The sounds of bird chirping and the normal bustle of forest sounds surrounded Xander and Lillith as they waited, sitting on a rock hidden in the forest. Lillith was sharpening one of her daggers, the steel was clean and had a clear reflection, as the handles were a purple color with small charms tied with string dangling off of it.
“I don’t think they’re coming.” Xander said, sighing. Sable had told them that Elsa and Ares would be walking through this part of the forest, on a gathering patrol.
Lillith rolled her eyes. “Sable has the routes, she knows that Ares and Elsa will be coming through this way.”
Xander opened his mouth to reply but they heard the rustle of leaves. Xander quickly got behind the rock ducking Lillith following closely behind. The two watched as Elsa pushed through the bushes, alone. Lilith shifted getting ready to jump and attack but Xander grabbed her arm stopping her. Following Elsa was Arlo, Lester, and Anai. “We can’t get him, we have to leave.”
Lilith looked at Elsa then back at Xander and nodded her head. She was confused as to why the other three were there, this wasn’t what Sable had told them. The duo started to sneak away when they heard a growl from behind them. “Oh no.” Xander muttered as he looked up and saw the looming figure of Azroth behind them. “We have to get out of here now!” They started running and the dragon chased after them, Elsa’s party following closely behind.
Xander’s foot got caught on a root of a tree and he fell onto the ground. Lillith didn’t stop for him, she just kept going. He felt a heavy weight get pressed onto his back and he realized that Azroth was standing on top of him. “Lillith!” He called out.
Lillith was still running, she made some hand motions and she was gone in a flurry of flames. “We lost her.” Anai stated.
“We got Xander.” Lester said watching Xander struggle underneath the weight of his dragon.
“Take him back to the castle. He’s all we need.” Arlo said, staring down at Xander.

Sable was heading to a meeting with Blake to talk about duties dealing with the soldiers and the scouts. Obviously this was taking place inside the castle, she pushed open a wooden door and Blake was already inside examining a map on the table. Sable said nothing and slid into a nearby chair. “Where’s Arlo?”
“He’s dealing with some other things. Said he found the person who killed Bryant.”
“He did?” Sable asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah he did, apparently they were going after Elsa and Ares too, he went with Elsa on a patrol and found the person.”
Sable stood up out of her seat. “I think I forgot something outside, I’ll be right back.”
Blake looked confused. “Okay?”
Sable walked quickly out of the room heading down the hallway, she already knew what was happening. They had Xander. Of course he wouldn’t expose anything, Sable could at least trust him on that. The only thing she didn’t know is where he would be.
She saw Alice walking down the hall, she was close to Arlo, she would clearly know where he was. She reached her arm out before the passed grabbing onto the collar of her dress and slamming her against the wall. “Where is he?”
Alice pushed Sable away. “Who are you talking about?”
“Xander! I know you have him!” She felt her hands growing hot. “Where is Arlo keeping him?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Sable.” She noticed Sable’s eyes began to start glowing a violent shade of red. “Sable are you okay?”
“I'm fine! I need to know where he is, and don’t pull that I don’t know stuff with me, Blake is raving about it in the meeting room!”
“Sable-”
“What in the god's name is going on here?” It was Arlo.
Sable looked at him. “Oh, just the person I was looking for… tell me where you put Xander.”
“I don’t know where Xander is. Aren’t you supposed to be in a meeting with the Heads?”
Sable ignored his question, and marched up to him. “You lay a finger on him, and I will burn this castle to the ground.” She turned away from the two scowling.
Arlo watched her leave. “So it was her.”
Alice huffed. “Oh really? I didn't know.”
“You don’t sound too happy.”
“She knows Arlo, and she doesn’t seem like the kind of person you want to get on the bad side of.” Alice said, before leaving the king alone in the empty hall.

"Alright, that's the last of it. Let's head back." Georica spoke, picking up her basket. Her forehead glistened with a thin sheen of sweat. She wiped it off with her sleeve, before turning to face her trainee. Ered was adjusting the position of his basket on the ground, to try and get a grip on it. At last finding purchase, he heaved the basket upwards, just barely enduring the weight.

On the walk back to the village, Ered was always a few steps behind. Just barely able to see over the full basket, he stumbled frequently. Each time he did, Georica would pause, and wait for him to catch up.

Finally, Ered made it back to the village. He stumbled over to the food storage, and dropped his basket with a loud thud. Straightening his back, he winced as he began to move his shoulders, trying to shake off the stiffness.

“Nice work Ered.” Georica addressed him. “You can rest now. We’re done for the day.”

Ered brightened, happy he didn’t have to work for a while. “Okay. Thanks, miss!”

As Georica walked away. Ered’s stomach began to growl. Glancing around, he grabbed a nearby bowl, and filled it with a couple handfuls of berries. He glanced at the shaman’s hut, hesitating, before putting another handful in, and taking the bowl over to the windowless building.

Ered pushed through the curtain at the door, squinting through the darkness. The hut had a strong scent of herbs and perfume, and he coughed a little at the stale air. As his eyes adjusted, he spotted what he was looking for. Rillian had chosen to spend the year studying healing, and was currently hunched over a table, making notes on various leaves laid out on the surface in front of her. Ered made his way over, and sat the bowl of berries on the table with a thump. Rillian jumped a little when she heard the noise, but quickly relaxed when she saw who it was.

“Hey.” She softly spoke, clearly exhausted. “Thanks for coming. The master has had me doing nothing but research for the past week.” She grabbed a berry from the bowl, and rather angrily shoved it in her mouth. Ered pulled out the chair next to her, and slumped into it.

“Come on, it seems better than what I’ve been doing. I’m exhausted.” Ered sighed. “Maybe I’ll study healing next year.”

Rillian rolled her eyes. “I wouldn’t recommend it.” She grumbled, shoving an entire handful of berries into her mouth.

Ered was about to reply, when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Mardex in the doorway. He was staring. Menacingly. Ered shoved the bowl of berries towards Rillian.

“Here- you finish these!”

Ered sheepishly scampered out of the room, avoiding the shaman. Maybe he wouldn’t study medicine. Mardex was super intimidating.

Skylesche
Demonym: Skyleschan

The land is predominantly covered in deciduous forest, with mountains to the South, and plains to the North-West. The weather is usually warm and cloudy. The Skylechan people are split between natives, better known as Shifters (those who can shift into one animal species each) and normal humans, who envy the Shifters. Skyleschans enjoy dying their usually long hair into different colours, using dye they make from plants.

Skyleschans are grateful for the vast population of woodland creatures to hunt. Notable ones include deer, rabbits, squirrels, wild pigs and fish that swim in streams leading to a far-away coast. Mountain goats can be found in the mountainy south, and are a good source of dairy. Fruits and vegetables include strawberries, blueberries, apples, raspberries, mushrooms, garlic, lettuce, carrots and potatoes.

New Vulci is located on the side of a river flowing North, to the East lies a flatland where the village is built up, while on the West there holds a large forests where multiple beasts live. The village itself is heavily Roman based, with the founder being from a town called Vulci. The people of New Vulci have a very similar culture to that of Old Vulci. This is shown as the people of New Vulci tend to try to think logically about their environment and situation, and have a very polished style of building. They people of New Vulci are also very open minded, seeing most human-like individuals as equals and friends.(Humans, Dwarf, Dark Elf, Light Elf, Wood Elf, Firbolg, Gnome, and Hobbit.) The people of New Vulci also tend to find celebrations, especially with large feasts, to be a center of their culture. Major events, or holidays are usually met with a variety of food for the guests to choose from.

Winter
Winter is here! During the winter, your villagers are likely to catch very little prey and gather very little food, and the odds of deaths during births will continue to rise. Additionally, they are more prone to catching sickness and are more likely to die from even a mild cold if not taken care of properly.

The Village consists of little caves..a bigger cave for the leader of the village. In that bigger cave, the leader holds the food, that only the ones that work get to eat. Though everyone usually gets food eventually. I'll describe this more in my replies :)

Keep in mind that animals have a human lifespan!

Species
Gray wolves, red wolves, timber wolves, dingoes, domestic dogs, coyotes, African-wild-dogs, foxes, jackals. (Mixes, too.)
Tigers, lions, leopards, cougars, lynxes, cheetah, caracal, ocelot, serval, domestic cat. (Mixes, too.)
Hawks, Eagles, Toucans, Owls.
Bears.
Other species are taken in, though most of the time aren't and are instead slaughtered when found. Depends on the size of the village currently.

The Midnight Village's territory is in a pine forest. A long river that leads to a lake is in the middle of that territory, and the other side of that river is woodland, with assorted fields.

The personality of Midnight Village is strict, cold, and expectant. Higher ranks will expect respect and loyalty, while the lower simply are content with the food and protection they are given.

I would like to use each species natural colors and eye colors, please. Unless cross-bred, then they can mix and match

I would like my founder to be a Leopon or Tigon, please! If that's not allowed, Gray Wolf and a Red Wolf mix? If that's still not allowed, any bigger species is fine. Male as well, I'll choose the gender and age when I get them! Thanks!
