IndentionYou find the perfect specimen of a stallion dozing within a secluded glade. His coat color is magnificent. His quip type, even more dazzling. What luck to find such a rare equid! Oh, is that a little frog peeking out from behind the wme? No matter. You creep closer. A dried twig cracks beneath your feet. The stallion’s eyes snap open. He’s staring right at you. The frog croaks disapprovingly.

“If you mean to steal me away,” drawls the stallion, “know that my owner would not take kindly to that.”

Your hopes sink. For, of course, you're no thief.

He scoffs. “As if I could be unclaimed.”

You hang you head. You turn to leave.

“Perhaps,” the stallion speaks up, “my owner can offer you some other… consolation. Though, knowing that one, I’m sure it will involve a good deal of typing.”

IndentionHey there, I’m kite! And I’m closing breedings for some of my wmes. But before I do that, I wanted to offer a last chance to snag a breeding slot. I’m not interested in slot trades, wmes, or art for them. Rather, I’m eager for some stories! Impress me enough with your story, you’ll take home one of the last perms from some of my prettiest quids. Interested? Well, let me show you the slot prizes.

Breeding Slots:
Raijin = 1 slot

Orion = 1 slot

Elvis = 1 slot

Lykos = 1 slot

So how does this comp work? Below you will see a list of prompts. Pick the prompt that inspires you. Then write a story based off that prompt with your own wme as the main character. That's right, these stories will be about your equids not mine. That way, anything you write for this competition can be counted towards ARPG points. Everyone has until April 6th: 8pm EST (rollover 6th > 7th) to submit their entries.

After the end date, stories will be judged and places announced. There will be a first, second, third, and fourth place winner. Your place determines your order in choosing from the listed breeding slots. First gets first pick. Second is next. After that, third chooses. Finally, fourth place gets whatever breeding slot is left.

You want a slot to Raijin, Orion, Elvis, or Lykos, writing is your ticket. Happy writing!

Competition Rules:

1. Follow all of CS Writing Rules

2. Any AI writing or AI assistance in writing will disqualify you

3. You must own the wme main character (unless non-owner)

4. You may include other user's wmes in your story as long as you have permission

Prompts:

1. There is a prophecy foretold about your wme. What is the prophecy? And does it come true just as the legends say?

2. Your wme needs a vacation. Describe where they go and what they get up to. Is it as relaxing as they hoped?

3. There is one wme that yours can’t stand. They haven’t had to interact with them much, until now. Life has made it so your wme can’t avoid them. What's the situation and how does it go?

4. There is a touch of magic to your wme. What are their magical abilities? Share a time their magic changed their life, for better or worse.

5. There is a new member to your herd. How does your wme react? Do they become friends? Enemies? Write a story about their first interaction and how their relationship changes.




6. Your wme has been traveling in search of someone. After a long journey, their goal is in sight. Who is this wme that matters so much to them? How does the reunion go?

7. Someone your wme cares for is sick. How did they get sick and is it serious? What lengths does your wme go to look after this sick wme? Bonus points if there is romance.

8. It’s the time of the romance festival. All the wmes in the region come together to celebrate. Does your wme have someone special? Are they taking them as their date? Are they asking out their crush? Does someone ask your wme to be their date? How does the celebrations turn out?

9. Your wme has wandered somewhere they shouldn’t. Perhaps encouraged by friends or loved ones. What danger are they in? Do they make it out okay?

10. Your wme has a secret. Something that has been hidden for some time. What is the secret? When a wme discovers your wme’s secret, what are the repercussions?




11. Write about the time your wme discovered a baby cryptid. Did they bring it back to their herd? Keep it a secret? What was the relationship like between your wme and the little cryptid? Did your wme raise the cryptid, or try and reunite it with its kind?

12. Everyone knows there is going to be a battle between your wme's herd and a rival herd. Describe the history between these two herds. Tell me about how your wme and their herd prepares for the battle. Then describe the two herds colliding and how it plays out. Or, perhaps a fight is avoided through careful negotiating? Either way, I want to know.

13. Write me a wme love story. How did your wme and their crush meet? Did they hit it off right away? How did their relationship grow into something more? Who made the first move? Who said I love you first? Did they go through any trials? Give me the scoop.

14. Tell me a story about your wme and a family member. Could be a brother, sister, cousin, parent. I want an example of their typical relationship dynamic. Then write about a time they either had to overcome a rift between them, or a time they relied on their bond to get through a difficult situation. Show the outcome of either scenario.

15. Your wme has a vivid dream. Describe the dream to me. Is it a pleasant dream or a nightmare? Give as much detail as you can on the setting and situations that take place in the dream. I want to read along from the start of the dream to the end. Feel free to be as fantastical or frightening as cs will allow lol.

Some elements I like in a story:

- romance

- flirting

- good dialogue

- action

- fantasy

- including other people's wmes

Some elements I don't like in a story:

- just your wme, by themself, for long periods

- scenes that are long with no action/nothings happening

- horse stories with no talking. Let them talk please

- stories that don't follow the chosen prompt. I will be let down.

- filler to hit the word count minimum. Don't describe the leaves on the tree for 5 mins. Come on you don't need that.

- being afraid to take risk. All wmes in the story play it safe. Everyone is nice. The sun is out. Where is the excitement! The tension!

- domestic wme stuff. I dunno it's not my jam
