Gryphians is hiring! If you’d like to help us create a better experience for visitors and residents of the Atlas Station, there are a few different roles we’re looking to fill. Please note that we don’t require prior experience working as UMA staff; we really just need people who have a friendly disposition, the ability to work together as a team, and a willingness to learn new things! Staff are paid in Sprockets and have access to a Staff Shop that includes some exclusive perks as thanks for their contributions. Staff should be comfortable using Discord as a communication platform and will need to join the Gryphians Discord to access staff content.

Moderators

Responsible for monitoring the Gryphians forums and Discord chat, including user profiles within the chat, for compliance to CS and Gryphians rules. Also responsible for answering support tickets that specifically require a mod’s attention. This is a role that requires a lot of patience and the ability to remain calm during heated situations. Everything else is a skill that can be taught, and a kind and willing attitude goes a long way.

Artists

Gryphians handles our art team a bit differently because ultimately, we want our artists to be able to enjoy the game too without feeling overly pressured. We don’t make distinctions between the different “types” of artists on our team, and you’re not required to stick around long-term if you don’t want to. Whether you’d like to contribute just a little or a whole lot, new linesets or even just a single item, let us know what you’re interested in doing and we’ll happily work with you!

To apply as an Artist, submit either one recolor Gryphian example on the basic lines (no edits), an edited Gryphian example (with as many edits as you’re comfortable with), or an example of an item on the Gryphian base. Use whichever base you like (paws or talons) and inclusion of wings is optional for the recolor. Items should be shaded, as should any edits to the Gryphian base. As mentioned above, apply for what you are comfortable with! If you’re best with coloring, but not edits, or want to try out items, go for it! You are also welcome to include any other similar pixel art samples that showcase your style, or other examples of Gryphian colorations. Entries must be your own work! Gryphians does not allow copyright characters or art content. The base download is here, for reference, using the same file that the Starter Gryphians use.

Dispatchers

Dispatchers are what we call our general helpers. They help us roll results for supply runs (the upcoming Gryphians ‘daily’), answer questions, greet new members, assist with events, and generally just keep an eye on things to make sure our community remains a warm and welcoming space. If you’re sociable and love to help but don’t want the responsibilities of a moderator, this might be a good fit for you. Dispatchers are required to be unbiased and not show favoritism with tasks like supply run rolls, ensuring that everyone has a chance to earn currency, items, and Gryphians fairly.
