    whisker - no, whiskerstar - blinked, rain dripping off his long whiskers as he padded on, his powerful paws guiding him. he was returning for the red stone. he had recieved his nine lives and asked for his first clanmate - a mother. it wasnโ€™t the best idea and could be seen as weak, but a mother meant cubs and cubs meant more future warriors. whiskerstar slowed his pace as he reached the mountains, gazing up at what he called home. home. something heโ€™d never felt like he had before - until now. he had a home. no more being rejected. heโ€™d lead his clan to the very top, not matter what it would take. whiskerstar narrowed his eyes, turning away as memories filled his mind of his life before this. he was never respected, never loved. only his mother believed in him, but she left. whiskerstar tried to picture her, happy and alive. maybe she was alive, somewhere. the tom shook his head, forgetting the thoughts. it was time to begin working, he needed to mark and check the borders aswell as hunt.

Aricstar sniffed the jungle air welcomingly. He had jus recieved nine, painful lives, and the odd name of...Spottedstar? Aricstar had refused the name, telling the strange cats - half of them dark, half of them light, that he would prefer to keep his name. If they had to add star, he could be Aricstar. The ancestors had agreed.

Aricstar had felt uncomfortable the whole meeting, though. The Star-furred cats kept glancing at the dark ones, and hissing. Aric guessed both sides were there because he had always been neutral, and hoped to make his Glaring Neutral-sided, only fighting for a side if necessary. He huffed. This would be hard.

But his stomach interrupted his thoughts, and the tom supposed he must eat. Time to hunt.

The Mountaineers are a group of big cats that reside in a large mountain range somewhere in Europe. It snows heavily in the winter and rains in the summer. It is rarely every warm, so all of the members must have thick fur. They live in a carved out portion of a mountain that overlooks the tree-filled valley below (where they hunt). The cave has networks of tunnels and each tunnel leads to a different den. The middle of the cave is where they meet and converse. The leader's den is in the wall of the main clearing and has an outcrop jutting out from it. A whole wall of the clearing is gone, flooding the space with natural light and giving the cats a nice view (something like this)

Since the environment is so cold, there are specific breeds that can live in the Glaring.

Siberian tigers
Lynx
Bobcat

The mountaineers aren't too fond of outsiders. They are a close-knit community but will tend to give the cold (hehe get it) shoulder to other glarings. It will take a while, but when the Mountaineers become your allies, they are supportive, loyal, and will fight anyone who dares insult themselves or their friends. They are seen as kind, but ruthless if you do them wrong.

Her full name is Lady Darkshadow Clearwater of the Pondhoppers, but she by far prefers Darkshadow, or Lady Darkshadow now that she's become a fae Leader. Cougars are rarely uptight about their names like lions and tigers tend to be, after all. Darkshadow reflects on this as she rests her head on her magnificently huge paws, big even for a cat her size. She twitches her tail idly as she thinks of her next move. She will need more cats.
