WEATHER !!

NEWLEAF || The sun begins to peek through the leaves as the dark and heavy clouds of Leafbare roll away. Birds begin to trill earlier in the morning, and the hibernating rodents stir from their slumber as they seek out meals to fill their aching bellies. Prey will be easier to catch, and kittings will grow easier on mothers. Cats are less desperate for homes and will be friendlier to patrols. However, with warmer weather comes more danger. Predators are no longer hungry and vicious, but they have full bellies and growing muscle. They lay unseen, waiting to attack. Twolegs sightings grow more common as well, though cats do not know why the strange creatures seem to prefer warmer weather.

𖦹 𝙼𝚄𝙼𝙱𝙻𝙴𝙲𝙻𝙰𝙽 𖦹

This clan of cats lives in the mountains where the weather and way of life are unpredictable. The main home of MumbleClan resides amongst a rocky terrain surrounded by large pine trees. Most cats choose to bundle together in moss beds beneath the stars, but there are various shelters for notable figures in the clan. Far from their home is a village filled with twolegs. The cats highly value the village as the twolegs are respectful of the cats' boundaries and way of life. Sometimes, small groups of cats stay in the area for safety and protection on long journeys. Closer to their home is a lake where a temporary home is built. Many cats enjoy to lounge and stay here when troubled.

MumbleClan are often seen as lazy cats by outsiders for good reason. Due to their closeness towards twolegs, they do not have a lot of worry regarding dangerous outside forces. They also spend a decent amount of time resting because of the ache of the cold. Majority of cats have long fur to keep them warm and underneath their large amounts of fur are often slender and agile bodies worn from travel or lack of food. Traveling is a big part of the clan as the cats want to gain wisdom and stories from all parts of the land.

MumbleClan is highly spiritual clan that thrives off of storytelling and and tradition. They say thanks before every meal and value the life they often have to eat. They also regularly fast to reinforce this thanks. It is a widespread belief that the mountains are haunted, and specific spirits of those who have passed can bring certain omens to the land.

Isopodstar crouched as he noticed a white creature sniff around the bush. The oriental could not identify the cat's scent or species, but he assumed it was a rabbit due to its large, rabbit-like ears. As he slowly approached the white figure, he leaped, and his claws met the creature's skin. The white creature let out an oof, and Isopodstar jumped back in surprise as he realized it was a cat, not a rabbit. The oriental stuttered out an apology, still reeling from the fact this... unnatural-looking thing was a cat. "My apologies, I thought you were a rabbit." Isopodstar stammered out. The white cat licked his shallow wounds and glared at the oriental, "Everyone does." Isopodstar noticed many things about the cat's strange appearance- no skin, huge ears, odd toes, elongated fangs, and a short tail. Isopodstar had to do a double take to ensure the being he spoke with was actually a cat. "So, uh, what's your deal?" Isopodstar asked. The cat laughed, "You mean why I look so weird? Wow, I can't help that I was born this way." The white cat looked offended, and before Isopodstar could blurt out an apology, the white cat laughed, "I'm fooling you. My name is Basatan." Isopodstar let out a sigh of relief and shook Basatan's paw, "I'm Isopodstar, Idol of Squidclan. Have you heard of our clan before?" Basatan thought for a moment, "I have not." Isopodstar took his chance, "Would you like to join the clan, then? We hunt and fight for each other, and I think you'd fit in great there." Basatan paused before nodding his head, "I have no where else to go, so sure."

Sootblotch stared at their paws as Newttongue spoke with Wrenspark. The Persian tom had become close friends with Newttongue, and Sootblotch felt left out. They knew it was unfair to be jealous, but Wrenspark had been their best friend, and Newttongue had intruded on that. The gray classic tabby felt sick, even though they had just eaten a small meal, and they started to tremble. Anxiety tremors plagued the cat for what seemed like every day. They stood up and walked across the camp to an isolated area, away from any other cat. They dove into a slight dip in the ground, curling their tail around their body and covering their head. Their head throbbed and ached as if full of too many thoughts. Sootblotch couldn't help but think about their first friend and lover, Nettle. Every thought about Nettle made Sootblotch quiver, and the gray classic tabby let out a small moan of pain. They wish they could redo their life over again. Thoughts raced in their mind. Why would Isopodstar pick such a weak and pathetic cat to even lead with?

Isopodstar lay miserably in the Healer's den. Doefern had laid a few borage leaves next to him, but he refused to look at them. He knew he had to take the borage but felt too exhausted. Then again, his exhaustion was his own fault. Isopodstar's entire body ached due to his ever-prevalent chronic pain. Still, he was determined to put his clan above all else. The oriental was staring at his paws when he heard pawsteps enter the den. He looked up and smiled as he saw Helleborekit. Isopodstar raised his foot to his head and drew it outwards to say hello. The black and white oriental gave a purr as Helleborekit copied his greeting. "You're learning well, Helleborekit." The gray cat nodded excitedly before Helleborekit sat down in front of him and slowly signed 'when apprentice." with a slight, questioning dip of his head. Isopodstar stood up, wincing as he felt pain in his muscles, but gave a smile, "Soon." and signed it as well. Helleborekit brightened significantly, repeating the sign to Isopodstar before happily trotting out of the den. Isopodstar sat back down, a genuine, soft smile on his face. He looked at the borage leaves beside him and chewed and swallowed them.

Cedarspeckle's throat rumbled with purrs as she looked down at the three tiny bundles cuddled next to her body. Doefern's warm blue gaze looked down at the queen and her newborns. Doefern silently applied a cobweb to Cedarspeckle's bleeding and licked the queen between her ears. Cedarspeckle didn't mind. All of her attention was focused on her three kits. Doefern took one last glance at the queen and left. Graveldust was sitting in a nest nearby Cedarspeckle- she had requested to see how Doefern handled the birth so she could prepare for her birth. She had sent Helleborekit away, though. The three kits squirmed next to Cedarspeckle, and Graveldust sighed silently. If Cedarspeckle could carry on without a father to her kits, so could she. But there was still an ache in Graveldust's heart, and the gray tabby knew that it would always be there. Cedarspeckle faced Graveldust, her eyes sparkling. Graveldust, despite her worries, gave a smile back and mewed, “They’re so beautiful.”

at last, the thaw has come. flower buds replace snowdrifts, and the land is freed from frost.
clan can expect to find more prey, more herbs, and more cats looking for a home. however,
predators have started coming out of hiding as well, and may pose extra threats in the nice

The light guide observed the caretaker licking the small kits snuggling in their belly "Are you sure they're not overwhelming you? You don't have to do this if-"
"Hey, Meteor" Haze firmly interrupted "Don't worry, really. I wouldn't be happier to help you take care of them" they smiled, and returned to groom the kits. Two of them were Meteorfall's own kits, and the other one, who stood out for having a different coat, was supposedly abbandoned in the Lightwalkers territory, although not having blood ties with any of the Lightwalkers, Meteor was eager to raise that one as a kit of theirs as well.
The light guide never expected to be a parent, a thought that filled them with excitement and a bit of anxiety, their whole clan seemed to share that feeling, having their first clan born cats made the idea of their little group growing through generations more of a near future than a distant dream.

As Meteorfall had to split their attention between their kits and the clan, Gleamingonyx took a more active role as subguide, being now fully responsible for organizing the patrols and other affairs. The seal point gathered some companions to build a healer den near the central tree for Sunsetstep, and afterwards the ginger healer invited the subguide to relax a little in the new den. They felt proud of themself for being able to do all of that, although their tiredness was bigger than usual.
"Uhm, you know you didn't have to build this for me, Onyx" the healer blushed "Not that I don't like it- I actually like it! A lot!! I'm just a little worried you might overwork yourself doing all of this-"
The seal point laughed and loudly proclaimed "Don't worry! I'm fine!" They laid their head in the soft grass and rested their eyes "Meteorfall will be proud of me..." They whispered.
Watching the now quiet Onyx, Sunset noticed the seal point's heavy breathing, likely from working all day nonstop. They couldn't stop themself from worrying about the possibility of the young subguide overworking themself and becoming sick, Sunset could tell Onyx was the kind of cat who would try to prove themself as much as they possibly could, disregarding their own well being, however the timid healer felt unable to address that.

Mistmask and Darktempest were somewhat drawn to each other and decided to spend some time together. The little gray cat's sweet personality was captivating, the black and white cat felt protective of them.

aaEVENTS IN THE GLADE

→ Eaglestar has kept close tabs on her clan's stalker. After enduring one moon of a second shadow following her every footstep, Eaglestar corners her on the first day of the moon. The cat timidly introduces herself as Laurel, a refugee from a faraway war-torn group. Eaglestar watches Laurel tremble and, with a twinge of pity, offers her the chance to join GladeClan. Laurel accepts and is renamed Laurelstripe.

→ Brambleburr is relaxing in camp when she notices her leader returning with company. She greets Laurelstripe warmly and takes it upon herself to teach the newcomer how to live as a warrior. Brambleburr guides Laurelstripe to the warrior's den so that they might get to know one another. They spend the afternoon discussing clan life and their pasts in hushed tones.

→ Having dismissed herself to finish patrolling, Eaglestar picks up a strange scent near the borders. She follows it all the way to the edge of the territory, where two odd-looking cats have just stopped their travels to rest. They grow wary as she approaches. When the smaller of the two looks directly at Eaglestar, she finds a strange understanding in her dark eyes. The cats introduce themselves as Storm and Goose, travelers in need of a place to stay. Eaglestar offers them a space in the dens, but as she turns to lead them to camp, she cannot shake the feeling that they know something they shouldn't.

→ A lost kitten is struck by a monster as he tries to cross the base of the Thunderpath. The impact sends him flying, and he falls into unconsciousness before the blinding pain can hit him. Some time later, the kitten stirs, dragged into wakefulness by a stranger's voice and unfamiliar paws on his chest.

[Colors and Patterns:]

Fruitbasket, more commonly referred to as the "fruit cats," has a variety of brightly colored cats with various hues and designs. Their fur is usually fluffy, and most cats have a pattern rather than just a single solid color. Common colors and include, but are not limited to:

Bright oranges
Whites
Purple-ish blues and blacks
Yellows and golds

(King/Queen) - Leader
The leader of Fruitbasket. He or she is in control of everything and everyone. They are extremely pampered, similar to kittypets. They are often the fluffiest, prettiest cats with the most vibrant designs.

(Assistant) - Deputy
The assistant of the King or Queen. They are chosen specifically by said leader and usually roam camp making sure things are the way they supposed to be. They are like the traditional deputy of a clan.

(Gatherers) - Hunters
Similar to hunters, gatherers will climb into the trees and patrol around the territory gathering fruits and berries that are edible for the kingdom. They bring with them baskets, which were found in the abandoned building that the cats reside in. Gatherers are trained from apprentices to be able to climb trees, pick fruits without damaging them, and be able to carry the small baskets in their teeth. They will also kill and stalk smaller animals like the traditional hunter of a clan. After killing prey, they will bow and praise for its safe travel into the afterlife with Paradise.

(Royal Guard) - Guards
The guards of the kingdom. Two to four cats, depending on the circumstances, will stand guard in front of the King or Queen's kingdom, and in front of the village. Royal Guards are usually cats who were previously knights, and therefore are required to have a good amount of training before they are chosen.

(Knights) - Warriors
Protectors of the kingdom. They are the ones who go into battle, and leave on patrol when needed. They are almost like the traditional "warrior" in other clans. They are trained from apprentices through lots of training and are taught to be prepared for anything.

(Elders)
The oldest cats of the kingdom. They are known to be wise, and even the King or Queen holds great respect to them. Elders are old, retired cats.

(Mothers/Fathers) - Queens
Parent cats with young kits. These cats are usually new mothers and fathers of newborn kits. If there are two parents, one of them I'd required to be with the kits at all times while the other works an easier or shorter job so that they may come back to their mate earlier than usual and help them with the children. If only one parent is present, they have the choice to stay with their kits until they're grown, or they may ask an elder or other cat to watch over them while they continue to do their work.

(Kits)
Kits are simply the babies in the kingdom! Until they are aged up to apprentices, kits live with their mothers and fathers. They usually only play around for most of the day. Kits usually have small fruits like cherries tangled into their fur or tail to represent innocence and purity.

Belief system

The Fruit Cats believe in their own version of starclan: They call it the kingdom in the sky. Cats go there after they die, and depending on the cat, they will either live in the palace or the dungeon during the afterlife.

The Kingdom, as well as the afterlife, is said to be watched over by Paradise, the god of,,Well, paradise! Romance and fraternity between the kingdom and other groups of cats is widely looked down upon, and said cats are usually requested to bring their mate, or go with their mate. Same gender relationships are highly accepted, as well as polyamory, as long as it's all done with consent.

Fruit Cats usually have berries or other plants tangled in their fur, (excluding the King or Queen who only has one around their neck or tail,) starting from when they are kits. They see it as a good luck charm.

All cats must kill or gather at least two servings of food by the end of the day, or they may not eat. During leafbare, the number is lowered to one due to the difficult circumstances.

The naming system is not too complicated. The cats, depending on their ranks, will either have a suffix-prefix name (like the traditional clan cats) or have a single name, chosen by the King or Queen or their assistant.

Clan's nature

Fruit Cats are usually (and ideally) cute, kind, and caring towards each other as well as other cats. They all have very open minds and don't often start arguments. They, quite literally, describe themselves as "residents of paradise." Despite this, getting into the kingdom itself seems to be somewhat difficult. New cats take a while to gain other cats' trust, and are automatically brought back down to the apprentice role regardless of what they were in their previous residence. Some cats may even be exiled for "disturbing the peace."

Territory

A large and rich green biome with trees, streams, and the obvious landmark: A crumbling andq abandoned castle. There are numerous plants and trees that bear fruit, berries, and other edibles for the residents of the kingdom. The biome is seemingly surrounded by small mountains that many cats like to venture up and enjoy the view from the top. The territory is, once again, described as paradise. It functions like any normal clan, even so. Predators wander through from time to time and cause a fight, and depending on the season, prey can go from plentiful to scarce. It rains a little often: The reason for so much green!
