The Beyond

Humans are such superstitious and jealous creatures. They see something that's not quite human, and they're all over it, calling it a demon, a monster, an anomaly. That was all going to change. She was going to make it change. She ran. For who knows how many days. Her anger fueled her. Humans are the monsters.

Then, she found it. A perfect home. Hidden deep in an ancient forest, right next to a beautiful ocean. The trees were tall, the forest was rich with prey, the ocean's waves were so soothing. She staked this land as her own. Beyond the humans. Beyond the oppression. Beyond judging eyes. They would be the Beyonders.

Description:

The Beyond is a clearing in a huge redwood forest, quite easy to get lost in if you don't know where you're going. The trees shelter them from the sun and any predators flying overhead. They're surrounded on all sides by forest, except to the east, where the land smooths down to a rocky beach with ocean for miles. They usually build treehouses, the ones higher up for flying species, the ones around the middle for ones that can climb, and the ones on the bottom for the rest of the landed species. The species that prefer water, however, live on the shore of the beach, and the land and sea villagers will mingle on the beach.
