Tigerlily was close behind, and she said "Look, I don't care if you're the big macho leader. You're hurt, you need to take care of yourself." Reedstar sighed and replied "And you need to not worry so much. I'm just going to get some prey."

Tigerlily made a noise of exasperation. "Toms!"

weather: leaf-bare.
during leaf-bare, the chances of catching greencough is higher. if you send the same cat out multiple times in the same post, they are more likely to catch a cold, which can lead to whitecough and greencough, so be careful. after your cat catches a cold, don't send them out for two posts, or their cold will progress to whitecough or greencough. the sun will start to go down early and it will get colder once the sun starts to go down. you will also catch less prey and are less likely to find new cats.

"Come on Russet! We're nearly there!" Swiftsky cheered, his green eyes willing for the old cat to move faster. A few rouges ran back to help her reach the new territory, and Lyrastar stepped forward in preparation. Bearfoot also stepped forward, with anxiety as hot as the sun. The elder clearly needed help, but as they struggled up the slope in pain they protested. "Thanks but I don't need the help!" Russet would say multiple times. "Russet come on!" Bearfoot said quietly to himself. "I won't be able to go far on the journey. Can I join your CometC- CosmoClan?" said the annoyed elder suddenly. The rouges surrounding her made sad faces of surprise. Bearfoot turned his head with pleading in his eyes to a shocked Lyrastar, who nodded. The newly named Russetheart had come into camp after that so relieved to find a warm den, and had shortly after found the company of Eaglefrost. Eaglefrost was the second elder to join the clan, a slim tom who had sought shelter for the night and had decided to stay on the decision that his moss was cleaned every day. The apprentices were devastated, but the mentors couldn't be happier. Then the apprentices (mainly Featherrise and Thornrise) started bugging everyone about the stories they had been told.

It was strange to see this giant group so casual in the winter, without the threats of others aside from cold. Bearfoot was surprised how alike the clan was to his old group, and Owlwing was surprised at how cats from old (possibly rival) clans could be so friendly. The only sadness in camp was from a queen who was talking about a cat called Cedarkit and "Orion's 'chosen one'" after he fell off a tree and hurt his ankle. Strange cats called Guardians attended to him, before he nearly wrestled them away.

The only strange thing was that Cora or Wolfsbane or whatever she called herself here was stirring up the clan. Whenever Lyrastar said old rituals were broken by a Solar Guardian apprentice coming too soon or Amberowl mentioned "good old times" in CloudClan Cora would talk about exiling Featherrise or forming a rebellion. Most cats were disgusted, and that was mostly because Lionscorch and Cloverfield seemed to consider it. Mostly Bearfoot didn't listen. He was sure it wouldn't resort to something, just a silly joke.

cait licked her lips, the stoat she had been stalking for a while had finally stopped moving and was busy. she drooled at the thought of food in her belly, even though she knew her clan came before her she was just extremely hungry. she pounced and before the stoat could run off cait delivered a blow to its neck. she purred, pleased by her catch, she dug a hole and placed the stoat down.

"who are you traveler? i don't recognize your scent." a tom's meow made her stop thinking of the food. she lifted her muzzle, there were 2 scents by the border, one of foraoise and one of an unknown to cait cat. cait looked down at where she buried her stoat before quickly padding over to where the 2 scents were coming from.

"why should i tell you?" foraoise hissed, cait sighed padding up to him. she touched her tail tip off his shoulder. "let him off foraoise." cait muttered, slowly padding up to the tom across the border.

"wait.. foraoise? you're cait then huh? so the rumours are true.." the tom meowed, shock in his tone. "i want to join you. please. let me join you." he added quickly, ambition in his eyes. cait froze, surprised by his words. she glanced back at foraoise who was also surprised and no longer holding a threatening stance.

"come with us, new member." cait purred, dipping her head to the tom who looked like he was about to explode from excitement. foraoise sighed, he knew that the tom's personality was going to annoy him tremendously but he wasn't going to argue with his leader over a petty thing.

As the day faded into dusk, Adderstar emerged, yawning, from her den, looking around the mostly
empty camp and seeing that Tipwhisker was active, sorting a tiny pile of herbs, and Adderstar
approached the tortoiseshell, giving a friendly purr.

TIpwhisker started. "Oh, good evening, Adderstar," she said. "Do you need anything?"

"No, but I was going to go out. Will you be alright on your own?"

The medicine cat's whiskers twitched, as if she was amused by the question, but she nodded. "I will
be fine." She moved to turn back to her herbs, and then paused once more. "Keep an eye out, though.
I think you'll be meeting someone on the way."

Adderstar opened her mouth as if to question Tipwhisker, but seemed to think better of it, and instead,
she made her way out of the small camp. There would need to be some work to be done to extend it,
but it would require more paws than just hers and Tipwhisker's, so hs emght save the project for when
they had a little more help. And speaking of help, she found herself keeping an ear out for new sounds.

As she passed the border, she heard a faint rustling, and stiffened. "Who's there?" she asked.

A tall, loping tom strode out of the bushed, and looked her over, sniffing. "So you're who's been stalking
'round the area? Heard you was forming one of them clans, aye? You got room?"

Adderstar was a little surprised by his boldness, and she reeled a little, but she knew she couldn't complain
with an opportunity like this falling directly in front of her nose. "I... would be thrilled to have you. What's
your name?"

"Spider," he said, brushing past her and chuckling. "Pleasure."

Still a little bemused, Adderstar turned to continue, heading back for camp with the black and white tom
in tow.

The sun was rising, casting a warm glow upon the territory. But the warmth was not received; a chilly wind swept across the land like a flood, penetrating every nook and cranny. Flintspring shivered as he moved about through the shining snow, flakes creating speckles in his fur. Oh StarClan, send me a medicine cat... He tried to keep his thoughts off the cold, looking everywhere to find a burrow or nest of some creature. There were none to be seen, even when he scrambled up rocks to see farther over the amassing white blanket. Maybe, just maybe a geyser or spring will still be warm enough.
The sound of crunching snow behind Flintspring made him nearly jump off the rock. He clung to it, turning his grey head to see a long-furred molly. "Who are you?"
Brown eyes reflecting the dawn, the molly shook her pelt before speaking. "My name is Freya," she said, giving a slight bow, "but StarClan has requested you call me Pronghornpelt."
Flintspring's spirits were immediately lifted, a warmth rushing through him. Before he could bask in it, the wind whipped his side and he sucked in a breath. She looked almost too young to be a shaman, but Flintspring would never doubt the judgement of his ancestors. Maybe the shamans were born with a connection to StarClan, like he was destined to lead a strong Clan. "I'm Flintspring. Follow me back to camp. I feel it's much too cold to be out longer."
"I agree. Lead the way," Pronghornpelt meowed softly, following her new leader through the thick snow.

Hailstar enjoyed the sun shinning on his grey and white pelt. It was the Moon Of Rest. The sacred festival in which they thanked StarClan for their shelter and home, by not leaving it. He watched as the kits scuffled outside the nursery and the warriors share tongues. Thistlesnow was huddled against him and the two watched their kits play wrestle in the sunny patches. Even though it was leaf-bare, the desert climate made their home cool, but not freezing. The early mornings were laced with dew and fog, but it warmed up as the day went on. However, it was rather windy and the majority of the cats had their fur bushed out slightly. Hailstar sighed and looked down at his mate. She looked up at him as well, love filling both of their gazes. A sly spark entered Hailstar and he winked at her. Thistlesnow chuckled and nuzzled her mate. Hailstar nodded towards his den and the two disappeared into the dark.

Weather - Leaf-bare
Winter. Sometimes, winter creeps in slowly, lulling
cats into a sense of security. This year is not like that.
Winter started with a storm; one day still autumn, the next
icy cold and unwelcome, and announced with thunder.
Where cold comes, sickness follows. A sniffle from patrol
can easily lead to sneezes, and to disease if ignored.
Difficult as it is, avoiding the cold as much as possible really
is the only way to avoid the bugs of winter. And - Starclan
forbid - if disease entered camp, continuing to avoid the
cold really will be needed for any recovery.
Nights are drawing in far more rapidly now, as are the prey.
Not all hibernate, of course, but it's obvious which ones do;
the few still out for cats to find are plump-looking, nearly
fat enough to last out until spring. Hunting will be far less
fruitful once the winter weather really sets in.
