a very cheerful looking totodile walks up to you, leaving a few puddles of water on the ground. it's... hmm. strangely coloured?

shinkai picked up the small lizard-esque pokémon, with the most joyful expression he'd made in his entire life. he'd been waiting for this moment for years now. his dream is just one step ahead "hey there little guy! I guess we're going to be partners from now on, huh?"

how come his pokémon was a different color than the others?
he'd examine the other totodiles color palettes, noticing the very peculiar differences in their colors. the pokémon kind of resembled him, actually ..

"i've never seen anything like this..?" he'd mumble to himself, scratching his cheek with his index finger.
"ah, oh well. ill do more research about this later.. but for now, i'll call you .. jeha!" he'd exclaim. the name was inspired by one of his favorite characters, which although the character was bratty, he was extremely interesting and shinkai loved to do multiple paragraphs of analysis on him.

"okay jeha, let's go!"

jeha sprints forwards happily- there's no stopping this little tododile! they run into the grass quickly.

as you stumble into the grass, a strange mushroom shaped object peeks out of the grass. the noise of jeha and you walking into the grass awakens a very grumpy breloom. the mushroom shaped pokemon glares at the two of you, clearly upset.

prepare for battle or try to leave calmly?

Han carefully picked the pokeball that felt right to her. As she hovered her hands over
them they all wriggled with excitement. Her heart beat in her chest, she was overwhel
─med with so much excitement. She looked up at the professor, determination in her
eyes, and blindly grabbed a pokeball.

"I knew you would pick that one," the professor softly smiled, before turning
away to put the other pokeballs away. Finally alone with the shiny red gem o
─f possibilities in her hands, she opened it up.

Out of it leapt the most adorable little mudkip, with shiny little eyes and a happy little tail that wagged when he saw her. He was so wonderful, but it was something else other than his striking personality that stuck out to her. He was a bright pink, nothing like she had ever seen before, and it suited him incredibly well. The Mudkip jumped into the air a little, opening his mouth and letting out a soft, "mudkip," seemingly demanding a name.

"What should I call you?" Han pondered for a moment, before taking Mudkip up in her arms and announcing to him, "How do you like Oberon?" Oberon purred in agreement, and snuggled into Han as she pulled him closer for a hug. "I'm going to go on an adventure, would you like to come?"

"Mudkiippp!" Oberon excitedly agreed, and with that, Han and Oberon started their adventure.

Stepping out of your hometown into the wild was a good feeling. You made it, you became a Pokémon trainer. The next town wasn’t that far of a walk but there was a forest in the way that you’d have to explore.
You and Oberon went into the forest excited but that only caused you to fail to notice a small Happiny in front of you. You accidentally bumped it with your foot. It let out a cry like a baby and jumped up and down at you having a temper tantrum

"Mudkip!!" Han was alert, feeling the sharpness of an object knocked,
somewhat harshly, against her foot. The cries of Oberon pulled her back
into it, and she looked over what she had just hit. Han gazed at the vag
─uely familiar pink pokemon, with pink rosy cheeks doting over a safe a
─nd snug egg. She reached for her pokedex as she watched the pokemon
yell up and down at her.

"Mudkiiip..." Oberon softly whined, looking between the two of them. He was naturally apprehensive of the situation, perhaps even scared to engage in combat. Hovering her pokedex over the unknown and most definitely agitated pokemon. "This Pokemon is a Happiny-" the pokedex started, and then going more in depth about the pokemon.

Han made a mental note for now, and got on her knees to talk to the pokemon. "Hey there, I understand you're upset Happiny, especially as I could have hurt your baby, if you want to have a battle over this I understand." Oberon looked over at Han on the word battle, it was clear to her the pokemon hadn't seen much of it and craved the ability to finally prove himself. Han looked over to him and gave him a soft smile.

"Ah, Yeeees!" Fade squealed, jumping up and down in excitement. "I caught such a cutie!"
Chimchar, being jostled around on her shoulder, lets out a squeak of surprise and leaps back onto the safety of the ground.
"Ah, Sorry, I got a bit excited there..." Fade mumbles, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment.
She continues on into the woods near her hometown, pushing her way through the underbrush. She withdraws ChimChar, as it seems to be having some trouble with the harsh terrain. She peeks curiously into every bush, her face dropping every time the bushes are empty. She eventually reaches some curious ruins.
"Ah... didn't know these were here!" She pipes up, sticking her head into the dark stone building.

Peaking into the dark building you see glowing yellow eyes staring back at you and a low growl begins to erupt from the building. You stumble backwards as it jumps out of the building defending its home in the ruins. You recognize the grey fluffy creature as a Poochyena

Yeah so in a battle we take turns picking moves for the Pokémon but I prefer to make them quick like 2-3 replies as I tend to focus more on story but if you prefer to go more in depth on battles let me know ^^
Also don’t worry about your dyslexia, it doesn’t bother me. One of my very clothes friends has it so I understand

The Happiny nods accepting your challenge. It jumped back getting into position for a fight. It was known that Happiny weren’t really one for battles but.. this one seemed a bit on the feisty side

Fade Stumbles back as the poochyena leaps at her, screeching loudly. She grasps the first Pokeball she can find from her pocket, and sends out Cleffa.
"U-Um- So wild pokemon will give you Exp right?" She asks, and Happiny nods its' head, looking rather terrified in the face of the dark type.
Fade looks nervously at the growling animal, before clenching her fists, and with a flourish, points at the poochyena.
"I challenge you to a battle, poochyena!" She announces, "Cleffa, use pound!"
Cleffa hesitates a moment, but after it gets a reassuring smile from Fade, throws itself at the Wolf-like pokemon, releasing a pound attack.

The pokeball shook once... twice... the third time.. ding! It was caught!
