Weather Report: Summer is in full swing! Prey is out and about trying to both prepare for winter and find themselves mates who haven't been taken during the spring. The heat is finally settling down and clouds drift lazily across the sky. Humans are coming out in large packs to camp by the nearby lakes or rivers and with them come their dogs.

The large, thick coated Burmese gazes in awe at the pack, his head snaps towards his new alpha Come along Bear, We're going on a patrol, I'm going to show you around the border, the alpha surged forward with confidence and determination with the new irontooth in tow. Baylin and Remi cackle and snort at jokes before going into full hunting mode, concentrating in catching some prey for their growing pack.

The smaller shiba inu trotted along - it's humans had left it off leash and while they were all occupied by the water, the shiba figured it could explore. It didn't take long for the smaller dog to lose itself in the woods but something about the idea of being human free didn't bother them... Soon it stumbled on the figures of Aland and Bear. The confident, smaller dog raised it's head proudly, "Do you have a group I can join?"

Florence snuggled closer to Trenton in his den, her muzzle tucked under his. "Florence." Trenton whispered. The she-dog let out a quiet whimper, her tail thumping against the stone floor. "Florence. You have to move into the nursery soon. Essex had Dayton and Orlando finish fixing up the nursery yesterday."
"But I want to stay with you." Florence murmured, snuggling closer to the lanky black male. "Can't I stay, please?" She asked at the same time Essex poked his head into the den.
"No, Florence. You can't stay in here. This den isn't safe for pups, I almost slipped just trying to climb up here. Now, come to the nursery." Essex ordered before backing out of the den. Florence shot the shaman an annoyed look before hauling herself to her paws. The brindled she-dog cast her mate one last look before squeezing out of the den.

the black poodle paced the hiking trails, obviously anxious. It had been five days without a single sign of it's people. The dog felt guilty for it's own paws had been what had caused it to get lost. Adventure called and thus the dog had satisfied that calling with some wondering. Now it felt it's own stomach grumbling and mats were beginning to form in it's once flawlessly groomed pelt. A mouse scurried by and the black dog, hunting instincts kicking in, pounced and landed right on top of the small creature. Once sure it was dead the black poodle grimaced but ate what little meat was on the mouse's bones. Halfway through it got interrupted by the sound of pawsteps and when it looked up and lanky black dog was staring at them - emotionless. "I.. uh.. Sorry..?" the poodle muttered, "I'm really, really lost and I just got so hungry.. I didn't know anyone lived here." Trenton tilted his head, "It's quite okay, if you need a place to stay you're more then welcome to join my kennel." the poodle nodded, relief readable on it's shoulders.

him expectantly. she quirked her head, silently awaiting him to realize his fault. this only made the brute angrier by the second, after a few heartbeats of silence he turned back to her his tone rough and harsh. "what?" he growled. she cocked her head back up straight and bounced to her paws walking toward him a small smirk on her maw. "the name's rigel, i'm your beta." she said softly as she sat beside him looking up at the ceiling. it's lights had disappeared from their loud chatter but the lights seemed to come back as their words ended. arcturus looked at the glowing worms growling softly before standing and exiting the cave quickly. rigel sat silently awaiting the worms calming glow before she exited. Arcturus had awaited her outside of the cave, he'd sat himself on top of a stone to make himself look taller than he truly was."i asked for a real beta, not some pretty looking fae!" arcturus growled at her glaring steadily. the fae simply smiled. "i'm sorry you feel that way, but it was the ancestors who told me to find out the arrogant pup sitting in a cave all by himself looking at bugs!" rigel barked back, her kind demeanor gone as she turned cold on arcturus. her outburst brought a expressionless look to the brute's face, stunned by her words. surely she was not calling him, her alpha, an arrogant pup. arcturus sat confused for a mere moment taking in all that he could of this fae. she surely was incapable of handling a kennel. arcturus turned his back on her heading toward the camp, expecting her to follow. rigel glared at his back for a mere second before running to stride along side him, and not behind him. "what are we to do first?" she asked looking at him with her cold brown eyes. he chuckled shaking his head, "there is no we. i will go hunting and then i will go on border patrol." he told her emphasizing the word 'i' as he spoke it. he would do the work while rigel would sit in camp and await another dog to become her mate to where she'll become a pup-mother and another would replace her. rigel, however, stifled a laugh as she digested his words. "you can't stop me from doing my duty as the beta of this kennel." she said turning away from him.
"fine, rigel voto." he teased as he spoke to her with the suffix of a true beta. "good," rigel said standing her ground. the brute smiled as he lead the fae away from camp leading her on a border patrol and hunting patrol. "just try to keep up, fae." arcturus muttered before stalking off the fae quickly following.

Paws pattered over concrete and the springer spaniel's nose lifted into the air. It could smell someone.. nearby. The dog had abandoned the civilized streets long ago and had survived this long on it's own.. it just so happened that living alone got, well, lonely. Thus it had set out in search of others. It seemed to be close, the air was growing thicker with dog smells by the second. Not much time passed before it stood near Arcturus and Rigel with it's head tilted. Arcturus glowered at the new dog, obviously, he hadn't expected anyone to be showing up. The alpha of the kennel kept his mouth shut though, waiting for this new dog to explain itself. The spaniel glanced in both directions, unsure how to start, "Well.. hello..?" they half said, half asked,"I'm just looking for a group to join."

"You are a pretty great hunter." Troy comented, he didn't bother to say 'for a female' at the end of that sentence. "You will never have to worry about fighting, but you will have to hunt if you wish to stay protected." Troy explained to her. "Males are the protectors here, females just hunt." he added.
"I guess that is alright..." Viloa muttered as they placed their catches in the cluttered camp, it was obvious this place needed a fae's touch anyways. "I am going to tidy up a bit before I set off again, if that is alright?" she asked Troy respectfully.
"That's fine by me. Oh, before I forget, our Shaman is Markus. He doesn't talk much." He informed her before going out again.

Troy paced the border easily, stopping occasionally to mark the border. He wasn't paying too much attention, merely putting one foot in front of the other when a curious smell hit him. Another dog. His pace picked up, ears perked and when he got to the smell he was surprised to see a massive dog sitting patiently at the border. Troy narrowed his eyes, "What are you doing?" The massive dane bowed his head, "Waiting for you.. or someone." the larger dog added, "I'm just looking for a group to join and smelled your markers. It's rude to cross uninvited, you know." Troy, still slightly surprised nodded, "Yes, but not many have such manners." The dane shrugged and continued, "So.. Do you have a group I can join or shall I continue looking elsewhere?"

Shadow was sitting next to Rouge, they were talking about Shadows pups and of course how good of a father Blade would be.
"Oh, I don't know Rouge. Blade is pretty cruel with the other dogs. I'm just afraid that'll be cruel to his pups."
"Shadow don't stress, of course Blade is going to love his pups. Even the cruelest of dogs can be kind."
"I hope your right." she turned her head to the entrance of camp. "Hey do you want to go hunting?"
Rouge quickly shook her head, "You shouldn't be hunting. Let's go on a patrol."
Shadow let out an irritated sigh, "Fine, lets go."
________________________________________________________________________________________________
After talking with Hunter the new member of the kennel and Shaman, Blade watched him leave camp to search for herbs. Blade glanced around camp and couldn't see any sign of Shadow She must have went out. he thought. He turned to Angie, the female was sitting alone staring off into space, like always. Blade honestly never cared for her she seemed too unfocused, but then again if he wanted Rouge to stay in the kennel Angie would have to stay too. "Hello Angie." he greeted, as she snapped out of her trance to look at him.
"Oh, hey Blade." she replied softly.
"Want to go hunting?"
"Sure."
Blade stood up again and looked around, he couldn't find Rouge. Then he thought maybe she went with Shadkw he did see them talking not to long ago. He gaze rested on Thunder, Blade never really liked him he was too kind, and soft. But he didn't want anybody to be doing nothing.
"Thunder!" he called, Thunders ears perked up and he trotted over to them.
"Yes Blade?"
"I want you to go on a hunting patrol with Angie and me."
Thunder glanced at Angie who began staring off into space again. "Ok?"
Without another word Blade began walking, and Thunder had to snap Angie out of her trance to get her moving.

The boxer puppy pounced on leaf after leaf, unaware of where they were. When they looked up they realized they were a far way from the backyard. With a low pitched whine they set off again, continuing away from the backyard. They assumed they were going the right way but.. not..? Eventually the poor puppy stopped and laid down in the middle of the trail, another low pitched whine resonating from it's chest. It watched as the rottweiler and german shepherd got closer, afraid to move at that point. Concerned dripped from Shadow's voice as she leaned close and nuzzled the little pup. Her own belly was swollen with her expected pups and her maternal instincts kicked into overdrive when she saw the little boxer pup. It didn't take long for Shadow and Rouge to get the story of being lost out of the pup and soon enough the two females were leading the younger dog back toward camp.

The Ruby Brigade are a pack formed together mainly of dogs that stand shorter than 2', save a few larger ones who act as guards. What they lack in size they make up for in spirit and skill, as they train hard from the beginning of their lives and plan their defensive and offensive actions painstakingly, being careful not to be beaten. Being so small, if they were beaten by a larger kennel they could easy be killed. However their spirit and loyalty keeps them going. This very battle-centered tribe likes to keep order most of the time, but also enjoy occasions where they can just relax so as tradition they get a short amount of time in the evening to just lay about and watch the pups play.
Due to their military outtake on pack life, the other packs see them as neither a friendly nor dangerous kennel. Individually they are often viewed as respectful and sensible, although when in the comfort of their own base, as they like to call their home, these small dogs often come out of their shells.
The territory of the Ruby Brigade was selected because it allowed the small dogs that they are to easily move around, yet made it hard for any larger dogs. It's a dense forest with really bumpy and unpredictable ground, full of holes and ditches and fallen trees. Slightly to the west of the centre is a large pond, which has a fast stream flowing and and out of it. Due to the churning of the water its quite clean and also safe for the dogs to use so they often bathe or drink in it. Their base is located just north-west of it in a raised bit of land, surrounded by shrubs. There is a large tree in the center with low, thick branches called the Post where the meetings are kept. Its leaves go deep red in autumn which is partially why they're called the Ruby Brigade, and the other part is their military style.
