Rainstar stared at the lonely sight: his clan. Because of two unfortunate circumstances; the greencough pandemic and the death of his leader, he was the only cat left. He walked towards the fresh kill pile, noticing that the pile of food had rotted. He cleared up the food and went hunting. It was a good distraction for a while but it wasn't enough to completely lift his spirits. Then he remembered the cats that would always there: Starclan. He trudged his way to the tree field, not caring about the unconfortable debris that ocaionally pinched his paws. Finally he got to the tree field. He walked towards The Spirit Tree, a special tree that had stones around it. He clawed his way up the tree. After catching his breath he spoke to Starclan. "Hello Starclan. I'm completely alone now, I don't know how I'll manage everything.... Rainstar recalled a story that he knew well "I know that Dandelion was in the same situation and that gives me hope. Please help me Starclan, I'd like to request a deputy"

run, like fear on swift feet.

the brown tabby tom leaped over a jutting boulder, fleet as the wind. The cold lashed him, the crackling of branches formed a mocking laugh. obstacles loomed out of the blue, keeping him guessing. his breath rasped harshly against his throat, a combination of adrenaline, fear and exertion.

there was no hope for him. they seemed to whisper. he will die out here, forgotten in the frost. fear and guilt-no hurt- knocked at his ribs in a wild rhythm. the mountains were painfully cold at all seasons, such that most of the cats with thick(er) pelts were the more fortunate and accustomed to the chill. it had been the greatest shock for young ospreypaw, considering that he had come from a warmer environment to the east. that miserable portend had only spelled his fate for him, and now...here he was, running - or being chased rather judging by the two guards on his tail - from the place he used to call 'home' and the cats he used to call 'family.'

the two cats behind him were fleet-footed and fit - ibisstrut with her white and black pelt and piercing blue-orange heterochromatic eyes and the mysterious lostriver, who'd only agreed to exile the apprentice in order to save his own hide. while they were both more agile and more able runners, they were not aiming to sink their claws or fangs into him. the fear they instilled within their target was enough to keep him running. they wanted him gone.

when harppaw had told him in a hushed voice that he would be facing exile, ospreypaw had been in shock. had he seriously failed? again? at least he was better than coleuspaw's curt silence or lotuspaw's ignorant treatment. ospreypaw was certain that the only reason they were not facing exile was because blackstar wished to preserve a suitable heir to his throne. preserve his son, and train him to be as ruthless and cruel as he. no care of consequences.

the ground dropped abruptly, and the young brown tom abruptly stumbled to the left, or half-stumbled half ran down the steep slope. he didn't dare to look behind him, lest he receive a claw-swipe to the eye he turned back. fear turned his eyes back, showing their whites. on the top of the slope, the two storm-guards stopped their chase, standing proud with their head high to watch the former cadet run.

"who could've mistaken that lean form and wide eyes for a soldier with brazen pride?" ibisstrut asked her companion softly, her thick tail flicking back and forth as she turned her blue-orange optics toward the tom. "i do not know what the lord was thinking, yet it is not in my place to question his judgement."

Weather: Days are starting to grow slightly shorter and a cold is in the morning and night air. Leaves are starting to change their color. It wont be long now till prey becomes less abundant and predators will start to be around more.

As you all have may noticed CaC has its very own lineart! The lines were created by the very talented Grey_Hoodie and are being colored in by various other mods, mini mods and the CaC artists. Allowing us to use the lineart for your cats lets us give more unique patterns as we are limited to free to use pictures. If you want your cats to be transferred onto the lineart all you have to do is get in contact with a mod and the team will take care of it.

I have also noticed that a lot of you have not been adding pebbles correctly. Remember, every post you make you get four pebbles automatically. Patrols will sometimes bring back extra pebbles they find as well! Pebbles can be used here at the cac store anytime!

Hunting
Araignéepounce, Twilightpounce, Raventalon, Spectacledsalamander, Pikachoo, and Belettetwist's patrol passed uneventfully.
Agrentéhop, Loonfrost, Chasmeyes, Versaillesheart, Blaireauface, and Crabewhistle ran into a hostile rogue group that was close to camp. It was a good thing they your cats found them as they wanted to kitnap some kits! The patrol chased them out of camp after a little tussle, Agrentéhop took a fatal wound and died later that night.
Brouillardheart, Lunestorm, Rookwhisker, Freuxfreckle, Patisseriedew, and Bébéecho returned to camp with a rather noisy Patisseriedew, they were complaining about the wind in their eyes and how dry they felt. Sounds like an excuse to take a nap to the other warriors.

Patrolling
Coatiheart, Boarshine, Mericibubble, Flûtesong, Gannetsong, and Genetshade caught two shrews and a bird.
Richterscreech, Raviolinose, Grincheuxsnarl, Grognoneyes, Sopranocavern, and Martenskip caught two mice and a stoat.
Orangeray, Abeillefeather, Lumiéreblink, Threeleg, L'eautwitch, and Mistysoul caught two birds.

Horizonstar used up one yarrow but it did not work as she lost all her lives. Due to the link Aspstar also died.
Morningwhisper, Flamingonose, and Goldenpoint will all die. However you can save one with yarrow.

BirchClan

Territory: a spread out birch forest with a medium amount of undergrowth. Their camp is a hollow about fox length deep and each den has been individually dug by the cats of BirchClan. The underground dens have rocks at the entrance to keep out rain from flooding in. They also often fish in small ponds around the territory.

Personalities: Most cats in BirchClan quite adventurious and very stealth. They welcome in most cats but are wary of them for their first few nights.

Floppyears frowned slightly as she watched her kittens playing. Ever since they had been born, it was like Springkit and Flipkit were just naturally overprotective of Bouncekit. No mother wanted to admit there was something wrong with her kits, but...there was something about her daughter that didn't feel quite right.

"Bouncekit," Floppyears called "Bouncekit, can you come here?"

It took a moment for the kits to stop playing, and then when they did, Springkit flicked Bouncekit with her tail. The prick-eared she-kit turned to her sister curiously, and only looked over to Floppyears when Springkit nodded her head in their mother's direction.

Floppyears' heart sank. "Bouncekit," she said softly when the little one made her way closer "Can you go and find Cherrydroplet for me?"

"I can mama!" Flipkit blurted quickly. "No, Flipkit, I want Bouncekit to." Floppyears said, turning her head to her son. Flipkit and Springkit exchanged a glance. "But mama," Flipkit said with a frown "Bouncekit can't hear you when you tell her what you want her to do."

Springkit nodded "Yeah, you have to show her." she added. "We're trying to make up signs, but me and Flipkit haven't figured out names yet."

Floppyears closed her eyes. Her fears were confirmed. "Thank you..." she said softly. "For telling me. Flipkit, Springkit, can you...can you promise me something?"

"Of course mama!" Springkit said happily, her folded ears pricking towards Floppyears. "What?"

"I want you two, to promise, that you will help your sister, always. You'll protect her, and you'll be her ears. Help her hear the world, so that the world can hear her."

"We promise mama!" Flipkit said, beaming up at the queen. "We won't let anything bad happen to Bouncekit ever!"

Floppyears smiled, and watched as the kittens returned to their game. Rising to her paws, Floppyears sighed, and turned towards Cherrydroplet's den. The medicine cat would need to know of this development. And...and so would Lotusstar.

Floppyears just prayed that the leader wouldn't force her daughter into a life she hated, just because she couldn't hear.
