WHITE WOLF LODGE and the surrounding area is the domain of the team known as THE SERPENTS. It is a sled
dog team passed down through generation to generation, known for their extraordinary dogs. CHIC SULLY fou
nded THE SERPENTS under the guidance of his father, a five time sled race winner. CHIC grew up in the family
business and was taught by his father starting at the age of five. He had always loved the thought of one day,
having his own team and making his father proud. WHITE WOLF LODGE to some may seem like a luxury lodge i
n the snows of Alaska, but to THE SERPENTS it is so much more - it’s home. WHITE WOLF LODGE has enough s
pace - more than enough - to comfortably house the members of THE SERPENTS, along with the dogs. Among
other rooms, the most important are kitchen, the living room, and the bedrooms. All members, dogs and hum
ans, are housed at WHITE WOLF LODGE. Primarily, the living room is used for relaxing, but at times, is is also
used for meetings. THE SERPENTS are a tightly knit, and close group - they all themselves, and they are a fa
mily. They welcome newcomers with open arms, and are non-judgmental.

Mhiret Azikiwe was born in Kentucky, but has been raised around the world as the child of missionaries. She was constantly frustrated by the lack of ability to connect to any sort of community, and so as soon as she was able to live on her own, she moved to the one place she had never lived before. Alaska. After completing her college education, she took a small local job for a while, but she felt cooped up indoors. When she went to the shelter to get a dog to keep her and her cat Vrugte company, she met Skaduwee, a sled dog pup deemed “too unruly to run”. However, Mhiret was never shy of a challenge, and within a year they were ready to roll, which is when she started Lopende Briesie.

for most of his life, asa felt trapped in the great expanse of alaska. he wanted little more than to get away from his
family and their kennel of sled dogs in order to crave his own path in the world. if asked, he would have said that he
wanted to be an actor, an artist, someone of importance and worth remembering. while his older brother showed a
strong passion for training future sled dogs and training, asa stayed inside to memorize poems and read long novels.
the first chance he had, asa escaped alaska with the intention of never returning. he packed his bags and took the
first plane as far away as he could get, not caring where it went so long as it was far away and accepted his one-way
ticket. ultimately, he landed in new york, where he reveled in the crowds and hustle to life. asa thrived in the fast-
paced environment, returning phone calls to his family when it suited him, too caught up in his own acting auditions
for commercials and too busy dreaming about a long, fulfilling future that he thought little of the snow and dogs he'd
grown up with. for several years, he thought that he'd made it out of alaska, never to see it again.
never again, that is, until he got a call from his father, stating that his brother had gone missing after taking his team
out for a simple run that shouldn't have taken longer than a day. but when his brother failed to return home, asa's
parents called together a rescue party. a body was never found and asa was crushed by the loss.
in the wake of the tragedy, asa's father told asa that he had to come home to take over their family business. as both
of his parents were too old to train dogs and go for runs as they used to, it was up to asa to keep the kennel alive.
against asa's better wishes to stay in the city, he packed his bags and boarded the next flight back home. upon his
arrival, asa learned that the kennel was in disarray and in need of renovations. the only dog that remained after his
brother's passing was a young jamthund named sitka, who had been left behind by asa's brother.
though asa had little passion for sledding while he was growing up and continues to wish that he was back in new
york, he maintains a drive to not let his parents or brother down, and he understands that he is the last hope of
keeping their family business in tact.
