A komala was sleeping soundly on a tree near where you stood.

Jaz looked at the Komala and frowned. "Buddy, is there another way around? This guy looks really sleepy, and I don't want to wake him up. I've heard that Komala are really scary when they wake up." Their tone was a whisper, but Buddy had already prepared himself to use the move Dragon Breath on the poor sleeping Pokemon. Before Jaz could tell their Treecko no, the normally timid Pokemon decided to use his move all on his own. Why was he being so feisty right now?

Jaden stares at the small pokemon, confused as to why it was inside the game corner.
"Hey little guy," He called out to the Pichu, "Did you have something to do with the slot machine breaking?"
The Pichu looked up at him, it's eyes full of guilt.
"Don't worry, you're not in trouble," Jaden reassures it, "But it sure takes a lot of power to break one of those machines. How would you like to join my team?"
Jaden holds out a pokeball to the pokemon, hoping that it'll come with him.
Ahhh, does anybody else remember the pikachu-colored pichu event? You were given a pikachu-colored pichu and if you went into the Ilex forest with it, you would get its friend, the spiky eared pichu. Every time I see a shiny pichu I'm reminded of that event.

The pokemon woke up to a start! It looked around before glaring towards you both. It decided to use rollout on the Wood Gecko pokemon which dealt a bit of damage.

The small pichu blinked once and wiggled it's left ear. "Piii!" With a happy squeak, it leaped toward the ball and let itself be captured. Though not before shocking Jaden once.
Out of excitement from a new friend joining you, Max has evolved!

How dare that Komala try to hurt Buddy! "Buddy, use Bullet Seed! And watch out for his next move! Please don't get too hurt..." Jaz was upset that Buddy started a fight, but they couldn't let their pal down when he needed it the most. He was so going into his ball when this was over. Maybe Jaz would bond with Phoenix while they put Buddy in time-out.

Walking through the forest, you start to hear a buzzing. Something in you does tell you that it isn't the angry buzzing of a Beedrill at least. but what else could it be? Pushing past a few leaves you discover a Combee! Looking closer, you even see a small red triangle on the bottom comb, this is a female Combee!

The Komala shook off the bullet Seeds and used rollout again but with a bit more power, Unfortunately it missed. and the komala landed on the tree bark, seemingly dazed.
