STORY NOTES
→ Stormstar's tail gets caught in a lobster trap, much to her annoyance. A friendly ex-housecat, Peaches, helps her to break free.
→ Sootstone, Mousewhisker, and Violetsky bicker on the docks as seagulls repeatedly snatch up their catches. It's tourist season!
→ Alfie and Bear, two young strays, seek shelter with DriftClan after a run-in with rogues. Peaches tends to their scrapes, while Gullthroat nurses their bruised egos.
→ Rhea, a local housecat, visits the red shack out of curiosity and quickly befriends its occupants. While unwilling to abandon her owner, she readily agrees to join the small clan's ranks.
→ Pauly and Emma engage in strange rituals to avoid talking about their feelings.

even though pebblestar didn't use to be the best huntress, her hunt went fairly well! While carefully navigating through the thick underbrush of the forest, she heard a noise. checking the air for any trace of prey she realized it must be some sort of hare and... something else. slowly creeping towards the animal, pebblestar waited for it to show itself. it didn't take long before she saw the big, beady eyes of a european hare and without second thought she dashed out from her hiding spot and pounced on her prey! to her surprise, the animal quickly gave up and she could proudly make her way back home. or, at least so she thought.

when she turned around, she almost jumped at the cat suddenly standing in front of her! eyes wide and fur bristling she was ready to fight off the sudden intruder should he make just one wrong move.

the grey tom looked at the cat in front of him, a bit unsure what to do. what had he gotten himself into now? not that it's any surprise, he gets into trouble all the time. the calico clearly want happy about him being here, so he slowly lowered himself to the ground, relaxing his muscles as much as he could to show that he's not a threat. when the cat finally seemed to realize that he doesn't mean any harm, he spoke up: "I apologize, I didn't mean to scare you like that!", he looked clearly embarrassed, "however, I didn't want to scare your prey off so I tried to be as quiet as I could when I approached. umm... needless to say it's already dead."

pebblestar wasn't sure what to think of this situation. the large tom clearly didn't appear to be of any harm, but... how could anyone be so incredibly clumsy...?
she let the hare down to speak: "I... I guess it's alright. but tell me, what are you doing out here? don't you have a clan to care for? you could have easily taken that hare from me or even attacked me from behind, when I didn't pay attention."

now he understood! he ran across a wild cat, no wonder she was so surprised and careful when he approached her. he quickly apologized again.
"oh, you see, I don't have a clan. I grew up with what we call humans. you know, the two legged hairless giants...? I have heard plenty of stories about cats living in the wild though. and... after my humans abandoned me, I guess I wanted to try and see if any of your clans would take a cat like me in. oh and, my name is clumsy."

now, pebblestar was even more dumbfounded. it made sense that the tomcat didn't know what he was getting himself into, but even for a kittypet he truly was exceptionally... clumsy. at least his name suits him.
"alright, clumsy." she sighed, "if you would like to, you can come with me. I do not have a real clan just yet, but I know my way around and I can teach you a thing or two. just know that life in a clan is anything but easy. I doubt a kittypet like you knows what it's about, but we can work on it."

clumsy was beaming from joy! finally, he found a place to be. "I would love to join you!", he said, excited for what the world will have in store for him.

"alright, then from now on, your name will be clumsystep. I am pebblestar." the calico took a deep breath. "please follow me."
