Newleaf- Leafbare was long and harsh, claiming the lives of many Clan cats and even prey. Just as prey started to become nearly impossible to find, the clouds parted and the sun shined down for the first time in moons. The prey has come out to greet the sun and melting snow, coaxing the Clan cats out of their camps as well.

leader description: an all black she-cat with the exception of a white patch on her right shoulder. her eyes are yellow and she is very sleek.
clan description: a group of loners that came together to form a clan under the rules of starclan itself. silhouclan consists of mostly dark colored cats with bright eyes that sparkle. they take pride in being sleek yet muscular underneath, and are not easily knocked down from the metaphorical throne.
clan base: this clan's base is located beneath the lining of thick, bristly bushes somewhere in the east of south korea. the path from beneath the bushes leads to a clearing right beside a slow moving river. the cats have made nests within the bushes surrounding the clearing- the elders' nests are lined with soft moss and have been cleared of any straggling branches by the apprentices. the warriors sleep and stay in a similar sort of nest, though it is a bit larger to accomodate to all the cats. apprentice den is just like the warriors den, and the queens' dens are individual when expected to give birth or nursing. they are much like the elders' den in the fact that they are lined with the softest moss found from the riverside. the leader den is on the opposite side of the clearing and is simile in size and shape to the elders' den. in the clearing are a few rocks, one rather large- on this stone, the leader yowls for their clan to come forth. and from the stone, the sun shines across the river, casting a silhouette of the leader across all the other cats.

Briarkit peered up at Goldenstar, eyes wide with mock innocence. "I don't know what Moorkit's on about," she fibbed. "As if I would ever take their feathers! I have my own, see." And with that, she stepped aside to display a mossy nest, lined with downy, white-and-fawn coloured feathers. Moorkit stiffened beside Heatherpelt, "Those are my feathers! You stole them. Chivepaw found them in the hedgerow. It's not fair!" they wailed. Heatherpelt bent down to lick their head, while Briarkit huffed indignantly. "So what? I deserve them, I'm the heir." "No, you're not," a new voice cut in, and Briarkit shot a glare at Chivepaw. "You're not. I've heard of Clans with that grossly unfair leadership system, but this is not one of them. Give Moorkit back their feathers, I got them for them." Moorkit nodded defiantly, greatly relieved that their brother had appeared.

Briarkit shot a look at Chivepaw, but dragged the feather's out of her nest with a sigh. "Fine, peasant." She threw the feather's at them, scowling when a screech echoed through their camp. "Flood!" Fernpaw howled, fur bristling. Maplepaw swarmed after her, closely followed by the rest of their patrol. "Flood," Foggyprance gasped breathlessly, as Lemonstar ran up to them. Heatherpelt hustled Moorkit out of the camp, eyes bright with fear. Junipermuzzle, her stomach already swollen with kits, followed, and Almondpaws ran up to her, face drawn with concern. Goldenwing dragged Briarkit after them, bombarding Foggyprance with questions. "What about the hunting patrol? Is Hawkwhisker okay?"

Sedgewatcher huddled close to Foggyprance, curling his tail around his mate's. He looked blank, not even hearing Goldenwing. But Briarkit hustled over to him and peered up. "What about Dad?" she meowed, looking around for the massive, fluffy tom. "Ahhh," Sedgewatcher trailed off, feeling himself flush and begin to sweat underneath his fur. "Lemonstar..? What about the other patrols?" Lemonstar looked up from where she had started talking about evacuation. "We wait for them to return. We're not evacuating until tomorrow, at least. The water wasn't that close, right Almondpaws?" Almondpaws nodded seriously.

"Goldenwing!" A well-built tom burst into the camp. "Briarkit! Flood!" Goldenwing wove around her mate, ears pricked anxiously. "We know, we know. Foggyprance returned." Briarkit bumbled over, her whiskers twitching excitedly. "We have to evacuate the nursery, and if it comes too fast maybe the whole camp!" She bounded past her parents, charging towards the camp exit. Junipermuzzle and Heatherpelt herded Moorkit between them after her, assuming it was time to evacuate. Moorkit hopped ahead, passing Briarkit too.

But their high-pitched screech came back to Heatherpelt. She hollered in distress and pounded after them, when Briarkit dashed between her legs, closely followed by a wall of water. It crashed against the camp walls, sweeping slowly through the brambles. It would hold for now, at least. Junipermuzzle snatched Briarkit up and dashed back towards Goldenwing. Briarkit mewled in anguish. Hawkwhisker bustled his mate and kit towards the entrance, as Junipermuzzle let Briarkit down. She crouched, panting heavily. Almondpaws ran over and huddled next to her, helping her up.

Heatherpelt's yowls roared through all the cat's ears. Lemonstar and Foggyprance rushed over to her, trying to rush her away. But Moorkit wasn't there. Chivepaw padded over too, panicked. He burst through the thorn barrier and into the water, he splashed to the top, which was surprisingly easy, he having not learnt to swim yet, and swam his way towards his sibling's scent. But as he caught sight of the tiny kit clinging to a branch just above the rising water he was swept under.

A pair of strong jaws grasped Chivepaw's scruff, and he was thrown out of the water. He landed on a tree branch, coughing and choking, and craned his neck to see Lemonstar swimming strongly towards Moorkit. His waterlogged ears just about made out his sibling's terrified mews, and his heart pounded with longing to save them. He scrambled further onto the branch and huddled their, dripping wet. Heatherpelt watched from below as Lemonstar perched on top of the clan's high walls, about to leap for Moorkit. As she did so, her tail caught against the thorns in the wall, and although she scooped up Moorkit she sent both herself and the kit tumbling into the thrashing floodwater.

Foggyprance hustled over to Heatherpelt, taking on the role of deputy. "Koipuddle!" he called. "You're a good swimmer. Try and rescue them!" Heatherpelt curled into a ball, her breath catching. "Chivepaw," Foggyprance meowed, "Can you get down?" Shivering, Chivepaw nodded and crawled back into the camp. Heatherpelt looked up and immediately began to dry his fur by licking it backwards. Sparkgaze looked like she was about to step in, but thought better of it. "Alright Heatherpelt," Foggyprance purred soothingly. "Sparkgaze will take you and Chivepaw to safety."

Just then, Koipuddle appeared at the top of the Camp walls. He was wheezing terribly, and Berrytoes' eyes narrowed in worry. But the calico tom had both Lemonstar and Moorkit grasped in his jaws, and he dragged himself down the bramble barrier to where Sparkgaze was hovering over Heatherpelt. Lemonstar's head lolled against the ground, but she was breathing - just. Sparkgaze ran over and began pumping her chest, making the leader sputter and heave. She coughed up a feeble amount of water, and Heatherpelt began to wash Moorkit's fur backwards as well. Twigpaw decided to intervene and explained, "Sparkgaze says that will let the cold air get into their skin and make them catch a chill."

Lemonstar lay still. Her eyes closed in a trance-like manner, and Sparkgaze moved on to Moorkit, who was in a surprisingly good condition. They'd already vomited up water, twice, and was now huddled by Heatherpelt, shivering. Sparkgaze shrugged. "The most we can do is wrap them in warmth. Make sure they get a good sleep and they should be totally fine."

Lemonstar, however, was not fine. As Sparkgaze turned back, Lemonstar was just stirring and Heatherpelt had jerked upright in surprise. "She's not dead!" Lemonstar shivered but shook her head. "That was the first life I lost. But I have eight left." Heatherpelt blinked in confusion, but eventually just buried her head in the other molly's chest. Briarkit watched in amazement. "I thought for sure Lemonstar was gonna die. You must be a great medicine cat." Sparkgaze shook her head and began to explain, when Heatherpelt's panicked shriek sent her running.

"They're coughing! Wheezing! They can't breath!!" Indeed, Moorkit was bent double, coughing and choking on more water. Sparkgaze winced and called frantically to Twigpaw. "Fetch tansy!" The apprentice did as they were told, and soon returned with a couple leaves. Sparkgaze ordered them to chew it up, and once they'd done so inserted it into Moorkit's mouth. She tilted their head back and massaged their throat to get them to swallow. Soon enough Moorkit began to calm down, their breathing slowed to a normal rate, and Heatherpelt let Sparkgaze lead her and Moorkit away- it was time to evacuate.

A pattern was starting to emerge in TwistedClan. While the cats did not know the direct causes of deaths, even the apprentices could tell that something eerie was occurring. Spottednose’s vigil was held in uneasy silence, cats spreading out in little clusters rather than sitting close by the body. Morningstar was the only one with her face pressed in her friend’s stiff fur. She did not heed the warning from Galalight. “The dead are dying for a reason,” The sole medicine cat hissed. “We might not know the reason but that doesn’t mean completely ignore it!” Morningstar only dismissed her with a sharp glare and tail whip. She wasn’t getting any younger and if need be, she could spare a life to honor her friend. But it didn’t come to that.

“Let all cats able to climb a tree gather here below!” Morningstar’s voice cracked from no use. She still wasn’t really in the mood for talking but normal clan-life must go on. It was unfortunate that Dovepaw didn’t pass her final exam, but she was sure with another moon of finetuning with Crowtalon, Dovepaw would receive her warrior name very soon. That didn’t stop the feisty molly from sulking away from her siblings and Rainsong. Sunchaser gave Dovepaw a stern look from his place at the base of the Ceremony Tree that clearly said suck it up. Patchpaw was the first to approach Morningstar. “Patchpaw, do you promise to uphold TwistedClan’s traditions and to protect the Clan with your life?” She called from the Ceremony Tree.
“I do.” Patchpaw said.
“Then, I give you your warrior name, Patchnose. Remember that to always follow your gut.” She rested her muzzle on his forehead, and Petalpaw replaced him. “Petalpaw, do you promise to uphold TwistedClan’s traditions and to protect the Clan with your life?”
“I do.” Petalpaw said.”
“Then, I give you your warrior name, Petalfall. Remember that taking a break is sometimes the best option.” TwistedClan called their new names as she rested her muzzle on Petalfall. “Go easy on Dovepaw.” She murmured. “I’m sure she’s frustrated.” Petalfall blinked and joined her brother on the ground. Morningstar stayed on her branch watching the Clan cheering happily. Her Clan. Would they even survive this? Could they pull through?

“Hey.” Graybelly softly jabbed Minnowflash. “I’m not stupid, you know.”
Minnowflash raised a brow. “I never said that.” He licked her ear. “What are you talking about?”
“I see the way you look at her.” Graybelly had followed Minnowflash’s line of sight. “If you love her instead, go after her.” She said gently.
“I don’t.” Minnowflash choked out. “I only have eyes for you, Graybelly.”
“And eventually another molly that catches your eye?” Graybelly softly smiled. She had known him long enough to realize that his heart would never be fully hers. But, she did figure she could settle with loving him for however long he could.
He stuttered. “That’s not necessarily true.”
“It’s okay. We don’t have to define ourselves.” Graybelly leaned into him. “Just know that I do love you.” She felt a sharp pain of hurt when he didn’t say ‘I love you’ back but wasn’t surprised either.

“Sunchaser? I don’t mean to interrupt anything, but may I have a word?” Galalight asked quietly. Marsh still overheard, but she figured the old cat would leave them alone. She was in fact wrong as it seemed Marsh would take no hints of social awareness. Or perhaps he noticed but just did not care. Now that Galalight thought about it, she figured it was the latter. Sunchaser rose to follow her to a more secluded area but stopped him when Marsh also got to his feet. “Whatever.” She was too tired to deal with this now. He knew what really happened with Briarwhisper anyway. “Let’s talk here.”
“Please tell me this is good news.” Sunchaser looked many moons older than he was. Becoming deputy of TwistedClan at this point of time was a stressful job.
“Unfortunately, it is not.” Galalight said.
“Is it ‘bout Spottednose?” Marsh drawled. “I’m old, not dumb.” He added when Galalight shot him a surprised glance.
“Well…yes.” She started slowly. “Spottednose did not die in his sleep. He ate a deathberry.”
“This sounds like information that Morningstar needs to hear.” Sunchaser stopped her.
“I think she will need to know in time but not right now.” Galalight picked her words carefully. “It’s not very pleasant to process, and she is still heavily grieving.” She got a nod allowing her to continue. “He was infected with whatever Briarwhisper caught. And probably what Wolfclaw and Sagefeather had. Maybe even Cloudpaw. It seemed that he experienced all of their general complaints: headache, body aches, dehydration. He didn’t seem…completely all together for a few days before he…well. And that day it was a lot worse. It wasn’t like he forgot what he was doing at times, he didn’t seem to even recognize me. That might be why Briarwhisper did attack Spottednose if she was that sick.”
“I-I’m sure that’s good information to know for treating cats, but how is this going to help the rest of us?” Sunchaser sounded strained.
“It gives us something to look out for. I don’t have any way of treating something we still don’t understand. Honestly the most effective herb so far was the deathberry!” Her voice was getting shriller.
“If I can put my two cents in…” Marsh ignored the annoyed looks and continued. “…when I was a young lad livin’ in some trees, I reckon as this forest. By was some grassland…or maybe the prairie? Hm, I don’t particularly recall, but I reckon it’s not very important. Anyway, there was a period o’ time where both prey an’ predator would jus’ go outta their minds. Cats would go mental on family. Prey would be dead on the ground an’ no one was eating ‘em. No one knew who would get The Craze next. The symptoms are somewhat similar.” Marsh finished his story.
“What did you do?” Galalight didn’t realize she was whispering. “What happened to the forest?”
“Everything was dead or moved.” Marsh said quietly. “No one could figure out the cause or how to fix the crazed. I moved to a hilly valley. I was probably around twenty moons ol’ then and haven’t seen anything like that since. Thought I would never again.”
“What does that mean for us?”
“Time will tell.”

Prey has started to reemerge, as well as certain cats, and the clans are more likely to run into each as the Earth renews itself. Your dens are automatically upgraded to fit your populace, including the kits you just received this reply, to the nearest five (rounding up) in the case of 'low' ranks. I suggest making a small note next to each rank how many spots you have in your den plus the number of posts it has been since you repaired them. clan name: silhouclan (would rhyme with willowclan)
leader name: blackstar
leader description: an all black she-cat with the exception of a white patch on her right shoulder. her eyes are yellow and she is very sleek.
clan description: a group of loners that came together to form a clan under the rules of starclan itself. silhouclan consists of mostly dark colored cats with bright eyes that sparkle. they take pride in being sleek yet muscular underneath, and are not easily knocked down from the metaphorical throne.
clan base: this clan's base is located beneath the lining of thick, bristly bushes somewhere in the east of south korea. the path from beneath the bushes leads to a clearing right beside a slow moving river. the cats have made nests within the bushes surrounding the clearing- the elders' nests are lined with soft moss and have been cleared of any straggling branches by the apprentices. the warriors sleep and stay in a similar sort of nest, though it is a bit larger to accomodate to all the cats. apprentice den is just like the warriors den, and the queens' dens are individual when expected to give birth or nursing. they are much like the elders' den in the fact that they are lined with the softest moss found from the riverside. the leader den is on the opposite side of the clearing and is simile in size and shape to the elders' den. in the clearing are a few rocks, one rather large- on this stone, the leader yowls for their clan to come forth. and from the stone, the sun shines across the river, casting a silhouette of the leader across all the other cats.
