he said softly.
