▬▬▬ after a vicious fight, the spoils of the most recent hunt have been split among the strongest warriors of the clan. warrior, warrior, and warrior were left to gnaw at the bones of one prey and a couple of prey. with only the bones left, the clan as a whole has consumed 1 long-tailed weasel.

▬▬▬ slinking into the undergrowth, the champion leaves the safety of the sinkhole. while they despise asking favors from the above, the champion understands that it's important to build their clan's strength. this moon, the champion requests for a healer to be lead to them.

--Birdpaw was happy to sit out of training, but now with more warriors in the clan, he realizes he has to put in the work. He sees the boisterous energy that Midnightstar and Bugpaw bring to training, and the almost too calm and gentleness from Snowpetal towards Brookpaw, and he dreads his new mentor. After watching Brackensting's interactions from afar, he can only hope and pray to StarClan that that tom will not be his new mentor. Thankfully, it seems someone hears his prayers, or perhaps Midnightstar isn't as chaotic as he thinks, and he is assigned Chickadeesong.

--Chickadeesong and Brackensting are best friends - all the cats in the small clan are immediately keyed into that, though most are wondering how this friendship can last or how it even started, with the pair having such drastically different personalities. Though as time goes on, perhaps it does make sense; Brackensting brings out the confidence in Chickadeesong, who also tones down Brackensting's arrogance and hot-headedness.

--The first training session for Birdpaw in a new clan. He is separated from Bugpaw and Brookpaw, now being behind in his training. Chickadeesong is exactly what Birdpaw needed, the young apprentice realizes. Their soft demeanor helps Birdpaw feel more comfortable with himself, assuring him that it's okay to make mistakes because he's still learning, and how could we learn without making these mistakes? They talk about their own experiences, how they make mistakes still because they are young and learning, and Birdpaw realizes that perhaps the mentor and apprentice pair aren't so different from each other, and that training doesn't have to be as difficult as he once thought. He leaves the session feeling a little less scared, a little more himself, and a little more looking forward to continuing his training under Chickadeesong. Still, the young tom gladly listens to Bugpaw and Brookpaw's tales of how their training sessions went, all the same secretly glad he doesn't have Midnightstar's eyes on him as he trains.

--Snowpetal and Midnightstar complement each other well during the other apprentice training session. Midnightstar is more tough love towards the pair of apprentices, but Snowpetal knows when they need encouragement instead of pointers on what they did wrong. Midnightstar is increasingly impressed with Bugpaw's skills, secretly hoping she can keep her deputy position unfilled until the cat is old enough to take the spot. She brings up her consideration with Snowpetal, who she feels comfortable talking with and enjoys the company of, who serenely states it's Midnightstar's decision and she would stand by that decision if that's what she thinks best.
