"Welcome to Direwood's public grounds! This expanse of land is for use of anyone with an echobi - which is a requirement, by the way - to train and work. You won't be allowed access somewhere this dangerous without a companion of your own to keep you safe. See, we don't fully know every inch of the nature preserve that surrounds our various buildings and trails, and feral or lost echobi are sometime seen roaming about, even in the training centers and human paths! So no matter where you go please be safe and keep a close eye out for anything unusual. We're counting on you and your echobi to keep the peace here as you explore."
What Do & How To?
- You may only post forms here when the grounds are marked as 'OPEN'
- You may mark this page at any time (openings will be posted here & on Discord)
- You must use an echobi trained to at minimum Tier 2 to enter such as a foundie
- Choose one of the three areas to explore each round
- Do not edit your post to change location mid-opening please
- You may only explore once per opening
- Openings may be as short as 24 hours or as long as a month; don't worry everything will be announced amply
- Staff will use a fair perchance roller to determine your findings before narrating unique stories to share the results for each outing
- You must let your echobi rest if you found something last opening (use a different trained echobi or skip your turn)
- If you find an echobi while exploring, please be patient; the artist that is making your echobi will send you a PM when it is completed, and you do not need to submit anything anywhere to make that happen (you DO need to claim your found echobi once it is posted by giving it a name though, or like foundies, it will be raffled off to the public after seven days)
- Feral echobis will not come pre-trained
- Feral echobis will have a special tracking brand and often have scaring/healed injuries/minor medical equipment
- Orphan pups/lost pet echobi will come trained to Tier 2
- Orphan domestic echobi will often have barrless coats and/or genetic mutations
- Lost domestic echobi will often have small accessories and/or companions accompanying them
- Items will be tracked by our treasurer here

Learning Center
[High probability of finding items. Low probability of finding feral echobi. Mid probability of finding domestic echobi.]
Fail Rate Probability - 25% (10% for tier 3+)
The learning center seems to be the largest section of land. In the middle stands a wide stone and wood cabin, full of vintage taxidermy, tack, literature, and art displaying the history of the Echobi. Beautifully gardened stone human paths surround it plenty wide enough for leisurely hand leading echobi. Adoption events and special seminars are often being held at the booths and stages that fork from the main path, leaving a lovely array of colorful banners and sculptures about. Several stalls in the back of the building temporarily house staff owned echobi, while a larger paddock showcases some of the facility owned studs and broodmares that work the property. Occasionally staff will bring these echobi to socialize and put on educational shows for the public, giving away helpful items like training tokens in the process.
Training Grounds
[Mid probability of finding items. Low probability of finding feral echobi. High probability of finding domestic echobi.]
Fail Rate Probability - 50% (20% for tier 3+)
The training grounds seem small for what they are, however it becomes clear once you spend some time looking around that it is actually made up of a cheeky maze of specialty areas. Though the main ring in the center sees the most traffic - trainers are giving very basic ground-work lessons to both human and echobi alike here all day long - there are some spots for very niche skills as well. Theres a dock and a pool for water-based sports, an indoor building holding obedience trials, a small agility park with uniquely designed jumps and tunnels, and of course several fields with the needed accoutrement for various equine oriented specialties such as cart drawing and pole bending. Several arenas and structures seem to be set up for ever changing uses, offering ample space for trainers to bring their own equipment for special training sessions. This area can be a bit difficult to traverse when it's extra busy, so it's no wonder abandoned echobi are found wandering here at times..
Nature Trails
[Low probability of finding items. High probability of finding feral echobi. Mid probability of finding domestic echobi.]
Fail Rate Probability - 50% (20% for tier 3+)
The famous nature trails of the Direwood Grounds sprawl out in a somewhat chaotic mess of trails, but they all loop back around the same way - if you follow the main pathways, it's just a quick dip into the depths of the preserve, and then you'll be back to the public grounds again before nightfall. Any farther out and get ready to camp! Most of the trails are marked out pretty well though, color coded little triangle posts leading your way through the dense meadow grasses, around mud pits, away from steep cliff drops. It's still easy enough to get lost in it all, and not the safest place to be if you aren't an experienced rider. It's not well advised to walk along these trails yourself either with the limited visibility - your echobi can glide through with ease though - so maybe bring a partner with some trail experience under their saddle. In fact, if you decide to just relax and let them take the lead, you might allow their nose to find something interesting.

"The season is over and we're now closed folks! Thanks for coming out, but we need to do some maintenance on the grounds. An announcement will be made when we're all set up again no worries. Be sure to check the reports here before you head out to confirm ownership and items collected are correct, if any. Just skim about and look for your name --"
"The grounds are once again open to explore! Come along folks!"
