Sagecloud's cries could be heard throughout the entirety of Ravenclan territory. Her sobs shook her whole frame as she stood over her unconscious son. Redthorn paced nearby, a new rip in his skin, bright scarlet blood matting into his cheek fur. The medicine cat had attempted to get close to Leopardpaw, everyone had at this point but the frantic mother attacked anyone that tried, "Don't touch him! You'll hurt him more then he already is!" she screeched into the camp. Everyone watched in agony the site was too painful to look away from. Only Maplepaw was held together. Not by hate for the other apprentice or apathy but by pure shock. Her face was torn, minor when compared to the still body of Leopardpaw. The spotted tom was a wreck. One of his hind legs was gone, he had a gash on his shoulder and his tail looked broken but those were only the major injuries. The rest of his pelt was shredded with small cuts and you could hardly tell he had those remarkable spots to begin with.

Redthorn approached again, "Please, Sagecloud," he begged, his tone frantic and worried, "If I don't care for him soon he'll never be able to return to warrior duties." he hesitated, pain welling in his eyes, "He may never return at all."

Sagecloud turned on the medicine cat, pure rage on her slightly squashed features, "Back off!" she screamed. Her green eyes glittered with fury, "Don't you dare hur-" the breath was taken from Sagecloud's lungs as Zinniathorn barreled into her. The tortie couldn't help herself any longer and she pinned the enraged female down as best she could. Quickly after Stormjaw came hurtling towards them to help, "Hurry, Redthorn, take him!" the male yowled as Sagecloud writhed under her clanmate's paws. Redthorn grabbed Leopardpaw by the scruff and pulled him into the old set, down the tunnels and into his own little burrow.

It took a long time for Sagecloud to finally calm. By the time she did Zinniathorn and Stormjaw both had their fair share of gashes and missing patches of fur. When finally the two warriors let go of Sagecloud she instantly turned to Maplepaw, "What happened!? Why would you let this happen, I thought you two loved each other!?" the older she-cat half sobbed toward the younger calico.

Maplepaw looked at Sagecloud with deep pain in her eyes and swallowed hard, "I did.. do.. Sagecloud. I do." She searched Sagecloud's gaze before she continued, "He snuck us out of camp for a fun day.. We were just playing on this rock, practicing our hunting crouch when..." the tiny calico shook with a held in sob and her claws sunk into the earth to ground herself, "A wolf." she whispered.

The surrounding cats gasped lightly. "A wolf?" "She said wolf!" "There's a wolf near camp?!" could be heard all around. With every mention of the word Maplepaw's poor body shook in terror more. Sagecloud finally caught onto the cause of her son's pain and she turned on the surrounding cats, "Shut up! All of you! Get out of here!" The mother curled herself around Maplepaw and licked her head, "It's okay, darling, I understand. He'll be fine."

Lyrasong stood very close to her child and nodded lightly, "Listen to her, my dear, it will all be alright." The two queens huddled around Maplepaw, encasing her in nothing more then love and care. All that could happen now was wait.. wait and hope that Leopardpaw would live...

Pebblegaze could feel her heart pounding in her ears. Not out of fear or terror but instead excitement. Today was the day. Today she could finally move forward with her plans. Now that those accursed kits were free from her she could do what she please... and what she pleased was dethroning Nightstar. A lip pulled skyward at the thought of the pitch black tom, teeth shining in the dark moonlight. Her ears picked up a sound as she snapped her attention in a different direction - a cat? She was far beyond Ravenclan territory, who knew what could be out here.

The snow-blanketed molly’s hackles raised at the intruder’s coarse pelage and she let out a threatening hiss. She didn’t attack- perhaps because there was a milky scent to the molly- and Octavia had a special weakness for kits. “You’re on Azgeda territory, and I suggest you leave before I make you.”

Pebblegaze flinched lightly and instantly regretted it - she was to be a leader! How dare she flinch at some stranger. The dilute calico lifted her head, "I seek help." She let a wry grin crack on her features, "Help ruining a clan, if you know what those are.. I wish to steal the power away from them." Her paws worked the ground under her for a moment as she considered what else to say to this female who obviously knew how to deal with danger. "I can offer a kit as payment." she blurted, not sure if she'd regret it or not.

There was silence for a moment as Octavia took in the queen’s offer. “I’m close to nursing my own kits. I could take them in, under the condition they would never know their true parents or lineage. They would be mine.” She rolled her shoulders, her eyes blinking at the molly. “What can I do to help?”

The she-cat perked up and her grin morphed into a delighted smile, "That's an easy deal, you can have him." At the question of how to help Pebblegaze looked at the sky momentarily, "I think a better question is how can't you help. I have a few followers who could use some extra battle training - do you know how to fight dirty?" Gaze again on the molly in front of her she chuckled lightly, "Of course, I'd also expect you to help me with the whole.. killing him part. I can lure him out here and you could have your fun?"

Octavia grimaced slightly, her eyes narrowed in a suspicious gesture. “I do not kill without reason, but I have an assassin who could kill him mercilessly. Her name is Skairipa, and she would gladly get rid of your problem if her commander asked it.” She paused, swiveling her tail. “Bring the kit, and I’ll bring Skairipa. She can train your clan in ways of Trikru, which are battle techniques we no longer use. They will help you defeat your leader.”

Pebblegaze nodding in agreement and whisked herself away, back to camp. By the time she returned the whole camp was asleep and only Leopardpaw's pained wheezing could be heard from the medicine cat's den. Slinking into the nursery she snatched up the one tom she had no care for and hurried away before the kit could begin it's troublesome mewling. She found Octavia again in the same spot and offered the kit at her paws. With the kit given the two agreed upon a date. Within a couple of moons everything would begin and this Skairipa would train them all. As Pebblegaze hurried back to her own camp she could resist the grin the laid on her face.

The brown tabby she-cat slunk along the shadowed allies, pelt sticking sickeningly to her bones. The orange and white tom next to her jumped as a rat skittered across the ally, paying them no mind. The she-cat rolled her eyes, "calm down, mouse brain, a rat won't kill us." The tom gave her a baffled look, "Dirt died," he paused to emphasize his point, "from a rat. Besides, we're running away, what if it had been someone chasing after us?"

Another long sigh escaped the she-cat and she shook her head, "stop mourning that lump of camel dung, he's been dead for nearly eight moons." The male looked back in shock, "Trash!" He hissed, surprised at the comment. Trash scoffed, "Yeah, yeah, I've heard it a million times, he was your best friend."

Trash pushed passed her make companion to keep the duo moving and the orange tom hurried along. They paused at a puddle hidden in the shadows and took a long drink.

A voice piped up behind them, "Do you need a home?" Jerboastar sat at the end of the ally, head tilted curiously. Trash admired how healthy he appeared before she spoke, "maybe. Who are you?" Jerboastar cracked a grin as he bowed his head, "Jerboastar of Eanakhclan."

Without hesitation Trash nodded, "we'll come." Her companion sputtered in surprise but the she-cat ignored him.

Jerboastar seemed pleased, "I'm sure Ra will welcome you both. As well as Sunstar. What are your names?"

"They called me Trash. This is Twelve." She gestured toward the orange tom.

Jerboastar grunted, "you'll receive new names from either the gods or our ancestors as our tradition shall become. Now come along."

Weather - Green-Leaf
Summer. Summer starts with little warning.
One day, intense rain falls cover the clans' lands, and the
next, the sun blazes down on them instead.
The sudden brightness quickly dries up the puddles and
flooding that many clans have encountered, but the extent
of them means some floods can still be found.
Additionally, the sudden brilliant heat means that forest
fires are beginning to break out among the hotter clans.
Of course, some days are still colder than others, but for
most, the sun is certainly proving its fiery reputation.
Prey can feel the heat too, and fortunately, most clans
send out their patrols in mornings and evenings, the only
time that the prey can bear during the day.
Some mothers might be exhausted by the heat, but certainly
their kittings should still be faring well for a while.

With hunger clawing at him, Cannastar very beegrudingly gave the rat to the rogue and the medicine cat; inwardly, he knew they deserved it but another part of him cursed them for striking up those unfair deals, even if one was starving to death and the other bleeding out from her wound. ''You better appreciate the sacrifice I'm making for you too.'' murmured Cannastar, nose raised in pride at his own courtesy.

''That's why they gave you nine lives.'' Embergaze remarked, swallowing his mouthful. ''So you could feed us.'' The tortoiseshell dipped his head as he finished up his lunch, returning to the poultice on the rogues' leg. ''This will heal soon, just don't move around.'' Embergaze murmured. ''You'll probably have to rest.''

The rogue watched Cannastar quietly. ''Your sacrifice has been acknowledged.'' She snarked, tail twitching. ''The name's Vulture, and as soon as I can walk...'' The tabby glanced forlornly at the wound on her neck, earned from a vicious tussle with a jackal. ''..I'll hunt for you two.'' Vulture promised, dipping her head gratefully. ''Wouldn't want you starving to death.'' Vulture motioned to Cannastar, with a soft sigh.

''I'm grateful.'' Cannastar smiled at the rogue. ''Thank you, darling.''

Last Moon
Stormstrike burst into camp with even more excitement than usual. Morningstar did not know how he was always so full of energy. Following behind him timidly was a small white cat with soft spots. For a second, Morningstar thought the cat must have been the deputy she had previously asked for, but after closer look, the cat wasn't just small, she was young. She was also trembling.
"I found her by the border," Stormstrike murmured in Morningstar's ear. "She's alone and quite scared. I said we'd help her."
When Morningstar took a step closer, the young cat shrunk into Stormstrike's side. "No, it's okay." He softly reassured her. "She's the one I was telling you about. You can trust her." He stepped sideways but was still within a tail's reach of her. The cat slowly met Morningstar's gaze.
"What's your name?" Morningstar was grateful that her warrior had befriended this little one. The Clan needed fresh, trainable faces.
"I-I don't know," Her voice was so quiet, they had to lean in to hear. "No one needed to call me anything before."
"But she would like to live in TwistedClan and receive a warrior name eventually." Stormstrike helped her out by adding this information. At this point, Spottednose's curiosity got the better of him, and he joined the group which caused the cat to start trembling all over again.
"She seems healthy enough," Spottednose sniffed. "Young but nicely built."
"This is Spottednose." Morningstar shot him a glance that clearly said "Stop talking". He rolled his eyes lightheartedly and went off to hunt for herbs. "Right now," Morningstar continued and addressed the newcomer, "you will be an apprentice to Stormstrike. Until you become a warrior, you shall be known as Rainpaw."
She didn't know which cat looked happier with this announcement, Stormstrike or Rainpaw.

Meanwhile ~It's herb time with Spottednose!~
Spottednose discovered that traveling along the lowest branches and horizontally grown trunks made spotted different plants easier. A corner cut was a moon saved in his mind. As his eyes were scanning the ground for important plants, he was hoping that Rainpaw stuck with being a warrior. While she was timid, she also was built better for fighting and not for remembering different medicines. Shaking his head, he revisited the herb stock in his mind. He was proud of his previous finds but there was always room for more, especially if the Clan was growing. Thankfully, he spotted a newly sprouting comfrey plant sheltered near a cedar tree. Spottednose didn't collect very much of it, leaving plenty to grow back, but was still satisfied when another bush caught his eye.
Deathberries! He thought. He knew what those berries were right away, of course. Growing up, he had witnessed a squirrel finding one in the snow, and it must have been starving because it gobbled it right up. The squirrel had keeled over dead a few moments later. While debating whether or not to destroy the entire bush or not, deathberries in the territory was just a tragedy waiting to happen, footsteps from behind him caused him to whirl around. He dropped his earlier herb finds and raised his haunches.
"Hello there," A silky voice said, and a golden tabby stepped into the clearing. "I am Copperleaf."
Spottednose guessed that was some sort of a warrior name but didn't know if that was better or worse. "And?" He prompted. While his first instinct is always to talk, he was put on guard standing next to the deathberry bush.
"StarClan sent me to help lead your Clan." Copperleaf had some sort of a caring radiance about her that Spottednose automatically didn't like.
"Well, they must have been wrong," Spottednose didn't like disrespecting StarClan like that but he can apologize later tonight. This cat needed to get told. "We already have a leader!"
Copperleaf chuckled. "Of course, but I will be her deputy." Spottednose did remember Morningstar asking StarClan for a deputy, and he did figure one more cat could help fill the fresh-kill pile.
"Alright, follow me." Spottednose gathered his comfrey back in his mouth along with a small pair of deathberries. You know, just in case this new deputy didn't work out. Copperleaf was welcomed heartily back at TwistedClan.

Present
Copperleaf was fitting well into the Clan. Spottednose hadn't poisoned her yet, so that was also a good sign. The medicine cat did inform Morningstar of his plan just in case, but she wasn't too worried. Spottednose had a good heart, however lazy it may like to be. For now, the deathberries were stashed in the very back of the bushes along the medicine den to hopefully prevent accidents. While Morningstar doubted poison in camp was necessarily the best idea, perhaps it would come in handy later. Stormstrike was also a great match to mentor Rainpaw. She was turning into an eager apprentice and enjoyed learning the aspects of Clan life.
Overall, Morningstar thought as she closed her eyes in content, it has been a very successful start to TwistedClan.

Greenleaf- The sudden cold breeze quickly gives way to the blazing sun of Greenleaf. Just because it's the first day of the new season doesn't mean it's gonna go easy on you. The heat is making even the most active cats doze off and the rivers and lakes are already starting to shrink.
