mask watched the new tom speak with the captain, her tail twitching. she had no reason to dislike the new cat, but something in her gut was just telling her to keep an eye on him. her ear swiveled as she heard pawsteps behind her, but she didn't take her eyes off her captain and the soldier.

"i'll keep my eyes on him, if it makes you feel better." pinpoint said calmly, sitting next to her and licking his paw. she hummed noncommittally, finally turning away to face the handsome cat next to her.

"do that." she said after a beat, and his green eyes gleamed in the shadows, a smirk across his muzzle as he dipped his head.

"i don't know why he hasn't made you deputy yet." he mused, his tone amused. "you run the whole clan behind the scenes."

"that's exactly why. can't keep an eye on things if i'm in the spotlight." she huffed, and pinpoint hummed, turning to look at their captain.

"he's a lot smarter than anyone gives him credit for, huh?" he asked, and mask grinned, her expression sharp.

"don't go spreading it around." deeming the conversation done, she flicked her tail and stood up, walking over to the captain and her new clanmate.

"hey fellas." she purred, giving ghost a leer. he shook his head in amusement at her antics, and she felt a rush of warmth for him. she had always used masks - the flirty molly, the avenging warrior, the pathetic orphan, to name a few - to get what she wanted from cats. with her captain, from the first time they met, she didn't have to use a mask. he knew about them, and let her keep her secrets. for that, he would always have her loyalty.

"mask, don't go scaring away our new member." he purred in response, giving her forehead a quick lick. "this is dread. mind hunting with him and pinpoint? i'm going to patrol the borders with the wonder twins. i need to look for something."

already, that told mask everything she needed to know. she didn't let herself think about the many implications in fear of someone recognizing the emotions on her face, so she just nodded and turned to dread. "come on big boy, let's go catch us some prey."

Rolling golden fields that stretch out toward the horizon, with winds that bend the grass into a mimicry of ocean
waves, are what the cats of Prairieclan call home. Lone sky-breaching cottonwood trees are dotted around the
land to provide shady spots and ideal hunting places for the clan. Breaking the illusion of complete wilderness are
the human houses cluttered toward the south, the origin of the founder and the majority of their followers. Prone
to keeping to themselves, this clan has a rather mysterious reputation, and opponents tend to think this clan un-
intimidating and weak both physically and mentally.

Within their circle, these cats are friendly and eager to please. They hold a lot of pride in their abilities and expect
a ton out of their clanmates. Aware that they are considered pathetic due to their past as pets, Prairieclan cats do
not tolerate laziness or cats with the desire for an easy life. However, they are always willing to offer a second or
even third chance at clan life, perhaps naively so.

Prairieclan cats are majorly red or white in color, but there are definitely cats of darker coats scattered among
them.

The gray-and-white warrior admires the young cat's boldness as they leap down from their perch and approach the six cats like greeting them was a common occurrence, though his eyes light up in recognition as he noted how familiar this cat appeared to the rogue he, Soaringstep, Timberclaw, along with two other of his Clanmates were trying to find just last moon. Soaringstep is also alert, eyes narrowed in contempt as he stared at the cat who put his leader out of commission. They're aware of the look he's shooting at them, but if they were nervous, they clearly showed no sign of it. They say they're here to apologize for causing harm to one of Wolffrost's own, as they were there to witness Timberclaw's fall, and that they normally would never think of stealing from another colony's food store. The patrol mutters amongst themselves, considering the possibility that this rogue might be lying, but Wolffrost feels otherwise. He thinks for a moment before meowing that it's best they apologize to their leader himself, and the WinterClan patrol returns with the tortoiseshell at their side. Wolffrost wonders what Salmonstar will do with their culprit, and in truth, he could imagine this feline becoming a part of their Clan in due time.

She followed behind Wolffrost like a bugle boy, strong, proud, her essence waifting through camp like a mouse among lions. cats stared as she followed along, smiling at those who made eye contact. she was proud, and her beautiful, silky coat was like a rare candy that didn't come along very often. she followed along and finally made it to the leaders den, where she could see a female sleeping in the back, and a sturdy thick coated male in the front. She cleared her throat, "Hello! I'm Butterfly."

Salmonstar raised his eyebrows at her confidence. "Yes... you are. Why are you here? And stealing prey? From us? Back for more, I presume."

"No, actually. I came to apologize to you guys. I didn't mean to injure your deputy or steal prey, food is just so scarce these days and you had so much."

Salmonstar paused, then beckonded her to follow him down to the stone of truth. "If you make it up you can live with us, eat with us, and be protected at all times. If you want. If you don't want to join, I will give you five minutes before I send out my fastest warriors to chase after you, and kill you. Rogues are not permitted on our lands, especially theiving ones.

Butterfly thought long and hard, and decided to join, "I'll try my best."
